The worst Walmart i have ever been too. Everything is completely unorganized and the employees are less than helpful. We ended up using the new checkout method that is in-between the self check out and regular registers.. the biggest mistake ever. This is essentially a regular check out line where an employee rings you up but instead of an actual register it's a self checkout stand, it's the STUPIDEST idea ever. The employee who helped us was terrible. He kept inspecting every little item and then threw in onto a counter top, didn't help bag or make it easy for us to bag the items. While my husband was bagging, the employee asked how many bags he had used and my husband said give me a minute and I'll let you know. This guy really said "I'll be here until 11:59 so you should hurry up." I'm not sure if this was a joke but it was only 4 pm? Then to top it all off, he checked my ID for buying a movie. I haven't had this happen since BlockBuster. This never happens in a regular or self checkout line so why should I now? I hate this place vehemently. read more

This is the first Walmart I ever went to. I was horrified at first. But actually if you learn how to shop it, is not as terrible as it first seems. As Amy C. said, the employee quality can be low. I recently tried to buy a replacement phone and activate it here and it was a total hassle and took three trips and two returns and a trip to the Retail Phone Service Store in Palo Alto. It would have been better if the guy Zachary who does phone activations was respectful and knew how to communicate. It would have saved me one of the extra trips. Some employees here are acceptable or good, but overall Walmart services appear to be very unreliable. In the 40 minutes I had to wait around for Zachary (no set hours, no one could say when his hours are, he is phone activation person) to return to tell me what he could have told me the previous visit. As I waited, I saw anyone without a straight purchase was disappointed: three because they couldn't get photo services (person is not here today, or now), the one because a galaxy tablet wasn't in stock, and the phone rang off the hook for the full forty minutes and no one answered it. The employee made excuses, lots of excuses and told customers to "TRY" tomorrow morning with no guarantees anyone would be in photo. The lady in customer service even lied to me and told me the phone was not working (since I didn't have a working phone, I had their phone activation guy's cell number but I couldn't call him, Zachary to come off of break to help a customer.. ME, I don't work here btw.. :) Eventually a Manager let me use the phone to call Zachary to come back to do his job. Apparently he couldn't help me activate the phone, I had to go to the retail store to activate. That's fine but he tried to upsell me the day before so he could make commission on phone activation, why couldn't he have told me that the day before and saved me a day and a trip. He had very poor attitude in dealing with customers. I never want to return to Walmart again after this experience. I did save $50 on the phone purchase from the Retail Phone Service Store, but the hassle was not really worth it. They do have a low price on Mobile 1 Motor oil, I noticed as I went to the restroom. $25 for the gallon size. Walmart, a bargain store with low prices, however you cannot expect too much. read more

I came in for some emergency jumper cables and I was not assisted one BIT. I pressed the button for assistance, no response. I reached out to an associate for help, she said she would get me some help. 20 minutes go by and no help!!!! When I went there in late April, they mostly had what I needed that day except that when it came to getting earplugs, the first associate I asked didn't know where it was and said maybe it was in the hardware section. The second associate I asked told me it was in electronics. When I pressed further, they admitted they didn't know what earplugs were and thought that maybe I meant earbuds. But they allowed me to type it into their search page, and it told me the correct location was in the hygiene section. When I went there, I found that it was in a glass case, so I pressed the button. After several minutes of waiting, I looked for another associate to see if they could open it but they couldn't and left. After a few more minutes of waiting, I gave up and just left. read more

I went to Walmart because I needed some boxes to pack with, because I'm moving. They sell moving boxes. When I arrived I noticed that they had just gotten a truck in of merchandise. So i asked an employee if I could possibly get some boxes from the unpacked merch. He not only said I could, but also helped me break down the boxes and find exactly what I needed. It was so greatly appreciated. Moving is so expensive and every bit helps that I can save. I will continue being a loyal Walmart shopper. Great customer service!! read more

There are a few nice and helpful employees but the majority of the employees are rude. A few examples: 1. My first time at this location I was checking the candys and snacks at the checkout for a specific snack and this lady employee loudly instructs me to go to a checkout line. I nicely let her know I'm not ready. She continues to repeat herself for me to go to that checkout several more time despite me keeping telling her that I'm not ready but thank you. Eventually she is yelling at me from about 4-5 lanes away and I didn't want to be rude but I had to yell back that I was still shopping and I will go to a check out when I am ready to please stop yelling at me. 2. I was shopping late night with my cousin and fiancé and the employees were pulling new stock out on pallets. One employee told us to move. I was trying to move but had a cart someone left in the middle of the isle in front of me. So I started moving it to the side so I could move out of the way. He cery rudely told me to keep moving and move my cart. I had to turn around and ask him where he would like me to put the cart because it was not mine in order to get him to change his attitude. 3. Just today. My fiancé and I were shopping and one of the employees comes through an isle with a large cart to restock. It was a large isle that he could have fit by, especially since I was already to the side. But he rudely says excuse me and grabs the end of my cart and pushes it away into the shelves of shoes. In general if you ask for help from an employee the seem like it's bothersome that they have to go out of their way except for a few. And if you are even in the way of what thwy are trying to do they will literally cut you off or push your stuff out of the way. On a positive note, the staff in the vission center are pleasant and the employees at the exit checking the receipts and some of the ones at the self checkout are nice. read more

I actually drive out of my way to shop here. Of course the prices can't be beat, and the selection is great. I love their funky stretchy bell bottoms. The store manager Mark refused to allow a return of a $10 cooler that was purchased 1 day prior. And kicked me out of the store when asked for an explanation of why. Mark said the cooler was "used". I don't expect much from Walmart but the way we were treated by the store manager over a $10 cooler return was just absurd. Meanwhile, someone next to us returned a used bike without any issue. His whole attitude was aggressive and intimidating. This was the worst experience. read more

This review is for a guy named Manny working at return department. I went here to return a trolling motor. He asked me why I'm returning it. I told him I need a stronger trolling motor. He then make a statement "oh you wanted something stronger" then he said just joking. He was so unprofessional and inappropriate. As I was standing in line there was 4 persons in front of me. I watched it the whole time. He talks and treated everybody differently. I think Walmart tries and fills a need. But this Walmart has some serious issues. Today a woman with a golden retriever dog walked in Greeter just smiled. Said it's a service dog. Two minutes later the dog is defecating in the aisle. Woman cleaned up big pieces but left a large schmear on the aisle. A Walmart team member was alerted so other customers would not walk on it. Perhaps Walmart should limit dogs to seeing eye dogs. This dog was on a loose collar and leash, and it did not have a vest to indicate that it was a service dog of any type. read more

Is getting a can of beans for 50 cents really worth fighting one's way through crowded aisles blocked by people standing as obtrusively as possible? Or having to maneuver around cars in the parking lot that are waiting 3 minutes for another car to leave, while there are plenty of spots 50 feet away? And finally to add insult to injury, when I'm trying to leave the store with the goods I've paid for and are now legally my property, Marker Guy at the exit demands to see my receipt like I'm a common criminal, in a misguided attempt towards "loss prevention". Which by the way is their right to ask, and your right to refuse. But how many of us enjoy making a scene? Yeah... no thanks. I'll stick with Target. read more

Just wow. This Walmart can't figure out where it wants to stock its things and basically you can never find anything where you'd expect it to be. The water is not next to the juice, the bagels are not next to the bread, there's a separate section for cereal, but there's more breakfast stuff where the real loaves of bread are. Why, why?? This store is pretty inefficient, the parking lot is terrible, and most people working here don't seem to care much about anything else. I definitely would recommend Target instead, however you can pretty much never beat Walmart prices, especially when you're getting a 30 pack of Nat Light for $14.89. read more

NEGATIVE Stars honestly. This place says that they do "social distancing" or "wearing masks" but in reality they really don't. Over crowded on some days, people walking in without a mask on and the employees don't give a shit. Or there are sometimes employees who aren't wearing mask properly. In the past few months I have seen a crazy guy run around the parking lot and a dude wearing a dress inside the store maybe it was dress up day. On the good note it looks like they were trying there best to get the shelves stocked up and keep the lines moving so that's a good thing. OMFG. I am so traumatized by my Walmart experience today that I will now shop online FOREVER. We were almost killed in the parking lot by hot-tempered uninsured motorists, blasting through the walkways. I was wearing my shorts and flip flops to "blend in" with the Walmart enviroment and guess what. I was still overdressed. What a sight . . . rude people, pushing their shopping carts into your calves, screaming and dangling drooling children (can I have my tubes tied) with their oblivious teenage mothers, the memorable smell of Bengay, stale popcorn, and cumin. I get that this isn't the most pleasant experience for most, but I actually enjoy it. I used to think visiting Walmart and Target was beneath me and now that I'm old and crusty, I look forward to visiting these fine establishments. Parking lot experience is about as fun and exciting as a visit to the dentist. It's a real shit show out there, no way around it. Once you enter the front doors, it's like a paradise of mediocrity at just the right price. The bright white lights pelt your face, the sounds of kids screaming, nearly broken shopping carts rolling and checkout scanners scanning puts your sound system on high alert. The place was a mess when we walked in and I assume that's the norm here. I am sure there are arguments for and against Walmart as a brand. I love it. I mean, Safeway sells my fave hot sauce for $7 bottle, my favorite almond butter for $14 a jar. I can find both of those here for $3 and $8 respectively. It's impressive indeed and I absolutely love it! I've grown closer and closer to the bargain basement shopper in recent years and this is the spot that enhances that mindset. read more

If I can rate this store with not even 1/8th of a star, I would, but due to the limitations of how Yelp is setup, 1 star doesn't even deserve justice- Now to my experience last night with this store. I was shopping here last night along with my 3 children and we got caught in one of those long-ass lines to the check-out counter. Having been waiting for almost 25 minutes, I made it to the 2nd in line position when suddenly another check-out stand opens-up next door and I am being called out by an elderly woman employee to come to her line. As soon as my kids and I almost finish unloading our items onto the conveyor belt, this lady starts panicking and screaming out, "I can't log-in, I can't log-in", runs around the store like a chicken with its head cut-off. She then tells me to jump back into my old line. Being embarrassed already at that point, I refused to do that; You think it would be easy to do that? No apology, not even one from the African American floor manager who this employee ran to, was standing there like a log, pretending that nothing happened- well a big FU to you bastard! Who even gave you a job in the first place? If I had to power, I'd take that job away from you and reassign it to the mannequin standing in the Men's department. I ended-up getting back in line and waiting an additional 20 minutes after this whole ordeal. I was fuming mad. A simple apology would have sufficed, instead of the employee making a scene. I am an educated person, and you don't even have to be educated to apologize, just have common sense that's all. This is what I normally do to avoid shit like this, with the exception of what happened last night because I had to visit the store out of necessity: The best time to come here is early in the morning; I walk in, get my shit, pay at the garden center check out line, and get the hell out. There is something definitely wrong with the process here and it all starts with the Manager of the store. It's unfortunate how Mountain View, being a classy city, would allow a shitty Walmart to even exist with the stupid people that work here. Went to this place on Sunday. I would say I won't recommend the vulnerable go to this place. Although there was a line to control the capacity, inside there is no control regardless of some one way sign which I assume is just to pass the CDC test and get a permit. The aisles are narrow and some aisles don't have a one way sign at all. No employee guides, many people violated the one way control. The check out line is in a complete mess. With no social distancing at all. I came here to return the online order by the way, they originally promised me to mail me the label, but until now I haven't received and it has already been coming to the return deadline. When I call the store, they can't give a answer for my situation, and let me drive to the store. All in all the online shopping experience is extremely bad read more

I'm lost in the city of Mountain View and I just needed a cup of coffee or something equivalent to wake me up in the afternoon. At this point, I'll settle for anything .i.e. Starbucks. But I drove by El Camino Real and this shopping center called the San Antonio Shopping Center. There has got to be a coffee shop here in this shopping complex. Instead I ran into corporate-evil Wal-Mart. I just can't go in there, because of the worldwide attention of the company treated there employees like crap. But there is a Rock-Star Energy drink machine for $2.00. I did buy a can of that popular energy drink and indeed I: "Party like a Rock-Star, Party like a Rock-Star!" After I reenergized myself, I did walk inside the big store. And I saw many of the items are dirt cheap. No wonder the leading worldwide retail giant treats the cashiers and the associates like shit, because Wal-Mart pay these workers below-minimum wage and hire people with zero retail experience. I did witness some of the workers are busting their ass off and still get bare-minimum paycheck. Seeing these hard-working people getting abused by Wal-Mart management is a dreadful site. That energy-drink was all I bought. Even though the items are cheaper than most places, I still refuse to shop @ Wal-Mart. No thank you. read more
