Late post but was able to visit this location in March before their temp closure. Lots of cool and fun things to look at. A variety of selections in the ice cream section. Prices were a bit high since items are imported.

If you love Japanese snacks, cute collectibles, and unique finds, Ebisu Life Store in Anaheim is such a fun spot to explore. The store just opened recently and it's packed with all kinds of goodies--from Japanese snacks and drinks to beauty products, toys, anime figures, and blind boxes. One of the first things you notice when you walk in is how bright, clean, and organized everything is. There are aisles full of imported treats you don't usually see in regular grocery stores, plus a huge selection of collectibles and plushies. They also have claw machines and fun game areas, which adds to the whole experience and makes it feel more like an entertainment stop than just a shop.

Pretty cool store with a ton of Japanese snacks, drinks, makeup/skincare and blind boxes. They also have a claw machine. If you like sanrio you will love this place. Cashier was friendly and super helpful! They don't charge for their reusable bags which was a nice surprise.

We discovered the Teso Life store in Las Vegas and loved it so much we tried searching for it in LA. We apparently don't have one but this Ebisu Life store came up and is pretty much the same thing. All the fun crane machine games, ice creams, snacks, candies, drinks, blind bags and boxes, personal care items, cosmetics, home goods, all of the things! So much fun to explore and loved everything we got! Will definitely be going back to try more things

When people ask why I go to Japan every year, I always say, "It's for the Japanese beauty and lifestyle shops--so I can stock up for a whole year and bring everything back to the States!" Now there's Ebisu, near my home and Disneyland. Same type of store, but bigger, with way more options--honestly, it feels like combining several online shops into one massive in-person experience. From gachapon machines, blind boxes, figurines, snacks, stationery, everyday essentials, beauty products, frozen foods, to Asia-exclusive goodies--you name it, they have it. My kid went absolutely wild over the kids' toothbrushes and cartoon bandages. The sale section was incredible too--limited-edition Kit Kats for just $4! No wonder the grand opening had such long lines. Spend $90 and you get a giant plushie. Truly unforgettable. IG: socalhkfoodies

I first saw this place online and thought it was just a small shop... but when I arrived, I realized it's actually a huge supermarket! It has a household goods section, an open-shelf cosmetics area, food aisles, a frozen section, stationery, toys, and even a gaming area! I'm so glad I found this hidden gem Most of the products are Japanese brands--either well-known or very trendy--and the prices are very reasonable. Some items are even cheaper than what I've seen online, and you still get the fun of in-store shopping. Also, don't miss the items displayed near the checkout counter! Many of them are on promotion--BOGO deals, half-off items, and other specials. Definitely worth checking out! I think this will be one of my regular shopping spots from now on!

I'll be honest, when I saw videos of this place popping up I thought this was just another trend passing through. If you've ever been to Japan you know how exciting it can be to visit a store like Don Quixote or Sun Drugstores because they have a plethora of items that just feel like they're done so well. I never thought I would find something similar to that in the states but here I sit corrected with Ebisu Life Store. First Impression Firstly, let's get my first impression out of the way: I was vastly underselling this place from just aesthetics. Looking from the exterior this place looks like it's a cover up for a business that probably went bankrupt in a shopping plaza that's seen better days. Your assumptions to the same state on the inside as the outside would be warranted, but walking in you see there's a lot of effort put in. The space isn't large but they do a good job of making the space attractive. There are brightly colored walls to match the brightly colored lights above. Things do look a little empty here and there, like they're just getting started with this business and that's because they are. They're still in their soft opening phase. Once they fully stock and round out the space in their grand opening I'm sure the space will look more balanced. Products - More like Japan Than Expected Their product selection was much closer to what you'd find in Japan than almost anywhere else I've been in the states. As someone who only came back from Japan just three weeks ago I was surprised to see some products I never expected to see arrive to the US. Their focus seems to be on the gatcha games, crane games, and figurines. They have a vast array of them covering 1/2 of the walls in the store. The prices are decent for the figures although the claw games feel a bit too pricey for the prizes you can win. Their selection of snacks is pretty exceptional. Even with a small size for their store there was a wide arrangement of different types of Lays you would only see in Asia, Cup Noodles you normally don't see in the states, and multiple types of melon soda that was worth diving into. Their bath and home stuff was pretty great too. Though not as vast as a Don Quixote store in Japan they had some products that are normally Japan exclusive such as soaps and bath supplies. One wall, closest to the cashier, is also lined with cosmetics and skincare you'd find in Japan. Again, not as varied as in Japan but still a refreshing selection compared to other stores. Another thing I liked was their ice cream section where they have the viral fruit ice cream from Asia that are shaped like the fruit flavor they represent. They even have some that are discounted as they are slightly damaged when it comes to aesthetics. Conclusion All in all, I enjoyed my time spent perusing the aisles for Ebisu Life Store. I spent more time than I expected and even left with items even though I wasn't planning on shopping. I look forward to seeing what they look like once they're fully operational and shopping here once more.

I decided that I need to check this place out and it did not disappoint at all. This Japanese convenience store has so many things you will like. You have food & snacks, a game zone, toiletries, clothes, toys and blind boxes and many more. I just love how well lit, nice, clean and organized the store is. I got a few Pokémon blind boxes and love them!!! A perfect store for gifting that's for sure!

What a cute store!! They truly have a variety of products...from Sanrio products, specialty toys, Japanese-flavored snacks, candy, drinks. There is a good selection of beauty products and even adult products (very discreet packaging). You'll have a hard time choosing just a few things. They also have claw machines near the entrance. Definitely coming back!

I saw that Ebisu opened in Anaheim so I stopped by in the evening and it was packed! The new store location feels a lot bigger than the other location, so I enjoyed exploring the new additions- the arcade, sanrio / hello kitty wall, more snacks & bigger beauty section. I think the blind box section is slightly smaller than the other location, but still has a lot of options! They had a lot of deals ongoing so I got to pick up snacks & beauty products at a really good rate. Highly recommend checking their beauty section- there was some very good quality shampoo and skin care.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to learn tufting for the first time!! For those new to tufting,…read moretufting is essentially a texture manufacturing process where you insert yarn into a base fabric to create rugs. The lesson first starts off with choosing a simple base design. Our instructor specifically recommended a design with simple lines and colors to make it easier for our first ever rug, which was around $70. Using a projector, you will trace your image onto the fabric as a template for the rest for your work. Before starting with tufting, we then moved onto a mini tutorial on the ins and outs of using a tufting gun, from yarn insertion to how to create straight versus curved lines. Keep in mind you have to put a lot of pressure on the canvas to ensure that your yarn is being threaded correctly. Going through several practice sessions definitely made the transition to the entire tufting process easier. Starting our rug, we soon recognized how difficult and time consuming the rug tufting process was. Even simple design like ours (a cartoon dog) was a long lengthy process than anticipated and we ended up spending 3-4 hours for completion for one of the smaller size rugs. We were recommended to start from the inside out and using one color at a time, inserting lines of yearn about a fingers width to ensure completion of our rug. Though we initially struggled with creating finer lines, we eventually got the hang of it and were able to successfully complete our rug. Our instructor transitioned us into the final process, teaching us how to trim our rug and prepare it to take home. Personally based on the instructor teaching and supplies available, this class was well worth its price point. Overall, I would say tufting is an impressive skill that I learned for the first time and hope to come again to create more designs!

I've been going to Wondercon for years, taking a few hiatus years off due to child rearing…read morelogistics. Now, my son's been to LA Comic Con, San Diego Comic Con and Anaheim Wonder Con.... This is his favorite convention between the 3. He's not into comic books per se, he's not into TCG's Trading Card Games and "Gaming", he's not into Cosplay ('tho doesn't mind dressing up or people watching), he's not into Artist's Alley nor Celebrities, and generally likes Lego, some video games and Star Wars. So for children 7-14, this is a good convention for many interests. The Lego they have here is primarily 2 main vendors and a few smaller ones who sell unlicensed brick (Lego styled designer imposter) "Mini-Figures" that has many characters that Lego never built, so are "custom" probably mass produced in China, accessible probably at Alibaba or Temu for cheap in bulk. They're usually $5 each or 5 for $20 at Wondercon. The Star Wars stuff is sparce, and they used to have a vendor who sold high end inspired (not licensed) Light Sabers. This convention has a really good representation of vintage to modern comic book back-issues in a focused area of the convention hall. If you collect comics this is equal in many ways to SDCC. The "Artists Alley" pales in comparison to what their creator area used to be with top names of writers, penciling artists and inker artists who appeared representing Marvel, DC and Indie (Dark Horse, Image, etc.) comic publishers who were top named talent. These days they have maybe a half dozen to dozen at best recognizable (mainly local talent) major names. This year (2026) there was Ron Lim, Don Ho, Jimmy Cheung, Norm Rapmund, Joel Gomez, David Mack and a few others. So, the comic book creator guest list continues to shrink (although this year Wondercon competed the same weekend as the C2E2 show, Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. Parking was $25 on-site, but there's FREE parking about 0.5 to a 1.5 miles away walking distance in residential areas. Overall the show has become more of a "Pop Culture Expo" than a comic book convention, lacking presence by any of the big publishers with corporate booths (again, maybe C2E2 is a bigger show than Wondercon and that's where everyone went in '26). I see rooms of improvement revolving around revisiting the glory days of yore, and looking back at what once made Wondercon the 2nd biggest show on the West Coast behind San Diego Comic Con (and this is a SDCC sister show too, by the same organizers). As many have noted in the past decade, Wondercon was a better show when it was held in San Francisco. It's still a good show worth attending no matter what.

Run by the same folks at Comic Con, Wondercon is about a third of the size of Comic Con, but still…read moreso WONDERFUL AND FUN! I've been attending for over 15 years, and its always great!
