Welcome to the most expensive dispensary in Monterey county but that's the least of your worries when you shop here: This place isnt a dispensary its basically a clown show that happens to have weed on the shelves. Half the time there isnt even real security, just some employee stuck pretending to be a guard while anyone with quick legs could probably grab something and run out. It honestly feels like a self serve theft buffet. Meanwhile if you go to the Stiiizy in Marina they have two security guards and actually run the place like a real business that cares about customers and safety. Here it just feels sketchy and disorganized and the products look like theyre waiting to get stolen. Customer service is basically nonexistent too. Once you walk out the door youre stuck with whatever garbage they sold you. No exchanges no accountability nothing. They claim they price match but they couldnt even price match their own price which tells you everything you need to know. The Hispanic manager who is usually here in the mornings straight up lied to me and said there were no managers available to fix the price even though there literally was one there. The guy looked high and clearly didnt care. Honestly the whole place just feels shady overpriced and badly run. Ive started only coming by later in the day when that manager isnt around and even then its still not great. Between the lack of security the lies about pricing and the zero customer service this place feels like a total ripoff. If you want a dispensary that actually acts like a business youre better off going somewhere else. read more

Decent selection, kind of pricey. It's always freezing cold inside. Limited selection of packs of pre rolls and inevitably they were out of what we wanted. Found another spot closer to home. read more

I have been a delivery customer for The reef for quite some time. From now on I will go to a different dispensary. The girl that I talked to after they canceled my order for no reason was rude and talked in a high pitched voice without listening to anything that I said. Been buying products for my Multiple Sclerosis for about two years now. One of the vape cartridges I buy had a problem charging. Brought it back with no problems. Then after a MAJOR surgery another one failed. For 3 months I couldn't drive or work as surgery failed and had to be redone. With my MS I can't take the Oxy. Relied on their product that failed. Finally cleared to drive, showed it to the check in dude and he saw some resin on the lip part from me dying and sucking the shit out of it, but the reservoir showed full. He was a total dick and now I'm out the $$ after two $20,000 surgeries. If you are going to sell products that don't work, I'm going to have to find a new store. Pricing is before tax... Don't like that. But that's what some places do. So you are hyped until you hear what the real price is. That's nothing new. It's interesting, this grab and go model. No a lot of engagement... I asked the staff (who I now realize was the manager) about the hybrid gummies because I know that some lean more towards indica or sativa and a got a mansplained answer. He never heard of such. He said it's hybrid. Welp I googled it and I was correct, some do lean towards indica or sativa. Just say you don't know. No one was helpful. It's 7-11 model, help yourself, educate yourself. If you know what you want, all good. If not, ummmm google before you come because they are not helpful, no one seemed to care if I actually made a purchase. I used to be a regular couple of years ago. This place is very different. Lots of product, but lacking the vibe. They need a smaller location. It's too big for their current set up. You want to grab and go, this is your place. I need a little more than that. read more

The killer is that they do not include the taxes in the prices so I got like 40% added on what i thought I would pay. This is a deceptive business practice, especially when they have no customer facing display screens at checkout. The City is too greedy. I went twice in the last week. the first time was awesome and no problems. the second time (last night 7/9) was not so pleasant. me and my buddy were trying to get something from the daily deals and we got 2 pre rolls from a specific brand so we could get two other pre rolls free. when we paid the lady didn't offer the pre rolls so we asked and she said we needed to buy a pack of pre rolls. we thought oops and went to look at the pre rolls, but we noticed the daily deal sign actually said any product and not the pack of pre rolls. so the two ladies working had a 5 min discussion while we waited for one of them and when we asked about it again nicely because of what the sign said, one lady rudely gave us one pre roll. we left, i will not be back. read more

I used to go here but Over the past few years this store has went through several changes and now its the worst its ever been and more expensive. I will no longer shop here anymore until they make it better with selections and prices For the record a top quality pound of indoor is about 1200 dollars. A friend of mine asked me to do a review. They ordered online and for the 3rd time when they went in to get the product that they had reserved online, they didn't have it. Staff was confused about what happened and didn't seem to take any steps to remedy it. My friend picked out something else, without much knowledge from the staff. The prices and quality are pretty decent, the service and website experience leave much to be desired. They will likely choose one of the other half a dozen places next time around. read more

I love how this place is laid out and that you can grab products off the shelf, yourself. My only issue is the pricing. I wish they labeled their items AFTER tax bc you're paying 30% more than you thought you were when it gets rung up. I get cash out according to the price of the items I get, and most of the time I forget their tax is so high that I get the wrong amount out and have to get even more out, paying the fee twice. (yes it's my own bad but i'm used to shelf price being the walk away price) Just remember you pay more than you expect Also, there's one worker who's always high off his mind. I know some people don't mind dispensary workers being high, but i also know some people who want people to be sober when selling them expensive products... do what you will with that information. Every time I order online the prices vary from what it says online I put a deal in for free being .01 cent and it said the rest was tree put 5-6 eights in my cart to show up at the store to be told it's buy 3 for 45$ first Before the deal always misleading and never the same price as promised online. I won't buy from these people again. They mistakenly overcharged me by more than $20 in early February. When we called about the error, they acknowledged the overcharge, and said they'd credit our account. Went back today for another purchase, asked them to apply that previous overcharge to today's bill, and discovered that (1) they had not credited my account, (2) had no record of the arrangement they had promised me, and (3) didn't care. I've spent a good amount of money there in the past, but won't make that mistake again. Hope it was worth $20 to lose all of my future business. read more

Stopped by on the way down to the aquarium, this has now become a regular weekend activity!! Grab some candy, go park down by the ocean and spend the day walking around. The prices here are fire, you can supply up for a great day for like $20-30 with a few joints, some edibles, etc. my favorite are the house pre-rolls, I always grab like 7 or 8. Don't let the price fool you, the Body and Mind prerolls are solid mid tier, the only reason I say "mid" is their THC content is in the low 20s, but I love that, so to me those are perfect quality. Beyond that their selection is great, and overall pricing is as well. Awesome deals. read more

The insecurity, the rudeness, the unnecessary challenging attitude? That was my cashier tonight at The Reef. The experience angered me enough that half an hour later I'm still talking about it and writing reviews. If I could leave a zero star review I would. I've been to this dispensary a total of 3 times, and after my last visit I will NEVER go back. My first 2 visits were pleasant, and the pricing wasn't too bad. I usually don't post reviews about places but my last visit there warranted this review. June 28, 2023 I had just gotten off of work and was wanting to stop by and grab a couple pre-rolls since I was somewhat low on funds. I had $15 on a card and $7 in cash/coins (which I wasn't too proud or thrilled about). I went in and picked out what I wanted and went to the counter to pay. 1st I was told they don't accept Apple Pay (the card I was using I don't have a physical card for) so I went back to my car to transfer the $15 to a different card to try again. Here's where my problem with this place comes in... I went back inside and picked up what I wanted again, and went back to the counter. My total was $18 or $19 and some change after using the 10 points I'd accrued over my last 2 visits (I'll comment on that part in a minute). So I put my $7 in (mostly) coins on the counter and pulled my card out of my wallet. I understand that to pay with a card there's a $3.50 processing fee, that's fine.... But when the guy behind the counter gave me my new total after already giving him $7 I was VERY confused. The guy behind the counter said my new total after giving him the seven dollars in mostly coins, after the $3.50 processing fee was $20. Obviously confused I asked him "what?". He proceeded to tell me about the $3.50 processing fee, which I already knew about... But then told me that they round up to the nearest 10th. Once again, I asked "what?" And he repeated himself. I quickly gathered my change off the counter, put my card back in my wallet, and told him that was ridiculous. My main issue here is the fact that if a company is already charging tax, and a $3.50 processing fee for card transactions, why are they running up to the nearest 10th? What is that money being used for? When I told him, it was ridiculous, he told me "well that's how we do things you're better off paying with cash". I went to a different dispensaries in the area, and told them what it just happened, and they were just as confused and baffled as I was. They couldn't understand why they rounded up to the nearest 10th or with that money was being used for either. And honestly, most people who are paying with a card, probably don't even think about that extra money being charged, but not everyone has a bunch of money that they can play with. Some of us have to pay attention to how much money we have in my opinion this place is just robbing people blind. THEY CLOSE AT 9:45c PRETTY RANDOM TIME... WHY DONT THEY JUST ROUND YP TO THE second nearest 10th and close at 10?! read more

I really think is the 'hippie version' of a cannabis dispensary - my speed. If you're looking for a luxurious experience, there are a few of those in Carmel. The Reef staff actually walk the floor! first and foremost, the reef dispensary is by far one of the best upper echelon marijuana dispensaries in the 831. i've been a reoccurring patient since they've opened and 1 reason for this is because of the staff. Other quality characteristic reasons is that they're Always friendly, helpful, consistent with the knowledge of their products and brands, consistent in customer satisfaction, consistent daily deals/specials/promotions, consistent with variety and value.... The staff is so spectacular that you'd want to buy them pizza for lunch! I would know because I did! :) They're fun to talk to, laugh with, and answer any question you may need answering. They're your friend when you need someone to lean on who'll never let you down. if you're loooking for an epic experience, they will not disappoin.
