Summer 2024 (updated review): Still my favorite place and always satisfied! Decided to splurge with 4th of July nail art and am so pleased with the results. Not fake nails and no stickers, they did a fabulous gel manicure all by hand. They have some holiday options available to give you inspiration and you can modify to your liking. Summer 2023: My go to place, right by Knotts Berry Farm off Grand and Lincoln. They have always been able to squeeze me in same day, but please call ahead to make an appointment. Super friendly and great prices. (As of summer 2023, regular manicure is $15 and regular pedicure is $25). Pedicures happen in a massage chair that get my knots way better than my own massage chair at home. Highly recommend visiting!! read more

I've been going to Royal nails for about 8 years and was bummed when I showed up one day and realized that the owner, Jimmy had sold it. I stuck with it 2 more times and because of the change, I felt like I should maybe move on to. It wasn't the service, it wasn't the results....maybe it was just the change overall and all of the familiar faces that I was used to seeing. I went to a good 5-6 spots, and felt rushed at almost all of them. I also get ingrown toe nails easily and never felt like those were cared for properly. Long story short, I decided to go back to Royal nails today and had a great experience. My royal Mani/Padi felt just like its name; royal. It wasn't rushed, the massage and treatments were heaven, my ingrown toenails are gone and my hand and feet look beautiful. Although it's not the old Royal nails we were used to, I def. I was a bit taken back when I called to make an appointment 2 weeks ago and asked for Amy (as I always have for the past 3 years) only to find out she no longer worked there. When I asked for Lynn, they told me she no longer works there either. Story short, Jimmy, Lynn, and Amy are no longer there. In fact none of the women that were there work there. It's all new staff with a new owner. Owner is super sweet, but everyone struggles to communicate due to the language barrier. I asked for a gel manicure as I have been growing out my natural nails for about 6 months now and Amy just knew how I liked them shaped (almond). The woman I got did not even attempt to shape them how I walked in and I was not happy. So today I thought, let me just give them another try, so I walked in for a gel pedicure and a regular manicure and the woman working on my nails insisted on me getting gel and I kept telling her no. She asked me if I wanted her to cut my nails and I said just a little bit, very little cut. Well while I was looking at colors, she cut more than half my nail off (the ones I've been working so hard at keeping long). I almost wanted to cry but im not the type to make a scene but I should have been more vocal because that was not what I wanted and she needed to understand that. I left very disappointed with the shape, length, and color. I immediately took off the polish on my hands when I got home and shaped them myself. I could have saved myself $30. I genuinely dont think I will be returning. I'll do my research and find another nail salon. read more

HERES AN UPDATE! :) Truly continue to come here for my gel pedicures or manicures. They are very clean when it comes to their equipment or establishment itself. The staff are super welcoming and always try their best to squeeze you in! Please always call for booking before coming in because chances are it's currently full. My go to nail spot but I only get my nails and pedicure done by Amy! Their prices for gel manicure is $30 and gel pedicure is $35! I got blush nails and they were $45 total with tip my total came out to $60! I love how attentive Amy is to detail and she tried her best to achieve the nail design I wanted so I appreciate her! This is such a hidden gem! The staff was so friendly and welcoming for my first time there. The lady who did my nails (I didn't catch her name unfortunately) did an AMAZING job. I requested a full set with a red cat eye design and she did not disappoint!! She said it was her first time trying it on a client and even offered to try one nail first to see if I liked the outcome. They turned out beautifully! The price was super affordable as well. Let me start by saying, I have always had naturally strong, thick, healthy nails, so I don't ever get acrylics or gel to keep them strong. However, I hit my hand into a wall by accident last week and my thumbnail cracked super low. It was to the point where any second and it would rip off with a good chunk of my skin, which would obviously be painful. I stopped by this salon today after working out at the gym two doors down from here, and the man at the door offered me cheap nail glue, because I wouldn't get a full gel set. I explained I only wanted my ONE broken nail bonded or repaired, but he insisted I'd have to get a full gel manicure or take the cheap glue and hope it worked. I mentioned being willing to pay if they could help add maybe one coat of a builder gel to hold it until it grows out and he said no. Full set or cheap nail glue. Needless to say, I left without the repair, and I won't be coming back. Very disappointed in the lack of service here. Thank goodness there's another salon just down the street that was willing to do the repair just a few minutes before closing AND they weren't going to charge me for the repair at all. I came in for my appointment on a weekday afternoon and it was great. I was the first until people who were coming from work were trickling in. I had gone in today as a walk in without any problem having to wait but as soon as I was taken in I had already had problems with one employee. She tried getting me to do a full set of acrylics when I specifically told her no multiple times. After she finally accepted my answer it was going fine. Then once she started to do my pedicure she started to rush it. Mind you it was only me and 2 others in the salon at the time. the whole thing felt rushed and half-assed. I was respectful and quiet the whole time. once she was done with my nails I just wanted to pay and leave since I had other errands that needed to be done for my grandma. It wasn't until later in the day that I felt a piece of the gel nail polish poke me. So I decided to check what it was and that's when I noticed that a few of my nails weren't fully painted. There is little air bubbles in the polish, the second coat of polish was only one a few nails, there was polish on the skin of my toes, and the piece that was poking me had come off and it was still wet under the top layer. I've never had a problem with this salon before today. Unfortunately I will not be returning because it felt very hostile with how the employee was. read more

So I've been here twice. First time- gel peeled off in 4 days Thought I'd give it a second try with another technician... I had told the guy Jimmy what happened last time and he said to just call or let him know if I have issues the next time. Second time- I had bubbles on my nails and she didn't scrub my feet. My cuticles weren't trimmed properly and nail shape was inconsistent. Went back the next day to show Jimmy.. He said it was minor and I have to pay extra for callus remover. My nails actually look just as good if not better then the picture I showed Lynn. Her work is amazing! I went in after getting a horrible gel manicure done somewhere else and couldn't stand to even look at it but after my appointment I can't stop smiling and admiring my nails. For starters she soaked the gel not just go in crazy with the nail drill. She removed everything by hand and with out hurting me. She then started her magic on my new ombré coffin nails. Although I originally enjoyed this place the first 5 or 6 times, I will not be returning. Came in for fill and pedicure. Pedicure went good but the lady that did my nails did a horrible job. She filed so close to my cuticles that as soon as she was done it looked as if I had been biting my cuticles. Not only that, she did not put the acrylic and polish down close enough to my cuticles. I told her I was unhappy so she removed the polish (gel) and repainted them the exact same way. A whole 30 mins extra wasted. Got my nails done Friday and it's now Wednesday and it looks like I need a fill AGAIN. I'm so frustrated. Hopefully I can find a good consistent nail shop soon. read more

First time here today. I called ahead and got a spot. $20 gel nails $15 spa pedicure. They do a good job here and service is nice ... They provide bottled water or hot/cold drinks. The nail techs speak pretty good english. A few things I'm not happy about is the shape of my nails (too round, i wanted more almond like), the fact that my gel nails are not very shiny/glossy, and they are lumpy at the tips. I think the place I normally go to always puts 2 coats of top coat. But here they just do 1. So it doesnt shine very much. Also its lumpy on the tips...this kind of annoys me. But not as much as the fact that my nails are not glossy looking. Neither of my hand or foot massage was good. Parking in their lot was pretty awful...it was full on their side and the pavement was very rocky...very unkept. I was afraid it would hurt my car tires with so much debris. Oh and just a note that my pedicure was better than my gel nails. So I will definitely be back for more pedicures! Ps- I just noticed my nails are attracting alot of stains :( read more
