After YEARS of getting nail services done here, it's only right I make a review. This salon gets 5/5 stars every time I come. I send friends here, recommend them to whoever asks about my set, and always brag about each tech I get. Usually I'm calling in randomly and last minute asking to come in, so I'm never picky with the techs and they're always able to get me in every time right away. They save my nails and me 10x over and they don't even know it!! They offer complimentary drinks and are always so friendly. I've gotten dozens of long gelx sets here over the years and can say I've rarely ever broken a nail or gotten cut. The gel is always perfectly cured and my designs are PERFECT. Every tech who does my nails envisions my ideas to a T. And it means a lot because my designs are usually not easy to do. With that being said, the price is always reasonable and always around what I'm expecting to spend. There's never any blindsiding or miscommunication when it comes time to pay. And the lil discount for paying in cash always adds the cherry on top. My sets last over a month so I'm coming in like clockwork every 4-5 weeks without miss. Out of all the nail salons in my area I've tried to give a chance to, the ones on the corner of my street, ones next to my laundromat, even the ones I see on instagram, my loyalty is with Chrome. I've been coming to this salon for a while, but unfortunately this will likely be my last visit. I showed a photo of pink and purple flowers for my nail design, but the technician painted the flowers white without asking me what color I wanted. When I pointed out that the flowers were supposed to be pink and purple, she appeared frustrated about having to redo them. I apologized for the misunderstanding and explained that I thought the white was just the base color that would be painted over. After that, I felt uncomfortable with how my service was handled. While doing my cuticle work, the technician nicked my skin twice, and toward the end of the service seemed to be digging the cuticle cutter into my fingers more aggressively. I brought the cuts to management's attention before leaving. I also had concerns about the pricing. My total was $122, and I was told I was receiving a $7 discount, bringing the total to $115. However, the salon advertises a cash discount, and when I offered to pay cash, I was told I could not receive the cash discount because I was already receiving the $7 discount from fingers being cut. This was confusing and did not feel transparent. To be fair, I do like how my nails turned out, and I tipped both technicians because I appreciated the work that was done. However, customer service and professionalism are just as important as the final result. I have experienced similar issues here before, and after this visit I don't feel comfortable returning. I've included photos of the cuts on my fingers as well as the finished nails so others can make their own judgment. I've been coming to Chrome Nail Bar for the past 4 years, and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. I recently started going to Ken and wish I had found him sooner! He's done my builder gel, dip powder, and now Gel X; he truly does it all. He's incredibly personable, friendly, and a total perfectionist. In town visiting and working a convention here in Anaheim, and I happen to have a few hours til the next part of my shift...lots of walking to be done at the Anaheim convention center and with a look at my feet I decided mama needs and deserves a pedi! Naturally I hop on Yelp to see what is in the area, and Chrome Nail Bar caught my eye. I call and easy peasy make an appointment and head over. I let the lady at the front desk know I'm here and she has me check in on the iPad. So nice of them to offer you a 15 percent discount if it's your first time in and you check in on Yelp! Chrome nail bar is spacious, with a sleek and clean interior. Happy to note that the bathrooms match this same description, and are clearly well maintained. Ti helped me with my service today. She was very sweet from the get go, showed me a menu of my pedi options and a booklet I could choose from for my gel polish. I let her know I was on a bit of a time constraint but she assured me I would have plenty of time and still my service never felt rushed! Ti was gentle, yet firm when needed, and she gave me a lovely massage. Best of all my feet feel refreshed and my toes are now a lovely shade of lavender, just in time for Easter! She was able to find an appointment for me with less than 4 days notice. Yay! New customers get 15% off their first service. The check-in process was a bit confusing and there was a lack of communication with front desk staff. I walked in and gave my name to the lady sitting at the front. Finally, after waiting almost 25 minutes, I asked to see what was going on, and they told me they didn't know I was here. When I was sitting at the front the whole time. As you enter you're greeted by the front, very professional and clean vibe here. I came in for a Gel Pedi & they took care of me so gently which I can't say for most nail salons. After you check in you're asked to wash your hands before getting started and then asked if you would like a drink! Lots of color options! They have prices listed for what service you're requesting and obviously the more added on the more it'll be but I do think it's affordable and reasonable for the quality. Might i add that i spoke with "a manager" and he tried to resolve the problem and said he was going to call me back to speak with the manager to see if they can help me out. The owner called me to agree and apologize for me getting over charged. Which is sweet and i appreciated but he still said it was worth about $90 (still higher than ive seen in much better areas/locations). He also offered to give me a discount on my next set which is also sweet but seeing as how my nails started breaking after less than 2 weeks I dont think I will be taking him up on the offer. As someone who has been getting nails for a little more than a decade I can't believe nails that cost so much were so horrible in quality and service. I've been a few times and usually love this place. My last visit with one of their techs Cathy was bad. I went in with healthy nails and left with more damage than necessary. I asked for a gel x removal, manicure cleaning and a fresh gel x set to be put on. I visited them and had a different tech 3-4 weeks prior, after a few months of not getting nails, they put on the set that I was getting removed. I loved it. However when it came time to remove it the tech rushed the removal and did not offer any cleaning before she tried to start my new set. I have seen this at other salons before so I knew to ask her to please do the cleaning on my bio nails first. She insisted she does the cleaning after the new set is on. Not sure how it's possible to clean a nail plate when it's under old product that's not fully removed and a new product on top of that. So i asked her to please do it prior to attaching the new set. She also tried to put my polishless nails in the UV curer which made no sense to me. I've never seen that before. She asked me to dip my hands in full acetone bath, did not do the cotton ball and foil method. Then she would buff with the drill. Then back into acetone bath, then back to the drill. It burned and dehydrated my nails pretty bad. She did a very messy job on the cleaning to the point where I had to ask her step by step to fully remove the old set, cut the nails, file off the leftover binder product, clean up the edges and cuticles. She acted annoyed when I asked her questions abt the damage from her removal. She rushed through it and still never removed the product fully. Now I have old binder stuck to my nails that's gotten dirty since I left the salon and now each one of my nails has brown spots and / or nail plate lifting from the nail bed. When I would politely ask her questions about my nails that were getting damaged and her process she ignored my questions and would not make eye contact. She acted very annoyed to be answering my questions, and insisted multiple times that it was totally normal and she even has the same lifting on her own feet. What happened to my nails is not normal or healthy. I've gone to this shop several times and was always happy with their work, as well as many shops for the last 30 years and I have never had damage like this from a removal, not even with home manicure or press ons and glue as an amateur. When I told her the removal filing with the drill burns she continued to file until I had to physically pull my hands away from her. She ignored my concerns. So about midway thru the service I lost trust in her capabilities and customer service, so I asked her to forget the new set and just clean up the damage on my nails, and I will just wear my bio nails out. She left them completely scratched up from the drill, so I asked her to at least buff the nails to smooth them out. She took about 3 seconds per nail, buffing with a hand buffer as quickly as possible so she could rush me out. She did not offer lotion or oil or anything after the fact to rehydrate or take care of the nails. I even had to ask to wash my hands, she was going to send me away with acetone bathed fingers. I happily offered to pay for the removal and any product she might have already used or prepped. I tipped her $20 on a $22 service for her time and left because I did not trust her not to cause further damage. But I did at least pay for her time and tipped 100%. I tried to be as lovely and non confrontational as possible so she did not have reason to complain about my attitude or demeanor.This was simply concern abt her technique, not her character. I did share my experience with the manager the next day and he said he would address it with her and make a note that she and I would not work together in the future. Sloppiest, most damaging nail experience I've ever had. Will not go back for fear that this is acceptable to the shop. read more

They autoclave instruments, clean the chairs after each customer and use new files/pumice every time. I was a walk in and was sat right away. I selected the Deluxe Pedicure with gel polish. Everything was fine until my tech cut my toes with the nail drill. She was being a little bit aggressive and careless with it. It wasn't until she started spraying alcohol on my feet that she noticed I had cuts. She applied pressure and then looked up at me and laughed. "Hahaha ooh sorry it stings, I didn't see" WDYM?? Your whole face is looking at my feet, how do you not realize you're slicing up my toes?? Towards the end of my service she was filing with a regular hand file and continued to shave down my nails until it cuts into my hyponychium, VERY PAINFUL !! Honestly. Terrible. I went in for builder gel with Tina and I don't even know wtf is in my nails. She put tips on and proceeded to put idk probably 8 coats of "hard gel" on and cured about 15 times per hand. At first she was nice which quickly changed once I addressed how big, thick and chunky my nails looked. At one point they were going different directions. And the only solution really was to have them removed. So I did. But I had to wait until the cuts along my cuticles and the cuts on the sidewalls of my nails healed. I had a pedicure with Christine and it was fine...but the polish application was messy and cuticle line flooded. $130 later. No thank you. But I will say I saw other ladies nails being done and they looked so thin and natural. So maybe it's not the salon just the person who botched mine. I then saw they claimed I sent an email including a threat? I would never. Second time getting Gel-x ($60-80) it's been the only gel overlay that didn't mess up my natural nail afterwards! My natural nails were intact and just as strong. Regular pedicure with callous removal set me back $30 I believe they take walk ins since there's tons of staff (even on weekdays) but I've always made appointments ahead of time.
