This is not the place for a first time patient and instead before customers who know exactly what they want. Came in to exchange a concentrate my husband had purchased the night before because it was almost a year old. He made the purchase on Sunday night 12/8/19 came back to the car to look at the product and the packaging was tampered with so he went back to exchange it for one that was not opened. So he comes home with the same product but this was It was manufactured on January 12,2019 and was very much darker than the first one he had bought (the one that was opened) Anyway I just wanted to exchange it for one that wasn't a month from being expired. With concentrates they can loose up to 50% THC when sitting over time. Also the color can darken as this did. I expressed concern to the manager that I wasn't comfortable consuming something that was almost expired and that could possibly have lost half of its THC content and almost all terps. He was very rude and just told me no he wouldn't do it. I explained the situation from the night before he didn't care.. even though he was the manager the night before that exchanged the open concentrate.... I personally work in the Cannabis industry and I just feel completely ripped off. I will definitely not be shopping at this store anymore they don't seem to know much (my husband went in for a crumble and they gave him a live resin he asked are you sure this is crumble and they told him yes, he couldn't tell because they're was no display)or even care about their Patients. read more

Came here to grab an eighth and a bong. I didn't notice they didn't put the bowl piece of the bong I purchased in the bag until I got home. (It's a 20+ min drive). Made me come back to the store to get a "piece from a different bong" even though I saw the piece was on it when I bought it. Made me feel like it was my fault when she lost the bowl piece instead of their fault when they were the ones who packaged my order, which was also poorly wrapped with one tiny square of bubble wrap. Could have offered something in return for having to drive back and waste my time on something that was wrong because of them but no. Will not be coming back. read more

Now this is my 5 . First line of defense is their front door. The security. The two times that I've been there I have encountered two different security officers . Out of those two times I only went in the dispensary once because the first time I went I had an expired ID and was not able to enter. And this shows me that they follow all laws, trust me at the time I wasn't too happy about it, but that was totally on me and I had to get over it and I did. My second visit on the same day later that evening with my current ID I encountered a different security officer who was just as nice as the first. Second line of defense when you walk in the door the gentleman behind the window seemed very crabby and not at all inviting not a smile not a welcome not a nothing so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was having a rough day. Third person I encountered was the salesman or herbalist I don't know what you call them. Again I can't believe I don't remember his name. But he was very informative about where it came from the strain what it did he knew his stuff. And he was super eager and willing to share his knowledge with me. They had these amazing prices and deals I think they're everyday. I walked out of there with The Farmers eight 4.0 (was on sale), 10 piece bag of edibles CBD and 1.0 G OF WAX. My total cost was less than I expected to pay I was also given a pre-rolled as a perk because I had spent x amount of dollars I don't remember if that was given a discount on being the first time shopper. The location is pretty Central to be a little confusing to get into the parking lot but you can figure it out. I have been back there several times since but because I can't find my ID my boyfriend goes in for me LOL and always walks out with a great deal. read more

Great business hours - After 9pm on the Monterey Peninsula might as well be 3am so salute to them for staying open late enough for working folks. Budtenders - every single one of them I've talked to has been very friendly, knowledgeable and otherwise excited to be at work. Love them. Security - friendly door guard contracted from local company. It provides a lot nicer image than how the medical dispensary scene used to be, which was like being in a secret medical lab crossed with the Carter from New Jack City. These guys have it dialed in. The only caveat to the enjoyable vibe (for me) is the phone phobia once you arrive inside the sales room. While checking my notes for a previous item I liked, a man resembling Doofy from the Scary Movie franchise and wearing a much oversized hat, swung in from a backroom and barked at me to turn my phone off, before scolding the budtenders about keeping an eye out for this sort of riff raff. I've seen felony arrests play out with less vigor. To Doofy, if you're reading this, it's all good and I understand that there is a very, very good reason for the no phone policy. I am not secretly Jeff Sessions wearing a pothead costume to go do undercover surveillance at dispensaries, and you have nothing to fear from me. This place is awesome! Came here right before closing ( which is really annoying for me to do, I know). And I can't say enough great things about these guys! The cute lady at the counter was awesome and so incredibly nice, we chatted for a bit. I was then let inside and waited in line for a bit but they had several people working so they were able to cycle through quite a few customers before I was helped. I got up to the counter and the gentleman that helped me knew his stuff. I know very little about strains and really anything with cannabis and he helped me and didn't make me feel like an idiot, which is actually really nice because it happens.. I asked for a pretty strong cartridge and he didn't just give me the strongest brand, he told about the different types they have and if it really was what I wanted. He put in the effort and i left really stoked on my trip! I use cannabis for my depression so I never actually LOVE going to a dispensary but they would be my usual spot if I lived here for sure solely based on their customer service. No surprise there. What did surprise me was discovering what I consider to be manipulative if not 'dishonest' pricing around their Sunday offering of a 20% discount on your entire purchase. I had bought a particular vape cartridge recently for Higher Level's 'regular' (weekday) price of $28.50. I liked this product and looked forward to buying two of this item on a recent Sunday (5/1/22). Lo and behold, the 20% discounted price was the same $28.50, rather than 22.80 (i.e., 80% of 28.50). Have been going to this place for multiple years now. Great place, but I don't think I'll be going as much anymore. Their stock has not been exceeding my expectations and lack of assistance and forcing and pressuring to buy more expensive product is not really my thing. Every time I want a sativa thick batter they never have it and if they do, it's not something that is appealing. They're always having a sugar texture, which is not my thing and go through it way too quickly.
