Don't bother trying to shop or consign here unless you're a college student with super "trendy" clothes. The 2 staff members that assisted me when I attempted to consign were very snooty and condescending. Which is ironic since you work at a second hand store, not a high end boutique where that kind of attitude is typically "expected". Staff called my clothes "outdated and not trendy" right to my face and only took 2 of the pile of items I brought. My clothes are high quality and the majority were bought just within the year and many just within the last couple of months (a lot of the items still had a tag on). But somehow they're outdated? And even if they were outdated, isn't this supposed to also be a vintage store? When does something become vintage instead of outdated? Very friendly staff. The selection is pretty wide, and there are definitely great finds. Not the cheapest but it is worth it.

Unless you are in high school or college and not on a budget don't go here - it's extremely expensive and mostly crop tops . Dresses were 45.00 plus , shirts were 16-30.00 and nothing was that cute . for a company that is literally a chain. you could give people plastic bags or even paper ones cause now i'm carrying clothes outside and if they get dirty it is quite literally your fault. Also they give you this chip to add into a donation which is cool but i need a bag instead of a paper chip. Yea so i just won't go here again. Cool vintage clothing shoes etc; shop, I come here every time I'm in Tempe. They follow all safety protocols, clean shop they sanitize shoes before you try them on. Complete waste of time and effort. Took several items of clothing most new and unused with tags on them and they took maybe 4 items. I was completely shocked since I've been to this particular location in Tempe on Mill Ave several times and I've seen the clothes they sell here. Most of the items on the racks are visibly used and some with unintentional stains and tears. The only difference is the sizes. Then again considering the location I guess I shouldn't be surprised at any items bigger than a size 4 being rejected. Very disappointing. Service was subpar but again location matters. read more

don't waste your time the employees do not take any clothes, even brands like Levis, Free People, Urban, etc. ALL the brands you see them sell there. Even if there is little wear, or almost none in my opinion. I just found this odd because I see the things they sell there, so I was shocked to see they did not take my things. I know the risk about selling my clothes to this 2nd Hand store, but I didn't realize 6 hoodies and multiple hats from big brands are only worth $37 all together. McKenzie rocks!! I have a very hard time styling myself to be trendy and also fun. They spent a good hour shopping with me all around the store, asking me questions and collaborating together on outfit ideas. They picked things for me I would've never thought to wear but ended up loving. The customer service was the best I've ever had shopping ever, anywhere!! McKenzie thank you, my outfits are fun and I don't feel so "boring" but Im still comfortable and true to myself. On another note, this store has gotten considerably pricey. Thrift can be pricey depending on brands, but here you still see Shein and Forever21. Inflation is real, but I wonder why it affects used clothes? Regardless, the pool of clothing here is much better than other places like Plato's closet, and there are some truly unique and fun pieces. Would love to see a bigger fitness selection for work out clothes, but that's just being picky :) I also have found amazing shoes here. All in all great time shopping here! read more

This place is pretty ridiculous in terms of consignment. I brought a bag of 50 things and they didn't want to buy any of it. The worker went on to tell me how they only buy things that are "trending". I brought a bag mostly filled with Urban Outfitters and Free People so I thought it was weird that they couldn't take a single thing. The clothes are really overpriced also for a thrift store. I was pretty disappointed in that too, shouldn't be spending the same $$ you would for new. To top this off, the higher price doesn't mean the payout is better. I've sold to this place before with 2 bags worth of clothes and got $23z I would check out Plato's Closet, not Buffalo Exchange. Way more reasonable. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars because their customer service is really great and all of the employees are super helpful and respectful. However this is the second time I have been here to sell and I've been very unhappy both times. I came in with a bag full of clothes which were all name brand and designer in pristine condition (Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, White House Black Market, Lululemon, Athleta, etc.) and they didn't buy anything. I was very confused because they were all great quality and fitting with the styles I saw in the store when I went to sell. I came here and found some shoes I'd been looking for awhile. I bought them just to find out they labeled the size wrong. They put 7.5 women when they were 7.5 MEN. I go back to return them which of course they only give you store credit. I look around the store just to use the credit and never come back again. Not one employee was friendly. I was standing by the sunglasses that are in a locked case and the employee is just staring at me. Didnt ask me once if I wanted to look at anything. Save your money and don't come here. Really terrible experience from just wanting some understanding of a gross oversight.

I attempted to sell my clothes at the ASU location as I was recommended to go there. I made an appointment on online which was super easy. The instructions stated they would be coming out to my car to go through the clothes and to just call them when I arrived but when I got there they told me to come inside. I didn't think I had to get out of my car so I ended my struggling to bring a laundry basket of clothes in the store. The doors are not accessible when your hands are full. No one came to help me. I went in and someone welcomed me right away and set me up to go through the clothes I brought in. She offered me to walk the store or standby and wait for the results. They have a 50 item limit so I counted beforehand 47 items to bring in. Out of all the items (name brands, athletic wear, women's shorts/business pants, etc) the lady told me that it's just not items that they are looking for right now. They only took 1 item-a plain green tank top. The lady told me that I had to go across the store to the cashier side to pick up my cash or store credit. I asked her if I could take all the stuff back out to my car first. She said yes, but just remember to pick it up at the cashiers before you leave. I asked if she could open the door for me because it was a struggle just to get in here and she did say yes. I got back in the store to grab my store credit and had to wait in line, although it was quick and easy when I got to the counter it would have been nice to know that they only take specific items. read more

Went In a few weeks ago on a Friday 10/2 with a huge box of clothes, jewelry & shoes. The process was fairly quick and the gal taking in my things told me that I had some really nice thing by suggesting if I had any more of " those jeans, van shoes and jewelry" (especially turquoise) they would take it in. Not knowing "what all they took" my total credit was $42.50. I thought that was not very much, but just wanting to get ride of it : so this time that was fine. In the mean time, my son was shopping ; trying things on & was only able to get one outfit for that credit! I received the rest of my things back that they "didn't opt" to take & the box was much lighter! They took almost everything! Kinda disappointing! You don't get much credit & less in cash for the items they take in; then they turn around & resale them for much more! I get that it's a business & they want (need) to make a profit, but getting "next to nothing for it", I would rather the next time donate it or try to sell these brand name items at a yard sale. My husband and I were able to safely try on clothes during this pandemic. All clothes that had been tried on were cleaned before going back out to the floor. There was hand sanitizer available and mask wearing was enforced. This location has the best selection out of all the Buffalo Exchanges I've been to. There is a ton of stuff to look through and multiple 50% off racks. Just about any fashion related need you have can be remedied here. I loved the variety there was to look through. We walked out with a huge haul of cute, comfortable, well-fitting clothes for less than $80. They are always very environmentally conscious, as well. When I shop here, I don't have to worry that I'm supporting a business that is greatly contributing to waste. In fact, quite the opposite. They actively work to help the environmental situation. All the employees I interact with are also very kind and helpful. read more

Not a fan. I called into to ask what type of clothes they are looking for before I made an appointment to sell. I knew I had open toed heels that I wanted to see and understood that it's Fall. They told me that they are buying for all seasons. I got there and the associate was rude and on top of that, I came in here for absolutely no reason. They did not buy anything. I have taken clothes in to sell to them about twice. I don't think I've had them accept any of my clothes (hmpf!). I guess I dress like Grover. With that said, I love shopping here. If you are patient and like ruffling through numerous racks and trying on random clothes for a few hours, this is your place. You can score some really cool clothes for cheap if you stick to it. I also like that they offer tokens-for-bags (or whatever it is called). You can have your clothes put in a plastic bag or just carry your clothes out in your hands. If you chose the latter, they will give you a "donation token" to put in a little bin. Your token will go towards some sort of charity. Super cool if you ask me - and I'm far from an eco-hippy. read more

I frequently donate clothes to Goodwill every few months because I seriously hate the feeling of having too much stuff! (I think I'm the opposite of a hoarder. It feels really good to declutter and have less stuff, IDK.) But if you're already on the way to Goodwill, why not try and see if you can get some cash from Buffalo Exchange?! I picked out the cutest items from my donation pile and brought them to Buffalo Exhange. The employees took a quick 5-10 minutes to peruse through my crap and ended up giving me $14 store credit! Pretty cool considering I was about to dump the haul entirely in Goodwill. Shopping-wise, this place is pretty lit. They have a ton of "trendy" clothing at discounted prices... Think Topshop, Zara, F21, H&M, Tobi, Express, Rebecca Minkoff, Steve Madden, etc. It's pretty cool and relatively organized. Everything is clean and definitely feels more modern compared to the usual musty thrift store stereotype. I found a $30 Kate Spade backpack! I didn't buy it, but it was pretty cool to find. I didn't find anything to spend my $14 on today, so I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Currently standing at the sell counter and right when I walked in it was a bad experience. They only took one of my items and pair of shoes and some other item. But the whole time the girl with long dark brown hair in pigtails was trying to explain how they pick items BUT felt like she was talking down to me as a customer. I know it's a thrift shop but her customer service was NOT IT. Also when I was checking out to get cash because at this point I already knew I would never be back the guy with the black/ blond skunk cut was very rude as well. Maybe prejudice is they vibe I was getting. I've worked in retail for over 6 years and am a supervisor myself so to be treated this way with little customer service screams, we are a business who only wants your money. I encourage those looking for real thrift fashion to look elsewhere. This place is dusty, picked over, staff will treat you differently if you don't match their style, do not recommend shopping here you will leave disappointed. read more

First timer! Brought in 4 bags of clothes. They only took 5 items, which included $40 brand new jeans and some $30 tops with tags still on it, and yet I got $17. First of all this place is very over priced. Everything they want basically needs to be freshly bought from the actual clothing stores in order for them to consider wanting to buy it. I have brought so many clothes here and they are always in the best condition (because I hardly wear them), yet they never want to buy them. I brought in a pair of rag & bone jeans which they priced for $18 when I was there only to come back the next week and find my pants for $32.
