I am extremely impressed by Kathy and her work! Before I started seeing Kathy to have my nails done, I used to do them myself because I was very unhappy with the lack of detail and care that many nail technicians put into their work. The issue with doing my own nails, however, is that it's extremely time consuming and when using normal polish I have to touch them up weekly and repaint them every two weeks. I finally decided that I wanted to try CND shellac due to its long wear and purported minimal damage, but since I couldn't get the CND system and supplies for home use, I found Kathy through CND's website, cross checked her with Yelp, and gave her a call. From my very first appointment Kathy has done an impeccable job on my nails. I always have French tips applied to my natural nails using shellac (also largely referred to as gel), and only have to come in once every four weeks! My polish never chips, and the shellac works as a protective layer, strengthening my nails, so my nails never chip anymore either! I used to be extremely weary of thought of applying gel to my nails due to fear of damage but after three applications of shellac over the past twelve weeks my nails have not shown any damage. Not only is Kathy's work extremely long lasting, but she is very sanitary, and is extremely knowledgable in the field. I managed to rip one of my nails between manicures and did not want to have to cut it off because then I would have to cut all of my nails to even out the length, so I texted Kathy for an appointment to have it repaired. Kathy explained to me very clearly that she was applying a mixture of acrylic just over the ripped portion of my nail, without filing the nail bed down. She stated that with her method, once the repaired portion of my nail grew back out, the rest of my nail would still look even and wouldn't be burdened or damaged by what an application of full acrylic would do. Once Kathy repaired my nail she redid my polish and it hasn't been an issue since (this was two weeks ago btw)! Oh, and you also can't tell it was even patched up, her work is flawless! Since I started seeing Kathy to have my nails polished I haven't even contemplated doing them myself again. The shellac is amazingly long wearing with a beautiful everlasting shine and the care she puts into her work is what makes me so happy to come back each time. I absolutely love Kathy and I would recommend her to anyone. She really believes in maintaining the natural integrity and health of your nails. The last time I was there her previous customer was leaving and showed me the design on her nails, but I was more stricken by how beautiful the length and shape of her nails were! Before she started seeing Kathy she used to use acrylic nails but Kathy helped her transition away from them and her natural nails were gorgeous! In addition to being a knowledgable, skillful, and attentive nail technician, Kathy is also very sweet and lovely to talk to. I always leave her salon feeling so happy, just seeing her always brightens my day. Another plus that I love about her is that she has an extensive list of complementary drinks and after my first appointment with her she gave me a card with her cellphone number so I can text her to make appointments which is so convenient! In the end I definitely recommend Kathy! She's absolutely amazing in all aspects of her work! read more
