my mom went in to CVS yesterday to get a prescription for me as I received a text notice. The…read morepharmacy gave her a prescription that I have previously told them that I no longer take. I take a new medicine that although similar cannot be mixed with the other medicine that I use to take. I could die if I took both. The pharmacy rang up the wrong medicine and demanded that my mom accept it. She told them that accepting it may make it difficult for me to get the right medicine. I want CVS to correct this issue once and for all. It seems they care more about profit over customer health. Why give me medicine that I no longer take that could make me severely sick and I could die from if I mix with my new prescription otherwise? Is it so much more important to bill my insurance and get profit then the well being of me, a reluctantly devoted customer?!? Sadly, this is the only place in Prunedale area where I can get my prescriptions. I am sure CVS likes this exclusive advantage. To be noted, I used to be a huge fan of CVS. But then in the beginning when I first shopped at the store there was a dollar section, a lot more rewards, and there were two CVS stores in Prunedale. The little one across the highway had its problems too but I liked that it was convenient to go in and get what I needed and then come out. I could just get my medicine within 10 minutes and leave or go shopping and purchase what I needed or wanted to buy within 30 minutes or less. No long waits to get medicine in the back pharmacy. -However the big one now has long waiting lines to get prescriptions just about every time I go there.- But then, there were the other frustrating issues like when the small CVS would confuse customers with switching "clearances" back to regular prices suddenly and then there was the one time I wanted to use my rewards to purchase a USB cable and then a clerk made some kind of mistake but instead of being honest about it, lied to me, telling me that it did not work because I must have used it so I returned the item (all the while, the manager followed along with it), - later I saw a copy of the receipt in my email and it showed the rewards was indeed applied. But I never was able to use my rewards for that month. And now there is this issue with my medicine at the big CVS. It certainly tests my loyalty as a customer to a store but where else can I go to get my medicine and basics in Prunedale? No where else. I can go to Safeway or Grocery Outlet for food but for prescriptions and non food items, CVS has the advantage here. I wish a Walgreens or Walmart Mini Mart would move into the area or if Safeway could have a pharmacy section like some Safeway stores do in the Bay Area. As I have researched business as a hobby in the past, I find that competition is healthy for the economy especially for consumerism. Still CVS has the best rewards program I ever signed up for. Rite Aid which is no longer around and Walgreens do not compare. But the rewards were so much better in the beginning when the CVS brand bought up the Longs Drugs brand and many of the stores moved into the original Longs Drugs locations.

I found that the staff were very helpful when I asked them to check on the price of a shirt that I found that was missing its price. I am always glad with the soda selection especially Walmart's own brand of Dr. Thunder that virtually tastes exactly like Dr. Pepper. It is always a great to buy their brand of soda and the flavor is so close to the popular brands that I barely can tell the difference. However, when I meant up to my parents, my mom was very upset and was anxious to leave. Apparently, there was uninvolved parents who were so into themselves that they did not care that their children were running around and making items fall on purpose. Those parents were not watching their children. Now, some people may think what do I expect?!? This is Walmart! This is where the "wild life" ill mannered customers blend in with the mature civilized customers. Yes, I am clearly saying that is what you may expect- people with their children who do not know how to supervise their children or act in public. But then, you would not see this in say Trader Joes. Perhaps the types of customers are kind of different. It seems that way. Although, some stores also appreciate customers who tell staff about unruly customers and would be willing to go on the intercom to tell parents to supervise their children and that any broken items they will be required to pay for. Or at least have a staff person confront the customer with their unruly children to tell them to supervise their children. I never see any Walmart that does this and clearly Walmart is not a playground. I am also aware that they deal with property loss as I keep up with the news. If one of those kids ran into one of my parents who are unsteady on their feet or one of those items they dropped, one of my parents would trip on and they fell down getting hurt, I would be very upset and I would not ignore it or look the other way. The law clearly states if a customer informs a clerk that there are unruly unsupervised children, and they do nothing about it, then an elderly customer gets hurt, not only are the parents held accountable but also the store. This is because the staff were warned and still did not intervene to prevent a tragedy. Of course, I am aware that it is to the store's advantage not to do anything and hope no tragedy happens and if it does the person won't take legal action. It is better then for the store to look the other way and being that it is Walmart, it is a huge corporation. A corporation I am all to familiar with as I read at least 3 books about this successful company that was started by a determined and extremely compulsive founder Sam Walton who started the mega company by modest means. But I also know that there is such a thing as making the shopping experience for everyone to be pleasant and welcoming. That means informing people to watch their children and not allow them to misbehave. Let me suggest a recording through the intercom that comes on upon every hour that would state, parents need to supervise their children at all times and are expected to pick up any items their children drop. If any item becomes broken, then the parents will be required to pay for it. Or at least perhaps staff should take customers concerns especially those who are seniors seriously. We all hope someday we will live into old age (although we may not be looking forward to it) but it is little things like respect that matter.

Anywho, CVS Marina is really lucky to have an employee as awesome as Jane. Jane's a Gem. I hope the "powers that be" appreciate her.

They had received the prescription at least 15 minutes earlier. When we arrived, they had the prescription but that it would not be ready until 2:30pm due to going to lunch. The lunch time was 1:30 - 2pm. It is ridiculous they cannot just staff throughout the day, but they also could have had the prescription filled before lunch. However, we proceeded with them filling the prescription and we came back about 2:30 or so. The prescriptions were ready but they needed insurance info, which I supplied. The person at the counter wrote down the information from the insurance card on a brown Target bag. I have no idea whether he wrote everything down correctly or not. I was then told that I had to wait at least 15 minutes (just walk around the store) which was ridiculous. So, I then left and came back 20 minutes later. The prescription was still not ready. The extremely rude pharmacist yelled from the back to me that "your insurance is expired." I explained that it was not. It is employment insurance and does not expire. She then told me to call the insurance company as the "insurance is showing invalid." She couldn't decide on the excuse if it was expired or invalid. And what good would calling the insurance company do? They would say what we know that insurance is fine. It is completely on the pharmacist's end. I asked again if she could spend a little time to get this resolved as my wife needed the medication. She simply refused. I did not believe she even tried insurance at all. So, I left and had the doctor change the prescription to Costco. We immediately drove to Costco. We arrived and they had the prescription ready and, guess what? The insurance was just fine. Of course we knew that. Just don't waste your time with CVS ever! Just go to a real pharmacy with people that can actually complete prescriptions properly.

This is only one of two CVS's in the area that made it to the 2.3-2.5 range and was not marked down…read morefor serious customer service issues. (Like fast food that typically sits around 2.0-3.0 stars, CVS usually has a 2-3 star rating and 1-2.2 means it's pretty bad don't go there and 2.3-3 means it's typical. Anything 3+ means it's an exceptional store and few in fast food or pharmacies have such a high score.) We have been going to this CVS for years when visiting this area. Never really had a problem buying waters, sodas, and basic medical supplies or snacks here. Primarily we just purchased convenience items, but this last time we got a prescription refilled. Would have to say that the people at the pharmacy registers did seem less competent than at CVS stores back home. The lady who helped us was ok. She did have to go fetch our prescription as it was not in the bin even though the app said it was ready. We did not have to wait long and this sometimes happens back home. The man at the register next to us seemed far less competent. Per Gemini AI, use the app, have your doc phone in a refill rather than having CVS contact your doctor for a refill, and do not bother calling CVS or waiting for a text, just check the app and/or go into the store and ask to wait for your prescription if your doc already called it nor you had refills left. We used this general procedure and got a refill next day and did not spend a lot of time at the store or have to argue with register people. Their lot is pretty big for the area. Never had trouble getting parking. Just beware that you cannot turn left on Lighthouse, so plan to turn left or right and circle back through the side streets to be able to make a right turn into the lot off of Lighthouse or from the side entrance on Prescott. Would definitely come back here for convenience items and would get prescriptions refilled here again using my own doc and the CVS app rather than relying on CVS to get it done--just go to pick up.
