Visited Dillard's, to browse, and let me just say... I was FLABBERGASTED. Let's start with the positives because they deserve the spotlight. Mary and Adonis were absolutely wonderful. Mary, in particular, went above and beyond to help me with the cause I came in to support. She didn't hesitate, stepped right in, and took control of the situation with confidence and kindness. In my humble opinion, MARY DESERVES A PROMOTION AND A HUGE RAISE. Truly. Adonis also caught my attention immediately ... makeup stood out, and futuristic, robotic-style attire. Iconic. Both were kind, respectful, and attentive. I love KIND humans. Now... moving on. While browsing, I noticed a man dressed in what looked like a heavy duty law enforcement uniform (brown attire, visibly armed). His presence felt very intense almost "above the law" energy. I jokingly told him to smile because life is a blessing, but he looked at me like he was ready to tackle me on aisle five. I even reassured him I don't steal! Just trying to lighten the mood but it wasn't me, that he was focused on. The energy throughout the store shifted when dude came standing in military form. Employees in shoes and fragrances seemed tense, standing in groups and watching closely while standing by the entrance into the mall One gentleman with a beautiful British accent approached me to offer help, but even he seemed nervous. I honestly wondered if I had missed some kind of memo. At that point, I decided it was my cue to wrap things up and head out. I'd absolutely return for perfumes and makeup (shoutout again to Mary and Adonis), but the overall vibe in other areas felt a bit jumpy for my taste. Huge unbelievable selection, well organized, great display and presentation, clean and neat, and outstanding friendly staff. Terrible experience with their customer service team in store and through the phone. If an item says in stock in store, and I order it for pick up, I should be able to pick it up... in store.. while it's available, not 3 days later. Not to mention the circles customer service put me through trying to get a shipment I never asked for cancelled. I call their store and they give me an 800 number- I then call the 800 number, they direct me to the store; I'm not sure what kind of mad scam Dillard's is running but they won't be receiving my patronage again. Thankfully the local Macys was able to save the day and get my item with no stress. read more

I went to a evening makeup demonstration and wound up buying various cosmetics. When I went back the next day to return 3 items, they said they were not refundable because I used a discount. The manager of the cosmetics department said that there were signs everywhere saying that the products would not be refundable (there weren't). Also the sales person said nothing about there being no refunds. The manager wasn't there that night so how could she prove that? She also said to check the back of the receipt, but the receipt said that the products were refundable within 30 days if unopened, which these were. Don't buy cosmetics at Dillard's! Save your money! $440 is a lot for face cream, and it's not buyer's remorse, it the principle. read more

I've always had good experience with Dillards and wanted to add that Jevon (juh-VAHN) Edwards, the Business Manager in Menswear is an excellent ambassador and representative for the store. I recently purchased quite a few new dress shirts, slacks and blazers and Jevon steered me in the right direction on every item then saw to it that the blazers received the necessary alterations to fit me properly. He knows his stuff and even steered me away from some more expensive dress shirts to some even better dress shirts that were on sale! Great guy. read more

Although I have always appreciated Dillard's more than your average Phoenix department store, today this particular five-star rating is exclusive for Calvin, the manager of the second floor, who helped me today in the women's coat/jacket area. I had very specific ideas about the type of coat I wanted, and Calvin listened and helped me with everything. He was very generous with his opinions about each coat I tried on, all of which I agreed with. He probably worked with me for a half-hour or more, and together we ultimately came up with the PERFECT ONE! Calvin made me feel super-confident with my decision, and I surely hope he finds me next time I'm shopping there, because I could sure get used to his great level of customer service and fun attitude. Five weeks ago, I was shopping in Dillard's and while perusing the shoe department, there was one of their footstools sticking out and as I walked past it, cut my leg. It want a big cut, but it hurt and it was bleeding. Just to be safe, I went to customer service and reported it. The manager on duty was not available, so a department manager spoke with me, filling out an incident report. She was the kindest, most respectful and professional I could have asked for. However, no one ever followed up with me and find that very unprofessional. It took three weeks for they cut to heal and I still have a scar there. I have spent a lot of my hard-earned money there over the years and it's not a good feeling to think of that and their carelessness to leave the corner of their footstool sticking out for someone to get injured, and have no follow-up. If it weren't for your customers, you would have a business! The best businesses are customer-centric! read more

Do not come here if you're looking to try on clothes! All 4 of the dressing room ladies lied to us and said they were full. Last one we were sent to from different departments we decided to wait at. The lady here said they were full as well. We stood in line and watched her let everyone that came after us into rooms and not us. She asked us if we could share a room? I was looking for shoes for my wedding and frustrated to say the least. I drove an hour to that particular mall thinking surely I'd find something at Nordstrom. They wouldn't give me the time of day in there. I was there for a solid 20 minutes and plenty employees walked by and ignored me so I left and walked to Dillard's They were very busy but I literally was asked by EVERY employee in the store if I was being helped. I started with one sales person and ended up finding Wanda, who was very patient and super helpful. I found the shoes I wanted and can't compliment her enough. This department store has been around for a while and it's always nice and clean. I like that you can ask the staff services for any questions you might have and they are willing to help. Can't find that anymore in many stores that you go to when you ask for help or you have a question usually the staff or customer service is rude or they're inpatient or or they just roll their eyes unfortunately that's how it goes sometimes. But this location actually has nice helpful staff that's willing to help you. And of course they always have the merchandise and they're willing to order it for you online if they don't have it at the store and they can either ship it to you or ship it to the store. read more

I walked into the store just needing to cut through to get to another store in the mall. Within 10 seconds of walking in an employee started following me and asking if I needed help, I said I didn't need help and she kept following me and telling me the store was closing. She was following me for a while as I was walking to the exit. I don't know why I was the only one that she was following around and reminding about the store closing, even though there were 30 - 40 other people there that were actively shopping even as they were closing. Customer service here is outstanding! My sister came in to purchase a belt for my nephew to match his new shoes (HS graduation and prom stuff). The guys in the men's department were exceptional in the service they provided (finding a size 30 belt for a youngster is not easy). Never had worse service in my life and trust me I am a shopper and go from lower end to boutique clothes. Michael in the mens suits is absolutely the rudest and most obnoxious sales rep I ever encountered. Not sure why he has such a big complex for his position but was trying to find the perfect shirt and found two. He was checking out two clients and I walked into the fitting room. He immediately stopped me and said you can't go in there. I said why? He said I have to measure you and you are not going to unwrap those nice shirts. Are you for real? Who is the client here? Are you worried you actually have to do some work and re package the shirts. Don't you think I know what my size shirt is after living on this earth for over 40+ years. Don't waste your time with Michael. He has a huge ego and completely rude. Dropped the shirts on a table. Talked to the store manager and now on Yelp. Go back to customer service skills Michael. Went here to BUY boots. I wear an 11 - I know this is a hard size. I asked for ANY boot in an 11. The sales person could not have shown greater disinterest in helping me. We were here EARLY on Saturday- few customers full sales staff. Sales person brought me one pair of boots - disinterestedly plopped them down and asked two other ladies could she help them. I asked if she had these two other boots. She walked off - to find the boots??? To hike the Himalayas??? She returns with another pair. JACKPOT!!! I love them... and she is helping yet another customer while two of her coworkers are standing and chatting with each other. Today I had probably some of the worst service I've ever had/seen from a manager. Bianca was the manager who is in charge of the perfume / cologne (and possibly the cosmetics as well). I patiently told Bianca my story (how her cosmetics people from a couple years ago had sold me the wrong cologne on two separate occasions in a row, premium colognes that are $200+ per bottle, and, I only recently discovered this after speaking with Dior directly. My wife had been saying for sometime that the cologne we were sold did not smell the same on me even though I had asked two separate Dillard's reps that same year to please sell me "the most commonly worn kind of Sauvage cologne." My wife and I thought the mistake was ours and it just smelled different because we had both had Covid.. it was only after speaking with the rep over at Dior that we realized that both reps instead sold us the much more expensive versions of the cologne... Would you believe that there are 4 different kinds of a single cologne?) Dior explained that this is very simple and that any entry-level person in Cologne at Dillards would have known this. Bianca knew this as well. She listened to me, then she said my story made sense because the people that were there at the time I was sold these items were poorly trained, and the people that are there now are much better. I had made it clear to Bianca that I wasn't fishing for a return or a freebie, and I even said that I didn't think I deserved one because I used the product anyhow, I just asked if she could help me with a small discount on my current purchase which would've been more than fair/reasonable given the size. She *actually said* and explained in detail that she "couldn't do any discounts because it hurts her numbers and her departments bottom line." (Can you imagine saying this to a customer?) She did nothing. She didn't even ask how much I had planned on buying today, she didn't even try to give me some small cheap freebie gift (that countless cologne manufacturers give) to appease me, she didn't offer any cologne samples, she did absolutely nothing whatsoever. She could learn a thing or two from her subordinate Pat Ryan who was remarkable at her job. Pat understands people and service, and she's a genuinely real/lovely human being. One moment of looking at and interacting with both, and you'll see what I mean. Solely because of Pat, I walked out with about $650.00 worth of Dior cologne. I can't stand leaving negative reviews for 1 bad apple in a store with good people, because it affects them as well.. especially a failing business of a bygone era like a Dillards. I apologize to all of the amazing people like Pat who have to work for someone who isn't properly trained like Bianca. I won't ever be back to Dillards because of Bianca, and I've been shopping there as a trusted source for cologne since 1992. Dillards please train this woman. The icing on the cake after all of this was her feigned concern at the end when she said "are there any other questions that I can answer for you?" Everyone knows what this means, I don't even have to say it... I took the hint and left. read more

I'm on the hunt for a gold bridesmaid dress and popped in here to see what they had. The lady working was SO friendly, listened to my needs, and walked me right to the area that I needed. Unfortunately I didn't love what I tried on, but the service, selection (just not gold) and SALES (they're amazing right now) made my experience here a good one. She also explained that she would be happy to help me zip up when trying on but that I had to wear a mask when I came out of the dressing room (which I so appreciate). I will definitely come back when I don't have an antsy 20 month old in tow! Crossing fingers they get more gold dresses as fall approaches. read more

there was an active shooter in this store a few weeks ago but i totally forgot about it , i love the customer service here. the prices and the high end designer outfits are kinda intimidating. i dont think i can afford most of the stuff here, but its such a treat to come here and buy something luxurious with my dillards credit card. they have some nice sales on pillows. i had the sweetest cashiers here. my only suggestion would be to order some more affordable 20×20 pillows. the ones i saw were 80 dollars. omg. this store is so clean. i used to shop at macys but not anymore. macys is a complete s***hole! read more

Shopping for men's dress shirt and associates said Dillards has a policy that they cannot undo packaging for trying on. Stating that dress shirts can only be tried on twice before being pulled from floor. The manager Calvin tried to leave area, to let salesperson deal with me. I asked salesperson to get manager as I did not believe we could not try a shirt on at location. I could have purchased, came home to try and then return? Every designer has a different fit.
