This pharmacy serves a neighborhood that can't afford costly insurance mistakes or pricing errors. I was told that the Rx was not covered by the supplement carrier. I was forced to pay over $300 for the script that Safeway filled for $31 two days later. While waiting forever, I noticed that almost all pharmacy customers in line encountered hassles of one sort or another at Walgreens Seaside. Not surprised to see this location rated so poorly. Now, Im going to guess that Caroline wears her name tag/badge on her hip under the counter instead of clearly visible because she is some sort of manager. I say this because two other employees seemed to be reporting to her while Caroline "helped" me out. The details of my order are to come to the counter and present my ID for my pickup. I explained to Caroline that it was definitely here because I have received order confirmation for this address while she continuously assured me it was not there. That can't be a satisfactory answer Caroline... turns out guys that my order was there but she was unable to locate it for ten minutes. She hung up on the internal team calling the store about my order being ready and her employee had to present her with a QR code for the order. Just do a little better Caroline, look into it, assure me you'll get to the bottom of this mystery. Walgreen's is a bit different type of pharmacy because it has a small store built around the idea of a pharmacy, instead of a pharmacy built into a store, like you'd find at Target, Walmart, or Safeway Pharmacy. Because of that, I'll give it 3-stars when I would really only give the pharmacy 2-stars. Why? Well, I like shopping there after hours and during their post holiday sales. But recently, I called a bunch of local pharmacies to price check an RX for my dog. It was just 28 tablets of a simple generic antibiotic (that's commonly found) that I was paying cash for. Here's the cost breakdown: Safeway Pharmacy - $96.99 Walgreens Pharmacy - $80.19 Target Pharmacy - $78.59 Walmart Pharmacy - $52.87 Costco Pharmacy - $29.24 So you can see, Walgreens Pharmacy was the 2nd highest quoted price, after Safeway. It was more than 2 times what I paid at Costco and much higher than Walmart Pharmacy would have been. It wouldn't be so bad except I used to work in a pharmacy so I know what those little suckers cost... and it's nowhere near $80. For reference, our old pharmacy in Arizona would charge $38.48 for the RX and I thought THAT was high. So anyway, I'll keep shopping sales and such at Walgreens but I definitely wouldn't use the pharmacy unless I had a flat co-pay insurance or mind paying much more for over-the-counter meds. Came back to say the pharmacy is still trash. I just spent 30 minutes waiting in line and while I was there I witnessed the following: First, a middle-age lady who had a root canal today has been waiting an hour for her prescription to be filled. Second, a dude comes back after dropping off his prescription earlier only for them to tell him that it will be another half hour. Dude walks out and not 30 seconds later does the girl working the counter figure out that she screwed up and his prescription really was ready. She pages him on the intercom but of course he's pissed and already stormed out of the store. Luckily my prescription was ready but that's only because I dropped it off like a week ago. However my husbands prescription wasn't, also sent over a week ago. (Why don't they fill the prescription until you come to pick it up?) When will it be ready? I asked... I am a lung patient with copd-pah uninsured who is dependent on the state bridge access program for covid vaxes. This walgreen was listed as a participant, nope after waiting all week i show up for my appt only to have the pharmacist try to extract 160$ from me and stated "we dont do the bridge access program here ,i know nothing about it" WTF Walgreens? This is a state funded program... do better..educate your pharmacist s at that location and get them to put masks on , this is a pandemic and they are part of the patient health care chain.. This Pharmacy is the worst..Everytime I go there is a line and you wait 25 minutes..Then when you get to the window..and the prescription was called 2 hours in advance..They tell you it is not ready and will be a additional 20 mintue wait.. Simply Ridiculous! Especially when the patient is a 87 yr old man who can not stand for more then 10 minutes..Shameful! You're company can not provide the service to the customers in a timely fashion and hire people who can understand the English language and fill the request of prescriptions.. If I could leave a lower rating than one star I would. This location's pharmacy is so short staffed that you can expect long waits. I last tried to go at night when I figured it would be easier to be seen, it wasn't. The super friendly pharmacist called for a managers help over the phone at 9:15pm since they were the only person working! I finished my shopping, waited for my medication and finally made my way out by 10:00. The couple waiting on the manager was still sitting in the corner 45 min later and the so called manager never showed her face. It's a 24hr shop, why would you only schedule one person to work both the drive through and the inside. This isn't a one time thing either I've seen it on multiple occasions. They shut down their drive-through lines and give no reason. Their parking lot is full of transients, and scum bags and they do not provide any kind of security for their customers. Inside the store was clean. They had everything we wanted. Unfortunately my son had to buy the alcohol because my license was expired (per DMV there was an extension on it, but no paper stating that. DO NOT GOT TO THEIR PHARMACY! We had a horrible experience at this pharmacy on 6/15. We had two sick, very upset kids in the car so tried to use their drive thu. We were 3rd car in line and pulled up to their second lane which was open. The gal looked at us and acknowledged us, so we figured our turn was coming up. With kids screaming, they waited on the 2 cars ahead of us (took forever!). Then when it was our turn they yelled out the window that lane was closed and the man inside shook his head. We pressed the call button and they said that lane was closed. We tried to let them know our child's prescription name and that we would come inside to get it and THEY HUNG UP ON US. There was a cone behind the pillar they could have used to show the lane was closed, but did not. We tried to go inside with the kids and there was a huge line and they wouldn't even acknowledge us. We had to leave because the kids were in such rough shape. We immediately called the pediatrician and pulled all of our prescriptions from them.. we have a lot! Never using them again and will tell our family and friends. Just to note, they had been amazing our first time there, but this particular staff made our hard day so much worse. read more

My insurance does not cover Walgreens 3. I had a new pharmacist call to ask for a transfer 4. Nothing happened. 5. I called Walgreens back and made the request again 6. My new pharmacy called again 7. Nothing happened. Walgreens said they needed the names of the pharmacists to move forward. 8. I called my new pharmacy and they verified that they spoke to Linda. 9. I called Walgreens back and gave them this information. They indicated that they now, that I have GIVEN THEM A NAME, they could do their job. It was 5pm. 10. Linda transferred the prescriptions right before closing time and THEY WERE SO BLURRY THEY COULD NOT BE READ. 11. I called the new pharmacy this morning; they said that they personally reached out to Linda to get readable prescriptions. At 9am. It was currently almost 1pm. Nothing had happened. 12. I called Walgreens back. Linda is not working today. No one knows what is going on. And it all fucking excuses. Explained I have now been off my meds for 5 days and am actively suffering. My heart is palpitating, I am dizzy, I can't stop sweating, I'm anxious, and completely not functioning. I asked them to please stop explaining their "process" to me and to instead please take responsibility for what is clearly a long line of dropped balls and sloppiness and to ensure that this will happen today. I pleaded with them to please help stop my suffering by doing their jobs correctly today. There were more excuses and the lady on the other end of the line ACTUALLY DARED to get defensive. She ordered the product on line on April 1st and today when she asked where the product was and they were clueless. When she told them to cancel, they said they would try to cancel. I think her ordering on the 1st was all part of Walgreen's April Fools joke. Normally she uses CVS on line and is always impressed with how they operate. He just acts miserable all the time & his tone is so rude, condescending & overall, unhappy. But like I said, this location needs TLC. It's filthy all of the time. Maybe it's their own doing or not, but it always makes people feel bettter to come to a well maintained, and cleanly establishment in order to have their needs met. It matters. I scheduled flu vaccines for myself and family (4 total). We arrived 15 minutes before first scheduled time slot and after 40 minutes of waiting, my husband went to see what was taking so long because we were the only ones waiting. He was told it would be another 30 minutes because the vaccines had to be prepared. We canceled and will go elsewhere. This wasn't just a one time thing because last year, we waited well over an hour. The homeless people were camped out just outside the door-not threatening in any way but does not give me good sense of security there.
