For some reason, I always have a slushie craving when at Ala Moana, yet can never find one that's not overloaded with sugar. I go round and round the food courts to no avail. I then remembered that ABC has a store here, first level by the centerstage. It's not a full-fledged location with a kitchen but they have all the usual souvenirs, snacks and beverages including alcohol. ABC didn't fare well in the slushie department either and by this time I was so parched and over it, I just ended up with a healthy bottle of water. I was greeted by one of the female cashiers as I entered, though I didn't get one from the male cashier who rang me up. OVERALL: Convenience at its best. read more

Have you ever heard about da inside joke about "ABC Stores"? This really applies if one is in Waikiki, because if a local asked another local - "eh, where you stay???" And the local says - "I stay by the ABC Store!", guess what???? Probably every block in Waikiki get one ABC Store! Buwahahahahaha! Well, lucky for me, ABC Stores are also located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and if I'm correct, there's like two stores. One store is located by the centerstage of the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and the newer ABC Store is located on the west wing going towards the Foodland Farms store, or a few doors down from Spectrum. Although I don't shop at ABC Stores on a regular basis, I have been known to pop into the store for a snack, or a drink once in a blue moon. While cruisin' a Ala Moana yesterday, I decided to pop on into the ABC Store by the center stage area for a coffee, since I missed my morning cup of joe. Rest-a-sure, whenever one goes to an ABC Store, you'll find a very clean & well organized store. ABC Stores kinda caters to our visiting tourist, as you'll find an array of Hawaii souvenirs, food items, and some really cool t-shirts! Walking into this particular ABC Store, I was taken back at the very nice designs they had for their t-shirts. It is easy as ABC! This all in one store is the place for convenience in Waikiki as it's everywhere and has just about everything for everyone. This particular location is found in the Ala Moana Center which has two shops this one originally was located on the Makai or facing Ala Moana Beach Park and has relocated on the other side of the mall next to Spectrum near Nordstrom just before Covid though it was strategic smart move as it's right infant of a Trolley Stop and you know before heading back to your hotel or the next stop it's convenient. Yes just before Covid..sigh! Then came the closure sadly the other location right in the middle next to the Centerstage of the mall remained open though this one remained closed up until recently which I'm so happy to see as I was afraid it would close but so happy they hung on though the pin was still placed at the reverse part of the mall so I did send it the change so that there won't be a lost tourist as it's nowhere near its former location. Slowly things are returning and the vibe here is still quite mellow but has all the yummy bentos, spam musubi, macadamia nuts and the drinks to keep you cool. Thank you! read more

Located in the Ala moana shopping center ground floor facing Mauka next to Starbucks. When I entered the store, the first impression is this place is very neat and clean, very organized. They carry a lot of different items such as T-shirts, Aloha shirt, souvenir, gift items (food), swimming gear, snorkeling gear, lots of drinks and alcohol selection. When people come to Hawaii, everyone visit the ABC store! I'm surprised there's only one ABC store in the shopping center. The staffs are very friendly and keep saying hi to us. Sometimes, we don't even go to the supermarket and just buy from ABC store even we live here and we are not a tourist. read more

Often times, when we dine in at Makai Foodcourt this ABC store is our usual go-to place for drinks! Why not? Medium size fountain drink is less than a dollar. That's way more cheap done the foodcourt. Plus, so far they got friendly staffs in here. This location is crowded most of the time. Located 1st floor inside Ala Moana Center sure this is the on-the-go souvenir place for some tourists too! And just like other locations, they got tons of souvenirs that you can choose to. From keychains, ref magnets, dashboard hula girl & different kind of leis. You can also grab some small bites in here too and that includes fresh deli. They got fine wine & spirits, beach needs, apparel & cosmetics all in one place. Pretty convenient indeed. Will always associate this store every time we dine at Makai. Admittedly, we don't usually shop at the ABC Stores as we usually go to other drugstores for our necessities. However, just after we returned from our recent travel to Las Vegas, we found ourselves at this ABC Store while scrambling for both hand and surface sanitizing wipes. Well, instead of wandering about the crowded store, we decided to just ask one of the friendly cashier who told us they only carried "Wet Ones for Sensitive Skin". Um, nope, that won't do, as I turned to my husband saying that product doesn't contain an anti-bacterial agent. But, that's when it struck me to make our own hand sanitizer as I've done before during past hurricane seasons in Hawai'i. ABC Stores had one of the ingredients that I needed, Aloe Vera Gel 99% and/or Aloe Vera 100%. I chose to purchase several tubes of Aloe Vera 99% as I calculated that I could get more batches of hand sanitizer from the 11 oz. When we returned home, I had sterilized several pocket-sized squeeze bottles ready for me to home compound the mixture and pour into the containers. We're thankful for ABC Stores' inventory on hand and more reasonable price of the aloe vera gel. We'll be back but maybe the next time, we'll try their local snacks. read more

Probably one of my favorite places in Honolulu! My family and I have been to Oahu twice, and every time we go we always stop at the ABC stores at least 5 times. We like to go over there and get the chicken katsu and spam musubis. Their warm food is great btw if you haven't tried it, it's the main reason we go. Their teriyaki chicken bowl is delicious! Their food is always kept hot and packaged well and to me, there is nothing better than grabbing a fresh musubi and going to the ocean. read more

What's not to love? Tons of great souvenirs available in one convenient place. I bought the pineapple cookies (Piaca?) and the guava macadamia short bread, some coconut peanut butter, chocolates and Hawaiian salt. Easy gifts to take home for family and friends. Wish I'd gotten more of the pineapple stuffed cookies, they were amazingly good. There was so much interesting food here I wanted to buy a lot more, but my husband said no. The ABC Store is definitely my favorite store in Hawaii. This is the best shop to buy your last minute souvenirs and to buy Dole merchandise. Actually, I noticed that buying Dole merchandise here is cheaper than buying it at Dole!! If I knew that before hand, I wouldn't have bought so much at Dole. Types of souvenirs you ask? You can buy: magnets, candy, t-shirts, Hawaiian print dresses and other stuff to name a few. This ABC Store is my favorite though compared to all the other ABC Stores because so far this has been the largest store. I also like their reward system. Save your receipts! I absolutely love shopping at the ABC stores while we are in Hawaii...I frequent this one the most as it's closest in walking distance from our hotel. I love the section they have at their stores and the convenience of having everything under one roof. Our normal routine is hitting this place up right before the beach and stocking up on daily supplies not only to drink but to eat and snack on as well. For a convenience store they have really good take with options from sushi, poke, sandwiches, salads etc...plus all and everything you would need to make your beach day enjoyable. What I also really love is how friendly the staff is here and any location. You are always greeted with an Aloha and a friendly employee. They are also super helpful and answer any questions you might have. Plus hang onto your receipts because after so many $$$ you can cash in for some free merch. While we are in Honolulu we always make it a game to see how many points we can rack up for a free coffee cup or reusable bags. Either way love coming here and love the convenience. read more

ABC Stores seem to be so plentiful in Waikiki! It's as if there's one on every corner! They are like 7-Eleven/souvenier/convenience stores for Hawaii tourists! Merchandise includes beach towels, sunscreen, key chains, magnets, tropical scented hand lotions, soft drinks, and snacks. However, this particular location is not in Waikiki, but it's close. This one is near Center Stage at Ala Moana Shopping Center, on the ocean side, ground level. The best thing about this ABC Store is the free parking! I was looking for Hawaiian Hello Kitty reusable shopping bags. I had seen them at the Waikiki ABC Stores. Shucks! This Ala Moana location didn't have any. I even asked the friendly cashiers. They confirmed that the bags had sold out. Arg! They reminded me that ABC Stores has a Rewards Program and to save all of my receipts from future purchases! That was nice of them! There is one almost everywhere you turn. This ABC Store is located inside Ala Moana Center. Lots of cool things inside. Very touristy spot. You can find souvenirs galore inside. After visiting Target, Walmart, and Don Quijote, the prices here were definitely a bit rough for me. They do have some unique stuff at this store. Entering the store one is greeted by a chorus of "Aloha!" Not one person but all the clerks sound off with "Aloha!" I, personally, think it's an overkill of the language. I mean, if you hear it over and over, one may just question the sincerity!!! If their purpose is hospitality why not just hire a "concierge!" On the matter of hygiene, their coffee dispensers and the area is always dirty with bugs flying and spilled coffee and cream on the counter! No one cleans this area and if they do, they clean it infrequently and the coffee containers are empty half the time. Instead of hollering "Aloha," the staff should watch the aisle and counter for cleanliness!! read more

Everything was neat and organized making shopping here a breeze. I ended up getting a six pack of chocolate covered macadamia nuts for only $20. That was a pretty good price compared to the other stores I looked at- Longs Drugs and Target. The cashiers are fun and very friendly. But like I said it's very touristy so it aimed towards the consumers that have no knowledge of getting cheap souvenirs. They are a clean store but the prices are a little high. Is it wrong that I'm local and I like to go into this tourist trap? This store is huge. Its also different than most of their other stores; it's not brightly fluorescently lit but has mood lighting. This is the location on the ground level by the center stage in Ala Moana Center. They have tons of products. There's sandwiches, fake flower hair supplies, Hawaii nail polish, tshirts and even condoms in the shape of sushi. They have a ton of Hello Kitty items and from what I could see, a decent wine selection for a convenient store. Prices here are decent too, not ridiculously marked up like you would assume. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. When I play tourist or need Hawaii souvenirs, this is my first stop! read more

I brought Tim Tom Timmy and his sister here on Wednesday to grab a small small snack before beach church and Timmy got the new sandwich that were very tasty. It had tuna and a sauce. The sauce almost tasted like Mac salad but different. It also had lettuce, like a real salad. Lol. So yum yummers. Timmy's sister got a sack of nuts. Almost the same price as the sandwich. 8 Mac nuts. She was hungry during church and said she was farting cause she's hungry. Lol. I said "We are here till church is Pau" haha. I always love all ABC stores, everyone who works here is very nice and subtle and always getting discounts like 10% off during Spring 2020, every ABC store is very nice and only very nice people work here, do not give them a hard time, the nicest people work here, one day I was lost near here the manager gave me a musubi, I was so lost, people know I was traveling and feeling very weary, this store is very compassionate and understanding I was so tired that evening, they have a heart. This is my favorite Oahu-based ABC store thus far. They have the most extensive selection of touristy gifts, snacks, clothes, and trinkets I've seen on the island. Plus, some items I had already bought at full price at other ABC stores were on sale here so this location seemed more competitively priced as well. Most importantly, the staff here is the best. They are generous about honoring the customer loyalty program and giving away freebies when you spend over a certain amount at any of the ABC stores on the island. So save your ABC receipts!!! On a serious note, we realized upon returning to the hotel that Jon forgot his cc here and the mall had already closed. When we called the store, the manager offered to wait for us to come back that night to pick it up, and even took precautions to verify his ID before handing his card back. The best staff ever! My transaction today involved some complicated paperwork and Kate was super patient and friendly throughout the lengthy process. She never showed any irritation/frustration and was professional the entire time. She went thru the manual and even spoke to her boss over the phone to accommodate my special request. This does NOT happen at other stores and i was impressed and pleasantly surprised. The check out clerk who asked for Kate (sorry I didn't get her name) was also very professional and didn't treat me like a difficult customer. Overall i had a great experience and am so appreciative that they went out of their way to assist me. Need something? Well, if you're staying down Waikiki, you are pretty familiar with ABC Stores. Ala Moana has two locations, both downstairs. One is on the beach side of the Macy's wing. The other is located downstairs right next to the stage which are close to the bathrooms. It's the place to pretty much get all the stuff you forgot to pack, or need more of, or just buy cheap looking shirts, postcards, and other junks. I peddled my fat butt down to ABC store located on the mall level @ Ala Moana....it was stocked, convenient and closer than the Atkinson 7-11. Another perk with this ABC store is that it's almost always empty...probably because of it's odd location in between Goma Tei and Gold Exchange (hey, those kind of rhyme) and the parking lot being always crowded in that area. With my bike and trusty quadriceps I was able to make a "run" from Magic Island to ABC store and back in about 15 minutes. I return with $15 Svedka, $1.30 Sprite bottles, $1 water bottles (1.5 L) and $3 Starbuck Double Stacks. Usually go here first to buy a drink before going to food court to eat, it's a lot cheaper to buy a fountain drink or bottled water at ABC. The drinks are always stocked. Sometimes there can be a line but it moves quickly. This store is a same as the ones in Waikiki. The store is always clean. Good place to pick up last minute souvenirs for visitors. read more

I'm really surprised by all of the negative reviews! I think ABC stores, especially this one, are baller convenient stores! With sparkly clean floors (I saw my reflection), a nice flow, and stocked-to-the-brim shelves, it's hard to hate this place, especially since the prices for goods resembled the mainland (aka really affordable). For example, waters and drinks fall somewhere between $1.50 to $3. Snacks fall somewhere around $4 to $7! These are great prices for a traveler in Hawaii! Sure, it's touristy and they have those straw mats and hula girl statues that you can buy, but it doesn't mean that it isn't a convenient store! Plus, the people there were nice as ever and one called me sweetie. (Heyyy.) I also saw locals there, too, so that's a good sign. I love ABC Stores, especially this one! read more

First thing I noticed in this particular store was that they had a selection of clothes - really cute dresses with floral print. 11.5.13. One of the more accessible ABC stores for residents who don't want to drive through the Waikiki area... When this first moved into Ala Moana, I was excited! I could now easily get my hands on the infamous (in the nail world), only-in-Hawaii, Island Girl nail polishes! #confessionsofanailpolishaddict ...and at ~$4 a bottle for a decent quality nail polish, it's a score! ABC also carries the large bottles of my fav brand of water (Hawaiian); and it's usually on sale here! I also am an avid postcard writer to friends on the mainland, so I like being able to come here to find some good Hawaii-themed ones. Since it's located smack dab in the center of Ala Moana (near Center Stage), there's always a lot of tourists inside; although the store itself is large, the spacing and configuration of shelves and displays in here is kind of tight.
