Absolutely not. This was a stop on the way home from a LONG road trip through the PNW. The cashier said the restroom is for customers only - no problem, I needed electrolytes for the 5+hr drive home. My family and I came in to get gas and use the restroom, having come all the way from Sacramento. I was told someone was in there so I would have to get the key from them. I wait, get in, do my business, and my sister and I take our elderly mother who has dementia in to use the restroom. He came out and was extremely rude and shitty because our mom had to use the restroom. He claimed we had been there for over an hour. We hadn't even been in town an hour. He made my mother extremely agitated and upset. I will never come here again. read more

This is my go to neighborhood chevron and I really do love the service here. Always reliable and always kind.

This is the worst Chevron I've ever been to considering the price of their gas. It should be better. The employees are very rude. They have signs up on the back of the building that say restrooms but when you go inside, they tell you there are no restrooms for customers. This is very disappointing because this is the only restroom for quite a distance if you want to take a long long hike into the park to use the public bathroom and wait in line after you've been driving three or four hours, then I would not recommend this place. Drive on and go somewhere else your bladder will thank you!!!! read more

Very convenient, clean toilet and all the snacks you could ever dream of. The staff are very helpful and funny and it's a hometown vibe.

Wow, I never do this- write a review. BUT WHAT a terrible insult in customer service. Yes, there is always two sides to a story and perhaps the young guy at the counter had a bad day; but I went out of my way to reconcile. I guess in the end, a Yelp review makes no difference because who really expects any level of service at a gas station but shouldn't we at least expect some respect. I am a local business owner who operates a very high profile business that depends on tourism. Establishments like this present a bad taste for those visiting. I am very busy, but such aggressive and combative attitudes are not proper It scares away tourists. Things went afoul when the counter clerk accused me of "throwing down my money aggressively." I quickly clarified that it was not my intent to "insult him" . Yes there prices are VERY HIGH compared to the surrounding business by I was paying for convenience and not aggressive rejection. I did apologize immediately, but he would not have it- he sent me out of the store refusing service. Feeling badly that he had interpreted it so poorly I went back a half our later hoping he cooled down. Again I apologized and his response was none of dismissal. "We do not need to be friends. In this business people are her but for a moment and then they are gone." He did not care to connect, his pride and anger was greater. The community should turn their back on this business as it does not reflect the character of the People of Monterey. I told the clerk that he should treat all with respect even those that come in with a back pack on a bike. HIs response was that he did not care who I was, just leave or he would call the police. Really? I warned that he does not know who he is treating poorly. I am fairly well know in the community with a prominent business and a heart to make a difference. He has upset me enough to go out of my way to be a pain for their business. Good luck in their sale to the new owners that are in contract. I do hope that the new owners care enough for the customers and the community to get rid of this employee. Yet, I will pray for the angry young man. May he discover forgiveness, humility and love for others. What a Sad way to live life. read more

Worst scumbag worker behind the counter. Asked to use the bathroom, we are out of town and we needed gas and to use the restroom. The guy at the counter promptly and rudely says did you read the sign? Obviously not or we wouldn't have asked. There are a few reviews on this station that are highly negative but they are also a couple years old, don't take them seriously now as I have been going to this gas station weekly for 2 years now, the boss is a great dude who goes out of his way to help anyone who asks and the workers are now stellar! The system was down once and I didn't have cash and they actually genuinely spotted my purchase and didn't make me pay. They get to know the community and they actually strive for excellence. I'm in the military and this is the closest station to the base which is why I regularly stop here but believe me they make the effort to do what they can to help and it shows. Also, they do have a bathroom that works and is for customers. So all that " no bathroom " stuff is completely false. :-) read more

Air compressor did not function. I checked twice over a three-day period, so this was not something that recently failed. While I realize that the old-fashioned "service station" no longer exists, I believe that I should be able to add air to my tires when I fill up with gas. read more

1 Star no Fkn way! This business is on the prime Monterey Location marketing "FOOD MART" and yet they have no operating restroom...? There is a restroom but the owners place an " out of order sign".... hmmmm how do they use the restroom during their shift? I always find it odd that owners are so tight @ss to their customers but we're the ones who keeps their business operating. No more of this Chevron for me ever. The attendant behind the counter inside the convenience store was extremely kind and helpful. Didn't expect that in California.
