Free day & so excited to stock up on products. First time at this store, excited to have a bigger store in the area. Usually go to the little Ulta in Target, who has great customer service. Also been to the one near El Segundo where I ended up getting so many fun things because customer service was so great. I was looking for a product, and could hear other shoppers being greeted by staff, offered assistance. In the store for 15-20 min & had to go to the cashier for help. Didn't have my product, which was fine, I can go to another Ulta or purchase Tarte online. After paying out, the lady at the front was so monotone saying "have a nice day" - zero care for customer service. Ultimately wouldn't return because of lack of customer service. Maybe other shoppers got better customer service because they were dressed nicer? Looked like they'd spend more money? I came in with no make up on, to try new things. First time visiting this Ulta location for a haircut w/Imelda. She did a phenomenal job, asked for a shoulder length layered haircut. When I style my own hair at home I usually do a blowout so I wanted that layered look w/volume & she delivered just that! My hair looks so much healthier, hands down the best haircut I ever received. She also styled & did a blowout on my hair so seeing the finished result, I was so happy! She did exactly what I asked for, the length and everything, didn't cut off more than I asked. I had such a great experience today I had to come on and share. My foundation hasn't been matching me and I've tried multiple products that just haven't worked. It's overwhelming to try and find a new foundation and color match. I usually get a quick answer when I ask an advisor and don't feel confident in what I'm buying. Today was different. I went in with my daughter and the first person that asked if I needed help was Robbin. I told her what I was looking for and she immediately jumped in and started helping me. She listened to me and I felt so at ease with her. Here I thought I was going in to spend ~$60 but ended up checking out at ~$300. I had an appointment booked for a weft extension move up in their salon with Isabel. Whoever booked my appointment over the phone had awful communication because apparently Isabel can't do sew in wefts. I had confirmed the appointment and texted Isabel about the service. She canceled on me by text when I arrived and didn't seem to care at all when I went in to ask what had happened. Stopped the new Brea Ulta Beauty to pick up a few items. The store was nice and clean. It wasn't super busy for a Sunday afternoon. No one greeted us, but the employee at the register was friendly. Store looked fully stocked. The AC seemed to be working more towards the front of the store than the back. This location is located in the same plaza as Michael's and Nordies Rack on Imperial Hwy store is kept clean and displays are organized. The testers are clean too, not gunky and old. Side note: never try the testers on your face, swatch on the back side hands and immediately clean off with make-up remover and alcohol. Staff is plenty, typically roaming the store inquiring if help is needed. The middle section features an area for make overs and such. Best place in the entire store in terms of lighting. Most days they have more than one associate on the registers. Today however (12/11/24, 1pm-ish) there was only one gal working the registers. She ended up answering an incoming phone call while several folks were waiting in line to check out. The associate walked away from the register to help whomever it was on the phone, and didn't call got back up. Within 5 minutes that line increased by 3 more ladies and one of the guests at the front of the line voiced her frustration. I decided to walk out of line and put my items back for another day. It was obvious there were going to be irate customers, my timer was running out and tbh didn't want to waste any more time waiting in line. As I walked out, as previously mentioned, there were plenty of staff roaming around checking on the shoppers. It would have been nice if they walked right over to the registers and supported the guests in line instead. It's managements responsibility to understand the lunch time traffic flow, seasonal shoppers and be prepared to have more than one associate on the registers. read more

I came in to claim my birthday gift and had a pretty frustrating experience. The associate helping me asked to see the email for the offer. I politely asked if she could just look up my account using my phone number instead, but she said no and insisted it had to be the email. I've been to multiple Ulta locations before and have never been required to show the actual email. What made it even more frustrating was as my boyfriend and I were leaving, he mentioned that when he claimed his birthday gift a couple months ago, they didn't ask him for an email at all. I normally don't write reviews but I had the worst haircut here last week. I booked for a bob with medium wispy curtain bangs with Ilanka. I showed her my inspo multiple times and kept reiterating that I was looking for my cut to be all one length and to not do short bangs so you may be able to imagine my surprise when we were almost done with the cut and she went back in to add "more layers." She cut the back of my hair so short and left my fronts long -- my left side is literally longer than my right side. Mind you I asked for one length!! She kept reassuring me that it was for texture but I can see my hair is all choppy in the back and about 1-2 inches shorter than my front. She gave me full on bangs too and I seriously started to cry in the chair. I'm so traumatized from this experience and from her gaslighting me saying that this is what I asked for. It is indeed NOT what I asked for AT ALL, this cut is hideous. I've gone to other salons after this and asked if they can fix it but they don't even want to touch it and asked me to grow it out. They also confirmed to me that one side is longer, back is shorter, etc. They couldn't believe a salon did this!! I'm beyond disappointed in my stylist and the outcome. The only thing that helped my bangs was another stylist Alice helping blend my bangs out that day. Never getting my hair done here again I feel so ugly and traumatized lol. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon. I booked an appointment for 12:00 PM and was not seen until 1:30 PM. To make matters worse, I wasn't even seen by the person I originally booked with. After arriving on time, I was left sitting and waiting for 45 minutes before a staff member even acknowledged me. The "manager" was unhelpful and unprofessional instead of resolving the issue, she sent over the stylist I had booked with just to explain all the reasons why she couldn't do my brows. I had an important event that day and specifically scheduled this appointment in advance to be prepared. Because of the excessive wait, I even missed an important phone call. To top it all off, my eyebrows are not laminated at all. The stylist who ended up doing them clearly did not know what she was doing. There is absolutely no visible lamination not even in the slightest. I paid for a service I simply did not receive. This was a complete waste of time and money. First time picking up product at this location. I was in line for over 5 minutes while these two incompetent employees kept looking down working on their inventory/merchandise. No good evening, how may I help you or anything worth defining as customer service, which begs the question: Why are you both working at the front counter? If you're doing inventory and you're too busy to greet or acknowledge a customer then go to the back and wipe that nasty arrogant look off your face.
