The staff is absolutely superb, the deli sandwiches are a local hidden gem, the weekly Noble bread services is a unique find, And we can't forget the hot and regular pickles! The liquor is possibly the lowest prices around town, with a selection of Half pint, pint, and shooter varieties of your favorite liquor. Fogger and geek bar vapes are also available. The ice cream and candy selection is top notch offering Selection such as Tim tam's, Poke, Ferrero Rocher, And traditional favorites like Reese's Hershey's Kitcat, etc., in various sizes regular and king size in particular. There is also a selection of coffee available Such as press coffee on tap for cold brew and hot coffee ready or even a Keurig! But they have everything bottled such as Dunkin' Donuts Starbucks More! Press coffee nitro in the can is one of the most popular options!!! They also have a variety of necessities needed for at home such as first aid kit, repairs, Minor car repair, or Even medicine to cure some sick sickness! I've been coming here for a few years, since I moved to the neighborhood. I have become friends with the employees and Richard is a great big, positive bubble of joy. They always have the hard selzter I want. And another positive is they added sandwiches and other basic restaurant food. It's no subway but it hits the spot. On Sunday April 30th at around a quarter to 12, I went to Sunshine Market and ordered a pizza from a young fellow wearing a black hoodie and a baseball cap. After I changed my mind from a small pizza to a large one, I was told to change my mind a little sooner next time, "because I just opened up the small bag of dough." At that point I told him I would take a small pizza after all. I always thought the local store was there for our convenience- I didn't realize we are here for theirs. Very few members of the public are going to care if YOU need to reseal a bag of dough somehow, and most employees who work with the public have the basic smarts to refrain from whining to the customers about something like that, because it's very obviously rude and self-pitying- not to mention the fact that I upsold myself until this dude talked me out of it. I usually have a good shopping experience here despite the fact that, as a longtime Coronado resident, I was sorry to see the previous owners go. The staff is usually polite and professional towards my wife and I. The young man who endured such trauma during the preparation of my pizza is fortunate to have his aunt or uncle or someone managing him as he apparently has the autonomy to shoot off his mouth however he wants. read more

Sunshine is definitely a really relaxed market. I am super glad it is in this neighborhood. I usually stop by this market when I drop my daughter off at her best friend's house. I usually like to go in here and pick up a few of the things that we need for dinner. Or I'll pick up a couple of things that I can take for myself to work. I do not always have time to stop for work. And I do not like to eat fast food. So it makes it really easy for me to stop at this market and pick up something fresh or healthy or something that's super convenient I can just throw a few of the items in my purse and go. I have lived at the shitty & overpriced apartments adjacent to Sunshine Mart. The only light we had is this place. It's pricey, but insane how I can roll up to the drive through and ask for the most random things and they do have it. Limes? Super glue? Dos? They're sweeties and it's a great place. read more

I feel so fortunate to live in a neighborhood with two great corner stores. Sunshine is right by my house and has proven to be a life saver so many times. Whether it's craft beer I am looking for (on sale for $3.99 a six-pack) or some random tool that I find out I'm missing in the middle of a home repair project they almost always have it. I'm pretty sure the owners think I'm a little strange for the amount of time I spend staring at their tool aisle.... The family that owns the place is great -- very kind and fun to do business with. There aren't enough shops like this left in this country -- I feel better every time I walk through the door. read more

My son went back and purchased a freshly made pastrami sandwich from their little deli. Just moved down the street and this will be my go-to place from now on. I can't truly add much with my review that others haven't already said, but I will echo their sentiments. Since I've lived in the Coronado neighborhood this wonderful little family owned convenience store has served me and mine quite well. They have a little deli counter with freshly made sandwiches, of the hoagie/hero/sub variety, simple but cheap and tasty. Occasionally there's a crock pot by the register with tamales, which I almost always am compelled to buy. Maybe my favorite part about the Sunshine Market is the discounted eastern European beer they always seem to have. I'm a sucker for eastern blocker anything, thus explaining why I'm always finding my fridge full of Baltika and Zywiec bottles purchased on the cheap at Sunshine Market. read more

This place is right down the street from my home so I visit pretty often. The employees are pretty quiet but they do remember what I want every time I go in. They close a little early for my taste but I would too if I owned my own store. So, if you live in the area, hit up your local business rather than the Circle K's that are on every corner. read more

very sad that i brought my service dog in on a leashe and both store owners told me that i had to carry her if i was going to be in their store. I told them that was actually not true and they both said that is what the department of health said which is also not true. My service dog was very well behaved, they just wanted me to carry her. I wish people knew the law. I left embarrassed and was with a group of people that made it worse. read more

I love this place. It is right down the street from my house and I stop in there several times a week. Everyone there knows me and has what I usually purchase on the counter before I even walk in. Amazing customer service, great options for beer, wine and even produce. I have been shopping at Sunshine for 10 years now, and I have to say, the Coronado Neighborhood is lucky to have them. This is a family run business with some of the nicest people I have met. Everyone smiles when I walk in. We share stories about our families, and they always give us gifts on the holidays. Also, if I need something in a pinch, they have all the essential groceries and produce. The beer is ridiculously cheap, and they have an impressive selection of liquor. Owners here are great and why not support a local business. I try to stop in here as much as possible instead of Circle K or any other gas station in the neighborhood. It is a convenience store, not a grocery store but they have a great selection of random items you need at the last minute. The owners are always friendly and remember what I order which is pretty impressive. I once bought an item there that was freezer burnt and they happily offered to give me my money back and told me to pick anything in the store I wanted for the inconvenience. This is a hidden gem. If a fellow yelper hadn't told me about this place a while back, I would not have stumbled across it.
