I love the store and team but here are few things for the higher management they need to looked on There are somany senior care facilities around and thier parking lot needs to be re striped it's barely visible and hard to park None of the employees wear actual name tags just paper tags with sharpie markers even some of them I have been seeing of almost retirement age now since they working And most importantly any time a cashier call for extra help to reduce long lines hardly they come needs more customer service training and coordination as team Hope someone pay attention to this matter read more

Great place to get good prices and quality. Slightly limited selections in some non food items, but food and produce is fresh and competative or lower prices. Their baked goods are always fresh and they even have fresh flowers. The store is always clean, including the bathroom. A big plus is that it's a fast check out. I have shopped at Smart and Final in Gilbert several times. The produce department is very large. Produce is fresh and well taken care of. I see mostly ladies working the departments.They are always very helpful to help me find what I need. I would like to say the female lady in produce is always working hard, which I see her on the register, outside helping with carts. Please Be Aware**** they move the stuff that is ready to expire (1 day until the expiration date) to the front of the shelves. I've bought stuff that was expiring the next day and didn't know until i got home, and by then it was too late to return it, so i had to use it right away. They also put stuff on sale when it is expiring, again with a day or two. Yesterday, a lady bought cans that were already expired, and she came in to return it and the cashier had to ask the manager if it was "returnable".. he finally gave in and said yes since she had a receipt... So be on high alert and check those expiration dates on all products there. -frequent shopper of S&F. read more

Why hadn't I thought of Smart & Final before when we've hosted parties? They sell in quantities large enough to handle a good sized crowd without going overboard. The layout is simple and clean. It was organized the day I went in, and the staff are quite pleasant. I'll have to keep this place in mind for our next party and Thanksgiving, and New Years. And Valentine's Day. I had only been in one of these maybe 20 years ago, but now that we didn't find what we needed as far as party supplies for a big party at Costco, I realized this option. This particular store is located in a not so great neighborhood, but it's really nice inside. I was so pleasantly surprised by the selection of party supplies. Worst customer service when I returned a product I had purchased at this store. George/ Jorge was very rude and seemed out of sorts when called to the front of the store. Rough to get in and out of. Almost impossible to make a left hand turn on to Indian School. The store is a bit cramped and not easy to maneuver with a full store of people., Good prices. I was able to get full size candy bars for the trick-o-treaters without breaking the bank (and no, I did not go on Halloween, I went earlier in the week). read more

Went shopping here today...not quite Costco or Sam's Club and neither are the prices but some of the items are worth while...my apartment is not big enough for me to buy large quantities of things in bulk so overall, when I can shop here and find something it is cool. This is a good place I think for the small mom and pop places that have a higher markup than the corporate giants...overall 3 stars..maybe 3 and 1/2 on a good day. read more

Monique work's as a cashier at this location, and makes the store a present place to shop, she always has a present smile, and demeanor with all of her customers, a she is a asset, to the company a success compared to the other larger stores there are in the area ! The store always has great prices on their meat selection and other manager specials there are not advertised but save you a great deal compared to shopping at places like fries or Whole Foods for the same item. As for the managers of the store cannot say the same thing at all they're cold and indignant to customer's. The store manager allows at night groups of gangs in to the store to trash the store and make it make for an unpleasant shopping experience what's his lack of care about the situation and not calling the police right away instead he allowed the customer to be a caustic and stood idly by Tony young boys to please calm down what a wussy should have gone to the phone and call the police in the first place before things got out of control ! That's the one of the only things about the store that makes for unpleasant experience that in the lack of lighting in the parking lot and security cameras ! The southside of Indian School in that area is not exactly the best neighborhood in Phoenix but is getting better, what no thanks to the Phoenix police doing Patrols, the City of Phoenix just wants to make money I need Indian School Road and not doing anything about being proactive in the area. Businesses like Smart & Final need to contact city council and ask for protection for the Patriots that shop at their stores I need me in School Road as a whole ! I don't know if the Phoenix police will ever be proactive since no one wants to join them for so little pay and so much harassment. Most of the police in Phoenix have attitudes because of this they're stretched so thin that they can't protect stores like Smart & Final and their customers. read more

Smart? Hmmm...maybe. Final? Well, they have a return policy, so not so sure on that. Enjoyable? Pretty much. I'm not a big warehousey shoppy kinda guy. Just like I don't like the HUGE grocery stores and dare I say, frankly, these super monster mega Target stores are little daunting to me. And Costco? Never been? I don't need 48 hot dogs. Nor do I need a gallon of Hidden Valley Ranch. So S & F, has a smaller, more navigatable space. Very organized with prices highly visible. I usually go here for restaurant supplies which are EXPENSIVE. Really...a plastic silverware tray has to cost $32? But they cleaning supplies and paper products are relatively cheap and come in "semi" bulk, so it's not too much. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable, something you don't get at most other stores. And once in a blue moon, they have cool stuff, like hand made wooden bowls marked down from $50 to $12....and it's huge. Sometimes I just sit in it and eat a weenie smothered in ranch dressing!
