In all of my shopping adventures at The Rack, I've found each day can be hit or miss. Some days they have very little selection of high quality clothing and other times I've seen $700 high-end designer dresses marked down to $30. They key, I've found, is to go on the days when their new merchandise arrives straight from Nordstrom. I somehow got on the Nordstrom mailing list, which I don't mind because they send postcards with the dates of these fashion events when new shipments arrive. These are the dates when the best selection of designer clothing comes straight from Nordstrom. So, if you can make it a point to show up, you're bound to find what you're looking for at a bargain. read more

I've visited this location several times, and agree with Julie that it's hit-or-miss. But I guess that's how most of these outlet-type stores are. While the selections of jeans, sweaters, shoes and purses are OK, I think this is a great place to come for dresses. If you have a wedding or some big cocktail party to go to, you can get a really good deal on dresses. I have no reason to buy any, but still find myself browsing through the dress racks whenever I come here! read more

A bit "messy" than the other Nordstrom Racks I have visited (I'm spoiled). But maybe because I went on a weekend. Friendly & speedy checkout despite the lines! I love their new eco-friendly "email your receipt" option! Good shoe selection (not as many as Scottsdale location), nice assortment of clothes & tons of sunglasses. You've got to be in the right frame of mind to go to Nordstrom Rack. It's not your typical outlet store; you're not going to get amaaaazing deals and walk out the door with thousands of dollars of merchandise for twenty bucks. Rather, you'll pay mid-line prices for designer merchandise. $700 Armani suit? $300 at the Rack. $600 Burberry sportcoat? $250 at the Rack. $30 pair of designer underwear? $10 at the Rack. Sometimes the selection's awful. As of this week it looks like an Affliction factory threw up all over the men's section. (Though apparently they're catering to their market, as half the guys there were already wearing at least one piece of Affliction clothing.) But sometimes... sometime's it's freaking awesome. You walk in, and there is the perfect new piece of clothing, nestled carelessly among the Ed Hardy and Affliction. And you buy it, for a very reasonable price, and you enjoy it. I only wish I'd known about the Rack before I bought a crappy suit at Men's Wearhouse for the price of an awesome suit at Nordstrom Rack. read more

Well, it's a Nordstrom Rack. Same business model as all of the others, same level of service, varying choice of merchandise (depends on when they get a truck). I will say that I needed a tie and pocket square for a wedding I was going to - I was not left disappointed when the store clerk directed me back to the section to find them. As it's a NR, there was a long line (seems to always happen) but they did a good job of keeping it moving, using their hand flags to indicate when the register is ready for another customer. Keep in mind though - the line starts in one place despite the two lines of registers. Some customers get irate if you jump it and will promptly alert you to your 'crime.' This store is hit and miss, but if you've got the time and the patience to search, you can find some treasures. I especially like the makeup and denim sections, while I have never once found a "deal" on a pair if shoes here- better prices can be had during sales at the department stores. I love that I can add a new designer item to my wardrobe for a fraction of the cost, even if it was from last season (who cares?). They don't sell any racks, but what they do sell surprised me. I walked in and was greeted by a case of watches contain some decent movado and TX watches and the prices were pretty good too. More surprising was the fact the sales person knew about the TX watch, and obscure offshoot of timex. I also found they they have one of the best hat selections around and I was quite pleased to find a nice hat and it was just $20. I noticed with much of the clothing and shoes that even at 1/2 off it can still be a bit steep with the high starting prices. 75% of the store floor space is allocated to womens clothing and I can not comment much on that. The one thing I did hate was the checkout line, I hate lines and it seemed awkwardly placed. read more

This location was just remodeled. Very clean. Checkout line is much more efficient now. I am a somewhat lanky and skinny guy. Finding button down shirts that fit perfectly is a chore. The Nordstrom brand has a slim fit that fits me the best of any shirt I've found. The Rack is a hit or miss kind of place. I say about 25% of the time I go in, I walk out with a bag in my hand. But when I have a bag in my hand, it's full of super discounted, quality gear. You can not judge this place by 1 visit. Sorry to any reviewer who poorly ranked The Rack after only 1 visit. You need to go a few times. Since their inventory fluctuates based upon what is at Nordstrom, and what season it is, sometimes it's a gold mine and sometimes its a land mine. Great selection and great prices. I especially find their shoe department to be the place to find bargains. Too names in clothing and they hold up very well. I have had no problems returning any item and love the Nordstrom debit card option. That rewards check is a lovely mailbox surprise! I have a shopping problem and Nordstrom Rack certainly doesn't help with that. I really love this store, it has everything you could ever want, but at prices that won't make you stay away like that floor at Nordstrom that you know better than to go on. You KNOW which one I'm talking about. I have found some awesome stuff here, from hair product to coats to make up to designer jeans. I have found designer shoes for practically nothing and super in style! I really love that they keep the selection up and their sales are generally massive. The reason I gave this store only three stars is because the last time I was in there I happened to take my stuff to a little counter that sits amongst the racks to make it more convenient for those paying with credit cards. As I'm there the guy can't scan some hair product so I offer to go grab another one while he finishes ringing up my other things. When I come back there's this obnoxiously rude blonde girl ringing up someone else and practically pushing me out of the way. She would NOT move. While my stuff was on the counter. Being rung up. Before she ever got there. I was fuming. She was so up in my purchase that the guy ringing me up forgot to take a safety tag off as skirt so of course the alarm goes off. Thanks, rude girl. Anyway, I love this store, but you sometimes have to search for really good deals and then there's the rude blonde chick. Other than that it's a super sweet indulgence! read more

Oh goodness, where to start! This was my first time in Nordstrom Rack. Maybe I should have expected what I walked in to, but I wasn't ready! Shoes piled on top of shoes. Not a soul around to help. Just dig in and hope you find something you like. And if you do, don't spend time looking for the mate. The mate is locked up in the back and you have to ask someone to bring it to you. Crazy! That craziness isn't why they are only receiving three stars however. The checkout process was ridiculous! Two registers open with high maintenance customers leaving the line growing and not a manager or another employee in sight. Multiple customers dropped their items and walked out and I was close to doing so as well. Quite frustrating and just a sign of poor management. read more

I am a fan of the Good American Good Waist jeans. I have purchased 3 pairs in the past at the regular Nordstrom store (paid full price which is quite pricey) so when I received my bonus spending reward online from Nordstrom Rack from my 2019 purchases (I purchased athletic shoes, tote bags and jackets online ... around $1,000 last year), I was going to definitely use it before it expired. I searched the Nordstrom Rack online website and found Good American jeans in the exact style and size that I wear/own 3 pairs of but in a different shade of blue. I placed the online order using my bonus spending rewards. A week later (which was delayed twice), I received the shipment and opened ... the jeans looked extremely small. I got my other 3 pairs out and measured ... the ones that came from Nordstrom Rack the waist was 2.5" smaller and the legs were different size widths (no wonder they were drastically reduced). I brought the 3 pairs of the Good American jeans into the Nordstrom Rack store in Chandler along with the Good American jeans that I ordered online from Nordstrom Rack to return and showed the sales associate the huge difference in sizing. She issued a gift card for the amount minus shipping. I questioned this and informed her that I want to oder a larger size since the sizing apparently is off a couple of sizes (must be irregulars even though the merchandise and tags did not show irregular) and asked her if she can place the order for me so the shipping is waived since she took the refund was less the shipping I originally paid and I would not be returning if the size was true to size. She told me that she could not issue a refund for the shipping. I asked her to call customer service and explain to them how off the jeans that were shipped were plus they were over a week late in the confirmed delivery (and showed her the emails on my phone showing they missed two confirmed delivery dates) and customer service would not take this into consideration. Customer service told me that they would put a note in my file and my next order I would have to call to have this waived. Not sure I like this answer and now am skeptical of ordering clothing items especially pants if the items are that irregular from the regular merchandise they sell at Nordstrom. I always received excellent service at Nordstrom but Nordstrom Rack is a totally different store, does not have the same exceptional quality of merchandise or customer service. I also filled out the online survey stating all of the above with no response whatsoever. I guess I will have to spend my money elsewhere. read more

Please visit this Nordstrom Rack location if you would like to be racially profiled. I used to shop at this location for years as this was my closest Nordstrom Rack. During my recent visits with my small child, I have been followed and treated as if I have stolen something. I witnessed the manager of the store following me throughout my visit. When I asked to speak to someone about this, well lo and behold, it was the manager who was following me all along. When I confronted her, she told me "I was looking for earrings for a wedding, I wasn't following you." Please tell me what manager shops while on duty??? On my most recent visit to return an item for my husband. I had a receipt, tags and the original box and the return was still scrutinized. The cashier (who made no eye contact with me) sought out a manager to review the item even though I had all the items showing proof of purchase. I had two other items that I was going to purchase and decided to leave them because of this experience. Nordstrom, while you're following a mom trying to wrangle her toddler and shop or scrutinizing a receipt, perhaps you should pay attention to other individuals who are actually committing theft. I have been a loyal Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and Haute Look customer for years and will no longer support Nordstrom after these experiences. read more

Purchased a Nike jacket here but the stitching unraveled on the sleeve almost immediately. I remembered that Nordstrom has an excellent return policy so I came to exchange my jacket for one that the stitching isn't unraveling. The clerk was rude and informed me that once an item has been worn it cannot be returned or exchanged. I love this store and the staff that works there. I've had the unfortunate experience of returning an online order with a young Asian man with glasses that after the return was finished, I've noticed an error in what items were returned. When I noticed it and asked the gentleman to correct, there were no words of "sorry for the mistake", or anything along those lines. Made no eye contact and being raised with manners, I said "thank you" as I left the store. The next time I'm at the store and see this young man, I will let the person behind me be serviced by him and go to the next register. read more

UPDATE : I received a phone call from their corporate headquarters. She apologized for how I was treated but defended their actions by claiming that they're "following CDC guidelines" by insisting that I either put on a mask or leave the store. Let me tell you why her answer is unacceptable - because EVERY other place I have walked into with a face shield on instead of a mask including COSTCO, Fry's, the cleaners, my job, countless restaurants, Target, the mall, etc... allowed me to shop and/or conduct buisness in their establishment. I had a hair appointment yesterday and I decided to try to wear a mask under my face shield but 15 minutes into my appointment I became Lighted headed, almost passed out and had to rush to the bathroom due to becoming physically sick. Thankfully my hairdresser told me I could remove the mask because YES common sense still matters and COVID-19 is not the only disease we need to be concerned about. Needless to say I will NEVER shop at a nordstrom store as long as they continue to treat people poorly who cannot comply with their mandate. read more

I think you can get bargains here, but what really angers me is that employees have first dibs on items. I asked about Red Bottom shoes and I was told "by an employee" that the Red Bottom shoes are intercepted by employees in the shoe department and are hidden until the end of the day and the Nordstrom employees buy them--what? Really? Yes, really! Come on Nordstrom even Goodwill employees do not get first dibs. read more

For people like me this is perfect, I don't really care about the absolute most current style trends, and would prefer to spend money on fun, trips, or other stuff. Great place for the tall guy! I think the chain goes something like this... - Nordstrom Stores sell the current season inventory. - Returns and season closeouts are sent to "The Rack" at discounted prices. - That which does not sell at the Rack, is sent to "Last Chance" to be run through at the lowest prices. At least that's the way I understand it in AZ. I love the joint because I can get unhemmed pants here for a reasonable price. Not cheap, but reasonable. read more

So, helpful with helping me find a different size in these shorts I loved,but couldn't remember where I found them. They had a great selection of designer denim and everything else I love. Addicted to the hunt! Rack is the outlet of Nordstrom however they do have current styles in stores now. It's hit or miss, as with any discount store, however I just head straight for the sale racks. Sometimes you can find some amazing deals, (Cashmere sweater - originally $248, sale $19, Sam Edelman sandals $14, etc) you just have to be patient, check in often and cross your fingers. read more

ZERO STARS Worst Nordstrom rack experience ever. I shop at Nordstrom for a ton of stuff and most of my clothing items come from here. That being said I'll drive the extra distance to go to Tempe or Scottsdale. I went during clear the rack promotion and I was there shopping for a while. I didn't realize it till time had gone by but the announcement was made that store would be closing. I made my way to the front with a very full cart. I was the last customer in line and the last one to leave the store. I got to the front and was forced to deal with Loretta which is where my trouble started. I don't know who hired this lady but I have never met anyone so rude in my entire life. She clearly was upset that heaven forbid the last customer has a ton of stuff to ring out. She started scanning in a fury and was grumbling through the whole process. She insisted that I separate clearance items and remove my own hangers so the store could close. That is absurd but at the time I didn't mind she was scanning and bagging so fast that I couldn't keep track of the prices going into bag. I'm finally finished I cough up about 1000$. I head through the doors and the sensors go off and Loretta makes her co-workers (who were really nice) look through my bags to make sure all the sensors were removed. Half an hour later I'm finally leaving. Only to get home and realize almost my entire receipt is incorrect everything from being overcharged to missing items and somehow I ended up with a shoe missing. The next day I just returned it all I didn't need the hassle of trying to fix my receipt. I won't shop at this location ever again. LORETTA is a BEAST so steer clear if you choose to shop here. Find anyone but her because the experience will ruin Nordstrom for you. Tempe and Scottsdale are about to be my go to locations. read more

Like any discount retailer, the Rack is hit or miss. But when its a "hit", oh my, get ready to shop! I have found great deals on sunglasses ($30 for my favorite pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs shades), jeans (under $100 for Seven, Citizen, etc) and shoes (including my beloved pair of Franco Sarto peep toes that I snagged for $35). Great customer service. Cheap branded items. A lot of good buys, specially if you like a certain name brand, this is a place to go. Of course some items tend to be still pricey but hey that's why it's a name brand item. Their jewelries are amazing. Juicy Couture stuffs are the bomb here. As a "dude," or "bro," or "filthy smelly rugby player" I really shouldn't like this place. And yet my inner case of "fabulous" loves Nordstrom Rack. My girlfriend, I think it is safe to say, has a bit of a shopping problem. I think if it weren't for the fact that this place is on the opposite side of the sun from us here in Phoenix that she'd be in there every weekend. I should give it zero stars for the number of times I've been subjected to "honey, I need to go shopping." And don't get me wrong, the first couple of times I found somewhere to camp out on the floor and settled into a good pout. Then, I think on the third or so forced Bataan death march to Nordstroms by the shopping slave master general that I live with, I found myself off of my ass, putting my phone in my pocket, and walking around trying not to be seduced by Nordstrom's very reasonably priced wares. So here's the short and sweet of it, if you're a dude/bro/dirt ball like myself, and you are lucky enough to have someone who likes you enough to take you out in public, you might as well enjoy yourself, maybe even let your significant other show you what to buy so you're socially acceptable when you meet her friends/family/co-workers/fellow dog nuts/colleagues/people she'll claim you as hers/his in front of them. Trust old Uncle Ian on this one guys, it will help you out down the road. Also, if you're looking to score some bonus points, drop the look of loathing and remorse when you're here. I am just as guilty, if not more so, than you are. I know that look we all give each other when we're there, sort of that "please Baby Jeebus, kill me now" look we give to one another as guys. A hint: you lady can see it, mine has told me as much. So even if you have to "fake it til you make it" try to look up beat when looking at the 1,324,744th pair of shoes on discount. And now I have a lot of new clothes that don't make me look like I robbed a homeless male prostitute for my wardrobe, which I think is a good thing. read more

I purchased a pair of Paige jeans in March 2018 and if anyone is like me, I don't always immediately wear them. So they sat in my closet with tags still on of course until this morning. I wore them to work and by 3pm, I have a large hole by the zipper (not the best look while at work) and all of the seams on the legs are separating. I called Nordstrom Racks corporate and inquired about an exchange and they basically laughed and spent five minutes telling me why it didn't make sense for them to restock this item. She referred me to a store and that's what brings me to this review. I called in and spoke to a Kim and told her my story, well half of it because mid way through she blurted out 45 days. I said excuse me and she repeated 45 days was their return policy and that was it. Caught off guard and a little displaced by the lack of customer service from Nordstrom Rack to not even hear me out. I'm not asking for my money back but an even exchange as these pants cost $100. I usually buy all of my Paige jeans at Nordstrom Rack but the return/exchange policy or the lack there of turns me off especially because I normally don't wear my clothes immediately. Yesterdat they were having a problem with their scanners they use throughout the stars by the clerks to allow for easy and quick paying via credit cards.
