I absolutely love this cute little boutique in the 5th avenue shops in Old Town Scottsdale! :) I was looking for a blouse to go with a pair of pants that I bought and found the PERFECT one at Carmen! Not only that, the gals working were the sweetest and so helpful. I give two stars because Julie one of the sales reps is very kind, passionate and helpful. However, I would advise high caution when purchasing items from the store. The jewelry is cheaply made and you're not allowed to exchange or return faulty products. Saturday afternoon I stopped in looking for a gift for a friend. I did not find anything she'd like. I saw a few items I liked for myself so I tried on the items, the whole time Julie was very attentive and checked on me frequently. Unfortunately the items did not fit in the way I was hoping so I didn't purchase. I continued to peruse as I like shopping local and Julie was giving such a wonderful experience I wanted to purchase something. So I saw a pair of large gold hoops that I liked. I made the purchase and left. The next morning I went to put the earrings on, the first earring's clasp opened a little stiff but it opened. I opened the second earrings clasp and it broke off. Wow. I don't know anything about how to make or fix jewelry so I immediately put the earrings back in the bag and figured I would go back to the store to see if the owner could fix the earring since it's local. I took the earrings back and was told that per their policy on the receipt, they could not exchange or replace the earrings. Also, that the owner would not fix them. I'm shocked at the complete lack of customer service by the owner. Faulty products and you blame the customer? Not cool. I was so disappointed I left the earrings. The owner got $33 of mine for a cheaply made pair of earrings which stings because of principal. I won't return and advise others to be weary when purchasing jewelry. read more

I don't usually leave yelp reviews but Carmen on 5th has now become my favorite boutique! I came here before the holidays to find gifts for my friends and family and had the opportunity to meet Carmen the owner, she is so sweet and helped me pick out the most beautiful jewelry which my family members absolutely loved!! She also took her time to gift wrap so everything looked perfect. She made my holiday shopping experience easy and fun. This boutique has really beautiful curated items that you can't find anywhere else. I will be going here much more now thanks to Carmen the owner being so sweet and sincere and because all the clothes and jewelry she has selected are one of a kind. read more

This is my wife's favorite store every time we come to Scottsdale my wife wants to stop at Carmen's.....last time I traveled here on my own for business without my wife....just happened that weekend was my wife's birthday I went to Carmen and she made it possible for me to get a GREAT birthday gift for my wife.... she wrapped it beautifully....and picked the perfect gift for her..... needless to say my wife LOVED IT.....thank you Carmen for all your care and attention to detail....you made my wife's birthday a very special one!!!! read more

I was visiting Pheonix with my friend, and we decided to check out the downtown spa while we walked off our brunch buzz. Carmen immediately caught my eye because there were such cute clothes in the window. It was 1030 and they didn't open until 11, so we got coffee and waited. At that point I was worried the prices might be too much, but they were super reasonable even before the 50% off discount was applied. I got 4 pieces (2 dresses, a romper, and a cover up) for $100. The owner was there, and was very sweet. She made suggestions without being pushy and made me feel very comfortable. I've been wearing the romper today, and recieved multiple compliments. YES! I have never written a review in my life but I feel the need to share the horrible experience I had because I don't want anyone to go through what I did. I bought a necklace and the first time I tried it on it broke. I tried to return it and it was a whole process. I had to go back and forth with the owner via email and in the end she accused me of lying and blamed my children for breaking the necklace and that I should have bought a new one myself. Selection: cute Products: poor quality Customer service: terrible I came into Carmen looking for a souvenir from Arizona. I was eyeing a pair of cactus earrings and was ensured that the earrings were plated with good quality metal that wouldn't make my ears itch. So, I eagerly bought them. The first day I wore them they made my ears itch all day! I gave it about 2 weeks before I couldn't handle it anymore and took them off. I direct messaged the store via their Instagram page to alert them of my experience. I didn't want to make a big public ordeal of my experience, just a private and professional concern. 3 weeks go by and no response. I message again about how I was disappointed by the lack of repose. 2 MORE weeks go by and still no response. I see them posting new products every few days so I know they check their Instagram. Very disappointed by their customer service, especially when they claim to "pride" themselves in their customer experience. Would not go back for their poor quality products that are falsely advertised and their terrible customer service read more

I bought a necklace just under three months ago and it started tarnishing from what I noticed less than a month ago. I went back into the store and confirmed that the necklace is allowed to be worn in the shower and isn't supposed to tarnish at all before I told her about my necklace and then I showed the lady working my necklace and my receipt and she called the owner, Carmens and she told her employee that I probably ward in the pool even though I bought it in December and it is now March and it's been winter this entire time, and they said since it's not within the 14 day return they can't do anything for me. A five dollar forever 21 necklace doesn't even tarnish within the first 14 days, I wouldn't have paid over $40 for a necklace that was going to tarnish this quickly when I'm being told it's supposed to be great quality. From reading these reviews it appears that there's a lot of issues with the owner and their jewelry. I would hope that they would reach out and try to resolve these issues and issues like this moving forward with their customers if they want to keep their business going read more

If I could give this zero stars I would... Came to Scottsdale with my best friend for a long weekend and was doing a little shopping in town... We stopped in to Carmen and we're looking at a number of the jewelry pieces. The saleswoman - and I use that term lightly - could not have been more rude. She walked over to a display that we had just been looking at and started re-organizing it and mumbled under her breath "unbelievable". We are not rude people, we did not leave a mess,we were very polite and there was absolutely no reason for her rudeness. She even gave us a dirty look when we walked out. So rude. read more

I was shopping with my sister when we walked into this boutique. The product was cute and the layout was organized and clean. The reason I am giving this shop only 2 stars is because of a tremendous lack of customer service. There was only one other customer in the store but the employees completely ignored us. No greeting whatsoever. We were in the shop for about 5 minutes. We walked right by both employees several times and they wouldn't even make eye contact with us. When I asked her why she doesn't greet her customers she got very defensive and said we must not have heard her greeting. I have worked retail for over 10 years. I always listen for a greeting, which is why I always notice if someone fails to say hello. Even if we didn't hear her, she should have made more of an effort. There is no one else around.. walk up to us, ask us about our day, welcome us in, ask us if we need help. It's that simple. If you are looking for any help, conversation, or even a friendly smile, I suggest you take your business somewhere that actually knows the importance of good customer service. Laughing and snarling at customers as they leave your store is no way to earn good reviews. read more
