1 star -- and that's only because zero isn't an option. I came in to open a store credit card. A manager -- not a regular employee, a MANAGER -- asked for my ID. I handed her my Non-Driver ID card, a perfectly valid, state-issued government ID. What happened next left me genuinely speechless. She stared at it, then looked up at me and asked, "Is this a green card?" A green card. My state-issued Non-Driver ID, issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, with the state seal on it -- she looked at it and her brain went straight to immigration status. I told her no, it's a Non-Driver ID. It doesn't have an expiration date -- which, by the way, is completely normal for this type of government ID in many states. Her response? She doubled down. Asked me AGAIN if I was sure it wasn't a green card. Let me be very clear about what happened here: a manager, someone entrusted with training and leading others, saw a Latina woman hand her an ID she didn't personally recognize, and her immediate assumption -- stated out loud, twice -- was that I must be showing her an immigration document. She has apparently never seen a green card, nor a Non-Driver ID, yet felt confident enough to question MY identity documentation not once but twice. The ignorance would almost be funny if it weren't so deeply offensive. As a proud Hispanic woman, this interaction was humiliating, infuriating, and frankly discriminatory in its assumptions. I did not come into your store to have my citizenship quietly questioned by someone who cannot identify a standard government ID. Aerie corporate needs to see this. Your management staff needs mandatory training -- not just on ID verification, but on basic human decency and the implicit biases they are apparently carrying right onto the sales floor. This is not acceptable from any employee, let alone someone in a leadership role. I will not be returning, and I will be sharing this experience everywhere I can. read more

We came here to get some Christmas gifts and ended up purchasing 2 pair of jeans ( a little pricy) but the fit was perfect so put that into consideration and purchased them. The next day I noticed them roughly $20 each cheaper. I went back and I didn't get the gentleman's name. But right away said no problem let me fix that for you! Took literally 5 minutes for him to look up the new price and do a price adjustment. No issues or attitude just genuinely happy to help and fix the issue. We have had positive experiences at this location. It is a relatively well maintained location, kept clean and orderly by the folks working here. The dressing rooms are nice but you typically have to hunt someone down to let you into one of them. There is a nice selection of items although I wish they carried larger sizes. The clothes are good quality, as you would expect. read more

We had the best experience yesterday at the San tan American eagle. I came in to make a return of an online purchase for my child and I was informed that their systems were down unfortunately. I asked if we could still do a fitting to make sure I order the right size for my child online next time and the woman said absolutely. She got a little info about style presences and sizing and went to the back to grab some jeans. During that time I sent my child to look around for some jeans as well. They brought out a pair and the woman who was helping me came out with the sizes for my child to try on. She then quietly informed me that the jeans my (masculine presenting) child picked were women's jeans. I let her know the my child uses They/Them pronouns to which she said "that is so awesome! I can find even more for them to wear!" She got us set up in the dressing room and I can only assume that she let the dressing room attendant know as well because she was very cognizant about using the correct pronouns for them. She even corrected herself when she accidentally slipped up. Both women we incredible and so helpful finding what my child wanted and we walked out with some jeans that were perfect for my child! These small gestures meant the world to me. Even more important, my child felt seen. And they even mentioned it when we left. "Wow mom, they really made a point to use my pronouns! I think I only want to shop here from now on." So thank you to AE for training your staff but more importantly, thank you to the staff at San tan for making my child feel seen and validating their existence. Extremely low quality jeans, I'd steer a different direction. I rarely make reviews but I feel like it's necessary to warn people about the quality they're getting. Nothing bad about the service at the location, everyone here is helpful. Unfortunately, I've had the experience of my jeans (which I'm sure others have had) thinning out in the crotch area & creating a hole within only a couple months. I've found that it's just a weakness in the jeans as the material stretches in this area. Which is strange because they often are a stretchy material anyways. I had gone back to the store after this occurred within a month of purchasing a pair. They were kind enough to exchange them for me at no cost. Another two months pass & just today as I begin to sit in a criss-cross position, they rip in the same exact spot with the easiest tear I've ever seen a fabric tear. This solidified it for me & I'm just never purchasing another pair of American Eagle jeans. Nothing against the customer service, but everything against the poor quality jeans that aren't necessarily cheap. Please just go somewhere else. read more

Great people. Kind and helpful staff. I also appreciated their nice changing rooms with plenty of space, whole length mirrors and lots of hanger space. The store is extensive and had a good selection. I appreciated the 60% off rack as well and some of the deals such as 2nd pair of shorts for 50% off. What seemed nice about the store was the staff helped me update my shirts without making me feel lost of out of touch. As someone over 40 it's nice to go to a clothing store and not feel completely from another century. As a man, I really appreciated this. read more

I am not sure how this location is implementing their social distancing but I waited in line for 30 minutes to enter and I counted 5 customers in there. To me that seemed a bit over cautious considering how large the location is and other AE stores allow a larger grouping inside. When I asked the kid who was working the door and marshalling out orders on who could enter what the occupancy rules were he didn't have an answer for me: he mumbled something then turned around. He was rude and questioned my return, the girl at the register was super sweet, my return was for an online order and I didn't have my AE card, but I figured we could just return to that account. I absolutely love the customer service at this location! I've come here many times looking for jeans and I have always walked out with a few pairs that I adore! My last experience in the store emphasized why I prefer this location. I ripped my favorite pair of work jeans (high waisted, dark wash, with no distressing) earlier in the day. I brought in my ripped jeans because I wanted the same ones. Sadly, they were no longer available. I was shown ones that were almost identical to my previous jeans. I tried them on and they fit perfectly. They were having a BOGO 1/2 off sale, so I decided to get a second pair. They only had the one pair in my size, but were able to order the second pair and ship it to my home for free! read more

I like the clothing here. I'm not a big fan of having a store's name plastered across my body in 4" lettering. They do have some of that here, but they also have some nice stuff with a small eagle logo. Simple, understated, and nice. And the quality seems better than some of their competitors (especially that French-sounding competitor that really loves the 4" lettering on practically everything they sell). Come during a sale and you'll get a good deal on decent clothing. They have everything from jeans that look like they're ready for the rubbish bin (I know holes in jeans are fashionable again, but they still look like they're ready to be tossed if you ask me!), to nice collared shirts you could wear to work or a nice evening out. Nothing formal, but most everything else from grunge to office casual. If you buy clothes anticipating to toss them in a few months because you've already worn them a few times and want something "different", the quality here probably won't matter to you. If you plan to wear it for a few years, the quality here should be a major consideration for you, in my opinion. I just wish they had a nice wallet on this visit...I'm looking for one...[sigh] read more

Love American Eagle Outfitters because it is kind of a one stop shop for me and my family. I can find stuff for my self and the kids. If you are a member of their online and email program you get some awesome coupons and that really helps with the prices which I think I wouldn't pay unless I had the coupons ( I am a coupon shopper for sure!). The reason I didnt go all out and go 5 stars for this location is for customer service. They always seem short handed. I am always searching for someone to let us in the dressing room or standing in a pretty long line to make a purchase..that seems a little odd in such a small location. read more

I will never order from American Eagle online ever again simply for one reason: they use an extremely shady, horrible shipping company called On Trac. It has been over a week from delivery date, and I never received my package. On Trac's delivery simply keeps updating daily as "delayed," and in "transit." There is no explanation of where it is or when it will be delivered. After reading the huge amount of horrible reviews about On Trac shipping, I have concluded that American Eagle is probably using this company to save money, which means they care nothing at all about their customers or ensuring their shipments acutally arrive to their destinations. read more

First off this was the first time I've gone in store to buy, I've done online shopping. I've also never bought for myself, only others. I had a part of AE jeans that someone had given me, that I loved the perfect fit. That's what I came in for. I took a picture of the tag and label inside the jeans I had. We walked in the store shortly after opening. The store was messy and not organized. I looked for a while before anyone offered to help. The employee was in sunglasses and a dirty green Sweat shirt, I did even know they were an employee. I showed them my picture. They picked up a part of jeans and said this was the one I wanted. Tags were not the same, I tried them on. I did like the jeans. Stood in line to pay for about 15 minutes. Other customers left the line, the wait was too long. As I got closer I noticed the 1 employee was cashing people out and 2 others were standing off to the side talking. Finally my turn to pay. The cashier, was the same person that found my jeans had the longest fake nails on that the struggled to open bags, count change back, and put change in my hand. Asking for help from another employee that was eating and drinking a Starbucks. This was some of the worst customer service I've ever experience. No welcome in, no hi, no how did those jeans work, no sorry for the wait, and no bye. AE you need to do better in store. I'll stick to online! read more

But, if you go to the sale section, they have a bunch of stuff with stickers that say "sale," but they don't have the decency to actually list the sale price on the tag. This is why I left the store. So on Sunday I was at the store searching for a particular size and color of jean. A very sweet young lady helped me. Her name was London. She pulled many different washes and styles of jeans. And sizes too.m, to compare. Well it ended up i would have to order what i needed and wait. Well one of the other girls who was folding found the exact size and color i was going to have to order....45 min later i was checking out and realized I had to cancel my debit card earlier because of some fraud charges. And i had wanted a top also. I told her i had cash to pay for my top and would put the jeans back. She was so sad because it took me forever to find them. She offered to pay for them. I was shocked!!! I said No. i can't let you. And why would you do that for me? She said yes please let me. I said no again. She insisted. So she paid for them. Got me a discount and everything. I don't usually review stores like this for some reason, but I've visited this location a few times now and the customer service has always exceeded my expectations, especially when it comes to exchanges and returns. Twice I've needed to exchange online orders and both times I've been impressed by how quickly and professionally they've handled this, both times reordering my replacement items right there in the store when they weren't available, and for the same price I paid.
