My very first time visiting a dispensary. I was here to get a gift for my neighbor who was watching my cats at home while I was on vacation here in Monterey. Was warmly greeted by the very friendly security guard who could tell I was new and broke the ice with a funny joke. I was checked in and the front desk clerk was friendly and explained the whole process to me. It was quick and only took a few minutes to process my drivers license. When cleared, I entered the shop and was immediately greeted and welcomed by staff. The staff was very friendly and guided me through the whole selection and purchase process. The process was very easy and felt at ease for this first time purchaser. The facility was very clean and had a wide range and variety of products to suit everyone's taste or expectation. As a first timer, I highly recommend this location. It is close by The Highway 1 freeway and is easy to locate. There is plenty of parking on site and is easy to enter and exit. They are made out of Olive-oil and Cannabis. I picked up the Sativa and 20:1 for my beach trip today along with the Indica for after work. Higher Level used to be my favorite, now it's like a disappointing food restaurant. After visiting other nearby dispensaries, I can honestly say they're much better, much cheaper, and give much less of that repressed resentful attitude that comes from Higher Level employees. They must be very unhappy. I wish them the best. The assistant manager I met took pride in being rude and uncommunicative. Putting someone like that in management is absurd. And I'm tired of getting hassles at this place, but courteous experiences everywhere else. Any of the other local dispensaries will give you better product and service. Higher level is my favorite dispensary due to the fact they always have good deals & sales

Came in to exchange a concentrate my husband had purchased the night before because it was almost a year old. He made the purchase on Sunday night 12/8/19 came back to the car to look at the product and the packaging was tampered with so he went back to exchange it for one that was not opened. So he comes home with the same product but this was It was manufactured on January 12,2019 and was very much darker than the first one he had bought (the one that was opened) Anyway I just wanted to exchange it for one that wasn't a month from being expired. With concentrates they can loose up to 50% THC when sitting over time. Also the color can darken as this did. I expressed concern to the manager that I wasn't comfortable consuming something that was almost expired and that could possibly have lost half of its THC content and almost all terps. He was very rude and just told me no he wouldn't do it. I explained the situation from the night before he didn't care.. even though he was the manager the night before that exchanged the open concentrate.... I personally work in the Cannabis industry and I just feel completely ripped off. I will definitely not be shopping at this store anymore they don't seem to know much (my husband went in for a crumble and they gave him a live resin he asked are you sure this is crumble and they told him yes, he couldn't tell because they're was no display)or even care about their Patients. read more
