I used to really enjoy shopping at Daiso, but lately it's been getting harder to justify because they keep raising the prices. I still remember when most items were around $1.50, and that was the whole appeal--cheap, fun finds that felt like a true "100 yen shop." What's frustrating is that prices in Japan haven't gone up at all, and with the yen being weaker, you'd think it would be cheaper here if anything... but it's gone the complete opposite direction. I'm not expecting U.S. prices to match Japan (I get that a 100 yen item is like 70 cents there), but charging 3.5x more is honestly ridiculous. At this point, it doesn't feel anywhere close to the original "100 yen shop" concept anymore. read more

Love my local Daiso Store. Every time i come here especially for my spam musubi molds and yesterday visited to grab some items for Bento boxes cute accessories and making my daughters lunch all cute. They had what i was looking for. The prices were great $ 1.75 each items. Store was neatly stocked and clean. Located in the same plaza as Kohls, Ralphs & a few doors down from Joanns Fabric. Service was great & fast. I'd definitely recommend Daiso. They carry particularly all Japanese items, i mean they are a Japanese Asian store. Ok I have been meaning to write a review for Daiso for a really long time so here I am lol and Yelp keeps reminding me that I haven't yet. I haven't come here in about a month to be honest with you, but I really love coming here. They have the cutest things for baby girl and things for the house really delicious Japanese treats or just treats in general they have just the cutest things. I love coming here if you want cute stuff for your kids or for yourself it's inexpensive too. The parking lot is a little crazy. It's the same parking lot as Kohl's, but it's the only one that I know of close by. They do have the one in Buena Park that I've been to, but I like this location cause it's near by and they have everything that I need or don't need LOL. I'm sure everybody has been here before. It's really cute, I should come here more often LOL It's definitely a store to walk around and find adorable and yummy stuff. I came in here looking for a few random things for my apartment and was surprised to find basically everything here. This store literally has it all and at such great prices as well. The manager Jennifer helped me find some items, she was very helpful and knew where everything was. This is the closest Daiso to my house so I will definitely be returning. read more

This Daiso location is located on Yorba Linda Blvd, between cross streets Bradford Ave and Sapphire Rd, near Ralph's and Kohls. As all Daiso locations, the shelves are always organized and fully stocked, from seasonal to every day items that range from the kitchen to the outdoors. Not only are housewares available, but also snacks, candy, and drinks. They have a great selection, especially with items Made in Japan. Sometimes, one may only need one or two things, but sometimes one will happen upon other items that they did not know they needed and leave with more! All items are $1.75, unless it is noted on the price tag. Yes, the price has gone up since Daiso locations opened up in California, due to inflation, but it is still a very reasonable price. There are price conversion charts throughout the store as well, especially near items that are not the norm $1.75. Service is always great and it is always a treat to stop by. The parking lot can be a hit or miss, depending on the day or time of the week, but I have had no issues finding parking every time I stop by. read more

My jaws drop for the normal 10 utems i got today were normallt $1.50 each. Due to inflation the items now costing $27 bucks. For a second i thought it was calculated wrongly. The little snack normally $1.50 is now $3.25. What normally $1.50 is now $3.25 mostly with no price tag only u get to cashier than you find out its $3.25 now. $1.50 item Now $1.75. read more

This was a nice Daiso store in the Placentia-Yorba Linda área, (Technically Fullerton). There wasn't a whole lot of people shopping when I came - ofcourse it was raining heavily but that never stops people and people were keeping their distance too. Wide aisles and nice selection of items, well stocked and fast check out. Located in large shopping center with lots of parking, I like this location, will definitely come back! read more

Can you saw $1.50 store (or $2.50 for some items)? Honestly, didn't know what to expect when I walked in. At first it looked like a grocery store, but it really it like Japanese Dollar store. The store is extremely bright and very clean. They seriously had a mishmash of items, some from Japan, but I laughed that I saw a couple items made in the USA! The items found here are perfect for a small apartment and maybe a dorm room. I ended up buying a couple small spray bottles, but that's all. it was fun to browse though! read more

This is a fun store to visit once in a while just to take a look around at all the different things they have. But there's nothing worse Then when a pleasant shopping experience is killed by the rude people at the checkout counter. I love this store, it is a traveler's paradise! I am completely obsessed with anything travel related and purchase travel merch at least twice a week (mostly from Amazon, yikes!). Not only does Daiso carry travel supplies, they carry items small enough to be used for travel. They have a large selection of pouches, packing cubes, compression bags, toiletries, liquids bottles, refillable perfume bottles, compact travel duffles and backpacks and a whole lot more. One of the items I purchased was a collapsible travel cup which I had been searching for ever since I saw someone else with one and thought it would come In handy. Now, is this stuff great quality? Not by a long shot but the prices match the quality so their products will last until they don't. I'm thinking I will get at least 5-10 uses out of most of these pieces. If they last beyond my upcoming trip in May, it will be worth the few dollars I spent in this store. Daiso is comparable to dollar tree or 99 Cent store but they only carry Japanese products. Of course they carry a lot more than just travel merch. They have a lot of household and beauty supplies as well but the quality of their merchandise is pretty consistent throughout the store. Daiso is the Japanese version of the dollar store, but the items starts at $1.50 instead of a buck. Not all items are $1.50, as some (not many) are marked as high as $4. If you like the cutsie Asian stuff like pseudo Hello Kitty, you'll like this store. They have almost every kind of knick knacks from snacks, school supplies, cell phone accessories, make up, dishes, pet stuff, and household stuff. This particular Daiso is located in a strip mall off Yorba Linda, about a mile from the 57 freeway next to a JoAnn's. Plenty of parking in the front, and a decent size Daiso. While it is well laid out, the inventory is not very large. It is rather deceptive that you think it would have more choices on their goods, until you peruse the section and realize the selection is quite limited. This store is just A OK. I didn't find what I wanted, and will probably go to the Anaheim one, or maybe even a Dollar Tree/ 99c only store and see what they have. Also, no public bathrooms, but don't ask the girls where you can find one. One girl suggested the Carl's Jr across the parking lot. Lucky I remembered that JoAnn's has one, and went next door, to the rear of the store. Whew. read more

Best store EVER!!! I have a huge love for everything Japanese, so coming in here is a HUGE treat. I love that it has ¥ on it. Going around getting rice bowls and chopsticks. I feel like a kid in a candy store here. What's nice is its not super expensive. I love up front there is disney dishes up front. Besides the supply, I love the staff. Let's face it Daiso is the Japanese version of Target; you walk in for one thing and come out with twenty! This location is really nice. It's super clean and spacious all around and has every little thing you can think of. They're well stocked and really well organized. On top of everything the customer service is nice and helpful. I can easily spend $100-$200 in this store. They have everything from origami paper, Japanese candies, to adorable Japanese cups and utensils. They have these tiny basket sized shopping carts. And aisles and aisles of things to fill up your house with. If you are a hoarder then this is the store for you. read more

Not as much selection of items compared to other Daiso stores I've been to. At least this store had plenty of walking space between the aisles and is not as crowded. The workers are also very friendly. I asked for an item, and instead of telling me which aisle it's located in, they walked with me to show me where it is and asked me if I needed anything else. Love Daiso!!! This store is relatively small in size compared to others. But they have a pretty good selection of items from housewares, snacks, supplies, baskets, etc. Consider this place a little discount store. Be careful when you enter as you end up buying more than you anticipated. I went in just to buy a clock and I ended up leaving with multiple items in my bags. I'm glad I made a trip today because I was looking for a little dispenser for my makeup products such as toner dispenser with a pump that I bought years ago from another Daiso. To my surprise they restocked the item back on the stores . I have been to other stores and casually checked for the same item but was never able to find it. I'm so glad it was brought back to the store and I ended up buying two of these bottles. If you see something that you like, buy it as inventory changes. Also, all sales are final. Besides I have never returned items to a Dollar Tree or 99 cents store so I am okay with that policy. read more

Mostly everything is $1.50 and a lot of other stuff is $3 but still nice for the cheap price. But you can totally redecorate a room for under $30 here! read more

I go to this place way too often. Yes, everything is $1.50 or above (instead of $0.98 or $0.99), but the extra $0.51 or $0.52 that I'm paying is worth it!. This Daiso is like any of the others: same consistency in terms of quality of goods, quality of service, and the price of goods. I tend to like the designs from Daiso more than 99 cent store or Big Lots simply because the designs are just cuter. Most of the time, the other bargain stores have a more simpler design or they aren't caring too much on quality, but Daiso tries to bring more into their business, and it shows. I also like on how this Daiso is as clean as the others. No leakage of any foods, no weird smells, no odd stains on the tile/linoleum floor. Service has always been polite and professional. Plenty of parking, as well. NO RETURNS OR REPLACEMENTS (unless it doesn't function as it should). Personally, I've been going after their storage items, laundry items, and stationery items. :P Hubby likes going through their kitchen/cooking inventory. read more

I found this place on yelp and I saw that it had a good reviews so I thought I would check it out but the place doesn't deserve four stars. First, there wasn't any type of paying system which I hated because I always use Apple Pay and that was the first place that didn't it but I thought it was going to be ok because I had a a $100 dollar bill so I went and got what I needed and it close to closing time and I had like 10 minutes. So I got all the thing I needed and was in the line so I can check out, then it's my turn and I go she checks out everything I needed and when I give her the $100 she said "the total has to be $50 if I wanted to use a $100 bill and my total was $30.56 so then I get some more stuff and go back to the employee and she tells me to go to the back of the line. Then, it's my turn again so I go and she scanned all my items and I was only $4.00 short but then the store closes and I have to get out of there. Now your probably thinking it's my fault for not checking the price but I was trying to find the price of the item but it wasn't anywhere not on the package nor hanger for the supplies and/or items. So I really think that this place has the worse service ever but nothing compares to that employee "Michelle." And like I said this place is horrible and doesn't deserve four stars. read more

I'm disappointed today. There was clearly someone waiting in line to pay and the employees allowed someone not in line to pay first like are you kidding me. That is an insult and rude to the customer waiting in line. Wish the employees respected their own rules. Also didn't have regular masking tape but have for art, duct tape, double sided, and packaging tape but no regular masking tape. Wish they had more variety of things. read more

So many of my friends swear by Daiso so I was super pumped when I realized this one was right by my work. However, I was a little let down. I'm not sure if they're going through a remodel or were getting new stock soon but it seemed a bit barren, especially for the month leading up to the holidays. I will concede there are some super cool things there - my kids would have a field day - but I left empty handed. A lot of their products seemed like things you'd find in the Dollar Store but not quite as nice as the dollar bin at Target. I'd probably come back if I were prepping for a kids party and needed goody bag items, but I don't think this will be in my regular rotation of stores. I'll happily take tips on what I'm missing here! read more

If I could negative stars I would!!!! I came into daiso today to pick up my favorite candy and had the WORST experience! It looks like the place needs better management and team building because there was a very hostile employee and seemed like he was bullying another staff member. He kept shouting... I was very uncomfortable. Daiso needs to do better with their staff. I was able to get a look at his name and it was Robert. I made a yelp specifically for this because i don't think it's right for employees to create a hostile environment and make customers feel uncomfortable. Daiso is one of my favorite stores. It is a Japanese equivalent of a 99 cents store. The quality of the products are excellent and very reasonably priced. You can purchase a variety of items: sunglasses, slippers, beauty items, cute Japanese stationary, bowls and cups. Items are priced between $2.00 to $10.00. It is a good place to buy sunglasses and nice stationary items which are beautifully designed. The staff are friendly and helpful. A great place to shop! read more
