I have mixed feelings about this store. Today, I went there with my senior parents at around 3 pm. I left them to shop as I looked at other things. I found that the staff were very helpful when I asked them to check on the price of a shirt that I found that was missing its price. I am always glad with the soda selection especially Walmart's own brand of Dr. Thunder that virtually tastes exactly like Dr. Pepper. It is always a great to buy their brand of soda and the flavor is so close to the popular brands that I barely can tell the difference. However, when I meant up to my parents, my mom was very upset and was anxious to leave. Apparently, there was uninvolved parents who were so into themselves that they did not care that their children were running around and making items fall on purpose. Those parents were not watching their children. Now, some people may think what do I expect?!? This is Walmart! This is where the "wild life" ill mannered customers blend in with the mature civilized customers. Yes, I am clearly saying that is what you may expect- people with their children who do not know how to supervise their children or act in public. But then, you would not see this in say Trader Joes. Perhaps the types of customers are kind of different. It seems that way. Although, some stores also appreciate customers who tell staff about unruly customers and would be willing to go on the intercom to tell parents to supervise their children and that any broken items they will be required to pay for. Or at least have a staff person confront the customer with their unruly children to tell them to supervise their children. I never see any Walmart that does this and clearly Walmart is not a playground. I am also aware that they deal with property loss as I keep up with the news. If one of those kids ran into one of my parents who are unsteady on their feet or one of those items they dropped, one of my parents would trip on and they fell down getting hurt, I would be very upset and I would not ignore it or look the other way. The law clearly states if a customer informs a clerk that there are unruly unsupervised children, and they do nothing about it, then an elderly customer gets hurt, not only are the parents held accountable but also the store. This is because the staff were warned and still did not intervene to prevent a tragedy. Of course, I am aware that it is to the store's advantage not to do anything and hope no tragedy happens and if it does the person won't take legal action. It is better then for the store to look the other way and being that it is Walmart, it is a huge corporation. A corporation I am all to familiar with as I read at least 3 books about this successful company that was started by a determined and extremely compulsive founder Sam Walton who started the mega company by modest means. But I also know that there is such a thing as making the shopping experience for everyone to be pleasant and welcoming. That means informing people to watch their children and not allow them to misbehave. Let me suggest a recording through the intercom that comes on upon every hour that would state, parents need to supervise their children at all times and are expected to pick up any items their children drop. If any item becomes broken, then the parents will be required to pay for it. Or at least perhaps staff should take customers concerns especially those who are seniors seriously. We all hope someday we will live into old age (although we may not be looking forward to it) but it is little things like respect that matter. read more

Pretty bad experience, i was going school supplies shopping and they had 0.5 pencils and only had 0.7 and 0.9 led. This made no sense because if Im buying pencils im ob gonna buy led too except i couldn't because there was not fitting led for my pencils. Do not be intimidated by the police car in front of the building. Just feel safe. Inside it was good and their chicken smells good and it was eight dollars. Easy parking. Easy access to highway. Relatively clean inside and has everything. The price of groceries is very reasonable for California and this is the third time, in this area, I buy the best fresh grapes at the decent price. It was crunchy and perfect. Self check out also. There is a Lady checking what you're both going out and she's smiling. Marina is relatively safe and the area is getting you buildings averaging $1.3 million and up. This area is expected to grow and improve. Good luck for Walmart. read more

I had to run into Walmart one evening because my scooter died and I didn't have a charger with me. So I walked to electronics and all of a sudden I felt something grab me between my legs and I couldn't see anything or anyone there! I was scared and freaked out because it was aggressive grabbing at me down there and I honestly had to grab myself in the front and back and tried speed walking/running to get help for an employee or someone.. Anyone. I went to the fitting room and it stopped so when I came out I tried asking for the manager. She was a female so I thought she would understand how scared I was. I asked her if I could use the phone to call the police and she told me No. I seriously could not understand why she was telling me No so I explained why I wanted to call. I thought she could better understand my reasoning... But no she still would not let me call for help! It gets worse.. I then went to buy a jacket and was so distraught by the whole situation I ended up not grabbing my change at the self check out ($15). When I got outside I realized and walked back in and it was no longer there so I grabbed the same manager lady that I spoke to earlier because she was right there. I told her what happened and she said there was nothing she could do? I said but you could look at the camera and give me my money back or see who did it or call the police and make a police report and she would not! So basically I went to fucked up Walmart, got raped and robbed and then told by the workers, or the manager that I couldn't call for help or that I couldn't do anything about it and that she could not help me!!! I WILL NEVER SHOP OR GO IN THAT STORE AGAIN!! I WANT TO PRESS CHARGES AGAINST THEM FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ASSAULT!! I not really entirely happy about Walmart but it's only place that I can get variety of things from Lingerie, groceries to Health & beauty products. I didn't like that they constantly change things & stop carrying certain products as well as changing the floor plan. How bizarre! I wanted an external hard drive today so while parked near Best Buy waiting for them to open I just thought I would price check the same drive on Walmart website. They have it for a few bucks cheaper and it's in store. I don't usually shop at Walmart because I don't like their business practices and the way they treat customers and employees there, but it's been 4 years since my last experience. So I thought I'd see if Walmart got any better. They didn't. I walked in and found the exact advertised hard drive, asked an employee to unlock the case because I want to buy the item, he rings it up for $70+ and I show him the Walmart website advertised price of $62. He says he can't price match. Yep, a Walmart employee told me he can't price match the advertised price of Walmart... price match usually means one retail place matches the price of a different retailer. Not in this case. Walmart CAN NOT sell you products listed on their website for the price that Walmart sells products for. I could be mistaken but advertising one price and then raising the price at the register is an illegal practice in America for a reason. Anyway, I asked the employee for the advertised price and we went through the price match thing again and again from different angles but his minimum wage brain was not trained on how to solve the problem so I had to buy it online. I didn't know what that even meant but he informed me afterwards that the hard drive I wanted will now go into a box, and on a cart. My online order will activate an automation process in another part of the store where 10 busy employees will 'pick' items from the store for online orders, like mine. So, I will save $3 but Walmart will now pay 6 employees to hand me the hard drive that I could have just walked out of the store with. Does this even make sense? I called the store to speak with someone and just like the register guy that should have 'price matched' his own stores priced items, I was connected with an employee that missed the concept completely because she wasn't trained to think outside the Walmart concepts. The simplest form: I wanted a product from Walmart because of an advertised price that turned out to be false advertising so I was then diverted through their own in-house process that costs Walmart more money to hand deliver the item and my take away as a customer is simple, there are two options that would have been better. Option 1. I order online from another place and get the actual advertised price. Option 2 I walk into Best Buy next time and buy what I want and avoid waiting in curbside. (Oh by the way Walmart, I'm leaving this review while waiting for your curbside service) Imagine if curbside service was more service and less wasting everyone valuable time. read more

The only reason I go to this Walmart is because I live in Santa Cruz and there is not even one in our area. Sometimes they have great prices however, you have to be prepared for crappy and non-existent service. The store on the website says they close at 11 however at 10:30 they locked their doors so we had to go in through the out area and the Woman at the out door was giving us dirty looks. The reason for the 5 stars is due to the strict adherence to COVID SIP rules. Counting of the number of customers allowed in the store. Normally shopping here really stresses me out. The crowds usually make shopping very unpleasant and I rush in and rush out. I understand that shelter in place sucks, but wow, they are really counting the capacity of the store patrons. The line moved fairly quickly as well. As I entered the store I noticed instantly the emptiness. It was so surprising and relaxing to be able to browse the aisles for my much needed shampoo, lotion, and butter, lol. I was even able to purchase a gift for my friends babies first christmas. It was actually sort of bizarre the aisles were so empty. No need to worry about social distancing when shopping in a nearly empty store. The employees were nice as well. So I have bought beer from this Walmart before and lately it is a huge disappointment it does not even taste good anymore and when I buy the beer from a different store it tastes fine and we're talking about the craft beers not just your average Budweiser. The bigger ear cooler has not been working properly for about 2 months I look at the digital display and it says 64° or defrosting. I brought this attention to the food and beverage manager three times and the general manager of the store twice and they both have told me that it's a third party through corporate to get it repaired that beer has been sitting at 64 degrees not chill it's absolutely disgusting the manager should just call the refrigeration repair people in Salinas to come and fix it right away get all that old beer that's been sitting there not chilled thrown away and get the distributors to come in and bring in fresh beer. Earlier this month when my buddy bought some beer from this Walmart in the non-refrigeration section he did not feel good after a while and that was just one beer and he usually drinks a lot. Other things that need to be worked on in the store are the amount of employees just standing around doing nothing or pushing those big blue carts they need a slowdown a bit before they run into one of the customers like they did with me. Also they need to have more cashiers at the store and get rid of the self checkouts all together other stores are doing that and they've switched to paper bags I don't know why Marina is still uses plastic bags. I generally don't go to the Walmart in Marina anymore I'll drive a little bit further and go to the super Walmart in Salinas where the manager is definitely taken care of his machines and having more employees. read more

When I'm low on hand sanitizer, I like coming here because not only is it inexpensive, but it's the cleanest Walmart I've ever been to. Like any other location, it has your standard departments. From Electronics & Office, Crafts & Party Supplies, Food, Household & Pets, to Home Furniture & Patio, you name it, they probably carry what you are looking for. In "normal" times, this would be a pretty good store. But in the middle of a pandemic, it's poorly designed for customer and staff safety. Many of the aisles are too narrow, and with boxes and displays in some of them, there's just not enough room for people to maintain distance. A number of the customers and staff don't seem to get the whole personal distance thing. There were customers in there who brought their entire families, potentially exposing them and others to illness. Some of the kids were unmasked. The store itself is okay, but just try to get someone to answer a phone. They must have a store policy of ignoring ringing phones. Emails aren't responded to, of course. The only reason I went in there was to pick up an order that I couldn't get delivered. One email I received from them said that the Pickup Counter is at the front of the store and to the left. It's to the way back and to the right. When I got to the counter, they asked if I had cart. They can't have carts available back there? Supposedly they have curbside pickup as an option, but I could nothing useful about it online. The best thing I can say about them--I got a couple good deals on "Black Friday" sale items, Next time, rather than driving half an hour each way to get a runaround, I'll shop elsewhere. read more

Has to be the absolute worst Walmart in America and I've been to a lot. Horrible setup, crappy customer service, understaffed. Employees are rude, and seemed to get angry when you ask them a question and they have no idea where anything is and that goes for "managers" as well. Never smiling and are unwilling to look up items for you. Always out of stock, dirty, unorganized. Definitely in need of a district manager visit to get this place in order. I've had good luck at this Wal Mart. It isn't the size of a typical Super Center, it's quite a bit smaller than what you would expect from a super center. The electronics department has reasonable in stock percentages and their groceries are very reasonably priced. There are some shenanigans going on in the parking lot so do be careful who you are near. Overall, the area is safe and the store is clean enough. read more

I recommend only shopping here if you have absolutely no other choice. I would to shop at the Walmart in my home town all the time but this one in Marina often seems dirty and things don't seem really easy to find. There was only one cart available and I'm honestly not sure if it was even clean. At least with stores like Target and Safeway the carts at least appear to have been wiped down. I'd also like to add that it doesn't make a lot of sense to have signs up urging people to practice social distancing for COVID-19 and then have the greeter (a man who appears to be a senior citizen, the most at risk group) standing about 2 feet from you as you enter the main entrance, a choke point in which the majority of the people who enter the store use. I hope that poor guy doesn't get sick. read more

Why does one GPS say this place is closed while the other says it's not? It's said this to me and my family on a bunch of our trips here from a hotel or a campsite. Anyways, overall our experience here has always been just okay. It's a big place, with supposedly a lot of things in it, that's fine. I guess it's true but while it may have "everything" that doesn't mean it has a variety of one thing. One can expect maybe three options to one thing compared to a normal five option to another thing. It's fairly organized in how to find certain things around the area. A whole lot of signs and what not here! Service is a toss up. Cashiers I've dealt with have been in too much of a rush and just have an all-around bad attitude. BUT the people who have helped during trying out clothes have always been so nice. 3/5 , I don't want to come here when I'm in town, but I have to. Bought and oil filter about two weeks ago. Bought a Mobile-1 extended performance filter, which costs considerably more than the others as it is supposed to last an entire year. Went to change my oil, and a cheap Fram filter was inside the box!!
