My warnings about Costco (in General) is that there are certain brands that may be discontinued in the future. That is a bummer when it happens, but it is just part of Costco. Also, the meat and produce needed to be eaten pretty quickly or it may start to spoil. That is a bit of a problem when you get 5 pounds of grapes! But if I ever get home and realize that I bought something that has a problem, I have always been able to return it with little to no problem. I went by today on Friday 03/27/26 and it appeared to all meat and fish has their expiration date for tomorrow 03/28/26 also sushi...I guess that Friday is a bad day. Then looking for oil and they were moved to the opposite side that I never see them there since I started shopping in the 1990. Wait! What's going on? This isn't Black Friday it's normal Wednesday, right? People lined up to get in the store that won't open for 30 minutes. I don't know for sure but maybe it's time to buy more Costco stock. I am here too, sadly, thinking the store would open at 9:00- they decided to change the hours and didn't tell anyone. Nice to have choices. I won't go into all the choices just to say every-time I go to the store the inventory changes. It's really the fun thing about the place. The optometrist there, Dr. Le, is the best! And the ladies at the optician department are great too. Very sweet and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The hearing aid center is another story. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I first went to make an appointment no one was there, even though it was during office hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I returned after my eye exam, a woman was listening to phone messages, then proceeded to call someone, completely ignoring me standing there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She is black, middle aged, with glasses. (I was told later her name is Vonda.) I was so exasperated that I asked a girl in the pharmacy if she could PLEASE make an appointment for me. She rudely said "NO!" I guess they don't want my business! I'll go to Valley Hearing Center instead. Edited to add: After my unfortunate experience with Vonda, I decided to do some shopping. When the cashier rang my nearly $300 order up, he charged me for only one laundry detergent instead of two. I got to the door and the mumbly guy looking over my receipt pointed that out. (I could hardly understand him. Speak up, dude!) Anyway, he made me go to customer service, where there was a huge line. Now I was really pissed. I yelled at the girl behind the counter who got her boss, Ally. Ally was very nice, took my credit card payment for the detergent, and I was finally on my way. Between the eye exam, glasses and my cart items I had dropped almost $900 in that place. Customer service has really gone downhill since the early days of Costco. So I went to Costco in Sand City because I needed paper towels and left with a 14-pound wheel of Parmesan cheese and a kayak. I live in an apartment. On the second floor. I don't even know how to spell kayak. Costco is not a store--it's a test of willpower wrapped in a warehouse. It's like if Amazon was a theme park... run by a guy who just got divorced and says things like, "You'll thank me when you're older." I tried one of those little food samples and then circled back in a fake mustache to get another. The lady didn't buy it, but she respected the hustle. Also, I saw a man buying 400 AA batteries. I don't know what he's planning, but I respect him and I fear him. Let's talk about the food court. $1.50 for a hot dog and a drink. That's less than a bottle of water at the airport and approximately the same cost as my dignity. I ate two. Maybe three. I blacked out for a bit in front of the churros. They had bulk pants. BULK. PANTS. I didn't know what to do with that information, so I bought some and now I wear cargo shorts emotionally. The lighting inside is so bright, I had a flashback to 7th grade math class and briefly questioned every decision I've ever made. But then I found a crate of Pop-Tarts the size of a Smart car and all was forgiven. Anyway, five stars. Would I go back? Absolutely. Should I be allowed to go back unsupervised? Probably not. This review is for the food court. Amazing prices. I mean $1.50 for a hotdog and a soda?! You can't beat that price. My visit was on 8/19/2023 and they have STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM!!!! Sooo yummy. Just try it. My only complaint about the food court is the lack of organization. On the side of the food court there are several self serve tablets to order as well as the option to order when you are checking out with your cashier. I don't think that should allow ordering at the actual pick up counters, it holds up the line and I can tell the employees are frustrated, however, they still allow it. I will start this missive about my journey trying to submit a home owners claim with a short statement. "DON'T DO IT". [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over a course of three days and six calls to Costco I encountered a large knowlege deficit among the customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It took me seven customer service calls and no one knew how to contact someone to process my claim.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I went to the top and called Seattle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I talked to a customer relations manager and resolved my issues. She was able to find me in the computer system, confirm that I did have home owners insurance and promised communication with an adjuster[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My claim was simple, and not much money but for what I pay I knew I could recover some funds toward the repair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One problem is the insurance company Costco uses has changed their name three times in the last five years. This makes it difficult to find information on the internet, couple that with Costco reps. lack of knowledge and it's a cluster[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My policy renews in September and at this time I will probably move on to another company. In summary I'm frustrated and generally pissed. "DONT DO IT". It's not worth the aggravation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only positive response I got was from the call to Seattle. I received a follow call to see if the info was helpful and re stated the adjuster contact info[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I went to the tire store on the side of the main store hoping to get full service for buying the battery but turns out they only sell batteries to be carried out. That's fine and not a problem, since it's literally their business model that they cannot change. Ordered the battery anyways expecting the battery was the issue for my own car not able to start the last 2 days without a jump. Asked if I could borrow any tools to change myself and they didn't have any. Only that I could go get some inside Costco itself and buy some tools. For a place with tools on the inside and no service from the store, please at least have some tools on loan for other's convenience. Again perhaps it's liability they were worried about. No matter. I drove to o'reilly's after and got tools and changed the battery out myself. When asked the cashier whether they have a cart to wheel out the battery as I came in with a baby in a stroller, he told me to go get a cart. I had hoped that he would help me with wheeling it out to the car with me but it was perhaps too much for him. I ended up getting a cart, put the battery in. Looked at the stroller and the cart and myself, took the stroller apart and put my car seat and stroller into the cart and wheeled it out myself. I was actually proud of my genius solution! Still upbeat and on my way. Decided that I didn't want to carry the core battery in the car for the rest of my new year trip from sacramento to LA and back, I brought back the battery to the store for core refund. The other cashier was friendly but said, "do me a favor and put the battery on the cart on the side." I thought ok this is self service ALL THE WAY HUH?" But guess what, I'm not a baby, sure I'll do it. As I try to lift the battery up from the shopping cart with my finger tips, I heard a SNAP! And my middle finger gave way! I was in shock but I quickly gathered myself and used my pointing finger and got the battery onto the cart it was supposed to go on to. I noticed some battery pick up tool on the cart but had no explanations, and I didn't want to misuse it and drop the battery onto my toes or anything. Got my $15 cash from the cashiers and a numb middle finger... My Middle finger has been numb since the incident and it's 2 days later. I drove through the crazy rain through this trip thinking whether my career is on the line from this incident. Surely hoped they would have at least told me how to use the battery pick up clamp or even just do it themselves! I already wheeled it in with the shopping cart that was their official answer for wheeling batteries in and out of the store. On the bonus, their gas station is 2 blocks away and very confusing to get to. For a non local, I wasted another 20 minutes trying to find it while still in shock over my numb finger... I'm probably more livid because of my injury but come on! do your job and pick up the core yourself! Not going to be Mr nice guy here and get myself hurt next time. read more

This location has a sort of funky layout compared to most newer Costco's. One of the odd things is that the gas station is located across the road from the actual store. The store itself feels smaller than other Costco's in the Bay Area. Because of this, you do not find certain items in as much of a variety, such as furniture or outdoor "toys" like kayaks, beach chairs, etc... which is sort of odd if you think about it because this location is less than a mile from the beach. During the colder season, you'll find a small selection of holiday decorations, and gift baskets, but - again - options are more limited than other stores. For your staple items like eggs, meats, baked goods, this location consistently has those items in stock, but the eggs and dairy are located inside of a walk-in cooler, hidden in the back of the store. Really disappointed with our experience at Costco today. Went in to get some clothes and some olive oil. We went through the normal register where an employee scans everything for you. We got some food, got my wife on our membership then headed to the exit. This is were the exit employee basically accused us of stealing the olive oil. I literally told her that the clerk scanned it and it should be on there, she would not listen and proceeds to yell out some verbiage making it seem as if we were trying to steal this item. We were so embarrassed they my wife just put the oil back at the return counter. We then tried to leave and the employee again asked for our receipt so she could put her little line on it. We walked out and I looked at the receipt and the first item on the receipt is the olive oil. I immediately go back inside and tell her it's right her, at this point I'm upset of her attitude and made sure the other employee were aware of this by stating can I have the oil back that I was accused of stealing and left. Roast chicken craving set in; so, off I go to Costco for a $5 big bird. The French onion soup is delicious, but I could not locate any today. Avoided all the fabulous bakery temptations. Did get salad and a few other goods, but escaped with out endangering my bank account. Adore this shop and live dangerously close by. Costco is a store we shop frequently. I think most people do! Most of the time, you can't beat their prices or their return policy. I've seen people return baked muffins with half gone! And they still take them back as long as you have a receipt or it's on your credit card. It's a one stop shop for the whole family! From diapers to prescriptions, they almost have it all and that's why Costco is so popular. We also use their travel site which gives great bargains for vacation packages. Using the Citibank credit card pays you back enough at the end of the year for that bonus check that ultimately pays for your membership! LOVE Costco!!! read more

I like this Costco. They usually have good deals. And the self check outs are usually open right away. The only thing that does get annoying is them trying to upsell membership. Basically unless you're spending over 500 a month it's not worth it. They hold the cash back rather than where Sam's and BJs give it back to you to use anytime. They also only offer it on the primary card. So if your SO shops and isn't the primary on the account you do t get the cash back. Sam's does it for all. But the store is great and the staff other than upselling are good people. The other plus side is the fuel is the cheapest around including if you can buy on base. read more

Overall Costco is pretty good and I shop there all the time, I'd say that in recent months the food court at this location has gone way downhill with crazy long wait times even when it's not busy. I've always had good experiences at this Costco. It is very similar to most other Costco stores throughout California. There is a gas station but it's across the street. The reason it is across the street is because the city would not let them place it any closer to the store. The gas station is often crowded but there are a lot of pumps so the line moves fast. The pharmacy here stocks a lot of medications but sometimes it can be a bit difficult getting them to work with your insurance company. Overall, I enjoy going to this Costco. read more

This is a review for the tire center at this Costco. The tire center service here is terrible, particularly the manager and the front desk. Manager's name is Jose, and front desk is Ruben. Both are incredibly condescending and rude when working with customers. Went in the first time to get my tires rotated, Ruben was rude, repeating things to me when I didn't hear it well as if I was stupid. I thought that was a fluke, everyone has bad days right? Second time around, was even worse. Came in to replace my tire, was promised that the tire rotation for all wheels were included since I purchased a new Costco tire. Ruben and the manager Jose starts arguing with me over it. After spending $300 here on a new tire, these Costco employees are arguing with me over $30 (tire rotation fee) that was originally promised to be included. Not what I expect from Costco. I'm a huge fan of Costco®, and this is probably my least favorite Costco® I've even been to. Here's a quickie good, bad and ugly: The Good -Large parking lot that wasn't very busy despite it being a holiday (Black Friday™) weekend. -Tire center, optical, Rx, photo & hearing aids. -They did have all three (chicken, beef, veggie) of the Better than Bouillon® stock bases. The Bad -No gas -Poor selection of local gift card deals; the only good one was a $80-for-$100 to Phil's Fish Market™. I was really hoping for an Monterey Bay Aquarium GC but I guess that was being very hopeful. Regardless, the selection still sucked. -It just felt very tiny in general; even smaller than the Almaden Valley Costco®. The Ugly -Food court had very little seating and felt very cramped. -Customer service was well below Costco® standards. Usually employees are fairly nice but the ones I dealt with here just seemed grumpy AF. Overall, it's still a costco with good deals on stuff but, lucky for me, it's not my neighborhood Costco®. read more

Not a bad Costco. Try to get here early if you're making a Costco run on the weekend. The parking lot gets packed but very rarely will you have to park super far to secure a spot.The organization of this Costco is similar to most other ones, except there is no specific section for dairy. You can find it where the freezers are locates (ones that have doors for yogurt, ice cream, juices, etc.). Produce is pretty good, including fruits and vegetables. Avoid the organic corn: it spoils quick. I've never had any hassles making returns. The food court items are solid, but currently you cannot buy the combination pizza. All COVID-19 preventions are implemented. Wear a mask. You can't get in without one. read more

Packed, though, and little food court seating (we were waiting a bit before being seated).
