This store has pretty good prices, but their customer interaction training leaves a lot to be desired - specifically as it relates to the "Shopkeeper's Privilege" of asking for customer receipts on exit. This visit, I sent my receipt to my phone out of sheer habit - forgetting that I'd left my phone charging in the car. Instead of waving me on through, the Receipt Police Guy at the door chose to detain me long enough to lecture me about how I should have printed it instead because "everyone has their phone with them." I'm an older lady - and a bit frail - but lecturing random customers about how they have to prove they aren't stealing is beyond reasonable, especially since - while stores have the right to ask - they do NOT have the right to DEMAND without reasonable suspicion. Walmart, you need to train your people better before you get sued for unlawfully detaining and publically humiliating little old ladies. Couldn't take two minutes of their time to ask someone who also works there to find out for me. I have never been to a Walmart in my life. Shocker this is a San American sh1- I do approved, but some of the prices can be reduced by the end of the day. I think it's a good place for cheap items, but I can tell you do not buy their produce because I get soggy after a few days but every other thing is OK but I do not think it's like an every day stop for me. read more

We had to come to this Walmart two times the week of Christmas, during covid. Since stores were operating at a 20% capacity, there was a line to get in both times, though the wait wasn't too long (maybe 15 minutes the first time then 10 minutes the second time). The first visit, we had no major issues, and just had to pick up something quickly. The second time, we had to get a couple car related items. One item was behind a locked glass cabinet. Next to the cabinet, they had a help button, with instructions saying that if the light was on, the message is being sent to an appropriate customer service representative. However, every time you press the button, the light stays on for a few seconds, then quickly turns off. It was a nightmare trying to find someone to assist us. Although there were many employees walking around, they quickly said not my department, not my problem, I don't have the keys for it, and walked away. Frustrated, I asked who would have the keys, and they told me the sporting goods department (which was nearby). However, there was no worker in that section, even at that department's cashier. There was also no bell or button to call for a worker at the cashier. This wild goose chase was ridiculous, and I finally cajoled a passing worker to lead me find someone who would have the keys. He (reluctantly) took me to an attendant fielding phone calls by the fitting rooms, and she called for a service on the intercom to meet me at the car parts area. Satisfied that the problem should have been addressed, I returned to the car parts area, waited for at least 5-10 minutes, then was absolutely fuming from how long this was taking. The assistant manager found me-- I'm not sure if he was the one actually getting called over, but he at least had the keys to assist me. I was completely ready to storm off to any other location that had the same car part, regardless of price. He and the person fielding calls are the only reason they are getting any stars at this point. We've come here for years, mainly for items we can't find at our closer neighborhood Walmart. The service has always been mediocre, but recently it just seems to have gotten way worse. I'm sure covid is contributing, but wasting 30 minutes on waiting for an employee to unlock the glass cabinet is ridiculous, and at that point those items shouldn't even be locked up in the first place if a worker is not even remotely nearby to assist. Side note, I think everything in that glass case was less than $10, mainly spark plugs. My item was $8, and I am sure it would have been only a few dollars more at another car part place. read more

I love Walmart stores however the customer service sucks, the lines are super long and the workers are slow and it looks like some of the machines don't work so you literally have to scoot ur groceries to them if they can't reach it. Most registers have no bags so make sure to bring your own!!! Be expected to have ur list ready if not I will roam through the aisles and u will see the rush hour is usually after 3pm. Manager is the worst at this location... I went in today to get a 36 inch grill it was a heavy box and I asked for assistance few times and was announced through the speaker few times and no one would help. I waited 35 min for help and no one showed up and everyone I asked wasn't able to help. Then I left and came back with help since no one was able to help and once I go pay I tried to price match and the cashier ask for assistance and the manager says "if it's cheaper online tell him to get it there". David has an horrible attitude, tried to pay with Walmart Pay & my transaction failed. This is typically how I pay successfully. I tried different forms of payment and it still failed. I proceeded to pay with cash in frustration of the system. I ask politely may I try to use the Walmart Pay again, but he wouldnt clear the screen so that the QR code can pop again. He kept saying it's my card and he don't know. And just sat there. The next customer paid with card and David stated "They card worked, it's your card, it's not our computers". No two customers are the same and no two transactions may happen seamlessly. But it seems you're insinuating that I don't have enough money to cover the transaction. Why is this place so crowded? Terrible customer service. When a barcode was damaged on an item being checked from my basket, the checker told me I would have to get another one and get back in the line. That's after standing in line a long time already. Wasn't there another person working there that he could have asked to replace the problem item, like in normal grocery stores? Cheaper prices worth the health risk? I think not. 8/3/2020 Looked everywhere for Clorox wipes and Walmart.com website states it is in stock at the 600 Showers location. I don't live near here but decided to make the drive for the Clorox wipes. When I get there, the huge parking lot is quite full. This is a Monday at around 1 PM. I mask up and go inside. I am shocked to see how many people are in there. The lines for the registers are halfway into the store. I manage to see a clerk and ask where the Clorox wipes were. He replied "chemicals" and pointed into the store. Not helpful at all. If I were to look for the sign with the words "chemical", I'd never find it. So I went on instinct and found the cleaning supplies aisle, which was empty. I looked at the website again and showed a Walmart employee the picture and he said they didn't have any. All that for nothing! I actually needed some groceries but after seeing how packed that store was, with little social distancing, I decided the cheaper Walmart prices were not worth the risk of shopping in that packed environment. The staff here is always ridiculously rude. No where on their website does it say the garden department closes at a specific time, and the customer service manager refused to open the doors for me. She said "they always close the doors between 6 or 7. It's been like that since this Walmart opened" which is not true because this Walmart has been here my entire life and I've never had this issue. Staff walked away from me while I was asking for assistance saying "I can't deal with that" and to "go talk to customer service with your issue". They suggested I go to the Milpitas location to see if their garden center is still open instead of just getting the 4 chairs I asked for from the garden Department. UPDATE: Glory hallelujah, this Walmart has grocery pickup now! The pickup location is around the back and a little hard to find, but the pickup staff are quick, professional, and friendly. The selection still isn't as wide as other Walmarts, but I'm still thrilled that grocery pickup means I never have to set foot in this store again. While this Walmart is looking cleaner and less run-down than it did a few years ago, shopping here is still frustrating and soul-crushing. It's crowded no matter when you go, and even though the staff tries to be helpful, there's not much they can do about the understaffing and miserable checkout section. Since my last review, they've actually completely revamped the online pickup department. It is now prominently located right in the front of the store as soon as you enter, there is clear orange signage and multiple customer service reps with name tags indicating online pickup associate. Definitely a million times better than before. The rest of my shopping experience is meh. I saw a toy I wanted to get in their holiday ad but could not find. I tried to get someone to help but the two associates I asked said they didn't know and told me to find someone in the toy department. I couldn't find any associates in the toy department even after walking up and down the aisles for half an hour. Eventually I just gave up. At Target, they have phones you can dial to call someone, I wish I coulda done that as I was also interested in a kid's bike which were stored in racks I couldn't reach. The check out lines were a hot mess. There's self checkout but I was purchasing alcohol and needed to go to a cashier. While I was waiting a new line opened and the cashier decided to take people behind me to her line. Arrg, I like the low prices and selection but shopping here is frustrating! read more

The only couple of times I visited this place was probably for some gardening equipment and some Black Friday deal. It is Difficult to get help from the staff here. My friend mentioned that Some dude forgot to buy an item and realized later during checkout, so he blocked everyone and started threatening others that no one should be checked out until his wife/gf goes and gets that item. Even the person at the register didn't do anything as this person started getting aggressive and almost violent. You may see Somebody getting arrested in the parking lot. Few good things Now they have installed self-checkout. It's quicker to pickup/ return at this store using Walmart app than waiting in the line. This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to (Mountain View, CA) . After shopping here I no longer want to spend my money. I would rather just go to Target and spend extra dollars. I went in to get makeup wipes (which are locked up) I WAITED 20 minutes. I saw an associate and asked for their help. They told me they cant help me because they dont have the key. I went to the cosmetics counter WHERE 3 ASSOCIATES WERE JUST SITTING AND GOSSIPING. I asked if one of them can help me. They looked at me and pointed to the front and told me I have to go ask a manager. I walked to the front and found a manager, I asked her, she responded to me "I cant leave the front" I demanded to speak to a higher manager. I WAITED 25 MINUTES... nobody came. I have worked in customer service for so long & I understand the hardships that come with working in that type of setting. However. MULTIPLE times I have come and have pressed a button to wait for the longest time. Today I had enough. I had already been waiting for 10ish minutes and pressed the button several times. My dad called me and so I was able to see what time it was. It took 32 minutes for someone to come and help me. After I had flagged down several people for them all to tell me someone else was coming. I finally had enough and went up to someone and wouldn't leave them alone until I got help. I do not like coming here. This place markets so well to people and the customer service is horrible. Its as if there is a rush to get things done but they should have had those things done before they opened the store. I understand that different branches have different protocol but man, this place is in dire need of working on customer service. I appreciate that they have locked up many items that I guess are stolen fairly often, and that is on the customers. With knowing this, the employees should not be so upset or oblivious to helping customers with getting these things opened. My dad and I waited for help to have someone open a glass case to get a stinking comb, and a worker saw us but continued stocking their shelves. We finally made the effort to go to her (something she should have done with us), who then opened it. The workers always look confused about what is going on, and I am sure that there is a language barrier because there were times that I would receive instruction by someone pointing in a direction rather than directing me - with words. Some of the cashiers are friendly, specifically the ones at the self-checkouts. For the life of me, I do not know why Walmart chooses to place the slowest cashiers at the quick checkouts. There may have been changes, and additions to the walmart to make it look nicer or even be cleaner, but there needs to be discussion about employee morale, customer service, and speaking to customers like customers and not children. read more

I almost never go to this store because of the poor customer service and dirty store so I have been ordering from Walmart.com. for delivery because when you try to pick up in store there is either a line that takes 1/2 hr or more or no employee at the pick up counter! When you do get the front of the line the employee is unable to find the item for 10 minutes or more! I just had an order that should have be received tomorrow now says it will not be received for 8 days instead of 3. The customer service person at Walmart.com said that since I did not order by 2pm that instead of the order going in the next day that it will take 8 days! She was incapable off understanding that the order should have been placed the next day for delivery 2 days from then! She refused to get a supervisor on the line! This Walmart is poorly managed. The past few times we've shopped here in the evening, they've closed all of the self check lines and only had two cashiers open, so you end up spending at least 30 minutes in line. There are also large piles of junk everywhere... it's difficult to get your cart around all of the piled up inventory in the middle of the rows. Don't go unless you absolutely have to. There is a much nicer Walmart in Sunnyvale; it specializes in groceries but is very well managed so you don't end up wasting lots of time in line and getting stressed out about getting your cart around all of the piles of junk. read more

I'm gonna preface this review by asking any district manager to call me as I do want to escalate this and have the appropriate actions taken. I came here to pick up an order, and the team lead Rocio had the most unprofessional demeanor, she was acting absolutely miserable and when I asked for her name tag she asked if I knew how to read. When she asked me to open my trunk I told her she could put both orders in the back, separated by each seat as they weren't big orders and they're easier to grab on the go when you stop to deliver. She let me know it was against company policy and I told her that it was the first time I was hearing about it, considering (I have proof) of countless orders that the employees there have loaded into my backseat with no word of this policy, so I told her exactly that and the other employee that was listening, chimed in and began to swear at me. I did not feel safe and the way this was handled was absolutely unprofessional and I will be in contact with all the people to make sure this is escalated as need be. They're actually upset that I had called them out the day before to actually check the orders they're just putting into my car, half of the times they don't have labels to scan OR bags, they literally threw 3 arm and hammer baking sodas into my back seat 2 days ago without bags and one was open. If you're gonna carry a personal vendetta against me because I ask you to do your job that's totally fine because I am also a customer and would like to make sure I'm getting everything I've paid for, that's their job. read more

I like that walmart is cheap and stuff. It is cheaper than a lot of other stores. However, some of the workers here aren't that helpful when you ask them something. You might as them where is something, and they would either tell you the wrong place or not know. For me personally, when I go to a store I just walk around everywhere, I barely ask for help unless it is something I really have to ask for help. Therefore, when they give me wrong direction or something, I will just ask another worker or just keep walking around unless I am in a rush. It wasn't a big deal breaker for me I guess. This is rather a very old Walmart. I am guessing it's probably been around much since like the 1980s. This Walmart is what I would describe as a very comprehensive one because everything you need is here. You can pretty much get whatever you need here. It's pretty average. Grab what you need and just go on you way. I like how they have a very nice garden section where you can get anything your backyard needs. The Garden Center is not as well stocked as the one in Gilroy but you can pretty much get the essentials. For the kids they have some good toys that are at very reasonable prices. For everyone else, you get a lot of interesting necessities at a very low price. This particular store seems to be a huge hit among locals too. A lot of people buy things then get back on the bus. For the checkout process it's very quick and easy. There are always express lanes and self checkouts available. read more
