We stopped by Shirts 'n' Things in Mesa, and this place is pretty cool! The best way I can describe it is like a massive, much better version of Hot Topic, but geared more toward people who are actually into rock, heavy metal, gothic clothing, and that whole style. First off, this store is huge, and I don't think I've ever seen so many graphic tees in one place in my entire life. Seriously, the amount of shirts they have is insane! If there's a rock or heavy metal band you like, there's a pretty good chance they have a shirt for it. They also have tons of other clothing, studded accessories, and all sorts of things that fit that rock and gothic style. They also have a really good selection of horror movie merchandise. We saw stuff from Terrifier, Scream, Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and plenty of other horror-related items. Beyond the clothing, they have some really cool décor, skulls, insect-themed decorations, and all sorts of unique things you probably aren't going to find at your typical retail store. One thing that stood out to me was the quality of everything. Nothing really looked cheap or chintzy. A lot of the merchandise seemed well made, and you could tell this wasn't just a store full of cheap novelty items. The couple of employees we crossed paths with were really nice and offered to help if we needed anything, which was appreciated. The store itself is packed with merchandise, but that's also part of what makes it fun to walk around and explore. My only minor complaint would be the prices. They're a little on the higher side, but nothing outrageous. You're definitely paying a bit of a small specialty shop premium compared to something you'd pick up at Walmart, but the selection and quality seem to make up for that. Overall, this is a really cool store, even if you're just browsing. If you're into rock, heavy metal, horror movies, or gothic-style clothing and décor, this is definitely a place worth checking out. The selection alone makes it worth a visit! read more

My boyfriend brought me here because I am all about the rock and metal music and attire. Walking in here was a great first experience. They had Disturbed playing right when I walked in. That was a sign ! I love all of the horror movie items that are here. They have everything from stickers to shirts, to purses, to boots and even things for babies. I also appreciated how 3 employees asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. I was tempted by so many things but didn't get anything this time, maybe next time. I think the prices are reasonable and definitely worth it. This store is so much better than larger chain stores imo too. I highly recommend going if you are into this vibe. read more

Been here many times and have spent hundreds of $ over the past few years here. Good selection, but DO NOT buy shoes from here if you think theres even the slightest chance youll return them. Bought shoes on a Friday, wore em for two hours till they started tearing my feet apart (I am not blaming the store for this part in the slightest). I thought oh no worries- ill exhance it for store credit since that what it says on the receipt. Chucked em back in the box with the receipt. Went to exchange/return them on Sunday- only to be told that the soles are too worn to be returned. This policy is not stated anywhere, and the receipt simply says "exchange or store credit with receipt, no cash refunds". Pretty disapppointed with his reasoning which was "I cant sell them again". Never seen such a strict return policy. Will just be purchasing straight from Demonia next time. read more

It was my first time going here and this place has a large selection of alternative fashion. I stopped by for the graphic tees and was not disappointed! There's also cool trinkets, jewelry, and other fashion pieces. Just a heads up, the store is cramped but for what they offer, it's understandable. Ive seen some reviews on here mentioning workers stalking but I noticed they need to be at certain stations to help you out. They hold your items until you're done shopping and I assume thats to prevent stealing. T-shirts are priced at $25 but so are average graphic tees. If anything, they do have clearance/sale racks to look through. Overall, great place, great selection, great workers, and okay pricing. read more

I forgot about this gem of a store. If you ever need a concert tee or any fun gadgets check this place out. Way more options than Hot Topic that's for sure and the staff and service is very helpful. read more

Cute selection but the harassing stalking by the employees ruin the vibe. It was my first time going with my relative, so ofc I'm browsing all the knick knacks, jewelry and clothing , which is apparently forbidden here?? every time I turned from a new section a couple feet away I'd be confronted with the same employee pretending to move racks around. The store is not huge and there was maybe one other person in the store. We had no bags on us (not that it should matter). The two employees and numerous cameras should be sufficient for loss prevention so it sucks to be made uncomfortable just for existing. Maybe safe if you are palm colored , idk. read more

I've been a metal head for the last 40 years! I've always wanted a Battle Vest with all the patches of bands I've seen or loved. I'm a portly fellow and could never find a vest. So we rolled into Shirts 'n' Things n started grabbing everything thing, shirts, stickers, patches and knickknacks. The owner came over and introduced himself and we struck up a conversation about music, the military and his store. I told him I wanted a vest and he grabbed looked me up and down, grabbed a vest and handed it to me. It fit perfectly. The whole crew at S&T are super friendly and cool. They also ship so check out there store! read more

Nicest employees ever, and honestly might be the coolest store i've ever been in. I walked out with like $40 of stuff. Great prices and just a so many signs and posters and shirts, everything. Made my day, definitely stop in here if you have a hour or two and twenty bucks to kill. read more

Awesome ownership and products and great customer service. I enjoy all the new shirts they have every week

Overall, it used to be a really dope and unique store. Recently, I feel the quality has gone downhill like almost every other store nowadays. There are still cool things to look at, but most of the clothes are very poor quality, printed on polyester with loose threads, lots of fast fashion, shirts that crack within 1-2 wash cycles, socks that are so thin you can see all 5 toes. $55 studded belts with PLASTIC studs. I see things in this store that I've seen on Temu ads with a $35 price tag. Not very alternative if you ask me. The employees are also very pushy and make me want to leave, constantly talking to you and following you around the store. Sad. read more

I visited this store a few days ago, and I can't recommend this store more for all your goth/heavy metal/ punk needs! (And some miscellaneous for those tagging along who aren't punk haha) What an amazing experience! Every staff member was so so approachable and friendly. They all took the time to help my girlfriend and I! Please take the time to check this place out! Love it! read more

So many fun choices here! Shirts n Things is a pretty long drive from my house, but it is well worth it for the selection of T-shirts, accessories, and shoes. The sales team here is friendly without being overbearing and they give you enough space to browse, but not to ever feel abandoned. Everyone is super helpful and knowledgeable. My young teen is living their best goth kid life right now, and loves trips to Shirts 'n' Things. They always find some thing fun representing new bands. They are into and bands I loved "back in the day"! It is fun for us to go shopping together here. read more

Where the hell do I start with this absolutely awesome place? Do I start with the horror shirts? The amount of stickers? Ruby's help with the vest and patches? Because they were all so awesome! I walked out with a Texas Chainsaw Massacre shirt, some stickers, and the start of an Eddie Munson vest, and amongst all that, I got some other cool shit as well. Ruby was even kind enough to recommend us other places to shop as well! One of those stores was a taxidermy store @_@ Thank you so much Ruby for totally making my day between the vest and the shop recommendations! read more

COOLEST T-SHIRT GIFT SHOP AROUND! AND EXTENDED SIZES FOR MALES UP TO 5x!!!! I absolutely fell in love with this store and their associates on my quick trip to Phoenix. THIER BAND SHIRT SELECTION IS TO DIE FOR! I swear to H I am not being dramatic. So many cool novelty items. Get ready to drop some money! Went to find a gift for my man who is a big dude. Was so happy when I saw they had bigger sizes and dope ass shirts. That's not always easy to come by for big dudes. There was an awesome associate who helped me pick out the perfect shirt that had a neck like a pro-club. He knew the name. I can't remember. He was so sweet. Customer service is not dead here! #gapband The girl who rang us up told us about the store and how they buy some of their merchandise from bands themselves who have leftovers from tour. The owner has been their since the 90s. I can't wait to go back to Phoenix so I can stop buy for more gems. THIS STORE IS A MUST! read more

this was our first time here and it was super cool. they have a lot of little nicknacks that anyone would like and you could find some really great gifts for other people here. They shipped my order to my house. They even sent a hand write note it was awesome. Shirts "n' Things best t-shirts place in AZ .

Found this shop looking for unique t-shirts for my nephew for X-mas. It looked a little like a 80's head shop from the outside but when you go through the door you realize what an absolute cornucopia of treasures it is. Everywhere I looked (and it is considerabley larger than it appears from outside) there was something to interest literally everyone. First I had an 'seasoned' man (nice way to say almost as old as me) help me but when telling him what the nephew listened to (by mimicry not name) he directed me to a young lady behind the counter who made some great suggestions based on the limited information I provided. I am planning to go back for some great classic rock t-shirts for my brother's birthday and have been sending customers their way from several age groups and music genres. Like I said this shop literally has things to interest darn near everyone. read more

This place is great!! The staff was very attentive, and Larry, the owner treated me like an old friend.

Really awesome store. The name pretty much says it all: they have tons of shirts (primarily band t-shirts) and tons of collectibles. You'll find posters, stickers, figurines, bags, purses, backpacks, and patches. It's similar to a Hot Topic. The employees are all very helpful. They'll package items for you and hold items up front until you're ready to pay. As much as I LOVE this store, I have two pain points. 1. The store is very claustrophobic. Best to avoid this place on weekends or else you'll be pressing bodies trying to squeeze between all the racks and shelves. 2. Lines can be enormous. I don't think I've ever been in line for less than 30 minutes. Again, I truly love this store. I plan to keep going back despite the issues noted above. read more

I found this store during a Yelp search after my son asked about goth stores in Phoenix. Yelp led me to Shirts n' Things, so we decided to take a drive and check them out. I am so glad that we did! I spent the first 30-45 minutes rummaging through their amazing poster selection. Posters ranging from current pop culture in movies and music to movies, TV shows, and icons from the 50s-80s. All posters were in alphabetical order, but I suggest browsing them all, as you might find some pleasant surprises. In addition to the paper posters, they have a bunch of cloth posters too. Once I left the poster section, I made my way around the rest of the store. There were funky-cool shower curtains, shoes, women's undies, socks, pillows, journals, puzzles, lighters, incense, knickknacks, and racks upon racks of t-shirts (from Metallica and Slayer to Lamb of God and Of Mice and Men) and patches. They sell vest and if you purchase a vest and the patches from them, they will iron on the patches for you at no additional cost (not sure if there's a limit to the number of patches they'll do for free, so be sure to inquire ahead of time). They have the coolest selection of purses and bags, which include Pokemon, The Nightmare Before Christmas, coffin, and cross bags. They have a cute selection of baby and toddler shirts too. They have about a 1/2 dozen cases (or more) of jewelry. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, skulls, crosses, animals, spikes, steel, silver, and leather. So goth, 90's Marilyn Manson just shed a tear of joy. Aside from an awesome selection of everything, the employees and the owner were all extremely nice and helpful. Be sure to sign up for their VIP club! Great family-owned store. 100x better than Hot Topic and Spencer's. I live no where near this store, but will happily return for shirts and things from Shirts n' Things! read more

Great selection of music, film and general pop culture merchandise. This is NOT Hot Topic. Lots of obscure items, posters and shirts for artists you don't easily find. They had more than 10 different Misfits shirts, random dead stock stickers. Lots of goth, punk, post-punk and industrial bands: GG Allin to KMFDM. Friendly staff and prices. Give them a visit if an Unknown Pleasures shirt from Urban Outfitters isn't your thing. read more

It's a specialty store for punk, metal, and rock merch. They have tons of band shirts, patches, posters, and miscellaneous band items ranging from money clips to blankets. They also have fashion items such as jewelry, hats, ladies clothing, boots, heels, and bags. It's a pretty neat place, I ended up staying there for awhile and went home with some Rancid, Skinny Puppy, and NOFX patches as well as a Queens of the Stone Age poster. The employees are very friendly, helpful and attentive. The prices are fair. There's also a lot of parking. So no complaints. Just wished they had more locations, this is the only one in the valley! read more

helpful kind staff. Best place to get any band tees, patches, stickers. oddities. can be kinda pricey but definitely a cool place.

This is the definition of a college boutique store (not the rah-rah stuff, but the things you talk about, and try on as a new self). It is excellent of its kind, and if you have a kid in college to shop for, worth coming to. read more

The employees really ruin this place for me. They are extremely pushy and essentially harass you the whole time you're there. They either think everyone is stealing, or they don't get paid enough and rely solely on commission, so they stalk everyone for sales. My partner and I thought it might have been targeted bc we used to go frequently but it's interesting to see that others have complained of the same. I might be willing to pay the outlandish prices if I had 2 seconds to myself to view the merchandise. I can't even focus on deciding what I want bc I'm constantly being bothered and just want to leave after 15 minutes. read more

I had such a great first experience there I knew I'd much rather give them my business than Amazon. First experience, the sales associate at the front (I wish I would have asked her name) was awesome and extremely helpful. She helped us find what we were looking for and even helped us find an item in another store (that isn't something sold here). That's when I decided I wanted a bag I saw online. But rather than order it I went to Shirts n Things to see if they had the one I wanted. They didn't have what I had asked for but SOMETHING EVEN BETTER! I was beyond thrilled. The owners were out in the store interacting with customers and so friendly. All I can say is SUPPORT LOCAL!!! Give these guys your money. Thanks read more

One of my favorite places in AZ! I have been here countless times and it's the best shop for alternative clothing/accessories, band tees, patches, posters; they honestly have everything, and a huge selection to boot! Super cool store, the owners are very friendly and they have a great selection of t-shirts and stickers.

Cool stuff, stupid expensive for cheap materials. Tried on some demonias, chain's immediately broke. Aside from it being an alt store, the environment felt pressured and the workers were damn near harassing us for sales. read more

I the store however today as well as other previous days their is one employee which I don't know his name consistently keeps asking, 'are you doing okay' makes me feel very uncomfortable and I can say it feels discriminating from the amount of times he asks as I shop. I don't like to walk in a store and be stared at and followed around.... read more

First time going. Everyone was so nice and helpful, especially Ruby. Definitely coming back for all my future band tees!

This store is a lot like Hot Topic used to be. If you like bad tees, this is the spot for you! They also have a wide array of eclectic and punk-ish shirts, jewelry, and trinkets. I found a delightful section of kitchen towels especially pleasing (and funny in a good way). They have plenty of people on hand to help you, and they're all super nice, too. Would recommend to a friend haha. read more
