Do not sleep on this hidden gem! It is located in the beautiful Villa Del Sol courtyard. Shopping here will make you feel like you're on a far away vacation. You will find treats and food items you cannot find anywhere else in the area! The staff is friendly and it's always a fun shopping experience. I especially love the cookies. So many to choose from. Talk a look for the experience, and I guarantee you will not leave empty handed.

The last time I was in Fullerton looked for the British Grocer but since all I had was the address, 305 North Harbor Blvd, I could not find the British Grocer. This time I had both the address and the fact it was inside a building called Villa Del Sol so I found the British Grocer. Went through the archway in front of the building, walked straight across the courtyard, and found the British Grocer. Looked around inside. Saw many interesting things. Got a ginger beer, sat on the bench in front of the British Grocer and drank it.

Everything about this charming little grocery store reminded me of when I visited a small corner shop in a quaint countryside village in England; from the dim lighting, relatively large assortment of teas to even the work desk behind the counter! I probably made at least 5 trips around that store just to make sure I took everything in. I love trying snacks from around the world and this place has a good assortment of chocolate, biscuits and sweets from England. I picked up a candy bar, a bag of hard candies and 2 (real!!) Cadbury eggs and it was about $8.50, which is very reasonable, given the shipping costs. There's even a small refrigerated section where they carry double cream, cheeses, an assortment of drinks and even haggis! To add to the charm, the 2 women behind the counter were very sweet and pleasant to talk to. I love finding little gems like this, especially now that we aren't traveling as much. For now, I'm enjoying exploring our new and surrounding towns and I'm looking forward to coming back here and trying more British food!

Back in August I came here to find items to place into an Adopt-a-Senior graduate. SO GLAD I came wonderful selection of all things Tea - a variety of tea's, tea cakes, cups, towels, cozies, pasties, greeting cards etc. If you are in the mind to host your own High or Afternoon Tea and you wish to serve traditional accompaniments... look no further. Respectfully Reviewed.

I'm always looking to help the local business and this hidden gem is located in the Villa Del Sol building, off Harbor and Amerige?... they share the same building as Hildalgo and The Cellar. There's a parking lot behind the building, but behind that is a parking garage, where you can park for 3 hours. Currently, during COVID time, the street where you normally turn in from Harbor is block off to allow people to dine al fresco. You may get sticker shock on the items, but then realize it's shipped from the UK. If you want stuff cheaper, hop on the plane or find a buddy in the UK to ship it to you. Shipping, by the way will cost you about $90 if you try to do it that way (trust me, I tried). It's not a huge store, but it will satisfy any cravings if you need digestives, teas, biscuits, or a quirky tea cozy or tea towel.

What a wonderful store! Tucked away inside the beautiful & historic Villa Del Sol, "The British Grocer" is a quaint & charming little hidden gem in downtown Fullerton. Featuring goods imported from the U.K., it's a pleasure browsing their many items including a variety of British teas with delicate tea pots & cups, candies, biscuits & cookies, snack foods, Heinz Beanz, soups, custards, beverages, mushy peas, HP Sauce & other condiments, jams, double devon cream, & much more. Under the same ownership as nearby "Ye Olde Ship" British pub, "The British Grocer" also carries some of the pub's popular items in their own freezer (e.g., sticky toffee pudding, sausage rolls, pasties, meat pies, & more). Although I was a bit disappointed to find a few items past their expiration date (be careful before you purchase), & there were no scones nor crumpets available today, the young gentleman (Donovan) working there was so kind & helpful that he made my visit an absolute delight! I'm so happy I no longer need to search all over for some my favourite treats --- (especially sticky toffee pudding). Definitely looking forward to a return visit soon! :) If you're seeking British fare in Orange County, check out "The British Grocer." COVID-19 Know-Before-You-Go: * Masks/Face-Coverings Required. * To accommodate outdoor dining due to the current mandate in Orange County, parking is now limited. Tip: Park in the garage located behind Villa Del Sol for complimentary 3-hour parking - just a short walk to "The British Grocer."

The 2 women that were there were very friendly. Answered all my questions as well. Pretty good selection of the British basics.

The British Grocer is a cute store located in the charming Villa del Sol shopping center. As you might have guessed, they sell everything British- food, souvenirs, home decor, a bit of everything. It has a decent selection (comparing to stores of this type), it has a decent size and has OK customer service. So, if you want a great selection of teas, they got it, bangers, scones, pies (mince pies included), different typed of Kit Kat, cool candies, tea cosies, "Keep Calm and Carry on" type merch, British sodas, etc. As you can imagine, prices are a bit high, but this isn't the type of place where you'd go on a regular basis, here and there, just to shop for fun, satisfy a craving, get something more unusual, exotic, very British...

Instead of going to my usual Korean market, I wanted to try something homemade and I'm so glad I did. All of their kimchi is made fresh just days prior, and they offer a great variety with different vegetables and sizes to choose from. It's a small market, but they also carry other Korean goodies, which is a nice bonus. The kimchi I got was really good! super fresh with a nice tangy flavor, well balanced seasoning, and a satisfying crunch. It wasn't very spicy, but still really flavorful and easy to enjoy. After trying their kimchi, I don't think I can go back to store bought kimchi anymore. I was a little worried about the language barrier since I don't speak Korean, but luckily their son works there full time and helped explain the different kimchi and their fermentation process. He was very knowledgeable and patient. It was really nice supporting a family business, and you can tell there is a lot of care and tradition behind their kimchi. We picked up two jars. The red kimchi is $15 and tastes just like the kimchi you get at a good Korean BBQ restaurant. It is very flavorful and pairs perfectly with grilled meat. Add some KBBQ, a fried egg, and rice and you have a great meal. The white kimchi is $19 and is lighter and refreshing. I enjoy pairing it with pork belly wraps because it balances the richness of the meat really well. It almost feels like a palate cleanser between bites. Both were absolutely delicious. Once I finish these jars, I will definitely be making the drive back again.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

The store definitely gives Daiso and Miniso energy, with shelves packed full of Disney and Sanrio inspired goodies. Some items are priced a bit higher, but honestly, Daiso lost a lot of its magic for me after bumping its base price to $2.25. What used to feel like a budget friendly treasure hunt now occasionally feels like a comedy sketch where I'm staring at a tiny plastic trinket asking myself "this cost how much?" Ebisu does have plenty of stuffed animals and the anime plushies with astronomical price tags, though. I had excitedly picked up a medium sized Stitch plushie, only to flip it over and discover it was well over $50. My heart nearly stopped. Thankfully, there are still plenty of affordable gems hidden throughout the store. My personal happy place was the stationery aisle- specifically, the glorious wall of pens. No, these aren't premium Japanese brands like Sarasa or Pilot. They're made in China pens, but they're outrageously adorable. At just $1-$3 each, they practically hopped into my basket on their own.
