We quickly realized that the store had taken over for a party store which had gone out of business. Decently sized and very clean inside and out, we entered and grabbed a shopping cart. Up and down the aisles we went, grabbing goodies here and there. Did not take long to fill up a cart with stationary items, snacks, canned goods, etc. Quick and friendly service at the checkout and we were parking our cart back at the indoor cart return and heading out. Great first impression and we will be returning regularly.

They're cute and funny with a wide variety that changes every few weeks. They also have a good range of sizes. Most of the items are novelties, but they're fun to browse. I always forget how large the candy section is before the registers, calling your name and paying you back with a dental visit later. The store wasn't very clean, and items were scattered all over the place. Also, the only place for reusable bags for purchase is in the front of the store as you walk in, so if you need to buy one and forget where they are, the other options are to pay 35 cents per plastic bag or not use a bag. There should be more displayed near the register so people can easily find them. The experience is fun, but it's still your average thrift store. Not bad, not great, but okay. Also, the Santa decoration is terrifying.

TJ Maxx has always been hit or miss for me. sometimes you find exactly what you need and sometimes there's absolutely nothing there. This was one of those times where there was absolutely nothing for me to pick up. I had a quick lookover at the dresses and I found a few cute pieces but unfortunately not in my size. I don't know why but the clientele seemed a bit aggressive. Relax! It's just a dress or a pair of jeans! I got a strange vibe off of some folks here. The staff were friendly though so no complaints. Prices are similar to other TJ Maxx's. I thought the selection would be a bit better since this is Scottsdale but I didn't see a thing that was worth jumping on.

Kind of miss the old store before the renovations to make it feel more modern. We used to stop in and scour the endcaps for great clearance items. We still like stopping in and looking around, but in the old days we couldn't walk out of a Target without buying something. Any more we can easily walk out. At least we have a cool place to get our steps in and every once in a while, we find some deals like they used to carry all the time. Just a different vibe, I guess. That's more of a mark on the entirety of Target stores than this particular location though. We have stuck by this one more than any other location. We missed it when they needed to shut it down for months after a shoplifter was caught starting fires in the store as distractions. Turns out that setting off the sprinklers not only ruins merchandise but it can be a hazard and shut a store down indefinitely. This store is in a great spot and has a Starbucks inside. I walked in and it was crowded (holiday shopping has started). I was pleasantly surprised to see the racks full and the variety was on point, but trying to navigate felt like an obstacle course. The first thing that caught my eye, a hat from my favorite sports team, which is a rarity in Arizona, so I wanted to take advantage and grabbed it... And that's when the weird vibe started!!!! I feel like that hat was like a "bait hat"... after I grabbed it, I literally saw & felt multiple employees constantly glancing my way or looking at me discreetly through the aisles during my time here. I figured it out quickly as all the corporate people were in the store, as they had purple folders walking around and commenting on display setups, mini gatherings, talking about engagement, and more. Not gonna lie, it was definitely weird. Even when I went to the fitting room, I kept that hat out in plain sight because the energy was already awkward. The shopping itself was fine, but the overall vibe was... **DIFFERENT***. Not sure what was going on, but it made the experience more uncomfortable than it needed to be, especially here at Marshall's!!!!!
