I'm on the hunt for a gold bridesmaid dress and popped in here to see what they had. The lady working was SO friendly, listened to my needs, and walked me right to the area that I needed. Unfortunately I didn't love what I tried on, but the service, selection (just not gold) and SALES (they're amazing right now) made my experience here a good one. She also explained that she would be happy to help me zip up when trying on but that I had to wear a mask when I came out of the dressing room (which I so appreciate). Dillard's is a store that grows on you. First, their square footage is huge. At least twice as large as the nearby Macy's, maybe ever three times as large. What do you get for all that extra room? Choices. Lots and lots of choices. For example, they don't just have one Ralph Lauren Polo shop, but two. In the back near the escalator and men's colognes departments, they have another for XLT guys. Being tall, I find their XLT shirt selection a godsend. Dillards also does a nice job with markdowns. No matter when we come here, there is always something you can find in their "closeouts" section marked 35% off. Nice! Like my friend Marisa S, Dillards seems to have my number. read more

Racist lady on the jacket and coat department January 1st. Took and refuse to sell the jacket my wife was purchasing because she was asking if she can buy the $66 dollar jacket now and return the same jacket she purchased 6 days ago at full price. Jacket was never worn or has the tags removed. The old white sales lady insists it was a price match and that they don't do that. And another reason they insists is that its unfair to the other customer going to buy? There are just one other customer out there! LOL. But here is the thing, I am the one going to buy it so basically, I am on a different transaction, I am the other customer! Dillards just employs racist folks! We got profiled because we are asians with mexican names . Returned the full priced coat and the whole family sworn to never step foot on Dillards ever again. read more

I've recently become a fan of higher end department store shopping. Quality clothes just seem to fit better and Dillards at Fashion Square is one of my favorite stops. This location outshines the PV Mall shop, with more space they offer wider selection of sizes and styles. Sometimes you just stumble on the perfect item that fits you just right. For only $100 (on clearance of course) this weekend I picked up a tailored suit, I do love a great bargain. I might have spoiled myself with this as my first tailoring experience. Im guessing $100 is no where near the norm and at that price I might just be able to get some new shoes to match; BONUS! A few times a year you can catch these sales and clearance events. While I generally wouldn't mistake Dillards for a discout shopping retailer, their normal prices are what you would generally expect to pay for Boss, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, and Calvin Clein. If you're not stopping in during the normal retail rush times like saturdays from 11am - 2pm or during a holiday weekend, shopping here is a pleasant experience. They seem to be staffed appropriately and you can usually find someone to help if help is needed. I generally don't like people helping me shop and the staff can usually tell when people prefer to shop by themselves and will leave you be. If asked if you'd like assistance, a friendly "No thanks!" is usually all it takes. Shopping here just makes sense. Happy Shopping my friends! read more

I have been shopping at Dillards for a while now and have to say, I am always back for the service! I am a lover of all handbags and vintage and couldn't recommend nathan more. He is always going above and beyond to make sure I get the exact bag I want and always in a timely manner. It doesn't stop there, his fabulous style, beautiful makeup and always the perfect shoe make shopping here feel like playing dress up.. A rather large location for a Dillard's store and it has a ton to offer in all that space. It was very clean and well stocked. We did have to search for a staff person to check out our purchase, but the options are there and they are organized in an easy to look through fashion. This anchor store definitely outsizes and out offers some of the others in the mall. I recommend stopping in if you have the time just so you can see all the things they pack into this one! After today's experience at Dillards, my opinion is that some of their employees are discriminating, intimidating and threatening towards disabled 80-year old Spanish speaking customers. My name is Dr. Mary Miller, and on 9/23 I purchased a bed quilt for my mother who was arriving from Spain on 10/6. We made her bed and found a hole in the quilt. I found it unacceptable to have a hole in a new merchandise, and I called Dillards immediately. The customer service representative stated that it would not be a problem that I did not have a physical receipt on hand. According to her, showing my bank statement would be enough. Well, my 80 year old mother and I returned to Dillards to exchange the damaged quilt. When we arrived, we first we talked to the same two clerks who sold me the quilt; but one of the explained that even after she saw my bank statement there was nothing that she could do as I didn't have a proof of purchase. I escalated the situation and spoke to the manager, Yalda if I am not mistaken. From the beginning her attitude was demeaning and condescending, she profoundly refused to either exchange or return the quilt. She stated that she believed that we had washed the quilt, because they don't sell damaged merchandise. I repeated time and time again that I did not wash the merchandise, and she flat out called me a liar. She began to raise her voice, got frustrated and threatened us to call security to have us removed from the store. This woman was ready to have my disabled mother and I escorted out of Dillards because we wanted to exchange damaged/defective merchandise. Later on, at one point she mocked me by saying, "but you a doctor and can buy another quilt!". After she realised that her intimidation tactics did not work, she decided to talk to customer service and I received a gift for only $86.60 out of the $124 that I had initially paid. Some credit is better than nothing, I thought. I am appalled of such discriminating customer Service at Dillards; especially knowing that Hispanics make up 31% percent of the population. read more

This is a fabulous Dillards in Scottsdale Fashion Square. The shoe department is amazing. The store is very large but you can always find what you are looking for. I always enjoy the big sale they have on January 1st. This is a sale you do not want to miss. read more

Let me start by saying we are big fans of Dillards. We love their stores (except the clearance centers...OMG - different world there)! This particular Dillards is at the top of the list because of its size and the collections they carry that others do not. It's a well maintained store, always clean, and some really great people work here. It would have all five stars if only they could get their act together in the women's shoe department. I don't know what it is. The employees there don't seem to give a flip about customer service, commissions or anything else. The exception to that is Ashi (sp?) who, on more than one occasion, was the only employee even trying to keep things moving. I've had others that have seen me holding a pair of shoes and purposely turned around and walked the other direction to avoid having to be bothered. If you take the shoe department away you have an awesome awesome store! Women's clothing has Jamie! Lingerie has Ana! These women are the ideal when it comes to client care. My daughter and I went to Dillard's at the Scottadale fashion center. I asked an employee at the Clinique counter for directions to the restroom. I was told to take a right, go down the hall, Exit the double doors and the restroom will be to my right. I found it to be odd that Dillard's did not have a restroom in store but I followed her directions anyway and found myself at the ports-potties in the mall parking lot's construction area! I was very insulted and this ruined my entire shopping experience. read more

You know what? I love Dillard's. I love this chain. I used to work for them when I first moved to Arizona, actually, and while I quit it almost immediately (let's face it, some people just hate retail work), I've always liked their selection. Their pricing can be fair, and it's just a step between Sears/JC Penney and Neiman Marcus. It's a good middle place. But the Dillard's in Scottsdale Fashion Square is the PITS. I went here the other day on my lunch break. I was actually thinking of shelling out some serious cash just to get a pair of jeans that would last awhile and look good. I walked by not one, not two, not even three, but SIX employees who did NOT offer to help me in any way. One even looked at me with her eyebrow raised like she thought I was going to steal something! Was it because I was in no makeup and glasses? Would I have had better customer service if I'd come in wearing my contacts, makeup, and a skirt? Seriously, people...I assume it's the same as when I worked there several years back--that pay is dependent on both the hourly wage and also the sales rung up. Are you honestly going to tell me that SIX employees had no interest in a woman carrying around a pair of $100 jeans? I just shrugged and got a pair of Levi's instead. read more

I don't know if I should say I love this place or really dislike them. They are dangerous. It's like they know my number. I was supposed to just passed by and head to another store, but I couldn't help it. I saw the shoe sale, they have it every few months now. Tons of shoes for 65% off. I guess a girl cannot have enough shoes. Hey, my pretty shoes don't care if I gain or loose a few pounds. Today, I got 3 more pairs. Danny helped me out, he has been in the shoe department forever. I remember him helping me since 2006 at least, wow, that is 6 years now. I love some of the Gianni Binni Dresses, too (that is the house brand). I guess I'm not the norm. I purposely dress down when I go shopping to avoid being followed around by well-meaning sales people on commission. Dillard's has fantastic sales and I never feel pressured by the sales ladies to hurry up and make a purchase. Unlike Nordstrom where I am constantly saying, "no thanks, no help needed", the employees here let me browse and shop and shop and browse as long as my little heart desires. If I need help, I ask, and they courteously take care of me. If not, which is normally the case, they let me be to find my own way. Thanks Dillard's! read more

Dillards has some great selections in their store but I think they need to focus on their presentation. I took my mother in law to go dress shopping for my wedding and loved their special occasion section. There were a lot of sizes and different styles ranging from youthful to older. When we went to go to the dressing room all the carpets were stained, not vacuumed and even had trash on the floor. I was a little disappointed that the presentation of the store was poor. It took away from our shopping experience ans really made us want to go somewhere else. The carpets all over the store were dirty as well. For an upscale store located in an upscale mall, they really need to work on the overall look and feel of the store. I wish I could give a better review but if the place is dirty and doesn't display pride, it kind of turns me off from shopping there. read more

Located at the Fashion Square Mall, this Dillard's is my favorite location to shop. It's a typical Dillard's with multiple levels. I like to shop for casual clothes and accessories here. Sometimes I will find a deal on a suit or sports coat. The employees here are not as friendly as some other Dillard's that I've been to.....most of the time you have to look for one and ask them for assistance instead of them offering to you. I don't come to Dillard's expecting a Nordstron-like shopping experience. If I need to be pampered, I go to Nordy's. Dillards is where I come when I already know generally what I want, and I know no one is less expensive. IMO, Dillard's strength is their competitive pricing and their unbelievable sales. For years, I assumed this was only temporary, the Arkansas-based retailer will randomly go upscale. They've never done this and as a result, I still love shopping at a Dillard's. This isn't to say the service is bad, it's just that store employees do not out-number customers and sometimes this can "feel" like it's the case in a Nordy's---especially in Men's suits. read more

This place is hit or miss. You see, I have strict rules when shopping: buy nothing at full price. So, sometimes, when the stars align just so, I find some pretty amazing deals on the sales racks. But, you have to carve some time into your day to shop these racks, for there are several of them scattered through the store. I typically walk in and make a sharp, right turn. Last time I was here, I bought 3 new shirts/pseudo-jackets for $30. Ya can't beat that, especially when you get staple items that lend themselves to mixing-and-matching. So, in that sense, I love this place. Yet, finding these rare finds is, well, rare. Mostly, I find I can't fathom the idea of wearing 100% polyester or spandex blends in Hell's Armpit (Phoenix). I want cotton, damnit. Is that too much to ask? read more

I was with my girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon, just choosing dresses for an upcoming wedding we are to attend this summer. She picked out some great dresses, and we were off to the fitting rooms. Now this is we had the problems. I walked into the fitting room with her as usual (to help her with zipping them on). I have done this numerous times throughout the day at Macy's and other dept stores without any problems. I was then yelled at by an "employee" who told me that I WAS NOT ALLOWED IN THERE!!!. My girfriend and I felt threatened and instead chose to find another fitting room. We decided not to argue with the "employee" Then we walked about 100 feet to the right of the juniors department and found a fitting room, and a rather helpful associate helped us in, with no issues whatsoever about me having a penis. We were in the middle of trying on our third dress, (which we found one that we really liked, and fit well too), then another employee came knocking on the door stating that "MEN AREN'T ALLOWED IN THE FITTING ROOMS" and I explained that I was just helping her zip on the dress, and had no intentions other than that. She said she would help her zip on the dress if she needed it. I explained that she did not feel comfortable with anyone else touching her, and seeing her in the fitting room without me being there. That was not satisfactory enough for the employee and I stated that we would would be leaving and no longer be customers of Dillards ever again. What a shame, as Men are treated differently than woman, and just because I happened to have a penis, then I wasn't allowed. We were planning on making a purchase on a Sunny Sunday afternoon, and some employees just made our day a hell of a lot worse than when we walked in. I later called the store that afternoon to see if I could speak with a manager, and was given one over the phone. The conversation was about how I was treated, and she stated that they don't' let men even be employed in the Juniors dept. What a sexist policy. We walked into the shoe department and was greeted by Mark. He is very outgoing and super fun just to talk to. He helped me in his department and then let us know about the promotion they were having in the swim department. I really appreciate him letting us know about it, because I wouldn't have gone upstairs. I ended up buying my dream suit. I also got a free pool speaker. There were a ton of free gifts to win and give aways at their margarita table. That was a nice touch. read more

Shopping at Dillards this past week was one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I've had, thanks to a wonderful associate named Yoli Quinbar. My daughter and I were looking for dresses for a wedding next month and had 2 being held at Neiman Marcus as we wanted to see what Dillards had in stock. First the selection is amazing. I understand that they have 2 buyers for the dresses and what a wonderful job they do. Yoli was great. She set us up in a large dressing room and not only kept checking on us, but kept the flow of dresses that we discarded cleared from our room. We must have tried on 45-55 dresses. She have suggestions and seemed to know the merchandise. In the end my daughter picked a dress and a jumpsuit for New Years and I bought 3 dresses. What a great afternoon we had! read more

The sales associates are very helpful and willing to go above and beyond to get you the item(s) that you are seeking. Every time I go, I find something on the sale rack! This Dillard's location is very nice. I have been here a couple of times recently for various items, dresses, boots, makeup, etc... and I have been very happy with the selection. One of my favorite designers, Karen Kane has a very large section at this particular location and sometimes does trunk shows here which is great. The customer service has been good at this location and I feel like the associates are helpful without being overly aggressive. The jewelry selection is really good here as well and I have found some really nice pieces at great prices. I have not shopped all departments of this store but they do have anything from housewares to children's clothes to bedding. A lot to chose from. The price range can be from very expensive to very affordable depending on the product and or the sale going on. Overall this is a great store for many items. Best clearance sales when coordinated with a Dillard's card. Scored on 2 Perry Ellis polos, a Hugo Boss T shirt, two pairs of Calvin Klein trunks, Hugo Boss swimming suit for $118.00. Cha-Ching! Sales staff is helpful and relaxed, only annoying thing is sometimes the dressing rooms are trashed out with mounds of clothing laying everywhere. read more

At the Chanel counter, the representative, Sahara was super helpful and friendly. She was very knowledgeable of all the products at her counter as well as helpful suggestions of the counters around her. Stellar service and I will definitely look for her help next time I come. read more

I absolutely love this place. I went into the Dillard's at this location because the carry Chanel Beauty products. I was so blown away about the charisma and character of Ellie and Pamela at the Chanel bar. They were so profession and kind. They represent their brand very well and are truly the kind of associates that should work for a high end brand like Chanel. I can't wait to go back again. read more

Very rude workers I've noticed , I shop here all the time and I never see friendly workers at this location , they all are always acting like it's a real pain to have to put things away and that they didn't know when they got hired it's part of their job !!!! We are here to shop and you are here to help and put stuff back if we don't buy it. This one older lady always comes over and says are you done with these and I say yes and she gives me the dirtiest look for she has to go put them back now. Then I went to return two lipglosses in makeup section and the lady with a foreign accent and dark hair working in the makeup area wouldn't return them cuz I only had paper receipt and said there is no boxes. I have the receipt !!! Then she said I couldn't return a hat with her that I needed to return it to the hat department. I went over to the perfume counter and the lady there gladly returned the hat. I am going to stop coming to this Dillards altogether. I will begin to only shop online now. The rude workers and the lazy workers in this world today make it an ugly experience anymore for customers. read more
