I suspect that they often provide less than the number of pills that are supposed to be in an order. Fairly recently, I watched as a pharmacist filled a prescription for me. He just estimated the amount of pills he put in the container; he didn't use any device to insure the correct number of pills. When I asked him, he said he was "just eyeballing it"; he said he had the experience to know he was filling my order correctly. He was friendly and on the positive side, all of the staff there I've delt with are pleasant and try to be helpful. read more

Horrible,Horrible,Horrible I implore people to never never shop here not only did we receive horrible customer service.But was disappointed disrespect and disgusted and I work with disgusting people. I ordered a birthday cake and gave them enough time to accomplish. Not only it wasn't done on time they made me wait. While one of the worst workers came in to the bakery. With McDonald's to eat in front of me. Not washing her hands, and to me things worse she literally stole a danish in front me and eat it without a care. She clearly didn't finish our cake because she was too busy getting McDonald's while on the clock. The store manager supposedly took care of it. But I don't believe he cares after this input I will call corporate and the health department, hopefully they will take care of this issue. Again avoid this store at all cost. read more

The employees at Safeway pharmacy are super nice. The only problem I have is when you call and you want to speak to someone, they hardly ever pick up. I've tried six times throughout the day and still no answer. They need to hire another person to obviously take phone calls as we need our medication urgently. read more

I have always had such great service at this pharmacy. They have a really good web site that you can set up appointments for vaccinations. I set my mother up to get a covid shot in the Monterey area. She recently lost her vaccination card and I called the pharmacy to make sure they would help her. They looked her up on the computer and I gave them the vaccination dates and they says no problem. They answer the phones and give excellent customer service. I highly recommend this location for all your pharmacy needs. read more

We moved to the Seaside / Monterey area during the spring so I've been trying to find and setup basic services and needs such as doctors, dentists, pharmacies, etc. In doing so, I've visited and price checked nearly all of the options within 5 miles of my house and here is what I've found. Though the Safeway Pharmacy is mildly convenient if you shop at Safeway, the cash prices for the RXs I checked were nearly double the average of other area stores. For example, an RX for my dog, that was just 28 tablets of a simple generic antibiotic (that's commonly found) cost: Safeway Pharmacy - $96.99 Walgreens Pharmacy - $80.19 Target Pharmacy - $78.59 Walmart Pharmacy - $52.87 Costco Pharmacy - $29.24 Of course, we ended up getting it at Costco, since it less than was 1/3 the price of Safeway. You read that right. The price at Safeway Pharmacy was 3 times that of Costco and nearly double that of Walmart Pharmacy. When I ask about the extreme price difference, they said that's just what's on their computer and they don't price match. So, I wouldn't recommend Safeway Pharmacy to family or friends. Maybe if you have great insurance with a flat co-pay and don't care what they're charging your insurance company, it would be ok for you. Won't see ya there. read more

I wanted to start by saying. My favorite time to shop is at midnight. Lol funny I know. But I like the feeling of having the whole store just for myself. Today I was helped by Cameron who seems to really care for the customers. I didn't saw the cashiers name that helped me as well. But he was also very funny and attentive. ( he was almost going home, but he stayed a bit longer , just to assist me) This is some of the things that Makes me go back at midnight and do my shopping. Also a tall guy with blond long hair helped me finding rosemary. (I couldn't find itmyself ),Leaving his duty aside for a minute in order to assist me. This is my favorite grocery store. The manager at this pharmacy is just horrible. He's rude and very lazy. I had to move to another pharmacy after 4 or 5 times of him being unprofessional and overly rude. I've also called this pharmacy many times and the phone would literally ring and ring. Once I decided to see if I could get to the pharmacy before they answered the phone. I got in line still with the phone ringing in my ear, and this guy just let's the phone ring. He doesn't care. I think he may be in the wrong industry. read more

Third time ain't the charm for this place. I always end up having to wait in the long line because the techs can't locate a prescription, things aren't ready yet, or they are just short on folks working. In both of my cases, the dr would send the prescription in the morning. Afterwards, I call to confirm the pharmacy received the prescription since sometimes I realize the doctors office would lag a bit. On each of my occasions, they quote me 1-2 hours, both times I show up after that window and it's still not done! Seriously people, why waste my time and just give me a realistic time window. I truly have had excellent experiences with the staff. Most of my annual flu shots and immunization injections have been done here with great success. They have a very private, quiet waiting reception room. Never feared an injection, though I grew up terrified of needles. So, after overcoming major needle anxiety because of the accumulated positive experiences here: I do recommend them. I now have all my recommended preventative immunizations. Peace of mind is a gift, to give yourself! Be kind to you, especially as we grow older. read more

They screwed up my Rx dose and although they apologized for the mistake they made, they won't resolve things regarding the extra cost I will now endure to get the correct dose (I didn't see it was the wrong dose until I brought it home). I understand they cannot take an Rx back, however I feel it's very bad "customer service" to not offer another type of financial resolution due to their mistake. A couple weeks prior to this fill, I spoke to a staff member who I could tell was confused about the different doses I've had, so I spent extra time clarifying the old vs new dose and having her repeat it back to me to make sure it was correct; then they go and fill the wrong one.. Also, they quote times that my Rx will be ready and when I go in at that time it's not yet filled and I have to wait 20 mins.. This happened more than once. I'm definitely looking into switching pharmacies. read more

I tried many times to get through with a request about a prescription and no one answered. So far, excellent. A human answered the phone quickly (unlike CVS or Walgreens), checked their stock for the rare item we needed, and called our insurance to make sure we were covered. I hope to make them our "go to" druggist. read more

I tried to cash a lottery ticket at Safeway in del Rey oaks in Monterey. I went there the first day and they said the desk closed at 7 pm. So I returned the next at 6:50 the employee at the window walked away from the counter. So I asked the cashier to call someone. Another employee came over and couldn't tell me exactly when I could come to use the check out station. After waiting 10 min The manager Mini came over a acting rude like she didn't want to help. She didn't say hi..she just said where's your ticket. Then she was slamming the drawer around and acting like in unconvinced her. She asked when I came in and then gave me the cash and told me I can go to a gas station to cash them. She said the hours were open til 8 pm. Though no one is there to help you when you come in. She was short and rude like I inconvenienced her. I've shopped her for 10 years so I definitely will not shop here any more. Its not cool to be rude to customers when they are going off the hours the employees state, then to be rude on top of it. read more

Over the last week, tried calling the pharmacy to see if they're still offering Flu shots. No one has ever answered the phone, so I've left three separate voice-messages with them. No one has ever bothered to call me back. Need I say more? Low-level service, low-level employees. read more
