One of my worst experiences getting my eyebrows waxed. This is my second time getting waxed at this place. The first time they burned my forehead that was back in February. I came back to this place because I usually get my eyebrows threaded here, but waxing is faster. I got my eyebrows done Saturday the 11th of April Today is Monday the 13th and this is how my eyebrows look. I told the lady doing my eyebrows that my eyebrows burn she said your face is just sensitive and proceeded to put some wet stuff on my face. I told her last time I also got burned. I havent had lash extensions done in over 5 years but ive never been happier with a lash service in all my life as I have with Loan at Artistry Nail! Lashes tend to be too heavy for me or may look nice with my eyes closed, but dont compliment my eye shape when opened, but Loan did amazing work. Love the work but the pricing is not consistent and I do feel scammed as other reviews have mentioned. I got a almond shape acrylic full set with NO gel polish, no gel color at all. Just acrylic with no nail polish on top because I liked the acrylic color. I was shocked when it was $57 without tip. The pricing board says $32- plus $10 with gel color, so I expected to spend $42 MAX, even though I got no gel color, so really should have been $32??? So I don't know why it was $57 but I was with my best friend and didn't feel like arguing so I paid the expensive price. What confuses me is I came here last month and for the same acrylic full set almond shape, with a old acrylics on so I got a removal, AND added a French tip design for only $45!!! I went to this place on February 10th, 2022, to have my nails and pedicure done for the first time in this place, Went I got there, they asked me if I wanted gel nails on my feet, and I said no, then they started talking Vietnamese, and they all looked at me, and I asked them what was going on, and they said, oh no, nothing which that was rude because I knew they were talking about me anyways I told the ladies who did my nail that I wanted acrylic nails and when she finished it my nails were so ticked n lumpy so I told the ladies who was doing my nails to fix it and she did, but she started talking Vietnam, and the rest started talking back, and I told the owner about that and he kind of ignored me, so one lady was doing my hand and the other one my pedicures at the some time so after they finish I left the place right so then on March 18th last Friday my big toe nail broke in a square kind of shape a piece, out of nothing but it Didnt hurt at all so I removed my suck and saw a big part of my nail broken and saw my skin inside my toe, so I tried to cut the other half of my nail to tried to make my nail look even but when I was cutting I noticed that I Didnt have no pain at all so that's when I realize that I got fungus, in my toenail, I couldn't believe it, because I never in my life had fungus in to toenails or feet or hands, so I took pictures, and I went to this nail place the next day in the morning to talk to the owner about my issue, so the owner was there working so I told him I had to speak to you so when I told him that I had fungus, his respond was that his not responsible because it's was over passing the 2 week from the day I did my pedicure, and I told him I did not know I had fungus until last night when my nail broke , so he did not even say I'm sorry at all he just kept saying, I'm not responsible that maybe I went somewhere else, so I told him I already knew you were going to deny it, so he said to me, so why you come here then? if you Already know the answer, so I want to let you guys know for you to be careful with this place because they Don't disinfect the tools they use to work; it looks like they don't care about hygiene. (THIS IS THE WIFE) So we went and had an appointment, but please tell me why we ended up waiting about a good hour before we were tended too! I know alot of nail shops this happens too as they take walk ins and all that great stuff! The lady who worked on me was great, she was quick and did the job! But please note when people make appointments, it sucks when we have to wait longer then expected! My nails turned out great and the prices are pretty okay. First of all, I USED to like this place due to the convenience of being closer to home vs. my favorite place and they usually also did a decent job with acrylics. Their pedicures were always "meh"... anyway, the last time I visited this spot was to take my 12 yo daughter for her 6th grade graduation (she's been getting acrylics for over a year at this point, so please do not think it's due to her ignorance with the "full set" process that caused this horrible and embarrassing experience). So, we decided on a colored powder for her acrylics even though it was recommended to us by Tim to do gel instead BUT ONLY DUE TO A BETTER CHOICE OF COLORS. When we couldn't find the color she wanted, but found one in the colored powder, we decided to go for that and all was fine--no disclaimer that parts of color would be missing due to the nature of the product. So moving on, the lady was almost done and had asked us if all looked OK... I repeat, SHE ASKED US IF ALL LOOKED OK/GOOD. I told her that some of the nails are missing color on the sides and needed a little more powder due to her filing it away... but I don't think she undestood what I was trying to say and seemed frustrated that I was asking for more powder on all of the nails, all over the nail. Any experienced nail tech would know how to dip just a little bit to cover up the missing sides, but she didn't understand so that's where TIM (I think the owner) comes in the picture and starts huffing and puffing super loudly and embarrassingly about that is why he recommended the gel vs. the colored powder, which was NOT TRUE, REMEMBER HE SAID IT'S DUE TO THE VARIETY OF COLORS! HE WENT ON TO YELL AT ME SAYING I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT AND HOW LONG HE'S BEEN DOING NAILS AND HOW HE'S THE PROFESSIONAL. WELL, I'VE BEEN GETTING COLORED POWDER FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW AND I KNOW THAT PARTS OF THE NAIL SHOULD NOT BE MISSING COLORS DUE TO THE CONTRASTING HUE. He claimed I never noticed in the past because I always got lighter hues which is NOT TRUE AT ALL. Before it even got to this point, I asked him to stop yelling and lower his voice... whatever happened to, if not, the customer is always right, but even measily "good"customer service? He immediately told the nail tech to stop with the powder and if I wanted, then they'd do a gel color over it for us. But there wasn't a color even close to what we wanted! So, I just asked for the lady to finish up and we'd leave. And the grand total for all services for one person? $80... I knew going in how much it'd be and I am always fine with the total, and I even over tip the techs because I appreciate GOOD WORK... or even because it's hard to even find decent nail techs sometimes! What I think is the most hilarious is that when I gave them a hundred dollar bill to pay my bill (CASH ONLY, NO OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT HERE, GEE... I WONDER WHY MAYBE THE IRS SHOULD PAY THEM A LITTLE VISIT), her change to me was two 5's and one 10 dollar bill. LIKE AFTER ALL THAT SHE EXPECTS MY USUAL $15 tip for acrylics??? I took my mom here to do her nails because I always get them done here and they do them beautifully, but unfortunately it was only one worker who was acting rudely towards my mom. She was rolling her eyes at her, doing her nails roughly to the point where she was hurting her. she did her nails poorly, the color wasn't filled in properly, the color my mom picked for her nails was not used but instead a color the lady chose. Three of her nails ended up falling off 3-5 days prior to getting her nails done. My mom is mexican and does not know how to properly speak english so i'm not sure if the lady doing her nails was being racist or just plain out taking advantage of my mother. The lady that did my nails had no idea how to do a coffin shape even though she used coffin shape tips. She ended up getting help from the younger girl next to her. First time here today. I haven't had my nails done in a while, and wanted to treat myself tonight. My nails came out okay, no complaints there. But the customer service? TERRIBLE. I got a mani pedi and was indecisive about the color, which I could tell really irritated the lady that did my mani. I'm not exaggerating when I say everything I did annoyed her, and she had no problem showing it. When I asked for my nails a little shorter, she said "hmph", implying she disapproved. When I last second decided to go with gel instead of regular polish, she turned red and began to buff my nails roughly and started speaking in Vietnamese to the other ladies. Two times It felt as if she cut me and I instinctively pulled my hand back and she became furious. She told me to stop looking and stop moving. Then she went on and on in angry Vietnamese to the other ladies. It was clear to me she was complaining about me basically the entire time. To top it off when I left, I was parked directly outside of the salon, I got in my car and looked up and she was making motions to the other ladies pulling her finger/ hand back, making exasperated motions. So I've been going to this place for a few years now and I do like their work. However I have to complain about how they don't care if they're hurting you with their drill bits, cuticle cutters, and tearing out skin in between your big toe nails making it sting and sometimes bleed. Then one of the employees was super rude. I asked if I could have a matte top coat done and she said, "You can't do that." Then I asked her why and she proceeded to tell me that it costs $5. I corrected her and said that the sign says $3. I understand that was a $2 difference but not everyone can afford the made up price. So as of right now I'll give 2 stars because they took me on short notice & the nail tech was very friendly. I obviously got pressured into spending but I was treating myself so I got the cat eye style nails. I loved them at first but my nail literally chipped less than 24 hours later. When I left something looked a little off . Also, the tech was rushing because she was literally the only person there and there was someone waiting for a manicure after me . My right hand still looks great but the first pic is my left hand and the polish is almost completely off at this point.
