These pharmacys are terrible. The Cvs across the highway on Vierra Cyn here in Prunedale isn't any better. My son had to get antibiotics for an infected tooth. The dentist called in the prescription to the Cvs on Vierra Cyn. When we went to pick it up a couple of hours later they told us they never got it. Called the dentist back and they said it was there waiting for us. Called Cvs back '' oh its probably at Cvs on San Miguel''. OK, we go to the one on San Miguel not there either. Call the dentist again. They Finally get it straightened out and they filled it but then wanted to charge my son even though his insurance covers the cost 100%. They need more time to figure this out. 4 hours later we get the prescription and leave. What a fiasco! The people that work in these pharmacys are not trained well on how to work with insurance companies and they're rude. When my husband had surgery he went in to get a prescription for pain meds and he was already taking these for a prior injury so the pharmacist refused to fill it. They told him to come back when he was done with the first prescription even though the new one had different dosages and directions. He was furious! We only came here because it's closer to where we live and he was in alot of pain just getting out of the hospital. He grabbed that prescription back and we left and went straight to Walmart in Marina and they filled it right away, no problem. We'll never use either of these pharmacys again. read more

I went in and the entire area by the pharmacy (multiple isles) smelled highly of urine. I used to work in healthcare so I know the smell very well it was overwhelming and pervasive but there wasn't someone in sight that could have smelled that way it was like someone urinated on the carpet. I'm used to this stuff so as im using the self checkout I see a woman who works there and let her know i smelled urine and where. Her response was "I don't know what to tell you." I didnt need to be told anything I was letting her know so that it would be known because she works there so I mean they might need a plan of action to find and clean it? anyways they had the medication my child needed so stars for that but that attitude was not the business so taking stars for that. read more

This pharmacy is a train wreck. Nothing is consistent, the customer service is awful. The pharmacist hung up on me today. Very mature, she was clearly having a bad morning. The notification system is full of flaws. If you want to be treated like crap, this is the pharmacy for you. read more

I am still upset about the incidence as clearly the clerk nor the manager who were at the counter at the time never admitted that it was their mistake and implied that I already used my monthly reward credit which obviously I did not. They would rather not admit their human error. I also never got a formal apology from the headquarters. Instead, I see now they have only self check out in the front. Perhaps my review is a big reason for that change as well as to save money on staff. It was never my intent for my review to be the result of this. I was angry and felt betrayed by a store that I had been a customer of since the beginning and would only praise before this stressful experience. I do not like self checkout, actually I detest it as it feels cold and unwelcoming. There is something to be said of a clerk who at the counter greets you, asks if you found everything that you were looking for, and perhaps asks how your day has been. Sure there is the risk of human error of which this store seemed to have had much of in the past (my past reviews and many others here on Yelp clearly show this), however, all I was hoping was more compassion and honesty from the staff. Since then, I have purchased a few items here but in the pharmacy area mostly as luckily there has yet to be self checkout in the pharmacy which is a relief! A 5th grader could do a better job putting in prescriptions! OMFG! Talk about dumb as a rock! Backstory: Medical doesn't allow a person to have full dosages. I take 72 mg Concerta. So he has to write out one with 18 mg and one with 54mg totaling it up to 72mg to follow medicals rules of how much their clients are allowed to have. However, I was taking 72mg of Concerta before I got on Medical. The stupid pharmacist gave me my 18mg and accused me of writing over the date of my 54mg prescription! They didn't even bother looking through the records when I told them to, "they said we don't have to" I even asked what day does it look like to them and they refuse to answer. I went to get my prescriptions tonight that I had given to them a week prier with the confirmation from my Dr. as I saw him two days ago. They had it wrong like they do every single time for some reason. Except now, they had a problem with the way my Dr writes. Everybody knows how hard it is to get a hold of your Dr. Even more so when they are on vacation, which he just happen to fit me in before he left. Point being, every experience here is a nightmare, I dread on the idea going there, I am definitely going to switch pharmacies. If I could give them no stars, I would. The saddest thing is that I have been coming here for many years, and I notice there are new people almost every time. I wonder what's going on behind closed doors to see people rotate the way they do. I am sure that has some correlation on the craptacular service. Let me dumb this down for you, CVS, you're CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! A trained monkey could do your job! By the way the pharmacist doesn't know when to stfu! Why would babble on and on and on when I'm off my medication, out of it and did the responsible thing on my end of giving my prescription early to make YOUR job easier? What has happened to this CVS pharmacy? You used to get in and out fast! For the last 3 months the wait time in line has gotten RIDICULOUS! One pharmacist and one or two clerks who are slower then molasses! The first thing they need to do is a better way of filing the prescriptions as they get filled. The staff spends half the time looking for your prescription. Bags EVERYWHERE and the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. For those of us who have a hard time standing this 30 minutes standing in line is RIDICULOUS! Sucks 3/7/19- Two months after I posted this review and this pharmacy still SUCKS! Third thing they "did not receive my doctors prescription" Same doctor. This is bullshit! How embarrassing and wasteful of my doctors time because CVS can't FIND my prescription in that mess of a pharmacy! This is possibly the worst Cvs of all. Pharmacy staff is distant, ignored you and always seems angry. When I asked for a manager, he seemed nice and even gave me a store credit to say he was sorry - but never told me it was only good for a week. They rarely have stocked shelves and often items are out of date. In fact, it happens so often there is a SIGN on the drink cooler telling US to check dates! My husband & I just had the worst customer service experience at this pharmacy. I schedule flu shots for us both online. We get to the pharmacy & she couldn't find us in the system. When I attempted to show her the screen shots of our "confirmed appts", she didn't want to see them. I asked if we could get the shots in as walk-Ins, was told she'd have to check because the pharmacist had to take a lunch. In the end, we didn't get our shots there because of how we were treated & preferred to go elsewhere. The young lady was very curt & perhaps needs some retraining. read more

I come here often to get some things but this was pretty disappointing as well as wrong. They close at 9pm on Saturdays and I just left because I got there at 854 so I can pick up an item, and they were already closed. The automatic door would not open. That is purely wrong, your sigh says 9pm and the clock on my phone said 8:54 when I arrived, so clearly it was not 9 yet and you are not supposed to be closed yet. read more

This corporate location is full of wonderful local people. Even though there are only 8000 people in Prunedale, we have two CVS stores. The other side is bigger but colder. I wish them well. OUR CVS was *Longs* before then an independent called *Wapples*. The pharmacy is better than ever before with 100% competent people and on the front end, excellent with people who work there being appropriately familiar. CVS (and the grocery) are the anchor of our non-incorporated area. Yeah, it is all corporate but the people are local and wonderful. read more

How is this place still open? Since becoming CVS I have not had one positive experience here. The line at the pharmacy is always long and I usually leave before it ever moves. The last two times I went to the pharmacy, the person in front of me complained to the cashier about the extreme wait and the response was the same: "we are really short staffed today?" HELLO MANAGEMENT!!! What's the problem? Us Prundalians would much rather shop local than drive into Salinas, even with the higher prices. At this point, I will choose the extra 12 miles for prescriptions, it may be farther but it will certainly be faster. read more

I've had tons of problems with other pharmacies pretty much every one but this one! everyone here has always helped in every way and done everything they can to make sure my prescriptions are filled and as soon as they can. I came into the store about two weeks ago looking for some cold medicine. I was instantly assisted by a young man named Cris or Chris or Christ Idk but I told him that his name was my religion and he laughed and smiled. He quickly pointed me to the right direction, which I found very helpful. You could tell this guy was very knowledgable, he must have gone to college. read more

If there were negative stars to give, I would. This is the worst pharmacy in the entire county. They are either "out" of what prescription medications you need or it isn't ready when they say it will be. I receive text alerts telling me that my prescriptions are ready, stand in line for 20 minutes only to be told 1 or 2 are ready but can't refill all of them because they are out of something and I will have to come back. No apologies are ever given for the inconvenience. They have been faxing the wrong telephone number for my doc for refills for over a month AFTER being called by my doc's office to correct it. I contacted another pharmacy 2 times to have my 8 monthly prescriptions transferred from this nightmare CVS to them and the requests go ignored by CVS. Can't depend on online service either because it never jives with what goes on in the actual store. The store staff is helpful, but the pharmacy and the rude people behind that counter are hazardous to your health. read more

I said a fan "well no it's not even the damn season for those" as I walk away I say damn what customer service they have here and she yells back " I can hear every word your fkn saying !" There is a young woman with shoulder length blond hair and glasses. I don't think she is all there. I walk 5 steps into the store and stop at one spot and she asks if I am finding everything allright. I just got there . I haven't even looked. she has done this a couple of times before. The topper is that she went yelling down the aisle that the customer complained to her that she just got there. I walked out. I like everyone else.
