It's a clean gas station and on my way home, so it's convenient. I've waited several times for the attendant to appear to ring me up- seems like it's a one man/ woman show which must be stressful. I don't normally write reviews for gas stations, because they're gas stations. I don't really expect much from them to be honest. However, I feel compelled after the atrocious incident I witnessed last night. I was inside purchasing a soda and fuel when a woman came in dressed in what appeared to be office/business attire. The girl behind the counter refused her business because she assumed the woman was homeless and referred to her as "You people." How in the world she would think that this woman was homeless is beyond me. The woman looked far more put together than the girl behind the counter. Not only did she tell the woman that she looked homeless, but also threatened to call the police if she didn't leave. NEVER will I EVER use that gas station again. read more

Chevron Station - Gas Stations Near Me - Monterey, California

I have had the worst service from this gas station. Several times I have had employees make remarks to me regarding what I was purchasing. When I confronted them they back tracked. This morning at 2:45 am the store was locked, I wanted to purchase gas inside, my card number has been used out of state and I was told ro always pay inside by my bank. The attendant was by the air machine smoking and stated he was on a break. His name AP or AB. He was to lazy to get up and help me. Mumbled that he was on a break. I know we need to have breaks as employees. There was no one else around. I find this to be extremely lazy. Guess he felt he could ignore a sale . The owner must not want that. I will no longer patronize this gas station. The employees are lazy, rude and opinionated about the customers. read more

351 Fremont Street Monterey CA Rick your assistant manager, your cashier, your cashier 2. (bald white guy) (short haired black guy) I came in the to store portion of the gas station at 1:15 pm to be told that I would have to wait for just a moment. I put my card in for an ATM purchase of cigarettes. The cashier closed out his register, the 2nd cashier put his information in, negating my entry of my ATM card and pin, without comment. I said that was not the way to impress me with customer service to which the first cashier jumped on my comment telling me that he had said I came in at a shift change and that I was told it would be a minute, I replied that he had told me it would be a minute, not that this was a shift change. I expressed whether he wanted the customer feedback that I was trying to give him. The 2nd cashier then asked to verify my age for the purchase of cigarettes. I am 55 years of age with grey hair. I purchase cigarettes at this same location weekly and in over a year have NEVER been asked to verify my age. This was a punitive request because I had expressed my outrage over the treatment that had been given me. Also, an invasion of my right to privacy. Also not a practice that has been in place to date at this store. I asked to speak to Rick who said that they had to check my id. I believe that if you continue to do this your employees will be in violation of federal law. As a result of this, I am informing the 13 employees who work directly across the street to avoid your store. I will then proceed across the street to the Mercedes Benz dealership, the Denny's across the street, the 76 station where I will not purchase my items, the Casar Munra's Hotel and Spa, and the Travel Lodge as well. I have nothing else to do with my spare time and feel that this action would serve me best in feeling that standing up for good customer service is my job. Great people working, Margarite and Ian are top employees and always great. The other guy though, older man believe his name is Dennis. Is always so angry and makes people wait and screams at people, even notice him go off on one the his co workers! I am frequently there and tell the people I normally see and they ask me to complain to the manager but I am never there when the manager is there. So hopefully the manager of chevron sees this! I drop by every (weekday) morning for coffee. Seattle's Best, and NO LINES! The store is clean, and everyone seems friendly. I'm a fan!

clerks are friendly. parking lot can be quite the clusterfuck of locals and tourons entering and exiting the THREE possible access points in all directions!!! grrrrr. but if its not busy, its conveniently located. they do a pretty good job keeping it clean. the red bull is always cold & they stock my bf's brand of clove cigarettes. They're not the cheapest gas in town nor are they the most expensive. sometimes the people-watching late-night in the direction of the motel is amusing....if thats not the happening spot, the late-night Denny's crowd across the street may provide entertainment! ;) read more

The clerks here are all friendly but with the amount of tourism in addition to locals that frequent here, they need more than one attendant here at a time. Shelves go empty, fountain syrup needs replacing or the restrooms need attention. But if the one and only clerk is busy behind the counter he/she cannot leave that post to restock anything. The space between the outer pump island and a 6 inch high curb is very narrow. The lane is less than 9 feet wide, so driver's car door opens over the curb. I stumbled on the curb getting back to my car as there was only about 18 inches between the curb and the car. Still limping after two days. Will see if Chevron repsonds well to my complaint. So I went to this gas station and wanted to fill up my car and was going to get a red bull and some other snacks. Before I did any of that I needed to use the bathroom. As I waited I seen an employee. I asked if we needed a key to be able to get in. She cut me off in mid sentence throw her arms up and proceeded to cussing me out for no reason. Her name was Margita after I went inside and asked another employee who she was. I used the restroom. And I went across the street and put my $75 in gas and $29 in cigarettes and $15 in drinks and snacks. Their business lost over $100 because of their employee being disrespectful never did I do anything or say anything disrespectful to her to treat me like that. To anyone going to Chevron in downtown Monterey across from Denny's if you see this black woman named Marguerite please be prepared for her ignorant and unprofessional remarks to you I will only go back to that Chevron if she's not working there anymore their management definitely needs to fire her talking to other customers I guess she's always like this can't believe the business continues to employer her read more
