This is about the Customer Service Section. My wife bought a tablet online on Cyber Monday as a gift. Never opened. A week later the price dropped $20. I told my wife that they can price adjust and return the $20. She goes to customer service desk and is told they can't do anything and she'll have to figure it out with walmart.com. Turned away, she returns home and goes to walmart.com where the online chat rep says my wife has to work the price adjustment with the store by bringing in the tablet and not just the receipt. I go with my wife to walmart the following week. To get the $20 adjustment, we could buy the online product again at the new reduced price and simultaneously return the original product at the price we purchased at. Only issue, is we'd have to return the next day to retrieve the online product from the walmart locker. It's a pain but we agree to do so. We buy online but wait to return the original just in case the store happened to be out of stock. My wife has returned to walmart 6 days later. It took about an hour. She got the first tablet returned. Second tablet received at the lower price. A $25 google play gift card? It's frustrating because we have parents in town now and this took away from that precious time. TL:DR Tried to get a $20 price adjustment. Took 3+ hours to accomplish. I recommend NOT purchasing expensive gifts from Walmart as their customer service section is incapable of performing simple returns/adjustments. read more

Today's visit to WalMart was very interesting. Went to get some thermal tops and bottoms for the nice cold weather. They didn't have the brand I wanted but I did find a new brand and it was reduced so that was awesome. Best part is that they fit perfectly. We were in line to purchase them and the lines were moving slowly. Then a friendly worker came to ask if we were paying with cash or card. I told him card and he took us to a table that was by the clothing area where they were helping people check out. The worker's name is Itsu and he is the customer service manager. He was very helpful and friendly. Great customer service with him. It was a great experience today at this WalMart. read more

Walmart is as ubiquitous as cellular phones in every large city across this country and the store at Keeaumoku location is no exception, EXCEPT...LOL...this Walmart is crazy, hectic and crowded almost 24-7. Due to its central location and the steady streams of incoming tourists shopping here on a daily basis, buyers should beware! The availability of the supplies are not guaranteed! Yes, there have been countless times when I needed a particular item I know Walmart carries, I drive all the way there and darn it, it's all gone, sold out. The stuff just disappeared so fast off the shelves that at times, I feel like I wasted a trip there. Thank goodness Longs Drugs (and soon to be a bigger Walgreens) are conveniently located across the streets. In addition, going to Walmart at this location requires patience and time because their lines can be long and the store is typically busy. It appears there are all kinds of shoppers from all over the world are congregating inside this Walmart! There is also a tendency to accidentally bump into someone and even more so if there are people pushing those shopping carts all over the entire store. The store's layout is NOT designed for the high traffic this particular store experienced on a normal basis. Hence, patience and time are keyed to shopping here. For me, doing a Walmart run is my last errand of the day because I've learned from my experience that shopping here can cost you more in terms of time and effort. But every once in awhile, you gotta to get something from Walmart not available elsewhere. So off I try to go during non-peak hours into Walmart and sometimes, it can be a little better. My Walmart run is not too bad if the self-checkout kiosks are not crowded. Also, finding help from a Walmart associate is similar to finding a needle in a haystack. Very difficult, so what I end up doing is: locate the product as best as I can, pay for it and leave quickly. If the purchased item doesn't fit or work, I just keep my receipts in order to return it later. Please cue the zen music on. But on some occasions, Walmart prices are not the lowest because I've found cheaper products or deals elsewhere. That is a plus when I can get the same deal somewhere else with better parking. The parking situation can wear on you; some drivers intentionally stalled their vehicle right in the middle of the parking lane (it was designed to fit 2 vehicles) so the cars behind can't move left or right. Annoying! There are drivers who will wait for a full 10 minutes just to get a spot closer to the doors. Wow walking a couple more steps might endanger one's health? I thought walking was good for most. Walmart is here to stay and the Keeaumoku location is not losing customers but gaining more and more. Unfortunately I had to shop here this past weekend for a few necessities like toilet paper and refill food saver bags. My husband and I hate this store so we try to build up a list of supplies that we need before heading there. If we had the extra space we would prefer to buy our toilet paper and such from Sam's Club or Costco instead. I like to park on the top level and work my way down to Sam's Club or Walmart. It's easier to shoot up to the top level and find a parking than to stop and go on one of the bottom levels. The wait can get pretty frustrating trying to get through those lower levels to a parking stall. The store has a pretty grungy feel to it as well as a stench (mainly at the entrances). It's always crowded and majority of the workers that we've come across were just outright rude. Definitely not a place I enjoy going, but unfortunately the prices keep people returning. Definitely come here if you're a tourist, it's the cheapest place to shop near Waikiki. Yeah, it's a Walmart and it's busy and frustrating, but when it comes to saving a ton of money, this place is perfect. We got all of our beach gear, reef safe sunscreen, snacks, and beer here which would have easily cost double the price at an ABC. It's worth the short Uber ride from Waikiki Beach! read more

Went to Walmart to get some supplies for work. I was looking around to find a safe box where you store your bills and coins in. I asked one of the workers in the fishing department and I asked if they know where I can find a small safe box for small businesses. He said to go look in the home department. I looked for it and it wasn't there. So I asked a different worker she told me to try look in the hardware department, but wasn't there. Then finally I asked a different person he told me to check the office department and then I finally found it!! This evening my boyfriend and I decided to go to the money center here, minding our own business in line A customer that they were already helping was getting heated because he could've retrieve his money or whatever so he turned around and called my bf out thinking we were laughing at him when we didn't even pay him no attention. So my boyfriend told him we were minding our own business and it got loud with their upset customer and my bf. As it was our turn in line. They refused service because we responded to the disoriented customer... they serviced that other man but refused ours. They may be racist as I am Asian and my boyfriend is African America. And the manager who authorized the "refused service" was white. I felt very offended that they decided to refuse service for us when we were minding our own business in the first place. They should've handled the other guest instead. But they kept helping him. He was using profanity and everything! It could be racism. read more

The employees are scuzzier, generally unprofessional and are more judgemental or rude than employees at Target. Oh, what we put up with for lower prices. I may not even shop at walmart in the future because their low iq employees always have an unnecessary attitude and become personal (signs of lower intelligence on the job) whereas target employees either are a better lot they hire or they are trained to be more professional. I think it's the aformentioned is they probably hire better employees. For example, if you return something, most of them have an attitude and impatience as if it's coming out of their own pockets or judge you based on their own personal bias as to who they believe should or should not get a refund, regardless of the policies. Then you have to observe their snide passive-aggressive looks and tone of voice (9 times out of 10, it's always a southeast asian employees who are most unprofessional, usually filipino) and you just want to SMACK them but control your anger at their rudeness. Target employees NEVER behave this way nor do they judge as they know it is irrevelant to their job. Most of them don't realize that the profits walmart accrues far surpasses by large magnitude where the losses amount to a drop in the bucket because they are too stupid to understand context and the larger picture. Also, even if customers return some items, if you have good customer service and policies, you have more returning and happier shoppers because they know they can trust that company to have good relations when an item does not meet their needs or expectations, will shop more often and spend more money overall which is more profits for walmart incorporated and eventually trickle to the employees. read more

This Walmart is souvenir central! Best prices, so much going on in most of the aisles, my head was spinning, eyes bulging and my wallet said go ahead and spend. My best advice is to go super early in the day. During the week. Forget going on the weekends. It's all about perfect timing. TRUST. Just like all Walmarts across USA the shelves will become bare after a certain time. Just like all other Walmarts, the aisles get messy and parking is a big headache. I purchased all kinds of childhood treats that aren't sold on in LB or 'the mainland'...Marukai in Torrance and Gardena is another story.... I never used to drink coffee up until 2 years ago and these flavors are delightful! I also purchased Hurricane Popcorn, Mauna Loa macadamia nuts, Hershey's mac nuts! Unique annual planner and the cutest post-it tabs ever! Just be aware you ARE in Hawaii. Island time. Chillax time. Checking out can be super-slow!!!! Everyone has a love&share relationship with Wally World. There's great foods, cheap clothing, decent electronics, furniture, art supplies - like the list is endless and to top it off; it's cheap!! However almost every single worker at this Walmart seems to hate their life. Like don't work in customer service if you cannot leave your baggage at the door and be friendly to those you're getting paid to help. I can expect that most Walmarts will have what I'm looking for and that's affordable everyday items. It was several miles from our hotel but it's worth a visit especially if you're staying in Waikiki. Everyday items in Waikiki can be overpriced. The store itself was like most. It was crowded. This isn't the biggest Wal-Mart I've ever been to, but again this is on an island and doesn't need to be that big. What I liked about this location as a tourist, they have the Hawaii'ana section. So if you wanted to be cheap, you could buy all your gifts here. Hey also sell macadamias for hella cheap! I got a box of 6 chocolate covered for just $12. In the mainland that would be well over $30. But I'm in love with cheap prices and fully aware the abuse this company inflicts on their employees, yet I still shop here. Agree with other comments that it is not well maintained/cleaned (especially parking lot) and they don't always have everything in stock, but it gets a ton of foot traffic and is open long hours, so I guess we should consider that. On the plus side, it can be good for souvenirs, aloha wear, toiletries, breakfast food/snacks such as granola bars, Chobani Greek yogurt (also the Chobani flips), and fresh bananas. Recently we discovered the flower leis near the checkout stands, beautiful options in the clear clamshell containers, including tuberose mix, single orchid, and the fancier flat orchid style at very reasonable prices. They have an optical department. Sometimes the shelf merchandise seems a little picked over and it can take a while to hunt down a staff member if you have questions, but for the all-in-one place convenience and prices, it's worth investing some time to check out this place for the things that you are looking for. read more

The dearth of Wal-Marts and Targets in a convenient location has been the hardest thing to get used to here. We actually never go to Target because it took us an hour last time. Because we're a single income family, on a tight budget, and non-military, we simply cannot afford to go to Long's or Safeway to buy everything we need. The other day, my son needed a pair of khaki pants. I went to Ross- no pants at all in his size. Then I went to Macy's Kahala, the only other store within a 10 mile radius carrying kid's clothes. The only pants they had were Ralph Lauren for $40. Hmm, should I buy the pants, or should we eat this week? I wondered. So off we went to Wal-Mart, where we got a very similar pair for only $9. That is Wal-Mart working for you. It's also where we buy our craft stuff, over the counter pills, Hawaiian chocolate, electronics, and toys. We also got almost a hundred percent of our school supplies here. Waht I don't like: This Wal-Mart is downtown and the parking garage is a heat trap full of people who refuse to park in a quick fashion. They enjoy idling in the lot sharking spots, even if the other side has a hundred empty spots. It's also always always crowded with locals and tourists, and if you have little kids you're in fear of them being carelessly run over. read more

In Tinytown, IA, Backwater, AR, and Honolulu, HI you will find the same products, the same atmosphere, the same T-Virus effect on the patrons. The fact is that Wal-Mart is the low cost oasis in this particular paradise. I come here to get cheap stuff. I usually end up frustrated with the other shoppers. (Why do people insist on dragging screaming kids up and down the aisles threatening to pound them? Just leave the little tornado sirens at home.) I usually spend more than I wanted to. But, really, who can refuse a plastic wine glass for $1.50? They even have the cheap wine to pour in it. I keep going back for sunscreen (and aloe when that fails) and tuna and vitamins and paper towels and whatever else I just can not live without that day. The parking situation here is horrible almost all day. As an investor, I see this as a good thing. Same store sales are probably up, CRAMMED with people. As a customer, I'm pissed. B@$tards can't even park within the lines and one person even clipped my license plate from parking across from me. UNBELIEVABLE. I come to Walmart pretty much every week. Possibly 2-3 times a week when I'm really feeling it. My main victim at the store, potato chips. They are dirt cheap and I can't pass up junk food to save my life. I also bought a set of tools here to keep in my car in case of emergencies and I often buy my motor oil from here as well. This is enough to keep me content for the most part. Like every man, I just need food and a car to keep me happy. However, there was a situation when they ran out of high mileage Mobil 1 5-20w oil. I stopped to ask a man restocking the shelves if they have any left in the back and they old bastard was salty balls. "NO. We only carry what's on the shelves. We don't have a 'back'" -- "Alright. Thanks (you Richard)." Then he CONTINUES to babble on as I walk away. I don't even know what he was saying but clearly, this company must not treat their employees very well. Come to think of it, didn't they have life insurance policies for their employees with Walmart as the beneficiary? Yeah, you guys are cool. Learning about unethical businesses is my forte. You're probably wondering, if I've had so many problems with this store, why am I giving them 3 stars? Well, simple. Say what you will about Wally World, but I've always loved shopping at Walmart both here and in NoVA for the same reason I love working in Chinatown or going into downtown DC - that gritty urban vibe where anything could happen is such a contrast to suburban/island life. But I'm just now getting to reviewing this location after seeing a fancy new addition - an entire section devoted to pickups for online orders. This store just doesn't care from corporate to floor manager to checker. Everyone is unhappy and doesn't want to be there. No hand sanitizer but one employee standing with a large bottle of unmarked something and he will squirt you if you hold out your hand. I did, big mistake. What did it for me is the locked exit. Good thing there wasn't a fire or an emergency. These things shouldn't happen in a Walmart. Maybe Sam needs a reminder. I'm actually slapping myself even as I write this. I swear I tried hard NOT to enter this store because I had made it a point NOT to shop at Walmart for years now and have actually been successful. However, that was because there were also Targets nearby. Here in Hawaii, there are NO Targets and the only other equivalent is K-Mart (also some place I don't make a point of shopping at). So as I say this with much shame, I shopped at Walmart!! I bought some stuff I ordinarily would've bought at Target stores and I'm not proud ot it. I really hate to contribute to Walmart's financial gain because of the way it operates its business and I am going to try my damndest NOT to shop there again this year. I try to avoid this Walmart for the simple fact that its always overcrowded. Although I do love Walmart because they have the best prices and the most options. It's never a dull moment when going to Walmart especially this one. You never know what kind of excitement you'll run into. Most times when I go in here a lot of things are disorganized. But most times than none I always find what I'm looking for plus a few more things LOL. I love people watching in this store LOL. It's full of excitement. This last time I visited this location it felt like the store didn't have any AC running. It was super hot I asked the cashier about the Heat and her reply was it's always hot in here. The dressing room staff were ultra nice. Found some great items. Among them, during my last hour, a beautiful matching lingerie set. So what if it falls apart? Good grief, it was less than $20.00! Uh, though @ some point I have to pack it all up, You see, I'm just here on vacation folks! I visit 1-2x year (relatives). Hopefully I can find a box. This is like my last resort shop. Kinda like when all else fails, there's always Walmart. And this usually happens when it's REALLY late at night when everything else is closed, or when it's REALLY early and nothing else is open. LoL. I'm very thankful for these 24 hour places. Parking can get really hectic on the bottom floor so just go to the second floor and get some exercise using the stairs. Just remember to hold your breath because that's the alternate bathroom for some people. LoL read more

This Walmart location is busy anytime of the day or well for all the times I've gone. To avoid the hassle of trying to wait for parking downstairs I would park 2nd floor and walk down the stairs. There's ample of parking on the 2nd level and if you hate finding parking there I would bet on finding parking upstairs quicker. I hate when I come here and the shelves are not stocked. I've ran into this issue a few times when looking for certain items. Customer service isn't that great as well especially when I'm trying to look for someone for help. There's no help to be found. At times I feel like I'm walking around the whole store looking for someone to help me and when I do that person tells me to look for someone in that section to help me. I hate when I get the runarounds. Long lines are inevitable here but you just gotta deal with it. Sometimes, I actually just go to the back of the store in the photo dept to see if I can pay there to avoid the hectic lines. But Walmart is definitely known for their low prices so that's why I keep coming back. You can find almost anything and everything here. It's affordable than any other store. Walmart is dangerous for me! Just when you think you're only suppose to go there for 1 item you come out with a cart full! That's how it always is when you shop at Walmart, you'll always always find something you need or maybe just want to buy because you see it. Plastic bag ban took into effect July 1, 2015, so they now have those reusable bags you can buy or they offer those sustainable recyclable reusable bags that are thicker and meant to reuse the next time you come. But it's not meant for all of your items as you're suppose to start bringing in your own reusable bags. I wasn't able to get a bag for my liquid soap detergent so I had to carry that thing out. Yesterday morning I went to the Walmart Keeaumoku St cause it's around from my condo I went to just make copy of photo prints and I never used it ever but however I was very impress with the CS I got, and I was surprised to get this treatment from employee however ever he was the team lead John Dar who happen to assist me show me where the Kiosk was located and explained to me how the machine worked, Trust me it was an easy process to do it myself I was impressed he took the time to assist that is great CS. And to today I had to drop by again at the Keeaumoku Walmart because I needed to get some supplies etc. and I went to the self-check at the front of the store where I ask Dylan for help cause I had pick-up a baby pillow and apparently it did not have the price nor the scan code and the guy went out of his way to get the price I was very impress again wow 2 times in the roll. Oh Wal-Mart. How do I love thee. Only the part where I just can't stand commuting 20 minutes in rush hour traffic to save a few $$ on essential every day items just annoys the hell out of me. While I do enjoy going to the nearby Longs Drugs in Kahala Mall, sometimes I come check Wal-Mart out just to see if they have the same thing, just CHEAPER. Yes, I am a bargain hunter at times, when I need something and need it as cheap as it comes, without sacrificing on quality. I do love the low prices marketing pitch they do everyday, which brings in the majority of its customers. I am not going to lie and say I don't enjoy coming here. While the crowds of people can get somewhat annoying and overwhelming, the parking spaces are very limited when it's peak time. Thankfully, Wal-Mart is open 24/7, so you can do your business at midnight, if you wanted to. The weird thing about Wal-Mart is that THERE IS NO WINDOWS! YOU CAN'T TELL IF IT'S MID DAY OR MIDNIGHT IN THIS PLACE! hahah. That's wild! Just bright lights and lots of products for you to buy. I did notice that they moved around alot of their merchandise to make it more aerodynamic, or whatever, so whatever you thought was there before, isn't there now. At least I know where the electronics department and the restrooms are. That's the main places I go to, other than shopping for food and beer. The cashier people are somewhat friendly and they're just not really in the mood for small talk - like Costco. They have a job to do and they want to get as much people cashed out and on their way as humanly possible. That's probably how they can generate as much profit as they can - along with stocking up major inventory and selling it dirt cheap to the masses. This Walmart is crazy huge and it's full of crazy people. People from all walks of life gather here finding their needs. And sometimes that's the problem, you have people from ALL walks of life, which means different smells calibrating together. If you're like me, you can get sucked in to the realm of Walmart. You come here for one item, but for some reason, go wondering around and coming back with a cart full of items. WTF? Come here on the weekend and it's just too crowded for me. And sometimes there are some shady characters lingering around at the front entrance, just another thing I may have to potentially deal with. I prefer Mililani Walmart, little bit more up scale of the people there, just a little now. read more

That's pretty much the best thing about it. Customer service here is hit or miss and usually a miss. Parking lot is crazy. Easy to get stuck behind a line of cars. Tip: come into the parking lot from the west side and park on the second floor. Much less selection than the other walmarts here. Don't even have a gardening section. Also, they run out of things quickly and often, so get it while it's there! Bottom line: Can't beat the convenient location for me, but if you live near another Walmart, I would go there. read more

I came in on November 19th to get my film developed. The worker told me it would take 2 weeks. So I go back to Walmart on December 5th to check if it was done yet. The worker goes to look for it and says he's gonna look in the back. He comes out after 10 minutes and says he can't find it and that they probably haven't finished developing it yet. So once again i go back on December 21, because i'be waited over a month for my picture. The lady looks for my pictures once again can't find them. she goes in the back and she comes back out and says "we didn't even send it out to get developed". I waited a month for my film to sit at walmart??? and not be informed that they haven't even shipped them out yet?? within that month I couldve took my film back and got them done some place else. like seriously do better. read more

Seeing as how I come to this Walmart so frequently, I thought I'd better update my review. I tend to visit before heading home from work, which happens to be only a block away, anywhere from 6-8am. It lets me avoid the overcrowded parking lot & the asshats who don't know how to park or walk in the middle of the road. It also means I avoid an overcrowded store where everyone is playing bumper cars with their wagons. My more recent visits also shocked with me shelves full of products. I now walk in confidently knowing I will be able to pick up everything I need (& then some). Prices are still cheaper or equal to their competitors. I still avoid the restrooms & customer service desk here so I can't say whether they've improved or not. The staff is friendly enough & again, because of the times I shop, the lines to check out are much shorter & the cashiers are much calmer & personable. read more

Not only are these lockers not handicap accessible, but just like Don Quixote, this Walmart has a massive bed bug problem! I was notified by an employee that they do not clean out the lockers on a daily basis, or at all! Every time I place a bag in their lockers, I have bed bugs crawling on my things. I showed the live crawling bugs to an employee and all he said was that he would tell the manager. Nothing has come from it and I was still told I have to put my bags in the lockers and risk a possible bedbug infestation. Pretty big store in Honolulu. Very busy and we were able to get everything we needed. The check out was fast and I loved the recycle bags. I Continue to use them here in the states. read more

Here is my story: terrible service and response on return. Don't buy from Walmart! They are going down.

Just getting around to this review. This store I believe is one of the seven Walmarts on Oahu and it's a decent place to get souvenirs, leis, macadamia nuts, and etc if you don't want to go elsewhere. I'm not sure how authentic some of the merchandise is, but if you're trying to grab some gifts before you head to the airport, come here. The parking garage is as hectic as the store and no one seems to look out while they are backing up. Point blank it's very very busy here but then again, what Walmart isn't? This Walmart was actually our first stop after getting off the plane and after picking up our rental car. We didn't want to bother with the rules and regulations of the TSA and airline on carry-on liquids and such so we didn't bring anything and just bought items that we could share during the trip. We also bought a snorkel set which came in handy and also some food and general munchies to avoid spending bucket loads on food. It's kind of perfect to stock up on food though if you're on vacation. Don't get me wrong, we still ate out, but going to Walmart helped. My sister was able to get some "throw away" clothes as well to use just for the vacation and then....throw away. I didn't have any problems with this Walmart other than the parking and it was kind of weird to see several people get arrested for shoplifting while we were there. Sooooooo....ya. read more
