The worst designed parking lot I've ever seen. It's so small and any time of the day it's absolutely packed. Smallest parking lot for a Walmart I've ever seen. They have parking on the side but no door so everyone has to walk in the heat to the other side of the building just to enter. Terrible design inside and out. read more

If I have to go to any Walmart location this is the one! I stopped here because it's easy in and out! It's a smaller location but, I can find everything here easily, because of the way it's set up. It's a bit claustrophobic but, if you're running in and out this is the spot! I was shocked to see that they didn't have "Lysol Mold" which is for cleaning up. I find it funny, that if you're holding things in each hand at the self checkout that, the self check out circles the one you haven't scanned yet, on the screen. All I can say about this location is it's a Walmart I was pleasantly surprised if I'm ample parking it wasn't way far out from the store And other than the fact that the little auto corrals that they did not let me in for about 15 seconds longer than I had anticipated the visit was great My son did encounter a problem in the bathroom There was clothing all over the floor that was covered in human excrement He said he wasn't quite sure what was going on and then two employees stepped out one of the stalls and he very quickly took care of his business and scooted out there but I don't blame the store for that read more

They need to teach their shoppers how to pick the correct produce and not always pick the worst looking. It seems everytime i get produce it goes bad in a day or two because it's the bruised or oldest fruits and vegetables. I wouldn't call this a supercenter. Maybe a Wal-Mart seed. It's tiny but mighty. They have packed a lot of merchandise into a small place, and you can find nearly everything you need. They do have supplies for school, food, bicycles and clothes. But in the world's tiniest place. Well the Wal-Mart next to ASU is smaller, but this would be an easy 2nd. But don't hesitate to come in to look for your items. I'll bet they have 8 out of 10. Nice helpful staff. Store is really clean. Restroom open to the public. No overnight parking. read more

I went to this Wallmart to pickup some work socks. The ones I needed were locked in a display case. I heard one of your employees in the next aisle opening another display case for another customer. I walked over and asked if when she was finished, could she open the case I needed opened. She looked at me like I was was the worst person in the world for asking her for help. She then told me to press the button on the display case and someone would show up shortly. She then walked away with the other customer to the front of the store. I pressed the button and after waiting for 20 minutes I asked 2 other sales people for help and never did see anyone who could help me so I left. Thank God for Amazon the socks will be delivered tomorrow. Looks like you have lost me as a customer but by the actions of your employees it looks to me like nobody cares. read more

Weirdest lay out ever at a Walmart. I felt like I was in a shopping center corn maze and I ended up having to ask for directions to the same thing multiple times. I can't complain. I found the 2 things I was looking for, the bathroom and fish food. The fish food I wasn't expecting to actually find at a Walmart but I did and I'm glad I didn't have to go back to the pet store today after my daughter threw a little temper tantrum in there a little bit ago and our fish really need food. I was also happy to find a three pack of the big containers of lysol wipes for only $9.99. They had a whole bunch on an end cap. Check out was the fastest ever at a Walmart so maybe the layout works for that. Everyone's busy being lost for a while before they even think of checking out. read more

Not any of you LAZY ASSES I shop her for my groceries almost every month, first problem is waiting by the formula for babies, that alone takes about 25-30 minutes, to finally get someone over there, then they take it upfront and it's a wild hose chance to find out we're they put it upfront. Second this place is no we're close to friendly, employees don't want to help you find something and if you ask for help it's like it's a burden for them to take the time out of there shift( in witch they get payed for) to help you find something, because third this is this store is set up so weird. Holy Ghetto Walmart! Upon entering the parking lot of this Walmart you find 2 Tempe police squad vehicles one who is a sergeant supervisor in car 754 standing in front. Upon being greeted by a normal Citizen the sergeant looks at me like I'm an idiot for even looking at him. So much for community oriented policing. This store is packed with college kids and more people with pink, green or other crazy hair color than I have ever seen. Then come the seemingly homeless wandering with other less desirable types... On a good note there was a 40 something female worker that was super friendly and helpful, I wish I knew her name to giver a positive shout out. Walmart's Angus Premium Choice Beef- Best Value Beef Without doubt " Walmart's Angus Premium Beef" is the best value for beef of all the big box grocery stores including Fry's, Safeway, Basha's, Sprout's, and Trader Joe's. Cost: About $12-$15 per pound for rib eye, top sirloin, and porterhouse. Melt in your mouth. My favorite is the center cut top sirloin. Cook that on the stove in olive oil, season with salt and pepper and then de glaze with a buttered red wine sauce. I would go as far to say that in a blind taste test this steak would match up with any top steak house in the valley. Only culinary experts would be able to disseminate between a $15 Angus Premium steak and that of Ruth Chris, Fleming's or others. In comparison when I look at Fry's which I never buy doesn't even look like beef to me. That's just my opinion. Second place goes to Safeway. They seem to have pretty good quality beef comparatively speaking. Sprout's is way over priced and the quality to me is much lower than that of Walmart's or Safeway's beef. In addition, many times the meats including the steaks are marked down 30% if close to the best buy dates an extra value. Look for the yellow mark down stickers. read more

But you have to do what you have to do when you're in a pinch and of course the only good thing about Walmart is it's open almost all the time. Just a heads up on the Walmart on Southern and Rural. I discovered today, it is store policy not to take back or exchange any item without a receipt. Even it's a Walmart branded item. In my case, a small can of sunscreen, used once, with a defective nozzle. And every store's policy is based on current management's decision. Unfortunately, they don't post anywhere what the store policy is on returns or exchanges. So, hang on to your receipt, just in case. read more

Staying at a hotel in Tempe for the holiday week. Wanted to stock our room fridge with some essentials. This Walmart did have the basics, but I have to tell you it is poorly organized - not in layout, but in items everywhere out of place. Besides that the carts were in such bad shape (squeaky wheels or wheels that were so gunked up with hair they didn't turn well - I swear one wheel was worn square already), we traded ours for other vacant ones in the aisles twice. Why are there unattended carts everywhere? Probably because they all suck. Got the job done, but I have to say my hometown WI Walmarts are cleaner, have nicer carts, are better organized, and have overall more in stock. At least I'm not here on vacation for the grocery shopping. read more

Walmart Tempe - E Southern Ave this morning I went to return a primo bottle of water that was leaking for a new one. The manager Hector was interfering w the customer service rep harassing me that he needed a manager name of who I had spoken to on the phone - because it was needed - even though I had a receipt. He then was asking if I bought the bottle there. When I told him I didnt remember the managers name but I had a receipt he still continued to give me a hard time. When I asked to speak to another manager he failed to ask for one. It was the customer service representative who called someone else per my request. She was very helpful; however, this guy was a jerk and then telling me to calm down and not have an attitude because I was telling him it didnt matter who I spoke to since I had a receipt and a defected product. Walmart this is the third time I've had quite an experience in returning items. Another time I returned a folding table - although the table was in the cart and on the receipt on my phone - the rep kept requesting I go find a new table w the packaging because she couldn;t confirm it was the same table! lol.-Mesa And then we have the one on Elliot where although it was an online item - she would not return even though the sign says accepts returns. Please , please train your people right. We go there for convenience and great prices. But sometimes some of your folks know how to ruin an experience. Today's experience was very upsetting as I was already running late with work and dealing with other personal issues. The last thing I needed was to be harassed by your manager because he had nothing better to do and poor customer service skills. I also had other shopping to do but ended up going to Frys instead because I just didnt have the time to deal w that today. I purchased a SIM kit and prepaid plan from their entertainment department. I was having some difficulty getting my device activated so I returned to the store for some assistance. The associate told me that they are not allowed to help with the cellular services. I told him other stores have helped me in the past. I left in a pretty upset mood that I let him know about. He didn't bother to explain to me that a vendor representative would be there later that would be able to assist me. I can understand if they aren't trained on the cellular devices, but don't let a customer leave pissed off like that. An explanation would have helped out tremendously. I'd have to say that the associates of walmart are not very helpful at times and don't give a crap about how a customer feels. read more

I really don't expect much from any Walmart, but this location still never fails to disappoint. This store must have a serious problem with inventory loss and I'm shocked Tempe PD doesn't have a substation here. At any given time, you are being video recorded on at least a half a dozen cameras. Anything that hasn't been locked up in a glass case has a high chance of having been opened up and/or pilfered/used. If what you are looking for is locked up in a glass case, best of luck on getting an associate to unlock it for you! They have buttons that are reputed to summon help, but they are just there for suckers. This store would seem to hire a lot of people, but then again, this Walmart is strictly self-service only. So when it's time to finalize your purchases and try to leave this third circle of hell, be prepared to stand in line and then get to work checking yourself out. As was stated by others this is a much smaller Walmart than usual. I was rather shocked when I saw how small the baby section was. My daughter got diaper wipes and I found some eggnog, which I was out of, but they had no maternity bras which was the thing we had gone in for . I guess if you just need basics this would be an OK place to shop but not if you needed a wide variety to choose from. The parking lot seemed kind of small to me with very short rows. The bad news is it will fill up a lot faster in the holidays. The good news is that you don't have to walk very far from your car to the entrance. When I read that this store had gone in where a Mervyns went out, I understood why it didn't look like other Walmart parking lots. read more

Last evening while shopping to buy our grandchildren an Easter gift, my wife's wallet was stolen from her purse in the shopping cart. Store manager and security offered no assistance to recover my wife's wallet. They said there was nothing they could do. More like there was nothing they wanted to do. They have security cameras all over the store and parking lot, but Walmart was unwilling to review them. My wife lost everything last night. Money, credit cards, driver's license, photos and much more. We are appalled at Walmart's lack of concern for their customer's. Sam Walton founded a values-driven company grounded in four core values: respect, service, excellence, and integrity. None of this exists at this store. Awesome customer service from James 'the bicycle builder ' and Glenn the manager. They went all-the-way to get the bike that I wanted. The bike was stocked at the warehouse and Glenn made sure to have it for me the following day at noon. Literally 15 hrs later. Thanks Glenn and James!!
