Overall: 4.5 stars I confess I was spoiled by the amount of excess I was able to try from the Korean markets in Los Angeles. This does not mean I was going to give up on what Phoenix offers. This little diamond in the rough store made my hardened heart soft with the neat and orderly aisles filled with necessities to fulfill the makings of a delicious Korean meal. Every once in a while you stumble upon a place and are annoyed with yourself that you didn't find it sooner. That it Seoul Market for me. I was craving some gimbap and a guy at work suggested I come here. It's a true hidden gem. The owner greeted me as I walked up. Inside are rows filled with many sauces, seasonings, snacks, and treats. Freezers and fridges line the store with beverages, frozen foods, and store made banchan. The kimchi cucumbers are insanely addictive. The best find though is a few racks right by the register that hold recently made treats. It is kind of first come first serve but I picked up the gimbap I had been craving. I couldn't even wait for the drive home before I started inhaling it. Great Korean market on Dunlap & Olive. Small little market, but don't be fooled these guys have a lot! Seoul Market by far has the best selection of Kimchi than any other Asian Market. My favorite Kimchi is their cucumber kimchi, I wish they had more of the cucumber kimchi in the refrigerator because those are the best (which is why it goes so fast). Seoul Market has all sorts of Korean food items & a vast selection of everything from packaged food, snacks, seasonings, drinks, perishables, rice, appliances, refrigerated items, beauty stuff & even freshly made little snacks they leave out by the counter. Seoul Market is a must to drop by once I'm in town. This would be a weekly stop for us when we were younger. Always fresh dukk, gimbap and banchans. It's pretty much your basic household necessities, plus snacks. So if you're not a strong Korean cook and want easy shit probably not the best place for you. Customer service is always great, no complaints and It's nice to see familiar faces my mother would always chop it up with when I was younger. read more

The best Korean market ever !! It has more than what I want so I always end up buying a lot of stuff. They have a lot of options and they also offer fresh food and their very own Kimchi, which is delicious!! The owner is extremely nice and helpful when I need help finding an item. I stopped in today to see if they had Buldak ramen and ended up leaving with a box full of everything from pancake mix to spicy webfoot octopus to pre made fish cake side. They have a massive amount of side dishes made in house and they even had some of the best kimbap I've ever had. Every time I went to that side of town, I need to stop by this market. I think they made their Kim chi and all side dishes there, then they distribute to other Asian markets. In addition to Kim chi, I usually get fish cake, squid, rice cake, Kimbap (seaweed rice roll), and other variety of Kim chi/side dishes. It is a small place and might be hard to find but it is a gem for Korea food and products. read more

Banchan Heaven! I have been in search of good kimchi and banchan or side dishes to compliment my homemade bulgogi. We have found the place! They are all amazing. Fishcake picked with just the right amount of spice with carrots, onions and jalapeno. Black beans in soy are frozen, but they thaw beautifully! Tiny anchovies are salty and taste great with rice porridge or congee. Pickled cucumbers are mildly spicy and so are their bean sprouts. Yum! Yam strips that are served with bibimbap or rice dish! It offers terrific texture. Pickled spicy radish kimchi adds a different crunch. I love the cuttlefish - sweet think strips that taste of the ocean. They are chewy. I can eat this dish by itself. This is one of smaller Korean grocery market, but still able to find everything you need. The only thing they don't sell is alcoholic beverages. They specialize in Korean side dishes including various Kimchi and rice cakes. They also cater food for parties. I have to say, they have the best tasting kimchi in AZ as they make it themselves. Most other Asian grocers bring them in from Los Angeles and they don't taste as good. Also, they make rice cakes here. Most rice cakes you see at other grocers will get it from here to sell. I have been coming here for over 10 years now. They changed owners in the past, but the quality of their food hasn't changed. Wish they would open another one near my house. read more

So happy to have this little mom and pop shop in my neighborhood. It's not big or fancy in any sense, but they carry Korean items that are basics and necessities in Korean cooking. From in-house made kimchi (very good, btw) and banchan, instant ramen, frozen fish cakes and dumplings they also carry housewares. Pricing is done with little sticker labels and can be a bit difficult when it comes to their frozen items as some don't have prices. They also make rice cakes and kimbap (ready to eat food) at the front. Found pretty much what I needed after going through a round about in the store and paid quickly. Don't expect too much conversation, though the cashiers rung me up promptly. They charge a small fee if you use your credit card and don't take American Express. Definitely going to be frequently this place a lot more often! read more

Found this cute little place while searching Yelp for Korean grocers. This is a TINY little store that carries both the familiar and new Korean foodstuffs. The aisles are stuffed full of sauces, spices, noodles, Spam and other canned meat and fish items. There's also a small but beautiful selection of soup bowls, dishes, pots and pans. I found two large soup bowls, soup soy sauce, Maesil (expensive everywhere) and frozen dumplings. After making my purchase, I had to do a complete head snap after discovering facial masks for $1 each. If there's one thing I'm a sucker for (aside from kitchen gadgets, notebooks and diaries, makeup) is facial masks. So, I did what any red blooded, weak person would do: I turned right around and bought ten of the assorted masks. In the back of the store, there's a kitchen where they prepare daily, fresh cooked items. I know prices are higher here than at Mekong and even LeeLee's, but it's still a pretty cool place to check out. read more

Nice little hidden gem. I've driven past this place for more than 2 years and never payed attention to it. What led me to go was my craving for Kimchi. I searched and searched for the best kimchee and after vast research i settled on buying it here. Im glad i went because their kimchi is superb. Its delicious, scrumptious and addicting. Im no expert in kimchi but i have tried it in a few restaurants, however it has never been close to the level of how good Seoul Markets kimchi is. $5 for small, $8 for medium and didn't get for the price of the large. I decided on the medium container but i know next time i will go for the something bigger because medium won't last long. The little market has quite a bit of products, all mostly unknown to me.
