This used to be our go-to cannabis shop. They had great deals, and the staff was friendly. The last time we went, the security guard out front refused to scan my id because he was watching a conflict in the parking lot. He told me to "hang on, I'm going to watch this" and made me stand there while he watched the drama unfold. Two more employees came out, and they all began to talk about what was happening in the parking lot. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for them to scan me in. They are enforcing mandatory masks for their customers, and made a big deal that mine had a vent in it. Upon going inside, their employees had vents in their masks, and some employees had their masks hanging around their neck or under their nose. This used to be our favorite shop, but now we go somewhere that is more professional. read more

This place has horrible service. Someone can order online not paid than arrive in the store and skip the line! Example: When you go to pharmacy, cleaners, McDonald's, Safeway or pickup pizza your order is ready to be pickup but you don't skip the line this is rude. Than the kid attending me tells me the sign is behind me, you mean I have to walk to an ATM machine and read your guidelines on how they can skip the line and paid for their bud. Than he is laughing, I ask what's funny! Because they don't want to paid delivery fees! What about curbside since you already offer delivery? I won't go their again. Very disappointing and dissatisfied. I went in there for my sister who has severe nerve pain and has had over 20 surgeries. I bought over $200 worth of product including a glass water bong. I'm definitely a newbie only understanding the medical aspect of how cannabinoids work with being in the medical field but anyone speaking with me would understand I know nothing and am a newbie. I didn't even know what to expect when I got in there, how to purchase with only cash, and other questions to ask including MAKING SURE TO CHECK THE BONG FOR CRACKS! I trusted the very nice guy and didn't think anything of it when he looks at me with a huge smile and stated all sales final with the glass bong. Of course, who would want a used bong... so understanding that I said okay. When I get home to help my sister who is going through a difficult time with pain dealing with a multitude of conditions such as Hydrocephalus, Syringomyelia, and Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1 that the bong in question has a crack in it! Come on. Seriously! Then I try to call and no one actually answers the phone but it does to recording. Simply the best source on the Bay for a dependable supply of stocked brands and strains. I have been going to HL since they opened their Seaside dispensary and find the budtenders friendly, genuinely helpful and informed. I've only heard one complaint (which I share) and that regards their "Return Policy", which is just one of the most unpleasant experiences I've had at any dispensary. It wasn't worth taking my business elsewhere, but it was definitely worth a heads-up to new visitors. I primarily use vape cartridges, which fail in some way about 10% of the time. The first few times this happened, I returned the product (with all packaging, bag and receipt as instructed at every purchase) and each time found myself speaking to a manager, defending my method of use, ability to use the product properly to prevent damage and the clear implication that I was attempting to scam HL out of a free cartridge. I stopped in to replace a faulty product they told me I could bring back if it failed to perform, and found myself having to assuage the manager's suspicion and assure him I wasn't trying to pull something over on him before I got a replacement or credit. Those three 'returns' I made were bad enough to avoid the experience again. Now, I simply toss the few cartridges that occasionally fail in the trash as the cost of smoking as a Higher Level customer. Product support is best directed at the manufacturer. read more

Usually I have nothing but high recommendation for any of the employees who have helped me there except for one employee, Mark. Each encounters with him have been less than pleasurable. Being what I would call more than a regular customer, for some reason he already seems irritated to help me and has an attitude. He will not show me any products off the bat, will only read out the names and if I ask to see them he will only bring two at a time when other employees have brought more than 4 or 5 at a time. This last time I even told him that and his only response was "sorry about that." This evening I even had to say "I am a visual person" before he would show me the product. I told him his service is different than the other employee and his was response just was "I am sorry." I am not sure if Mark understands that there different thc % and different cannabinoids %. Mark never even asked if I wanted to use any of my points. Like I said at first, I usually have a great experience and would give a 5 star rating, just after this last visit with Mark, it couldn't go without complaint. read more

I was very disappointed by our treatment by the parking staff during our visit to Higher Level today (1/19/20). We came in and the parking lot was full, so after a drive around the block, we parked in a public parking space across from the store; as we walked over to the store, a Higher Level employee told me and my wife we could not park in this public parking space. Here I will mention that my wife has a severely painful disability that affects her ability to walk and has a handicap placard for this reason. Not thinking it would be a problem to park in a public parking space across from the store ,as we often do on our visits to Higher Level, we took my car today, which does not have a handicapped placard in it. I will also mention that the area we parked in was entirely devoid of cars, and us parking there certainly would not have deprived anyone else of a place to park. When I asked the employee why we weren't allowed to park in this public parking space, she said that, "we have a friendly agreement with the business owners across the street to not allow our customers to park in these spaces" and threatened to refuse us service if we did not get back in our car and move to a different place. When I explained my wife's disability the attendant suggested we get back in our car and continue circling around the parking lot until a space opened up. Well, I don't think your "friendly agreement" is very friendly to your guests, especially those with disabilities who suffer as a result of your policy. And guess what, you guys do not own the public street, and just because you and the other business owners got together and made an arbitrary decision about who can park where, that does not give you the right to subvert parking laws or refuse people a public parking space. By law we have every right to park in that space. Shame on management for this policy. read more

Good selection and good quality. However some of the people in here could use some customer service training. It was my first time in and I didn't realize they only accepted cash. While I'm saying I'll be back multiple times, some guy with glasses behind the counter gave me a funny look and a funny look at the bud tender that was helping me. I come back not even 10 minutes later from my bank down the street at the Safeway to find out they had just put my order back. Like did I not say multiple times I would be back? I didn't catch any names but the two females that served me provided pretty good service. Just apparently the manager and some guy with glasses could use some lessons on how to treat a customer. They sold me a 1gram cartridge that was broken and they refused to give me a new one because they thought I was lying when I said it was already broken when I purchased it. I got home, opened the package, saw it was broken, out it back in the box and went straight back in with the product and my receipt. They said since I couldn't prove it was a manufacturing error, they couldn't give me a new one. I spent $60 on a broken product just to have them say that's too bad. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I just went in explaining of headaches and was looking for some CBD products. Was recommended CBD oil and purchased a 3 gram tube for $92. I had never bought anything like this so wasnt really familiar with how the measurements work. I usually buy flower. The girl that helped me mentioned to use a rice grain size per serving. I went home excited to try in hopes it would help with my headaches. I opened it up and tried a rice grain size amount. I immediately saw that the measurement might not be correct. I had to google how many ml in a gram. Once I realized the ration was 1 to 1. I then knew that it was off by a gram. I went back to speak with them thinking they would make things right. The manager asked me had I used the product. I said yes about the size of a rice grain. I didnt know how much was suppose to be in there and had trusted all parties in the process of making this product. He told me that he would not do anything for me and to leave the store. This package has a little sticker over the seal. It would be super easy to pull back that sticker, take some out, reseal and put the sticker back on. I couldnt believe their unwillingness to try and help me. I use to go there and buy all my flower. Probably over a thousand dollars worth and I am going to try and get over on you for $30????? In a week I go in for a MRI on my head because they dont know what is causing the headaches and the dizziness. I have much bigger problems than trying to get over on someone for $30! Come on. I just wanted what I paid for and some customer service would have been nice. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN! I will also make sure the next place I go opens the package in front of me and confirms the amount that is in there to be correct! $30 lesson. Dont make the same mistake I did! read more
