I'm still not sure what to make of Grocery Outlet Bargain Market (similar time ALDI, but not quite)but I do shop here out of convenience since it's in the same lot as the gym I go to. It's pretty much empty every time I visit which is nice. Things I wasn't able to find here: a wine opener of all things (but tons of wine), fresh slices of pineapple. Other than that, they have tons of wine choices that are pretty good for the price and quality, Apple Pay, all the keto approved baking ingredients (coconut flour, erythritol) at a discount price. Store is always clean and workers are always helpful. It's great if you want to shop in total peace with no stress on finding parking or carts... kind of like the opposite of shopping at Trader Joes.

Regular backpack i use since having kids. Since its not a purse i cannot enter with it

En route to baseball practice, I stopped by Ralph's to grab a case of water for an event and as usual, it was a smooth experience. This Ralph's store has a Starbucks but no one else was in-line for coffee. I get weary of no one ordering (from SB kiosk) as it's an indicator that service may not be efficient or drinks not prepared well. There's a bakery department (on one entrance) and floral department (on the other entrance). There is an employee stationed at each entrance helping with dozen self-checkout stations. I saw only one non-self checkout line that has a bagger to assist customers wanting personal assistance. Just review for purchasing water, the store was well-stocked, and the water section had plenty of options. I found what I needed quickly, and checkout was efficient at the five self-checkout stations at each side of the entrances. It's always reliable for picking up essentials like this.

I love coming to Alberstons for their sales including the digital coupons you just clip on their ap or the $ 5 dollar Friday deals that's only valid on Friday. The store is usually fully stocked on all items unless it's a really good deal/score then they might be out but usually always restocking. The aisle and store is well kept and clean, easy to find stuff. Associates are really nice. I knew i loved this bakery department especially when I've seen their cakes on display I've admire for years with the cake decorating skills. I finally met one of the awesome cake decorator, Nicole Marquez. Really sweet mama indeed and she's very accommodating. I've referred a handful of customers to her that needed last minute cakes. And from all the customers feedbacks, she was able to accomplish all requests. I ordered a bday cake from Albertsons and showed Nicole the style of cake i wanted and she definitely delivered it. Tysm Nicole for making my bday a memorable one. You're the best! TIP~ download the Albertsons app to get great deals and offers.

Albertsons in Placentia is basically the "I got you" grocery store of the neighborhood. Clean? Yep…read more Bright? Yep. Shelves stocked like they're prepping for the apocalypse? Absolutely. And the best part--plenty of self-checkout machines, so you can skip the small talk and scan your lettuce in peace. Now, the produce section... look, it's fine, but let's just say I've had longer emotional connections with spinach that didn't wilt overnight. BUT their bakery totally redeems them. The fresh French bread--especially right before dinner--comes out so warm and steamy it practically whispers, "Take me home." And I do. Every time. The staff is generally super nice and polite, though occasionally you'll meet someone who clearly fought an epic battle with their alarm clock that morning. No shade--I usually hit the self-checkout anyway, so we all win. Overall, it's a solid, reliable grocery store with everything I need for my everyday chaos--I mean, household needs. Would I come back? Already did. Probably twice this week.

This was an absolutely ridiculous experience, especially for a grocery store. I was at self-checkout, scanning items when I scanned something that showed a different price from what I had seen on the shelf. I pressed the call attendant button and she was finishing up helping customers at another self-checkout machine. She came over and I told her the price was different than what I saw on the shelf, and asked if she could remove the item so I could go and grab another item from the shelf. She proceeded to cut me off while I was trying to talk, then YELLED at me and told me that because I already entered my number for the Ralph's rewards card, I HAD TO buy/pay for that item. Then when I tried to explain again because she had cut me off and didn't let me finish talking, she had the audacity to make a "calm down" gesture. I never raised my voice nor used any sort of foul/rude language towards her. She was the one yelling and spitting in my face. I was confused because I don't think she understood what I was trying to say or even listening to what I was trying to say. I told her I wanted to void the item and go back and grab another item instead and she absolutely ignored everything I said. She kept saying I HAD TO pay for the item because "while I was scanning my items, I had enough time to see the price". What the heck is that supposed to mean???!!? I just wanted the item to be void so I could grab something else within the price point I was looking for. She wasn't listening or understanding anything I was trying to say. How do you have a customer service facing job when you lack any and all sort of communication skills and manners? She was so busy yelling nonsense at me and ignored everything I said. She also SPAT in my face as she was yelling in my face. That's not only unprofessional, but extremely rude and disgusting. This should not be a position for her to be working. She was unhelpful, rude, and made my grocery shopping trip extremely unpleasant when all I was trying to do was grab stuff for dinner. My suggestion - skip the self-checkout and go to a regular cashier. It'll save you the headache and so you won't get spat at by a rude employee.

So I reaffirmed their statement by asking, "so I have to buy either all 4pk or 6pk, or none of them?", to which they stated "yes." Ok, well I guess I'm not getting anything.... So I did not get any. I don't want to buy over $100 worth of 4pk-beer to try a wide selection lol I want spend 25 bucks . After I checked out with the rest of my groceries, I went to the customer service booth and asked why they did not sell their tall cans individually. I explained the story above, and the guy let me know it was because they did not want to mess up their inventory in the back. I brought up that nearly every other business lets customers buy the cans individually OR in a pack, and the guy again mentioned it was because they did not want their backstock to get messy. That is the most ridiculous answer ever. Either buy all of the beer, or none of the beer to keep the company's backstock leaner? What on earth does that have to do with being a customer? And come on... selling individual cans would not at all impact the backstock whatsoever, if we are being real. Having a few individual cans out would increase sales, not mess up the backstock or inventory... come on. The guy at the customer service booth told me I could place a special order in the back to pick up at a future date if I wanted to buy a bunch of single cans. It was an unrealistic suggestion for something that they had on hand right now, that I wanted to buy right now. I'm not going to go to the back and place a special order, and come back in a week or so to pick up a few cans of beer. It was a bad experience, but it was mostly just stupid and didn't make any sense. And I didn't end up buying anything.

Even though each store has a strengths, I feel like overall Bristol Farms is the better of the two. This is speaking as millennial and maybe Bristol Farms serves a more immature crowd. Literally something for everyone their bakery is delicious and of course they have their classic big cookies that are served warm. I haven't had anything from the juice/coffee bar yet, but I will next, however the poke bar and the hot bar, never disappoints and that is why I'm writing this review finally. Today I had a flounder piccata mashed potatoes, perfectly roasted vegetables, and pasta Bolognese with huge chunks of beef. Everything was delicious. The flounder even remained crunchy two hours after leaving the store they don't have the variety in the hot bar that Whole Foods has, however, the quality is far superior, and the flavor is in the upper echelon compared to Whole Foods. These are consistent findings within the self-service food area even within the deli carving station. Sometimes they have turkey briskets. I believe I've even purchased prime rib there and the quality and flavor is always on point consistently the presentation of all of their items never fails either also, every time I go to Bristol Farms you're always greeted with a smile. The staff is really nice and in general they look like they're happy to be there which makes the shopping experience that much better.

Last week I loaded up on six New York steaks for $8.99/lb, and this week they have porterhouse steaks for $9.99/lb which I also loaded up on. I put the individual steaks in plastic wrap, then a layer of aluminum foil, and put them in a zip lock bag and get out as much air as possible before sealing and putting them in the freezer. This keeps them good for a long time, and I just keep buying them when great deals like this are available. There are usually two or three steaks per package, and it seems like they often put a really good cut in with a not as good cut. Look thru them all to find the best pairs with two good cuts. Every time I walk into the store, there is a sushi station right by the east entrance where somebody is always there making fresh sushi daily. It always looks so good and fresh. You can either choose from what is on display, or place an order and pick it up later after it has been prepared. I called ahead and asked if they I could order sashimi, and was happy when they said yes because I've only seen sushi on display before. I ordered half salmon and half tuna ($8.99), and it was ready when I arrived 20 minutes later. The sashimi was so fresh, and the pieces were surprisingly bigger and thicker than I expected. It came with a package of soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. This was far superior to a sashimi sampler I ordered from another restaurant this past weekend, and this was several dollars cheaper. Judy, who was at the counter today, was so kind and friendly. I do pick up some regular grocery items from time to time, and their prices seem to be on par with or just slightly below my regular grocery store. I'll continue to take advantage of their great sales on steak. I'm happy I finally tried their sushi, it's great!

I also hate that you have to answer a couple of questions every time you swipe/tap to pay. They always want a donation for something, and/or ask, "Would you recommend this location to someone else?" I'd like to opt out of those. The selection around the store is pretty good, and they do have good sales.
