Honestly the best part of this store is the layout and the employees. That said, this is my least favorite store to stop at; it's always packed, produce is always lackluster and overpicked and a lot of food is routinely out of stock. The meat counter is never open at the proper hours because they are understaffed. Later at night they close off half the self check out lanes and you can expect LONG lines down the aisle just to check out. The parking lot isn't the easiest to get out of either in a safe and efficient matter (have to cross multiple lanes of traffic). The store on rural and southern is a better shopping experience. read more

The customer service is unbelievably terrible, they would not let me return 2 items. I wanted an exchange for 1 product that was rotten and another that was unopened and I simply got the wrong flavor. Total refund or exchange would have been $8. Even without a receipt and with my VIP card they wouldn't do it. Lucy was so discomforting and mean, refused to get a manager. I went to the other frys on Rurul and they had NO PROBLEM exchanging my items. It's a smaller store but has a decent selection for the most part. Lines can be pretty long and they rarely have more than 1 self-check out section and 1-2 register lines open because no one wants to hire enough workers anymore. Came here late on a Wednesday night and the place was busy. This is Arizona's Kroger store. Same as the Ralph's stores in Southern California. I do love the Kroger brands. It is sometimes the store. Like the California stores, the most in demand items can be out of stock. It was later in the day and shelves probably needed restocking. It seemed there were some strange players in the store during my quick trip. That is my biggest concern when I travel. Not sure this was the right place to shop after dark. read more

I had ordered balloons for a graduation through door dash around 4pm and had it scheduled for pickup at 7. Around 7:30 I checked the status of my order and noticed that their door dash was disabled and called to ensure my order was still being made. They had said they didn't see it and I noticed my dasher was on the way to pick it up so I told them I'm sure it's fine. Shortly after I receive a call around 7:30 stating that the balloons I got for a graduation weren't in stock (why were they shown on their availability for door dash) and that they didn't expect to need them so soon as they were focused on mother's day. After I had asked if other balloons were available and was told nobody could inflate them. I just don't understand why for 3 hours nothing was mentioned about my order at all when I could have checked other stores and ordered from there. As it was too late I took whatever they had had available. Store needs better online management and for their takeout/online orders should be given attention so issues like this shouldn't happen. read more

This store is disgusting. Fry's treats it like a ghetto store but charges the same prices as the Signature Fry's stores in Scottsdale and Gilbert. Empty shelves is a regular occurrence. Maybe one register open which means you always have to do the self-checkout. The store is dirty and gross. The carts are nasty and sticky. The parking lot is always dirty with drug scum people hanging out. And when you pull out of the parking lot, there's always a panhandler begging for money. Fry's, if you don't want to make this store meet at least minimum standards, maybe you should just close it. Plus, I ALWAYS have to check expiration dates on everything (even pantry items), because they sell a lot of stuff that is right at the expiration date. This is just sad and disgusting. read more

PHARMACY STAFF NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVOIR AND LIES. I am in the process of transferring ALL prescriptions from the Mill Ave pharmacy 3232 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe. Don't go to this pharm. for your prescriptions and STAY AWAY from the "PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, ANGRY" pharmacy cashier "GI-GI". GI-GI was RUDE and displayed the greatest lack of Customer service I have ever experienced. My interaction with GI-GI left me so stressed, that I cut my communication with her short because I just wanted to end the verbal tit for tat over my prescription and leave!! Not only did I leave stressed, but the tit for tat in my opinion caused an important element in my pharmacy visit to be severely overlooked. GI-GI and the pharmacist LIED to cover their butts and as a patient I was out of pocket An additional $37 for a prescription that I had already paid for in a lower milligram dosage, which INCORRECTLY. Given to by GI-GI who engaged in a verbal "tit for tat" and in the end she DID NOT do her job which was to confirm that she was giving me the correct dosage. It's one thing for a pharmacy to make a mistake but it's another for a person to not take responsibility for their part of a verbal exchange that caused questions re: which dosage (30 or 60 mgs to be missed by the pharmacy cashier. I did not feel that GI-GI was listening to me as a patient. She refused to answer my initial question re: an incorrect Dr.'s office on my profile. She continued asserting her question about the milligram dosage of the prescription I was picking up. She never confirmed that I should have been picking up the 60 mg and gave me the 30mg as a new Prescription. The pharmacist on duty then lied to his manager SAM and said that he gave me a consultation because it was a new prescription, but I was NEVER given a consultation re: the med because I was busy trying to get out of the pharmacy because my interaction with GI-GI was so unpleasant. I asked the manager SAM to look at the video footage to prove that the pharmacist DID NOT GIVE ME A CONSULTATION. I repeatedly shared with the Pharmacy how my thyroid issue was getting worse, because I had to double up on the 30mgs. Tabs, which has caused swelling and soreness in my glands, and an overall ill sluggish feeling which is the result of the 30mgs prescription. SAM'S pharmacy staff made several errors with my Thyroid medicine, and when confronted I felt that my sharing of my health concern because of their error, was met with a COMPLETE DISRGARD!! And NOT ONCE did any of the people mentioned say, "I am sorry that this was your experience, and were sorry this happened, but let us try to fix it!" NO APOLOGY FROM AMY, (the Pharmacy supervisor), SAM, the Pharmacy Manager (who I had to wait for 1 1/2 weeks to talk to) GI-GI (the RUDE ANGRY pharmacy cashier) or the pharmacist that lied about giving me the consultation. I DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF AT THIS PHARMACY, and I would not trust the tall, dark medium length haired male pharmacist, and I would not trust Gigi with my prescriptions. IN THE END IF THERE IS AN ERROR WITH YOUR PRESCRIPTION, THEY WILL LIE TO PROTECT EACH OTHER AND DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR HEALTH AS A PATIENT. I have ESCALATED my complaint and have gotten a great response from the KROGER CUSTOMER CONNECT Supervisor (1-800-KROGERS 1-800-576-4377). I am awaiting an email contact from the KROGER Corporate office. I am asking that everyone involved (AMY, GI-GI, SAM, and the LYING PHRAMACIST) be investigated, video footage be reviewed, and if my complaints are corroborated as true, that the staff will be HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their unfortunate behavior, and perhaps they can be trained in how to service the customer instead of covering their butts, and that this dishonest, unhelpful, rude behavior wont be allowed to happen to any other patients. read more

Yup, it's Fry's. This store doesn't seem as nice as the one on McClintock and Baseline and the parking lot feels more narrow but this location has a fuel center which makes it convenient if you have fuel points to use up. There was someone manning the gas station at a booth in the center that provided good service. A friendly associate was there at the self check out who helped me out when I accidentally put in the wrong grocery code and it was no problem getting stamps from here too. I'll probably be back to this store more often to get groceries due to the fuel center and the fact that there's a bubble tea shop in this same plaza. : ) read more

I frequent this Frys often because of Frances in the deli. I pass by 2 other Frys locations because of her service. She knows exactly what I want when I get there. She also recommends other meats and cheese she thinks I might like. I always get something new that she recommends. It's not just how she treats me, but I can tell other customers around me enjoy the deli because of her. She always makes time for all her customers. She's knowledgeable about the product and loves to engage in conversation while being prompt with your requests. read more

We have shopped at this Fry's Food Store more often than we like. The problem is when we're in the area it is convenient but we do go out of our way often to spend our $$ at other stores and only go here when absolutely necessary. Checkers rarely speak to you. Baggers are on cell phones. Staff is so involved in their conversations with each other that it's not unusual to go through a line and not exchange one word with the checker. This is more the experience than not the experience. It's got to have one of the rudest group of grocery store employees we've ever seen. If you have a question or need to ask the checker anything at all, you need to interrupt the ongoing conversation first. A recent complaint of service to one of the young managers was no different. He was rude and blamed the fact they had to have a union and couldn't do anything about the employees. I do believe if they had good management at this store, the treatment of customers would also improve. Training starts at the top and not from the bottom. Maybe instead of staff change, it's time for a management change. We find no problem whatsoever with food quality or shelves. The problems happen on your way out of the store up front. read more

Update: I ended up calling inside and spoke with the manager Sarah, who was helpful. We finally left with some of the groceries I ordered after an hour of waiting. My review is for their schedulled store pickup. I've been sitting outside about 40 minutes now. I checked in when I got here there was one person already here. She got her stuff he told me they were working on my stuff and were halfway done. While I waited some more 3 more vehicles came and got their stuff. They are all gone and I am STILL sitting here waiting. I would think someone sitting for so long and checked in would be the priority. read more

This Fry's location is beautiful. I can't believe how much effort was put into the decor...very impressive. It is clean and streamlined. Even though, I don't eat meat, my friend and I picked up some apricot rotisserie chicken and fried chicken for a gathering and it was a hit! They also have a nice selection of desserts. read more

Ahhhhh Ghetto Fry's. This is where I used to buy sandwiches with change when I was super broke using the self-checkout kiosks. Just recently, I had a bunch of change to redeem and I thought of places to hit up a Coinstar. "Ghetto Fry's," I decided. This place is very, very strange. I remember walking in one time and everyone looked scared. I don't know how to explain it, but everyone sort of stopped what they were doing and looked at me with these blank expressions and I wondered to myself what was going on. Was the place getting robbed or something? Suddenly, someone screamed and someone else yelled out, "There it is!" That's when I saw a manager chasing a bird with a broom. The bird had knocked some shit off of some shelfs and caused quite a commotion. If I had a nickel for every time I came into this Fry's location either drunk, stoned or both, I'd have enough money to buy myself and three of my closest friends Flinstone's Push-Pops. The cashiers and the managers are all nice, but rest assured, if you shop here, you will encounter mutants. And I do mean mutants. The store itself is actually sort of depressing. There are definitely normal people who shop here, like college kids and stuff but it seems like the place sort of wallows in its own self-pity. If you shop here enough times, you WILL see someone in a motorized wheelchair absolutely furious with a cashier that they cannot buy alcohol with an EBT card. It does the job, though. If you live around here, their produce is fresh, they have good prices and you can get in and out relatively quickly because it's laid out pretty nicely. read more

Obviously Frys is always awesome and has great prices! I come here very often and love it. Prices are great and the customer service is super friendly. However, one of their employees that makes this store stand out and run especially well when she is working is Sally Joe! She remembers us by name, always in a great mood, and keeps the self checkout line moving efficiently!! My family LOVES her! Tonight we went for the 2nd time today haha and she was missing and you could tell. All the lanes were closed except self checkout and things were a mess. This is by far the cleanest of all the supermarkets around the Tempe area. The deli items were fresh and reasonably priced unless you go with BoarsHead which will "Boar" a hole in any budget. Deli staff had hair nets and mouth covers. I like that. The deli staff at Fry's on 90th Street and Shea (Scottsdale) will actually have conversations with each other while they slice your meats not realizing that when you speak you generate saliva which then sprays onto the meats being cut. I must reiterate that I like idea of the mouth guards. Thank you management for enforcing this health code! read more

I found it funny that there are 2 Frys stores within a mile of each other. I've been to both locations often and prefer this location on Mill. They have a butcher counter, are "remodeled", and have the sushi counter. My biggest complaint is the smoking area is too close to the front door. If you exit the north double doors your 95% likely to get a whiff of cigarettes in your face. Plus it's weird to see employees out there goofing off or taking their smoke break. WTF? It's Sunday evening, too many people in line and whomever is in charge does not have someone open a register? By the time I got to the self-checkout, the ice cream I came to get was pretty much a waste. I paid for milk, OJ and broccoli, but left the ice cream. So after going back a few times looking for certain things...I've noticed a few more things. They often don't have what I am looking for. They have your basic stuff, but if you need anything even slightly out of the ordinary, they probably won't have it. Or they'll have it, but it won't be in stock. A bit of an inconvenience, but a popular problem. But I was more annoyed at the prices I noticed today. The prices, not for everything, but a few, are jacked up. There were some things where I know for a fact at other stores, sell for 98 cents. And at this Fry's cost $4!!! Seriously?! I'm pretty sure it's cause it's so close to campus. Stores closer to college campuses tend to have much higher prices. So while the service here is phenomenal, if saving money is more important to yu, I'd suggest checking out another Fry;s farther from campus. read more
