I love this Smart and Final. There is always a good amount of parking spaces and the staff is friendly. I recently bought a lot of snacks for a birthday party and stayed within my budget. It's the middle of the day on a Monday and the lines here are crazy. That have 2 1/2 people working registers ...I say a half because one guy keeps turning his light on and off like he's trying to get out. I ran in real quick for the 2 for $7 deal they had on water, but the two main lines open had about 7 people each in them. The parking here sucks too, not many spaces and they are all mostly small, so good luck if you have a big car. Lots of old ladies mean mugging each other for parking. I ended up parking in the furthest possible spot because that's all that was available...which is fine because I'm able-bodied, BUT the kicker is that there were NO cart return stations except at the very front by the entrance. That already was annoying since I had to park so far, but I can only imagine that's a nuisance times 10 for a handicapped person! Way too far to go to do that. Makes sense why my cashier said to another cashier, "we don't have any carts left... they keep taking them all." More like no one wanted to walk back so they were scattered all over the lot. ‍Just saying. Won't be returning. read more

Instead of walking to get my groceries, I will drive 10 minutes out of my way to go to a different grocery store due to how poor the service is here. Somehow I always end up in Laura's line. She is not nice at all. She has started arguments with my boyfriend & friends multiple times. one argument being if it was a cucumber or zucchini???? WTF??? I am extremely disappointed in the management here & hate going in here. But sometimes I don't have time to go to my other grocery store. This was always my go to when I was in desperate need of items for the restaurant but it also really comes in handy when you're throwing a party or making a large batch or just looking for some good stuff that you don't normally find elsewhere. Every time I come here there's something new on display that I just have to have, especially during the holiday season right now! I feel so awful for The cashier employees the managers there all talk shit on them, always saying no one wants to work but I understand why they're losing employees because of the poor bad management specially the boss Daniel the two main managers Carolina and Bibiana horrible severs! I met an excellent cashier Linda, i believed from cashier 1. I bought 2 packets of hot dogs. She noticed the meat of one pack looks paler compared to the other. A standard grocery store like any others. Though this one is robust enough to have a good stock of janitorial supplies. And most of it is cheap, if you can find what you're looking for, which will probably be the case. The Grocery Outlet on Raymond is still cheaper, but the selection here is better for most of anything; it can work to alternate between the two depending on making sure you get what you need. The selection is also good enough to not need to go to Ralph's, but that's good as an option too (if you're not too spoiled by the prices elsewhere, like here). Fish is usually limited, the bagged popcorn has a weird plastic taste, sometimes they're out of vegetables, veggie patties are way expensive, and the cold beer selection could be better. But the First Street store brand usually does okay, and can be a great, cheap alternative if it's something you need but don't have to have the highest quality. read more

This location is older and not as nice as the Tustin store. I'll have to shop here a few times to figure out the layout of their merchandise. Unlike other reviews I found the employees to be friendly, and checkout was fast. Parking isn't to bad, but might be difficult in the evenings. From an ugly ducking with a sprained ankle to a flying swan. This unit had an Extreme Makeover, and I think everyone who shopped here before will really like the move and renovation next door. Smart and Final is now bigger, cleaner, newer than ever. They took over the former Drug Emporium. That DE at this location was a dying swan forever before they finally closed it down. In its place is one of the larger Smart and Final of the 15 or so I've ever been to. It's completely redone inside, new lighting, new walls, new tiles, etc. There were some great deals that day I went. They sell the same collection of melons that Vons has - like your regular watermelon and cantaloupe. But the also sold some Casabas, Crenshaws, and Galias. The difference is, Von's sells them for 99 cents a pound, while SM sold them for half of Von's price. They had normally $4.00 boxes of Special K cereal for $1.88. I bought some California brand potato chips for $1 a bag, similar to Hawaiian style chips made in small batches. A 24 cube of Pepsi was $5, and the cleaning products - especially the large, generic ones, are always a great deal. It really feels just like a large grocery store but with some bulk items. I love the packaging stuff...I can buy take out boxes and bowls that the restaurants use. So, whenever I go to a picnic or want to bring lunch to work, here is where I shop for the containers, and maybe even the bulk food I'd bring to a pot luck - like chicken wings and frozen lasagne. Greats deal on bottled beers. The one thing that might bug you is that occasionally, someone buys a high pile of stuff for their church/temple barbecue, sorority/frat party,or lingerie party etc. without inviting you....and because they're ahead of you in line. And you can wait in line for awhile getting that person's stuff out the door. Parking sucks during school days, so beware. Otherwise, this is a decent alternative to Costco though not as cheap as the membership stores. read more

Just like an other store you have to time your visits. Try to get here early in the day and it will be quiet and aisles will be empty, get here later in the afternoon and evening and you can expect the store to be crowded. On a plus side, I enjoy being able to come in and buy a box of candy that I used to eat as a kid "Cherry Heads" formerly known as "Cherry Clan". It is quite simply put, a cherry flavored lemon head, I do not know many stores that carry this particular candy, so I was very happy that I stumbled upon them on one of my trips here BTW "Devil inside" is an old INXS song. I guess it can be added to the crappy music played at most stores. read more

This is probably one of the BEST S&F stores I have been to. Earlier this day I went to the one in Orange off Katella (and 55), and it was picked over. The shelves were literally bare, and there was nothing but chaos in the store. The staff was less than friendly, and over a HUM BUG experience. I still had a few items left on my list (coffee cups for one!) so I stopped at this location and they had their shelves fully stocked. The place was well lit, and I found everything I needed. Perhaps college kids don't shop here? Who knows! But this is now my go-to S&F for my office party goods! read more

Bought powdered donuts- moldy. Returned and received a refund. Bought egg lands best eggs, mold all over the shells. Didn't bother to return and just threw it away. As a new resident to the area, was super excited to see a smart and final near by, only to be disappointed with the quality of their inventory. I went to this store around at 3:00PM on April 02 . I spent $ 29.35 for the groceries, and when I checked out, I want to pay in cash but I don't have small bills, then gave the lady $100.35 that let her to be easier to make me a change $71. I am kindly to make more easier to her. However, she said that " You have to spent $50 above then you can pay in cash." I said " I never heard this kind of paying requirement for customers." I also asked her "it is your company's policy?" She didn't hesitate to answer " it is !". I know she lied to me. I didn't have time to argue with her because I need to pick up my daughter, and then I have to pay it by my credit card. I am so disappointed! I think she either didn't know how to break $100.35 bill according to the amount I spent or she always treat customers to follow her way. This is my bad experience in this store. I've been to many a S & F's but this one means something special to me. Before it was a S & F it was an ACE and prior to that it was a Drug Emporium. It was my first job and I kissed a l girl here. LOL Well there is plenty to choose from here and I love the openness of the store. This is very much a grocery store but you can buy in bulk as well. It stuck somewhere between Costco and a local grocer. Great choices of liquor, beer, fruits and veggies you could have a great time stocking your kitchen here. What is nice is, it is a quick shop for large quantity, specialty items and fresh goods. A definite gem in the grocery game! read more

If i could give no stars I would. First, my cashier Laura was extremely rude and had no mannerism. I was trying to check out and Laura was getting frustrated about how I could not hear here when her volume was very low. She proceeded to bag my items and rudely took my ID and did not acknowledge any time I said thank you. After grabbing the bags, I realized that the weight was not distributed evenly and I noticed one of the bags were ripping. I grabbed the bottle inside of my bag to put in the other one to prevent it from a spillage and she took the bottle from my hand aggressively and confiscated the items and said "you should've asked for another bag" when she was the one who did not distribute my items correctly. Overall I had a very bad experience when I was just trying to get a few groceries she was extremely annoying and had snarky comments for everything. The costumer behind us was even shocked to see how she how unprofessional she was being. read more

Good store with great, cheap products. The workers here are really friendly, but the downside is the speed of the cashiers. They're on the slower side and it's a real big pain when it's really busy with two lanes open. Either hire better staff or train the current employees. Other than them, the other employees that work the ground are very informative and helpful. read more

The only reason I'm making this review today is because of the way I was treated in the store. I've been coming here for well over 2 years and never once have been told anything about my dog . I understand that the grocery store isn't an ideal place to have an animal but I had my dog. Being that he's a service animal, fully trained, and on a leash I don't understand what the problem was. Also I was going in for a single item that I know exact location of. So in the parking lot I saw a staff member that complimented my dog, then walked in on the left hand side and another worker looked at me.... And minded his business. Now I get a little further in the store and at this time the manager (DAN) sees me and says " we're not suppose to have dogs in the store " I then replied " understood, I'll grab my item and I'll be right out" just because I didn't want to get in to real legalities with him. Then he follows me yells that I need to take my dog out of the store now bc if health department walks in and tickets him it's going to be mine. So I nodded that I heard him grabbed my chips and left out. Yet who are you yelling at. I could've easily yelled back, or even escalated the situation but I chose the higher road. I'll just make a review and call corporate on you Dan. You don't have to be rude or talk to people like you're everyone's superior. You're not god , and my dog is a service animal so the joke is on you. read more

problems with the POS system this is the worst thing I have ever seen,,, can't decide if it lazy or cheap management... I went to use my card there and their POS systems does not give you a choice of Debit or Credit if it is both... there are several things wrong with this, first off you should never use your debit card unless it is in your bank atm.. the risk is all yours,,, if you use it as a credit card you have the protection of the credit card company if there is ever a problem.. So to me this is one of 2 things, really lazy management that does not fully train it's staff or really cheap management. If they force you to use your card as a debit, lowering your protection, it also saves them the fees the credit card processor charges,, either way another reason to use amazon read more

Grocery store? Club type store? How about both? Beautiful, bright, inexpensive aisles of fresh produce, great dairy selection, most everything you'd find in a grocery store but available in bulk packaging too, like a club store. Oh, yeah, and inexpensive pricing on almost everything like a club store. But get this: no shelling out of $55 a year for membership - woo hoo! The fact that they're right around the corner from me? Bonus! I walk there a few times a week to pick out fresh produce for dinner and dessert. The staff there is aware that I'm in recovery mode (after chemo and surgery) and they're super sweet, always asking if I need help. Amazing customer service. Periodically, they will run out of something I want, like an 18 oz tray of blackberries. Shame on me for waiting too long to buy that $4 deal (every day value!) So I switch it up and buy a similar sized tray of raspberries for about the same price. Bagged salads galore if you don't want to shred your own romaine and chopped, packaged onions for the whole week to put in your meals, plus whole onions ready for the taking should you want to cry a bit and chop your own. Great little aisle of dried/ground spices - I got a huge jar of ancho chili powder here for $6 and man, do I love that stuff! Pretty decent sections of meat for the carnivorous minded among us, and soy chorizo that is sooo good, low fat, and super easy to cook with for about $1. You just can't go wrong there. Extensive snack aisle for those that munch, or partay! Bottled beverages as far as the eye can see. I totally heart Costco, but for times that I don't want to deal with the never-ending hassle of traffic, and hunting for a parking space, Smart & Final is perfect. read more

This place is hit or miss. They don't even carry every type of fruit and vegetable which I find exceptionally weird for a grocery store. Customer service here sucks sometimes... long waits and slow check outs.... I've had cashiers answering phones and checking out extremely slowly without acknowledging my presence until I paid... This is my home away from home. I like coming in the morning right when they open because I feel like I can walk around without crowds.. and the aisles and shelves are fully stocked! Smart and Final's prices are competitive with the grocery stores, and this one isn't just a bulk store like it used to be. I can buy produce here cheaper than smaller stores like Henry's and there's a pretty good selection. The staff is really friendly as well and I love when they take the time to just chat with you.
