My daughter and I wanted to buy some candles, but decided to not purchase one thing because the nonexistent customer service. The store wasn't crowded at all, probably because it was a Thursday evening. I gotta keep one in the mail this week too receive a full-size body care item up to $16.95, so I stopped by the store at the Bree Mall. I can't believe I didn't have to purchase anything! Really have been liking the new remodel of the store. I wanted to shout out one of the store's amazing associates - Sharee Armstrong. The first time I walked in she took a few moments to highlight for me the new design concepts of the remodel, where the new items would be and how they were grouped. Additionally, when I lamented the fact that they no longer carried certain accessory items, Sharee said she would locate some and get them to me. In-store pick-up: 2 stars Product availability: 3.5-4 stars Customer Service: 3 stars We have been customers of Bath & Body Works for decades and frequent this location the most, due to location and convenience. For our purchases, we tend to go between choosing products in-store and purchasing items online for store pick-up. Yesterday, I stopped by for my online store pick-up order. Signage at the front of the store notes to "see an associate" for store pick-up, but when I asked a store associate at the front of the store, they said that I would have to wait in (the long) line in order to pick-up my order. Store pick-up is not faster, the only thing is that it ensures that your items are "in stock" before you arrive at the store. There were about 6-7 customers ahead of me and I waited 10+ minutes just to pick up my 2 items, and even then, there is only 1 cashier that could help with store pick-up. The other associate was really kind and tried to see if they can help, even running 2 cashiers (at a time) by themselves, but since I was a store pick-up, they could not help me. If I had chosen the products in the store, and waited in line to checkout, it actually would have been the same amount of time. Customer service was okay, but one really stood out, and it was not even one that helped me directly - because they were "trying" to help and I can see their interactions with the customers, which were great! Bath & Body Works is located next to CPK, and near the Macy's entrance. Overall, shelves are mostly stocked, from what I can see, and it will still be our go-to location. read more

It was my first time buying something at this store. Viviana asked if I had a number on file. I told her I did not. She told me to use my husband's or someone's else's number. I don't know anyone with an account that I could use, apparently this is her go to saying to everyone who doesn't have a number on file. Was that covered in their sales training meeting? She reluctantly signed me up and looked annoyed, sighing out loud and looking disgruntled. When the transaction was done, she never gave me a bag for my three items. I asked for a bag and got another deeply unhappy look. Um, isn't it customary for you to get a bag when you buy something or am I supposed to carry them around the entire mall and through the parking lot with me? She was equally disdainful of my ten year old daughter's purchase as well. My daughter was so proud to use her birthday money towards something special. Too bad the experience was horrible for her. I'm guessing in her spare time she enjoys kicking kittens and screaming at the elderly. What kind of a person is rude to a little girl?! If Viviana can't make an effort to make your experience a positive one then perhaps she should be stocking up the store instead or some other job that doesn't deal with being pleasant to the public. The sales people over at Lush are way more friendly and helpful. They seem to appreciate your business. I would suggest going over there for your beauty needs. read more

I honestly feel bad for the employees who have to deal with her passive-aggressive behavior--especially when it happens right in front of customers. I used to frequent this 'Bath & Body Works,' even prior to the Pandemic before switching to shopping at only Outlets. This location was conveniently located inside Brea Mall....whenever I visited my OC friends, I would stop by if I'm outta hand sanitizers or hand lotions.... When I needed help again, as I was approaching her, she was talking to another worker, while I waited to be noticed I could hear her conversation bad mouthing other workers, it was very unprofessional for her to do. It's your standard Bath & Body Works inside a mall. In this case, the Brea Mall. I went in to sniff all the new candle collections. Christmas is over (how I miss you so, holidays) and Spring is a-coming. This store's got everything new for Spring One in stock for the most part, sans a few missing ones. Shipment is unpredictable like that sometimes. Not their fault. Staff greeted me several times and inquired me if I needed help. Nope! I am just here to browse a bit and pass some time, ladies. But thanks for your trained hospitality. In the end, I redeemed 2 single-wick candles via my loyalty program rewards. One smells like grassy peach, and the other, cinnamon coffee. Interesting. I can't wait to experience the latter at home... While drinking irl coffee, do I dare? When I was at the counter, ready to check out, I overheard another customer trying to return a product she didn't enjoy. The sales associate asked if she would like to exchange for another scent instead. Nice to know this store still do even exchanges, it seems. (Some other stores now refuse to follow this, frankly, simple corporate policy. Avoid those stores.) So yeah. It's your typical BBW. I do not tend to make a lot of purchases when sales are not rolling around. So didn't truly spend money here today. But it doesn't hurt us the consumers to see more locations, every which where, since the more the company provides, the more options we have while out and about in different cities. And as mentioned, since some stores are now just following their own rendition of exchange and refund policy, (meaning they can just refuse on a whim,) it's good to have more locations to choose from. Let me preface by saying that I've been shopping at various B&BW locations for over 20 years. My most recent visit was 2 days ago on 12/2/22 for the candle day event at the Brea Mall location. My rating is based on a few factors. 1. Availability and selection of products - 4 stars. I was able to find most of what I have saved on my shopping list. There was one particular scent I was not able to find even though it was part of the current holiday collection. 2. Customer service on the sales floor - 1 star for the blonde on sales floor. There were quite a few employees around but none greeted me or offered to help me find a product. When I asked a sales associate a simple question, she was snippy with me. Not sure what her problem was. Maybe she was only nice to blondes like her. Who knows? In any case, she needs more customer service training and cultural awareness to treat all people equally. There were also 2 other interactions I initiated with 2 other associates. They were knowledgeable of where particular scents were located throughout the store. 5 stars to them for being helpful. 3. I went in Yesterday to buy some Wallflower refils. They had a sign displayed that read "ALL wallflower fragrance refils $3.95" However they rang up regular price. The cashier refused to honor the advertised price. Said the sign was probably from yesterday and that they will take it down. I tried to explain that you have to honor a price as advertised but she was young and inexperienced so I could see I wasn't going to get anywhere talking to her. Came in today to exchange candles & it's never been a problem before. Today I came in & was told I couldn't exchange a candle even though it was less than half way burned (like a third burned). Yet it says here online: "WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY? We just want you to love it! Return anything, anytime for any reason. 100% Guaranteed. If at any time you're not completely satisfied with the quality of our products, you may return them to any of our Bath & Body Works or White Barn Stores in the US for a full refund, subject to the terms of our Return Policy. " Uhhhhh .. well im clearly not satisfied cause this candles smells like the freshly mowed grass. The Brea location was pleasant to shop at. Lina helped me and was so nice and answered my question about the hand soap sale going on that wasn't advertised in store (you need the app). I will say that this store was fully stocked during the crazy sales that have gone on all week. I was able to find every scent I wanted in hand soaps and hand creams. It's also a little more organized than other Bath and Body Works I've been to. I've never had an issue here and the store smells so good when you walk by that it's hard not to buy something here for your skin or an amazing candle for your house. read more

Not happy with the experience I had tonight. I arrived at the mall at 6:30pm and headed straight to this store for their annual Candle Day. I was told by an employee that the line is closed and to come back tomorrow morning. Mind you I was SUPER pumped because there were only 5-6 people waiting in line. I was disappointed when told to leave as the store closes at 8, but whatever. I figured maybe they wanted to close early I continued to shop throughout the mall and as I was heading to the exit at 7:30pm, I passed the store and see people waiting in line. I'm like what the heck? I see the same employee from earlier and asked her why she told me the line was closed. This Bath & Body Works catches my attention every time I walk by it. The store's lovely scented candles and beauty products draw me in, like a moth to a heavenly scented flame! I love my candles, and this store has an amazing selection! I must admit I need to check the scent of each candle before I pick the perfect one, which can definitely lead to sensory overload. By the time I left the store yesterday, I found gifts for friends and even a small gift for myself. Besides candles, this store is full of lotions, soaps, bath and shower gels, and even a small spa and skin line. I could spend hours checking out all the fun products and fragrances. The customer service is always great at this location. I'm always welcomed by a friendly salesperson as a walk in the door. They are also helpful in answering the tons of questions I usually ask. Alright location. The gal who helped me on the floor, with finding specific Wallflower scents, was super sweet and helpful. However, one of the ladies at the cash registers rushed through my purchase and did not accept my birthday reward, which qualified for one of the items I was purchasing. She barely glanced at my app and automatically stated that my none of my items qualified, without truly checking my reward. Since we were already part-way through the transaction, on a time crunch, and it was such a small purchase, I trusted her and decided to look into my birthday reward at a later time. I found out later on that the same item I was trying to purchase in-store *DID* qualify as I was able to add it to my online cart and apply the reward. It left me feeling a little icky that at this point I would either need to go back to the store or make an online purchase (to maximize on the shipping cost). I am giving three stars because the gal who helped me while I was looking at products helped me a lot and was very kind, but the cashier rushed me. Be careful at this location when trying to use your rewards--be sure that the associate reads the reward to ensure that it is valid. I know there are times that rewards are not valid for certain items, but make sure to have the associate check closely without rushing you. read more

Came in on 7/8/20 for the sale waited in a rather long line on a weekday unfortunately they only had one table with items marked 75% off which was mostly there year round fragrances lotions like cherry blossom, cucumber melon not many options to be honest and not worth the time I took waiting in line. I went in for some candles normally they have those on sale too during the mid year sale last year I got the 3 wick candles for 75% this time there marked 50% ($12.50).
