Worker Yvonne and a younger staff member spent entire time gossiping about other staff members working there, lacked positive and helpful attitude. I helped myself to the self checkout to avoid interacting with negativity, but when an older customer needed assistance, she made the person feel like asking for assistance was a burden. Older customer just wanted help and clarification. Work on your customer service, rather than gossiping about your coworkers. I love the other manager with the glasses, she was always helping locals and people. read more

my mom went in to CVS yesterday to get a prescription for me as I received a text notice. The pharmacy gave her a prescription that I have previously told them that I no longer take. I take a new medicine that although similar cannot be mixed with the other medicine that I use to take. I could die if I took both. The pharmacy rang up the wrong medicine and demanded that my mom accept it. She told them that accepting it may make it difficult for me to get the right medicine. I want CVS to correct this issue once and for all. It seems they care more about profit over customer health. Why give me medicine that I no longer take that could make me severely sick and I could die from if I mix with my new prescription otherwise? Is it so much more important to bill my insurance and get profit then the well being of me, a reluctantly devoted customer?!? Sadly, this is the only place in Prunedale area where I can get my prescriptions. I am sure CVS likes this exclusive advantage. To be noted, I used to be a huge fan of CVS. But then in the beginning when I first shopped at the store there was a dollar section, a lot more rewards, and there were two CVS stores in Prunedale. The little one across the highway had its problems too but I liked that it was convenient to go in and get what I needed and then come out. I could just get my medicine within 10 minutes and leave or go shopping and purchase what I needed or wanted to buy within 30 minutes or less. No long waits to get medicine in the back pharmacy. -However the big one now has long waiting lines to get prescriptions just about every time I go there.- But then, there were the other frustrating issues like when the small CVS would confuse customers with switching "clearances" back to regular prices suddenly and then there was the one time I wanted to use my rewards to purchase a USB cable and then a clerk made some kind of mistake but instead of being honest about it, lied to me, telling me that it did not work because I must have used it so I returned the item (all the while, the manager followed along with it), - later I saw a copy of the receipt in my email and it showed the rewards was indeed applied. But I never was able to use my rewards for that month. And now there is this issue with my medicine at the big CVS. It certainly tests my loyalty as a customer to a store but where else can I go to get my medicine and basics in Prunedale? No where else. I can go to Safeway or Grocery Outlet for food but for prescriptions and non food items, CVS has the advantage here. I wish a Walgreens or Walmart Mini Mart would move into the area or if Safeway could have a pharmacy section like some Safeway stores do in the Bay Area. As I have researched business as a hobby in the past, I find that competition is healthy for the economy especially for consumerism. Still CVS has the best rewards program I ever signed up for. Rite Aid which is no longer around and Walgreens do not compare. But the rewards were so much better in the beginning when the CVS brand bought up the Longs Drugs brand and many of the stores moved into the original Longs Drugs locations. read more

Easily the worst Pharmacy ever. Literally just got home from having shoulder surgery. Went to fill my prescription and was told they do not carry it based on the demographic of Prunedale. So basically they discriminate on the people that live local to this pharmacy. Now if I call my doctor, I can get the prescription moved to San Miguel Canyon CVS which is the next exit off the freeway. Apparently a better class of people. Of course, that conversation occurred after they told us to come back in 25 minutes and both medication's would be ready. Only to be told that we are at a pharmacy with the wrong demographic. They were able to fill my second medication (diazepam), but the pharmacy tech literally told us it was an antibiotic. This part of the visit was even scarier, as the pharmacy staff does not know the difference between a muscle relaxer, and an antibiotic. Maybe the reason they don't carry more robust medications is THEY can't be trusted with them. To summarize, the CVS on Vierra Canyon is surrounded by a demographic that does not allow them to carry certain medications. 2 miles down the road the demographic apparently improves, and you can get the medications at this CVS on San Miguel. Would love an open discussion about the Prunedale demographics versus the Salinas demographic, and which pharmacies discriminate against its own population,, and which don't. Also, a discussion about the potential life-threatening implications that could occur when pharmacy staff does not know the difference between antibiotics and a muscle relaxer. The wait time is always long. I used to go to the CVS in Morgan Hill and they were awesome. I was shocked to see how bad this one was. I was in urgent need of my medicine before a long holiday weekend. They wouldn't accommodate. I reached out to my health care provider and they called them. I then called CVS to follow up and they were very rude. Completely unnecessary. If they don't carry the medicine I am prescribed, they don't tell me unless I drive over there and ask them. My doctor sent my prescriptions to this pharmacy because my Medicare Part D does not cover them (I usually use a home-delivery pharmacy). When I went to pick them up, the pharmacy clerk was ready to give them to me. However, I could not receive them since I showed the pharmacy assistant or clerk my Medicare card. They are to be covered under Medicare Part B. After this, I was told the pharmacy required some code for Medicare Part B. My doctor's office resent the prescriptions, but I am still waiting to receive them. It is almost two weeks after I had an exam with my doctor. The doctor's office wanted to know what exactly the pharmacy requires. I asked the office to send prescriptions to Costco Pharmacy now. I know the CVS pharmacy is short staff, but it is getting so frustrating to call the doctor and pharmacy. And the doctor's staff are bewildered. I just hope the Costco Pharmacy is better. read more

I need my Advair inhaler for an upcoming Thanksfgiving trip. I went in last Friday. They said they were out of stock. I came back a couple days later (last Sunday), and it had arrived, but they hadn't unpacked it yet. I came back on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, same answer, not unpacked. I threw a fit, and they called me back with a voice mail saying it wasn't in the shipment, maybe in the next one. If you need your meds, this is not the place for you. Maybe you'll die waiting. Made an appointment here for a COVID booster and added on a flu shot * at the recommendation of the CVS website. * But when I got to the appointment the pharmacist refused to give me both shots at once. Said she didn't believe in combining the shots, and I should come back a different day for the flu shot. Every time the automated answering system tells us our prescription is ready, it isn't when we get there, and then 20 minutes becomes at least an hour. While a few of the pharmacy are friendly, most of them give the feeling they'd like you to just go away. The store is huge, but there isn't much in it (when you have to spend an hour or more wandering around you get to know these things). read more

I retired recently and have centralize my life out in the Prunedale area, where my home is. Previously I worked in Monterey and simply used the pharmacies there. I had read a couple of complaints about the local CVS pharmacy and still decided to try them. Melissa helped me at the pharmacy and she was wonderful; found a way to save me considerable money on a expensive prescription. I will be very happy to go back. No complaints here. read more

This should be a negative star, this is the absolute worst Pharmacy in Northern California. For the third month in a row they cannot fill my prescriptions 8n a timely manner. I call in for my normal refills, and the automated systems lets me know when the prescriptions will be ready for pickup, usually the next day. So knowing how slow they are, I give them a little extra time; 36 working hours this last time. I drive to the pharmacy, wait in line, (6ft apart of course) get to the counter only to be told that they are not ready. The pharmacy is really backed up and if I come back just before closing, my medicines might be ready. How incompetent is the management of this business. Maybe they are trying to be so bad that the store will close. All I know is that I will not only be transferring my prescriptions, but also moving out of the area, so that I will not have to deal one more time with the incompetently of CVS read more

If I could give 0 I would. my Dr sent over a prescription at 1:20. We got there after 3 and was told it would take 15 minutes to fill. Ok we walked over to Safeway to go to the bathroom and ended up buying a few things. (CVS has no public bathrooms). So we were gone about 1/2 hour so we got in line and when we got to the counter were again told it wasn't ready and take 15 minutes if we wanted to wait. When I pointed out that what we had been told that 1/2 hour ago. She said well it might be less than 15 minutes and turned around and left. So we waited again for 17 minutes. We were about to get in line again when we were called. While we were waiting 3 others were told their prescriptions were not ready and they could wait. Totally disorganized. read more

They're usually pretty good with the volume of customers they handle. Staff is reasonably polite (don't expect small talk and smiles) and they get the job done. Sometimes things take a little longer and, like most pharmacies, it can be unpredictable as to what time is the best time to go. Staff work quickly, but sometimes a difficult customer can jam up the whole line. Overall, they're pretty direct when explaining something that may not be obvious to a customer, like lack of insurance coverage and I like how they enforce the queue to keep people from jumping the line. read more

Seems no matter what time prescriptions are brought or called in there's always at least a 20 minute wait. My dentist called in my prescription at 1030 and when I went to pick them up st 1130, I got the standard "there're not really yet, 15-20 minutes." If I could give a ZERO considering my most recent experience, I would. Sometimes my Rxs are filled in a timely way and ready when I show up at this pharmacy. Sometimes they are not. Their automated system gives inaccurate info and sometimes is totally on the blink. This started long before the pandemic. So already, I'd been pretty fed up with dealing with this pharmacy. Early this past week, my doctor submitted a request for an opiate pain RX that I already get filled here, but this time it was for a dosage increase. Pharmacy staff is supposed to know how to deal with such a request, but evidently they don't, or they just don't care. This is for pain medication, so most of the world would understand exactly how important that can be to a customer! Instead, the pharmacy sent message saying they couldn't refill RX because it can only be filled once per 30 days, due to Medicare rules. When I called them, after several minutes my call was answered by an pharmacy employee who told me it had nothing to do with the pharmacy and was up to Medicare. She didn't even transfer me to the actual pharmacist. And what she told me was untrue. I found out when I called Medicare, then my RX program manager, Navitus, who told me that a dosage increase on existing medication CAN be filled at any time --no rule that you have to wait, since this is merely an increase. The Navitus rep expressed surprise that CVS hadn't even submitted this request to them as they should have done! Navitus called this CVS pharmacy right away and reported back to me that they now had the approval to fill my RX. But did they?? You, Gentle Reader, know the answer. I called CVS several times the next day and the robot voice told me the RX was in progress. Then that night, when I called CVS pharmacy, employee told me they were OUT of stock as of that day! If they'd filled the RX when they were supposed to, my RX would have been filled and I would be in a lot less pain now. And the manager has not even called me back. I still don't have the RX and this pharmacy has not even acknowledged their error and spectacular lack of customer service. I'll be transferring several RXs to Costco soon. read more

I really can't believe how awful this pharmacy is! Everything about them is pathetic. Bad attitudes and nothing's ever ready when it was ordered days ago! Plus they were out of a medication so they took it upon themselves to replace it with something else and never told me, when I got home I saw one I wasn't family with, I tried calling them several times just to wait on hold and then after 10 minutes someone would pick up the phone and tell me there were 3 callers ahead of me and she kept hanging up on me instead of putting me back on hold. At first I thought it was an honest mistake but I called back 3 more times and she kept doing it over and over! I gave up and just called my dr to clear up the mistake. It's sad how bad this place treats its customers. They should just close if they don't want to be here to assist people in need. Every patron is sick with one thing or another and we aren't receiving the proper treatment.
