Today, around three pm this afternoon , my sister, my mother, and I were shopping at Mac cosmetics at the Brea mall for some basic makeup products for the upcoming school year. Typically shopping for make up can be a bit intimidating for myself because it's a bit of a process to find exactly what you need. The woman in particular that helped me with my foundation, concealer, and pressed powder was named Mariana. She was super helpful very to the point very kind and made me feel very pretty. A trip that I thought was going to take about a half an hour basically just took 10 minutes. read more

The second time, I didn't buy anything...just took in my recyclables for a lipstick and lip gloss! She went out of her way to look for the colors that I asked for plus she got me in and out in about 3 mins, such a sweetheart! Due to covid guidelines the store for once in my life was empty, clean and calm. When you walk up there's a sign and ropes keeping you from walking right in. The sign states no more than 3 ppl in the store. My friend and I walked right in so it was us 2 and the 1 employee working. With the store empty I was able to leisurely look around and select the things I needed and ask questions about any new items. A small line starting building outside so then I felt the pressure to wrap it up in order to let others in and shop. You can't touch or test anything though due to covid guidelines. I've always liked Mac make up just recently. They changed to waterproof eyeliner it's called sick, tat bro gel pencil eyeliner, I was using. MAC TechnaKohl Eye Liner Kajal ~Photogravure, which was great it never flaked,the waterproof eyeliner flakes. If you don't get it all on it once and you try to put some over it it's flakes when you take it off at night with the make up remover it flakes and goes in your eyes. So now I'm gonna give them a bad report for changing the eyeliner they took away the one that I loved, and I have been using for many years now I have to change to someone else that doesn't have the gel pencil. read more

Came In to turn on my empties. I was scared and nervous because it's feel like common knowledge that the artist don't like to exchange them. But thank God that wasn't the case. Amber was really sweet and grabbed my choices. I decided that I was going to be buy a mineralize powder but didn't know what color. So I asked her to match me. Here's where I got grossed out. I've been shopping at this MAC store for years and it's always been an excellent experience. This store has always been very professional and with easygoing, sincere vibes. Also, they never make me feel badly for not being able to make a purchase or just recycling. I'm totally honest though: I just tell them what I need assistance with and off we go! I usually do my research online to help with my questions, kinda like a homework. It makes knowing what I'm lookin for easier to ask about when requiring help. Oftentimes, this store gets extremely busy and the service suffers. Other times they are out of stock on products that they heavily advertise, but nonetheless, the girls know their stuff and can help you with your cosmetic needs. Was in this MAC store a week or so ago, praying and hoping to find a certain product I couldn't find at other MAC stores. Unfortunately, this MAC store was out of stock as well BUT a store associate by the name of Mariana, helped me out so much. She sat me down, talked to me so kindly about skin matching (stuff I really had no idea about), took her absolute time finding the perfect match to my skin with a different product that I feel, personally works much better. She was so kind and patient, clearly knew what she was talking about. Holiday Glam is the best! I walk in about 30 minutes early for my appointment because I know the ladies are busy and this way I can take a look around for some holiday shopping. The Makup artist is super friendly and inviting and I show her an instagram video of the look I'm going for and the products I would like. Two focus features are key for me, my eyebrows and skin. She amazing and makes me feel like a princess. Thank you again ladies for reminding me why I love getting my Makup done with Mac Cosmetics. If it's been a while since you spoiled yourself I highly recommend the Brea Mall Mac, this is my 2nd time and it was perfect. New customers I advise going in with just two specific things you want - remember it's not like before when you spent $50-$75 of product and they would do your makeup, now the appointments are 15 minute increments and complimentary but it's obvious we are going to get at least a few products. Although it is a bit tough getting a salesperson to help you here, the service is fairly good once you receive it. The reason why getting timely service is almost impossible is because everyone is waiting for the same person for help. I try getting to the mall right when it opens if I want to get in and out of the store quickly. Went to MAC today, 12/26/23, to buy eyeshadow. The lady who helped me was awful awful awful. She kept handing me uncleansed lipstick (I had to ask her each time to clean the lipstick). I asked her to help me with putting on eyeshadow and she made me look like a damn clown (no offense to clowns). When she told me to blend the eyeshadow she ran off to check a customer out. I should've walked the hell out, but I really wanted some new makeup. I told myself I could do better with the shadow at home and make it look more appropriate. I bought the shadow, lipstick, and gloss. I ran to find my daughter and asked her about the shadow, she told me I was giving off "Corpse Bride vibes". I thought, "got dayum!" Then she told me, "I feel she threw that crap on you and didn't care." She was right. I returned the shadow and bought my daughter some lipgloss. Long story short, I won't go back there. I would much rather visit Tyler Galleria and wait for the guy who helped me in the past to show up. I spend way too much on makeup at MAC, as much as anyone else who shops there, to walk out looking like I'm ready to be part of a circus show. I'm not a person to return anything, but I've seen Emily, The Corpse Bride, and I wasn't going for that damn look, not today! The worst MAC store I have ever been. There was about 7-8 employees, 4 of them being occupied putting on make up on customers and others just going back and forth (attending customers or at register). They don't take customers as they come in, they just randomly go up to anyone and ask to help. Because I was already waiting by the station of the item I needed, they bypassed me and took a customer that just walked in. Other two employees saw me waiting, but they all went into the back. After waiting 7 minutes by the item that I wanted, someone came to me and I told them I wanted a stick and physically showed her which stick I wanted. She searched and went straight to the register. I paid and left. We walked all the way to Nordstrom (where we parked) got in the car to open the item and realized she gave me the wrong stick. Irritated and hot, I reparked the car and walked back up to MAC. Some other person asked for my assistance, I told her she gave me the wrong stick after I physically pointed at the one I wanted. She looked around and after another 5 minutes, she gave me another. No one smiles. It is very unorganized and I just hated the vibe in there. I usually go into MAC with a goal in mind so i don't walk out having spent every last penny. This occassion was no different. I went in two days ago with the intention of doing the recycling program they do. It's awesome, bring in 6 of anything that's metal, plastic or glass and they'll recycle it and give u a lip gloss, eye shadow or something else i can't remember. I digress, the woman that helped me was friendly and very eager to help me. I realized i dropped a container i was going to recycle and told her i'd be back the next day. The next day i went in with all 6 things and was approached by a different woman and she looked at my stuff and said "we don't recycle these things." i explained to her what had happened the day before and that if they didn't recycle these things then why didn't the woman tell me that. she said to me, "I don't know, and that's not my problem either." needless to say i'll drive somewhere else next time. read more

I don't know if it is just me or some other women have the same problems too??? I tried to use it because it is inexpensive, much cheaper than department or Sephora store cosmetics. after my eyes and lips got red and swollen for 2 weeks from Mac colors, Mac is OUT of my beauty choice forever!!! :( PS. I came in and wanted to get lipstick shades for my skin tones but also really popular ones anywhere from nude pinky colors and dark lipstick colors that are edgy and goth. I asked her what all her recommendations would be and she totally helped me out with matching lipliners and lipsticks. I was so happy with her service. Her name is JULES and she was pretty too. I always trust a make up artist with good make up on and hair done nicely. IF I would've gone to anyone else, I feel like I would've gotten the worst service because most of them expect you to just buy a couple things and know exactly what you want, but I definitely got the perfect help because she was so attentive and knew exactly what to offer me. Even though I live in Rancho Cucamonga, I would definitely drive all the way to Brea just to visit her because I would want her to actually do my whole face next time when I am more time to shop and try out their new stuff. BRITTANY was amazing. She did my makeup for a wedding I was apart of and she had me looking beautiful. What was awesome was that MAC took me in right away (no appointment). I was there when the MAC doors opened and they took me in immediately. Brittany was so helpful and truly made the mac experience wonderful. Mind you, I rarely wear make up. The most I wear is mascara and liquid eyeliner. So to say I was alittle nervous about going to mac is an understatement. However, I knew that If I wanted glam I should go to MAC. I had a great experience at this MAC location. I typically go to the MAC in cerritos, but since I go to school in Fullerton, I go to this MAC on days I'm at school since the Brea Mall is literally up the street. I actually like this MAC better than the Cerritos one. The customer service at the Cerritos location is hit or miss; sometimes the employees are kind of rude and sometimes they are super nice and helpful. I've been to this MAC a couple times now and this past experience was excellent. I was greeted as soon as I came in and immediately asked what I needed help with. Gabby helped me get the products I came in for and after I picked them out, she asked if she could put some blush on me and I was like sure why not? Gabby was super sweet, helpful, and very friendly. I liked that she didn't repeatedly ask me if I wanted to buy more things like some other MAC employees do. I understand they are sales people but sometimes it is a little frustrating when they keep trying to sell you make up that you don't want or need. She asked me if I needed more things and if I wanted certain products and that was fine and not pushy at all. Most important part is that I am happy with my products. MAC is expensive but worth it because the make up is good quality. I only buy my foundation from MAC because the liquid foundation from drug stores never matches my skin and leaves a line on my jaw line which I can't stand!! Daphne (store Manager) is straight out rude. I purchased 2 lipsticks from her during end of November promotion and I clearly said they were Xmas gifts. As planned I gave them to my daughters for Xmas and one lipstick started leaking and made a mess inside her $400 purse. I called to inform Daphne and all I got from her was "oh well our 30 day policy is clear and you are past 30 days". This is so extremely wrong, knowing that the 30 day would expire before I even gave them the gift as I mentioned multiple times I was shopping for Xmas gifts for my girls. Anyhow I do not recommend MAC lipsticks as this is my 3rd defective lipstick (1 was dry & bulky, 2nd was leaking, 3rd had major leaking issues). It's always very nerve wracking to try a new MAC location when one works so well, but if you don't make an appointment over a week in advanced this situation tends to happen! This was my first time at this location and I'm very satisfied with the results. My appointment was at 10am, but I realized the mall is barely open during this time, so the main doors to Macy's may not open till a few minutes after 10, be aware of that if you're on a time crunch. On the phone I was given the option between purchase for product (meaning the MUA may need to step away to help customers) or one where you have the MUA to yourself (this I assume would be more expensive and no product, but I'm not sure). My MUA had to step away when needed, but my makeup turned out great and she gave me exactly what I asked for. read more

DO NOT go this MAC! They have horrible horrible customer service! I finally convinced my grandma to try the foundation (she's used clinique for years) so we made it a girls day and went. So we get there and no one greets us, we're standing there for a good 10 minutes and the store was not that busy, untill one of the workers noticed us. So I tell her about my grandma and ask her what foundation she would recommend for her skin, and she tells my grandma that Mac foundation is not good for her because her skin is so "wrinkly". My jaw just dropped! I could not believe she said that to my grandma. (she does not have many wrinkles). We went to the Mac in nordstroms and found the right foundation for her and looks amazing and loves it. I was not going to write a review about that incident untill today, I stopped by to go an equal exchange. I've come to this store many times.. and can't remember a time I had great service. The combination of limited space and long line makes it feel claustrophobic. The last time I went, I had to wait 10 minutes to even have someone notice I was there. A girl next to me tried flagging an employee down but she straight up ignored her and walked into the back. Once I finally got some help, they didn't seem like they wanted to assist me.
