This store has changed since the last time I was here. Granted, this was many years ago. They used to carry new tank tops with the best captions. They no longer have that here. Bummer. They should really check their inventory bc there were several articles of questionable clothing; specifically, an ivory silk skirt with a peculiar crusty stain around the groin area for sale. It nearly made us put everything back and leave. They also don't hold anybody accountable as there were creepy dudes walking around pretending to shop, eating/drinking a can of IDK what. There's a very obvious sign that says no food or drink in the store. These pedos were eyeballing a child shopping with their father. They were clearly scoping the kid out and giving eachother weird notions. One guy was at one rack, and the other next to the father and child. When the mother came by and took the child and father away to another side of the building, these sickos left the store. Sketchy. Very f-ing scary. Anyway, here's to hoping none of the articles of clothing I purchased have any weird crusty stains or sold to the store by traffickers P.S. Buffalo, do better at managing the items you buy from random people, and the sick pedos that come to your store. If you see weird sh*t, whether clothing or behavior, don't allow it at your store. This is the worst buffalo exchange. The employees are much more interested in scoping out the incoming clothes (that they are able to buy for themselves COUGH conflict of interest COUGH) and chatting amongst themselves than helping customers at the register. This one also has the worst vibes of all the many B.E's I've been to. Also, this location has the worst selection. Probably bc the employees keep the best items for themselves. This new and recycled clothing store for men and women is very well organized. Sizes are separated on racks and clearly marked with size and price. There were red dot items indicating a 25% discount off the market price. Dressing rooms are available. Staff are helpful if you need them. Otherwise just slowly meander your way about. Ok. Buffalo exchange Tempe is stepping it up. I've been to this location countless times, but I never had great expectations or even experiences. But yesterday I decided to give selling there another try. I was not disappointed! I had a great trade day. A manager was helping some new employees learn. They were looking for quality fabrics, brands and styles. This was a pivot from previous times where knowledge was not demonstrated. Kudos to the manager for being extremely polite, knowledgeable and multi tasking to the nines. Every staff member was helpful and kind. I was pretty impressed by the entire process. First time in years it was so great. The outlet area is also so fun to check out, I got two Anthropologie pieces for only $12. read more

The staff were extremely nice. It was my first time at this location. For anyone that is interested in selling , beware there might be a wait. You can get on a list and they can text you when you're next. You Must be at the counter when ready. You cannot leave your stuff unattended. If you leave stuff overnight it will automatically be donated. I sold 4 items and got $29 of store credit. Not bad. When you opt for cash you get half the amount of what would've been store credit. Brittany, the buyer and manager here is fantastic. Consignment on clothes can be awkward, especially as they go through each item while you are there with them but I actually loved the entire experience. The transparency is nice and of course the added store credit is lovely and fair prices. Everyone that works there is really friendly and I loved chatting with Brittany while she sorted my items. Used to really like this place. They used to have cool pieces, lots of vintage, it was a good vibe. Now? Lol. It's all fast fashion. Bad, cheap quality. And so many were new with tags so I wonder how they can claim to be all about reusing and recycling. The few pieces that weren't random crappy brands had stains or rips. Selling here was also horrendous. My job is in fashion and they treated me like I had the ugliest clothes they'd ever seen. They even told me how to "improve" next time, like I was working for them! Overall, this shop is filled with a decent selection of retro used items. The prices can vary, and sometimes a little pricier than I've seen at local thrift stores and similar reshare shops. I've frequented for over 20 years, and always try to stop in when in the area as it is always a unique find. I do find it a little more difficult to find plus size items, but that is the nature of retro items. The staff has always been great at greeting when you enter, and friendly when you check out. BUFFALO EXCHANGE FELL OFF!! For shoppers: This store is stuffed to the brim with fast fashion, cheap clothing, drop-shipped items, fake vintage, and hideously overpriced everything. It used to have unique, alternative items but now it's all gone. For sellers: Don't even bother. Brought in a brand new Vince sweater still has the tags on it never been worn, original retail $495. The child at the counter had the audacity to look me in the face and offer me $24. Which means I would get $12. That is 2 1/2% of the original retail price. this child even offered to get a second opinion and went to a manager, the look on that manager's face was a complete shock at the price that she offered. She then asked manager if $35 were OK, he very uncomfortably shook his head in stoic agreement. I was shocked as I was expecting the manager to take over at that moment, but, my expectations created only disappointment. This child who is representing this company and making business decisions for them who has no business making business decisions on behalf of any entity also completely passed on a brand new, tags still on them, never been worn pair of AG jeans. original retail price, $220. No offer made. That was it, two items, two brand new never been worn items, still current in style and color. There are other stores in the valley that offer the same types of services as Buffalo exchange. I would recommend any one of them over dealing with the immature and inept employees of Buffalo exchange. I will offer this up to the Internet, I do have a FWB that I see every now and again that used to work at Buffalo exchange. It turns out the only way to get fair or decent pricing on your items is to have a friend at Buffalo exchange working. Because they pay their friends top dollar for their items. Turns out they do this to finance their party habits or concert tickets. So thank you for contributing to the youth of America Buffalo exchange. They are completely using you. read more

I've had great luck selling and buying here. Staff is super friendly, whether they're greeting you when you walk in or chatting up your goods while selling. I've found some solid shoe options with good, quality wear left in them. I like their selection of pants and blouses/tops (size and style) as compared to the downtown PHX spot. Love this Buffalo Exchange! I've sold clothes to almost every resale store in the valley and Buffalo Exchange in Tempe gives you the best price for your items by far. As for buying, they have a great selection with a wide variety of styles. They even have quite a bit of vintage stuff, which is always fun to see. I came to Sell at this location of Buffalo exchange I walked in. Not knowing what to expect. I waited probably about 10 minutes maybe before my name being called after I scanned the QR code to go on the waitlist when I arrived. I was called up to the counter, by the manager, Marnie. She was so amazing and I could definitely tell that she knows how to do her job and very well because she literally was talking to me and making sure I had a good experience and just nice casual conversation as we went through each of my items and I had huge bins three of them And she took the time to look at each one and be very thorough and I was very impressed with her thought and skills of buying in purchases I got rid of most the items I brought only ended up taking one bin home thanks to Marnie and her kindness. The selection wasn't too bad to shop in just I need to wait about a few weeks so new inventory can be stocked. The value I got in trade vs cash was immaculate and I was super happy with the service and speed a prices not too high. I will definitely be coming back anytime Marnie is working because she was so sweet and so caring and thoughtful and a sweet conversationalist. read more

This location is nearly impossible to sell at or the buyers do not understand. I brought in over a dozen aybl, nvgtn, gymshark, Nike, John galt pieces brand new. They took nothing. Then upon looking around at their selection, I was overwhelmed with outdated, frayed clothing that was ridiculously overpriced. Better off selling on depop and shopping at goodwill. I just had such a great experience at the Tempe Buffalo exchange. I wish I had gotten everyone's names to shout them out, but everyone working at 5:30 p.m. on Friday Aug 1 was pleasant and helpful and proactive. They started me a dressing room when my hands were full, they complimented the stuff I was trying on and buying and they smiled and asked how my day was. The store is pretty clean and I only shopped blouses and dresses, but found cute stuff priced well. Sam bought from me and she was lovely. I overheard a buyer kindly and tactfully explaining why he wasn't able to take a customer's stuff. When I sell I never care if they take a lot or don't - I just care about how I'm treated. Seriously, so impressed. I had the exact opposite experience at the Phoenix store on Wednesday where the service was so appalling I had to leave and vowed to never go back. I was in here right before they closed as I needed pants for my new job starting tomorrow. Anyways, it was 8:55 and some girl in braids came back to let us know it was closing, and I told her we would be right out as I was putting my shoes on. I've just had knee surgery so it takes me a moment, so at 8:59 she comes back with a massive attitude telling us to get out. We walked up to the registers and the entire staff was completely unwelcoming and rude. I understand your store is closing, however a bit of accommodation goes a long way. I decided to finally stop in when I was in the area (Sunday evening) and so excited to see what goodies I would find. They were about an hour away from closing the store, but the employees were still so friendly and not mad that we had walked in. The cheerfully greeted us from behind the buying counter. Coming in here for me is a like a kid in a candy store. The racks have a lot of merchandise, there is a ton of purses/backpacks, cute accessories, and they have a bunch of shoes in the back part of the store! Every rack is organized by size making it easy to find what's best for you. They have a cute vintage section by the dresses that is so adorable. The fitting room attendant was super super friendly and the fitting rooms are cute! The clothing is in pretty good quality and some of it is even NEW. Prices can be a little high but your paying for the name brand item. No smelly dirty clothes here! The cashier was cool and friendly! He informed us we can sell pieces everyday at any time! They don't offer bags for your purchases but instead donate the 5 cents a bag would cost (I believe) to a charity of your choice, COOL. A valley institution. This shop has been at this location for at least 40 years. We used to go to the original shop at Mill and 5th when we were in college. I had forgotten about them since they closed the one at 7th Ave on my side of town. I was at a meeting in Tempe and passed by. Since I had some time to kill, I stopped in. I needed some vintage items for an upcoming Rockabilly event. I am much older than the average shopper here, and of course being at ASU much, much older Ha! I was not dressed well today, no makeup, sloppy hair, etc and I had no issue at all. In fact, the staff here were all delightful and welcoming. I say this in response to what some reviewers said about being snubbed for being/appearing unstylish in the store. Everyone was really great. Jenna was doubly nice and I found some awesome items. A staff member came rushing over to help. She asked if she could set up a dressing room for me when she saw me with my arms full of a lot of try on choices. I ended up finding a swing leather skirt and a cute beanie,. these items were at a steaming, ridiculous low price. All the clothes I saw and have always seen here are like new. Some items still had tags on them. The styles, buy back criteria, and sizes are geared for a younger, skinnier, hip crowd so I probably would not come as often as say a person 30 years younger than me but that is also not a steadfast rule. They had a lot of cute jeans, blouses, dresses, and sweaters. Maybe size up. if you are into vintage they had some cute clothes and even some old train case luggage pieces. Oh by the way, Totally rad and awesome jewelry and sunglasses. YEAH, YEAH, YEAh!! I have not tried to sell clothes here in at least 35 years so I cannot offer any advice on that except they have a very preset mindset on what they will take due to, space, amount, sizes, price resale abilities, and fashion changes. Do not review based on the fact you think your clothes are what they want. Even when I was young, cute, and hip they rarely bought my stuff. That was back when they were the only resale Gig in town. So just take your non bought clothes, smile and thank them, and go somewhere else. There are so many options in the valley now now that buy back used clothes. No need to try to ruin someone's business for this reason. read more
