I spoke to the Store Manager last week concerning the employees wearing the face masks incorrectly. They thanked me for calling and said on the employees they would retrain and they should have known better. On the customers I was told that they try but when the customer becomes belligerent they back off. Today it has been reported on the news that Walmart Corporate that they will require customers to wear the Mask. So I called today to but the Manager wasn't in I talked to second in charge. They were rude and yeah yeah yeah we know we have all customers were them to which I said no you don't that I had already spoke to the manager. Conversation ended. This review is for the customer service. I'm surprised to see such low ratings. I always receive great customer service whenever I come here. For example, the staff at the dressing room are really nice. The girls at the fabric section, Bethany and her manager are super cool and helpful and the staff that I've asked for certain items are nice. Lastly, the cashiers are very friendly especially at the self-checkout. This location have it all, McDonald's, grocery, clothing, shoes, fabric, arts and crafts, garden, pharmacy, party supplies, home good and etc. Prices are always cheap and I tell myself I should come here more often than Target. Located in a big business plaza next to Babies R Us. Lots of parking! It gets crazy busy on weekends so I like to come on weekdays when it's not so busy. Surprised to rate a Walmart so high but they were super helpful. Typical Walmart set up. Pretty clean and organized. Normally the service is lacking here but I had a great experience. I called for a stock check on a hard to find grill (I went to 5 different locations that showed stock but did not have it). The staff at the Garden Center actually searched 2 locations, spent like 10 minutes finding the grill for me and ended up finding the exact one I needed hidden outside. He noted it reserved and told me exactly where to find it when I came the next day. I had doubts it would be there but to my surprise, I found it there, waiting for me. Only reason I did not give them a 5 was that they tossed the box since it was already build and would not help me take it apart because a specific employee does that stuff. read more

I purchase car tires from Walmart online and went to Brea store to have just one mounted and balanced. I carried the old and new tire in and after 3+ hours they refused to mount it. They said they couldn't do it because I said it was for a trailer, it is a car tire that is on my Jet-Ski tailer and that is the way it came (the trailer) was when I purchased it new. So I have 8 more tires to order and will have to go to Tire Rack or online tires or any other tire shop. I will never step foot in that Walmart ever again. It won't hurt them but I'll feel better boycotting them. read more

I get that it's Walmart and that the customer service will always be a 0/10, but I had put my cart in corner of the aisle so it wouldn't be in anyone's way, and not even 15 seconds later this employee from the automotive section with glasses comes and takes my cart and starts taking my things out of it. I was literally standing on the same aisle my cart was and he came up and just took it. When I found it and confronted him. You would think someone with common sense would then apologize and return the items back in. Not this guy. So when you enter Walmart from the left entrance, as you pass Customer Service on the left, there are "pick up order" signs under the ceiling for online orders. The first sign tells you to go straight ahead to the back. The next arrow tells you to turn right (you are currently at the far back left side of the store) then the pick up arrow tells to make a right around the middle of the store (leads to cashiers) when you get under the last sign for pick up, it says U turn and when you face back where you came from, the pick up order sign says to make a right (so instead of making a right towards the cashier's, you should've gone straight ahead) hen I couldn't find the next signs. I got fed up with this and asked where to go. Employee says to go to the Garden area. By the time I made my whole circle around the store, I finally found the garden area. (By the way, at this point, there are ZERO signs where the pick up is.. NOT even in front of the Garden area) Do you know where the Garden was??? Literally the other side of the entrance, as in, instead of going to the back of the store (the first few signs), just make a RIGHT from the entrance and you hit Garden. What the flying f!??!!?! I literally circled my whole way around Walmart aimlessly looking for signs that lead you around the whole store. And the young lady at the Garden was on her phone chatting away when I showed her my barcode and before I could even finish my sentence of "I came to pick up my online order" She told me to go to customer service. They don't do this at the Garden anymore. So I walk back (this was when I realized I took 3 right turns when I could've just taken one) and waited 30 mins with the returns and other customer service to tell me to GO to the THE GARDEN SECTION. Apparently, the customer service is only for Uber and postmates!?!?! I assume she thought I was Uber or she just wanted to go back to her phone. We had a cashier Bala. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. My four year old daughter had an item she wanted to buy as a Christmas gift. It was a chocolate coin. The item was not tagged. The guy took it and said we couldn't have it because it wasn't tagged and put it in his drawer. My husband said we'd like to have it. My husband offered to run back and get another one and was told no. My husband then started taking his items out of the bags to return to the shopping floor and was told he couldn't do that either and He had to restart his shopping from the get go. Then to add insult to injury he had to wait in line all over again just so my 4 year old could get her gift. Ive never experienced anything like it. Laziest worker ever. Deals, maybe..? Rudeness? Hell yes. Walked to the video game section to pick up Smash Bros for my nephews. Pushed the little red button halfway down the aisle for assistance, figured I wouldn't get a response the first time around thinking to myself how many people have pushed this button and then just left the aisle only for an employee to show up for nothing, so I pushed it again and waited. Still nothing. I walked over to the electronics counter and waited behind a customer talking to an employee, the customer was awkwardly half smiling while turning to leave as the employee was joking with her he didn't need this job anyway. Odd convo, not important... I asked the man if I could get some help with the Nintendo case. I don't finish asking before he's very rudely waving me away telling me to go "bother" the other older employee walking towards the Televisions. This man, in a tone filled with perplexity and exasperation that I even exist or could be asking for help for something in his department... "please, go bother her..." The other employee they're pointing to is helping another customer now and they're headed in another direction. Continues to tell me to bother someone else as I'm walking the other way. Finally, I asked the person working in the photo development area for help, he sighed and told me to give him a minute while he finished packing a photo envelope. This store's Auto Service Center has dishonest employees that lie to their customers (e.g., they told me a perfectly good tire that had a slow leak that the tire's sidewall was damaged) Furthermore, they claimed the sidewall was so bad that the tire would tear apart during removal from hub. Due to the fact they installed the wrong new tire (black wall instead of a white wall) the tire labeled too bad to survive remove from hub had to be reinstalled on the hub. That terrible tire not only survived reinstallation but it stayed inflated. I had to order a whitewall tire online from Walmart. After waiting a week, the tire arrived at this store. To have it installed, I had to make an appointment. Which took me an hour of trying due to the lack of personnel to answer the phone in the Auto Service Center. To add insult to injury they charged me an installation fee. Moreover, the employees that waited on me weren't wearing a face mask properly during a statewide mask mandate. This Wal-Mart is located in a shopping center on the corner of Imperial Hwy and Kraemer. It is easily accessible from either street. The parking lot is big, but it still gets pretty crowded, unless you come first thing in the morning. This is my least favorite Wal-Mart to shop at for a couple of reasons. The first one being that no matter what time or day it is, there's ALWAYS some group set up by the entrance and exit soliciting for money. It's annoying as all heck! Secondly, for this being one of the newer, bigger Wal-Marts in the area, I find the variety in the grocery section to be very limited compared to the Orange and Fullerton locations. Once inside, well, it's Wal-Mart, and it certainly has that discount store vibe. Customer service is hit and miss. I haven't encountered any down right rude employees, but the majority of them don't excel in making my shopping experience more pleasant. I'll stop in to this store if I'm already nearby, but I'd rather drive a little further to Orange or Fullerton if I plan ahead. read more

Wal-mart is the largest retailer in the world. It's the 3rd largest public corporation in the universe with over 2 million employees that support one of the biggest warehouse chains in the galaxy. As funny as it may seem, Wal-mart still remains a family owned business, controlled by the Walton family. The company's revenue in 2012 consisted of almost 450 billion dollars. Want to know the definition of filthy rich? It means - very rich, possibly having become so by unfair means. Life is so unfair, unless you're a Walton. This Brea location is just a blip on the map, amongst 8500 stores operating in 15 countries, under 55 different business entities. There are 20 different Wal-mart stores within a 12 mile radius of my residence. To say that I can't find one close by would be a flat out lie since they've pretty much decimated the competition. There's even a Wal-mart Market opening soon in La Palma that will operate mainly as a grocery store with limited services and selection of their general merchandise. That spells really bad news for local supermarket chains. Even though I might choose not to shop at this Brea location, it's hard not to when it comes to cheap prices and abundant selection. They're always stocked with merchandise and their prices are cheaper than Target or K-mart. They got everything here. Meaning, even their food and produce selection is vast. Services at this location include an optometrist, an in store McDonald's, pharmacy, photo center, tire & lube, a tax specialist (Wal-mart partners with H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, Liberty Tax Service), and a nail salon. The clientele seems to be at a higher income bracket (since we are in Brea) and the store is a lot cleaner and well managed compared to the other locations that I've shopped at. A lot of people even joke about the type of customers that shop at Walmart, which prompted the creation of this website (http://www.peopleofwalmart.com). FREAKING HILARIOUS! All jokes aside, I'm on the fence with Wal-mart. If you've ever worked for a large corporation, you know that as companies get big, they're dangerous because of the impact it can have on the people, the environment, the communities, and it's shareholders. Let's not even get into Wal-mart's unfair policies and business practices, including charges of racial and gender discrimination. I would like to love Wal-mart, but something tells me that I can't at the moment, only because I know bigger is not always better. To put it another way, shopping at Wal-mart doesn't always mean that you believe in everything that the company stands for. I have 2 walmarts I go to pretty often. The location off Lemon in Fullerton, and then this one in Brea. The Fullerton one is the full size walmart with a legit grocery area, and larger shopping center over all. I still tend to come to this Brea location more often though for smaller shopping, as its a little more convenient (no racial hate, but the Fullerton one gets PACKED with mexican families that make shopping impossible). Customer service here is always friendly and pretty helpful - if you manage to actually find anyone. They seem to be understaffed. Though it could be because they tend to hire individuals who are 55+, so they are slow to get around... The worst thing about this location is their cashiers. There is the small handful of quality register workers, but the majority of them are really slow with the job, and the lines get real long real fast. Over all, the store is pretty clean, well stocked, and has just about everything I need minus the large grocery area. They did remodel the grocery area not too long ago and did manage to expand it a bit. Still no where near the Fullerton size, but it still worked out quite nicely... There is the eye center here too, but I have never used their services. Over all, I think they should work on their hiring process. I'm sure the youthful employees are the ones in back receiving shipments and stocking overnight. They could use some youth during the day to help with customer service though. read more

Trust. That is what this store is missing. I went there to buy formula for my baby since I was at babies r us next door. Well, one thing led to another and it was a full blown shopping excursion. I went to the baby section first and noticed the formula was all locked up like a bunch of iPads or something. Both La Habra stores don't do this and this store is in a higher socioeconomic area. An associate came to help us after we pushed the button to get her. She first put the formula in our cart then took it out since we were still shopping. Really?! Did she think we were going to steal this stuff? Come on now... What saved this store from one star was the excellent customer service by Eric at checkout. He was super polite and engaging and friendly. He went out of his way to talk to us and even gave props to my 2 year old for helping him bag stuff. I mean really, let's be honest, this is Walmart. They're not known for their customer service. But this guy was great. I don't usually remember cashier's names, but he left a really good impression on my family and me. Never enough of many things, they just don't stock well. Looked online, it said that the Brea store had 5 items left of what I needed. There was none. Spoke to a Walmart employee who was stocking the area and asked about it and he said said there is no more. Told him there should be 5 left according to what your store says online. Without even checking, he said the truck was coming in the same evening at 7:30. I said, "great" what about the 5 that are supposed to be here? Still wouldn't check. Laaaaazy! May be its me or if others have experienced this, but, I was trying to return marketplace order that I bought online and this store told me I can't do that. Store has not given any issues in returning things if I buy in store in the past, but, looms like the store doesn't accept Walmart marketplace returns. The market place store took whole month to just give me return label and had to make upwards of 15 calls and same number of emails to finally receive return label and after that another 3 weeks, and several calls and emails to receive my refund. In future, I don't plan to buy things from Walmart Marketplace. read more

Warning to customers and especially parents with kids around the store, I usually don't write these types of "warning" reviews but please keep away from some miserable older man working in the parking lot moving the shopping carts, short (around 5'3-5'4), around 60 years old with grey hair. Usually someone like this doesn't warrant special attention however for the past few weeks during my visits he's been rambling and loudly arguing with no one around him. I thought thought he was some homeless guy just hanging by the front judging by the way he was acting but it turns out he's an employee. I have usually ignored him but today when I was coming back from my shopping trip, he went up to us to as I was placing stuff into my car, to retrieve carts that were left around the parking lot when he suddenly starts giving us the nastiest glares and start to walk around the car, the entire time staring at us. I was outside making sure he didn't do anything. He then starts to ramble to himself and cusses out loud as if someone was telling him something. I have no idea why he would do this, we didn't say a word to him. everybody seems to leave him alone and let him. I understand if he has some mental issue that maybe he can't control it. But he should not be around people like that given his aggressive behavior. I've already alerted management of this but this man seems like he's not fit to be around people and might one day cause a serious issue. read more

The worst Walmart ever. Here's why: 1. The person on the intercom either really wants to go home early or this place does NOT want anyone in here even 1 min after closing at 11pm. Also...why 11? Most Walmart's are open until 1-2am? The guy on the intercom announces every hour and every minute they're closing 2. The 2 people in the TV department are complete morons. We waited there for about 30 minutes just for the register to work because they're tags weren't working. We could have still been shopping around, and then WE get blamed in the end for taking so long? When WE are the customers to purchase things? Strange... also, who in their right mind would stand a TV up on its side and leave it leaning against the counter? Dont you know TVs need to be standing up. That's how they break?.. 3. The lady's are all rude there. They told my fiancé (who was looking at Keurigs over $100 ea) to basically chose 1 and hurry up and make a decision now and what she is doing there. That was extremely rude. When my fiancé grabbed one and said fine, they were all nice to her afterwards as in thinking and judging her that she was just there to window shop and not buy anything. 4. The register girls are extremely rude 5. The manager with the yellow jacket was rude too. We asked for his assistance to the car and he was just like ugh, fine attitude... like come on... do your job people and be nice about it. I get it, you're not getting payed a ton of money for you job, but it's easy. I worked a very stressful and hard job for minimum wage and yes, I did complain after I got off, but I still smiled and did my job and helped customers every way I could. Here at Walmart off imperial getting oil change in the old Toyota. I have been here multi times for oil change as well bought 2 sets of tires for this truck and a set a while back for my Dodge truck. This place has always been reliable and has done very exceptional work. Great price on name brand tires, you also receive free rotate and balance for the life of the tire. Pretty experienced mechanics as I have observed during my trips. Just so you know I could have done all this myself blindfolded oil change and tires but I don't want to... I am here after 2 hours today which is unlike this Walmart waiting on my services to be complete. It amazes me that I had to remind them to rotate my tires another hour as of now and still waiting. As I was in the garage I noticed the mechanic removing the tires on my tundra and starting to swap them around. I stopped the mechanic and ask why I am not receiving the service I requested as rotate and BALANCE ? The response was you didn't request the tires to be balanced! My response was who in their right mind just rotated tires without balancing them? What the purpose on just rotating them ? Suggestion Walmart mechanics think before you ask a question like this about your profession. So we are into about another 30 mins here and I got to tell you with these new employees here today I am amazed the vehicles lined behind me are still here. Personal I have 40 employees myself and if they worked at this pace I would be broke. Seems customer service is out the window at this Walmart too. I see more standing around than anything , these guys must not have a incentive to actually care about the customers or I would not still be here after 3 hours for a simple oil change tire rotation and balance . About an 1 hour job. Walmart support the hidden auto shop in the back of your stores. Acknowledge they are part of your team!! You let them take 3 hours to change oil and rotate/ balance tires after customers have to remind them. I am not into posting chapters like this but your auto shop is entirely to slow.
