This is for the pharmacy where their staff is inept. They constantly call the wrong prescriber for refill requests and put the inaccurate information on the medicine bottles. They are slow here usually. Takes forever checking anything out even if it's just a piece of candy. And some people working here are not that bright. I think one of them was a night manager even. We came to pick up a Walgreens order package after someone just called us to puck it up so we knew our package was there for sure and when we went there, he could not find it when we clearly gave our name for the package. We could see the package just sitting there on the top right behind him with our name on it! We had to just go behind the counter and take the package ourselves. Maybe he was on crack that day! This is why Amazon is taking over retail and brick and mortar retail locations have become the satellite stores to the main retail centers in the cloud - management that is more concerned about the internal process than making customers happy. I've two bad experiences with this store over the few months. A few months ago I made the mistake of trying to copy a couple film slides to a digital format. Today I made the mistake of trying exchange a defective Blue Rhino propane tank without a reciept. A few month I purchased/exchanged a propane tank. It didn't work. Shortly after this my wife went into labor with first born, so everything got put on hold. We wanted to bbq tonight, I went to turn on the bbq and nothing, then I remembered. So messed with it a little, researched online to see if anything could be done and decided to take it back. I spoke with Francis, the only manager working, who initially told he'd just change it out. I had a few things to pick up so he said to have the checker call him when I'm ready. He then hunts me down and asks if I have a receipt, which I didn't of course, cause who would think you'd need to keep a Blue Rhino receipt, any receipt for that matter in this day and age. So Francis proceeded to tell that he couldn't make the exchange because I didn't have a proof of purchase. So I'm sure this is much like the company in Arizona they sent my slides to, Walgreens takes a small mark but essentially Blue Rhino comes out counts the tanks that been returned and the ones missing (sold tanks) and then sends Walgreens a bill. It makes no difference where it was purchased, tell the Blue Rhino guy, this one is defective, we swapped it out so charge us for that one. Basically there is no proof of purchase needed. I explained this to Francis, and then it became a pissing contest. Francis become short with me cut me off mid sentence and asked "if I was done". Then repeated he needed a receipt or I'd have to pay for the exchange. It got ugly from there. Ironically I literally live two minutes away by foot and am in that store at least twice a week. With the baby, picking up odds and ends, and I think pharmacies are fun to shop in, they always cool stuff. I've seen Francis around many times but never have been greeted by him. When I pointed out that I'm in there as much as I am, he said that "a lot of people say that". By contrast, I purchased something on Amazon a few weeks ago, it wasn't what I thought it would be, so I returned it. With three, yes three mouse clicks, the correct item was in route and UPS was scheduled to pick up the return from my home the next day. I had the option of UPS picking it up or dropping it off at one of their stores. All I had to do was set the item to be returned in the box it came in on my front door step. That's service. I guess Walgreen will join Radio Shack, Sears, The Gap, Office Max, Office Depot and many others predicted to fall this year (or have already gone down this year). Sad. In two years buying stuff will be a totally different thing, mainly because guys Francis don't understand or haven't been trained to understand that the only thing comes from challenging a customer like he did me is bad for him, bad for the company. Best walgreens experience ever. Honestly I don't normally shop here because of incompetent employees that couldn't spell cat if I spotted them the c or the t. BUT this experience was different. I came across a competent and intelligent employee, Nick Reitner. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, a very obviously clear leader. I don't know what position he is in, but it should be in one of authority or management. This one of THE best customer service experiences I've ever had in general. I'm good with this Walgreens - this Walgreens is moderately sized, not huge like a Target, where you can ride your shopping cart all the way down the aisle and sing like a crazy person, nor is it tiny like a pharmacy that is so small, it is constantly under stocked. This Walgreens is the size of a house, that carries ample products and meets needs, which is fine by me. I can grab my hand creams, detanglers, and gummy worms at a decent price. The best thing about this location, however, is that it is conveniently placed next to the Sparkle Car Wash, which is the only place I go to get my baby washed and polished. When I don't feel like watching my car being worked on, I go to Walgreens to "look around", except I always walk away with two bags of stuff.... because I forgot that I needed deodorant, or that I ran out of toothpaste, or that the boyfriend needs more hairspray, etc. In a way, this Walgreens is evil, but its pretty awesome. All Walgreens are not the same. The pharmacy staff at this location are SO NICE!!! Every one of 'em, every time. Helpful when our insurance wasn't working, remembered details about our child, and they call when we have a prescription that needs to be picked up or restocked (they call in person, I'm not talking about the standard robo-call). Getting my flu shot took about 8 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. The rest of the store is average, with your basic retail staff and the typical selection of merchandise. This location is consistently much less busy than the store on north Lake, and cleaner to boot. read more

only bad review for pharmacy. the employees there (esp the head pharmacist!!) are rude. they called to say my RX was ready- then when i arrived, it wasn't. they took a long time to fill it (eye drops no less!!) and never acknowledged the long wait time or why the call was made when RX wasn't available. pharmacist insisted they don't call people- only text. i kept saying i got an automated call (home land line)from them and that's when he got REALLY rude and belligerent. he scoffed and walked away. not the first time but this time i've had it. horrible service, horrible attitude by head (male chinese- in case there's another) pharmacist. i will go elsewhere. read more

If I could give NO stars I would. Do not get your prescriptions filled here. Don't walk, RUN to the nearest pharmacy. They lost my request, number, profile everything. I waited two days, nothing. I called to inquire about my request to have a prescription transferred to their pharmacy, they had no idea what I was talking about and that was after speaking to the young man on the phone for 20 minutes. Then after I had the doctor call in with the specific instructions, the young man said they had not called in. They said my insurance wouldn't pay for it, on and on. It was the worst experience. If you have the patience to have your time wasted, by all means go to this pharmacy. They are nice, but incompetent beyond belief. read more

Walked into Walgreens to print pictures out and they provide a USB cord, I plugged in my phone and 4 minutes later I had the 14 pictures I needed in different sizes ! It was also SUPER easy to select and print pics. One suggestion if you're going here for pictures, make sure whatever you're printing out is in the last 100 pictures on your photo album, for some reason that is what is first reads, thankfully mine were! 5 stars :) read more

I wanted to get a photo calendar printed Wednesday. The turn around is same day which is pretty fantastic. The manager Nicole was extremely helpful, patient and really nice. So I walked into Walgreens about ten seconds after a Caucasian woman entered the store and the Hindu Indian guy behind the counter said the Welcome to Walgreens cry to her. I walk in as a person of color and I don't get the Welcome to Walgreens cry! Instead he calls out numbers. I recognize the numbers and I start to laugh.. The numbers are a call to be alert of a possible shoplifter in the store. So 4-5 workers begin to follow me around the store it was really annoying. So, instead of being able to shop in peace I took what I had to the counter and told the Hindu Indian counter guy that I would be back to pay for my things momentarily. As I turned I said by the way a29 has cash. This is not an easy store to shop at. We, not just myself, have seen time and time again people being poorly treated at this store. The staffers not all but most are extremely rude and have zero business in the Service Industry!! This Walgreens is located on the Southeast Corner of Colorado and Sierra Madre bl. Called on 4/2/17 (Sunday) at 10:08 AM- Spoke with Jennifer M. about refilling my prescription that has 2 refills available before 4/11/17. (0194243-10764) She stated that she would not be refilling the prescription as it is against the California Law. I stated that my doctor refuses to write another prescription, when there are refills available. I stated that I would like to print out these laws to show to my doctor, in order to fix the problem. When asked which California Law/code/section she was referring to, Jennifer M. refused to provide such information. Jennifer M stating that that I did not believe her , that she is a trained pharmacist with many years experience, and that she took a test on this. Jennifer M. stated that customers should not question her. As I tried to get in a word in edgewise, she consistently began raising the volume of her voice and took over any communication attempts on the part of me, the Walgreen's customer. We put her on speaker phone and let 5 other members of my family listen to 45 seconds of yelling and dehumanizing behavior. Jennifer M.'s behavior was very unprofessional and not in line with the Walgreens' corporate values of customer service. After 45 seconds of yelling into the phone, Jennifer M. hangs up in your customer's face. I called back on the same day at 10:14 AM, Jennifer M. answers the phone again and upon hearing my name abruptly hands the phone to someone else, without even asking your customer to hold on or giving them any indication that they are placed on hold. This was very hurtful and rude towards your customer. A man by the name of "Francis" answers the phone, who states that he is not authorized to fill prescriptions, nor is he authorized to contact my doctor's office about the issue at hand. When asked why he was on the phone in the first place then, he begins to talk to someone else in the store without another word. I ask if anyone is still on the phone as I hear muffled voices which seem to be this "Francis" and Jennifer M.s' voices arguing over who should take my phone call. Despite saying "hello? Hello? Can anyone come back to the phone to help me?", the voices keep arguing amongst themselves. Since I cannot get anyone to help me over the phone, I decide to walk to the Walgreens as it is important not to have any interruptions in my medication. I arrived at the store on the same day 4/2/17 at 10:38 AM. Upon entering the store "Lorenna" greeted me. She informs me that she is the manager. I briefly give her a summary of the issue at hand and I ask her that she assist me in getting Jennifer M. to contact my doctor's office. Once we present to Jennifer M., Lorenna requests that she help me. Jennifer M. outright refuses, stating that there is no reason to contact the doctor to help solve this problem. She also states, once again, that she is a trained pharmacist and I should not question her. It is one thing to abide by laws, but it is another to project your own insecurities and unfinished business on to your customers. In addition, if your employees speak on legal things and the law, and use the law to state that they cannot fill a pescription that clearly has *REFILLS* on it, you need to be able to back up with information/resources. Jennifer M. could not provide any information other than "it's against the law" and "I took a test on it, so I know". Jennifer M.'s customer service consists of dehumanizing customers that ask questions and that don't believe her on just her word. Walgreens expects its employees to solve and communicate problems in a professional manner. This was not the case with Jennifer M. today. I will certainly make sure that the Walgreens Corporate , Joint Commission, YELP.com, and other entities who may have an interest receive a copy of this incident report. In addition, I will share my experience with both my offline and online social networks and spread awareness about the unprofessional practices of this Walgreens' employee. read more

I was really excited about their same day canvas prints, so I ordered one for a gift to be ready just before a birthday party. It said that it would be ready around 3. I went in at 4. They hadn't done it, because they suspected that the photo was done by a professional, and they accused me of violating copyright laws. Ironically, the photo was a snapshot I took of my friend's daughter sitting on her own front porch. They did not even call me or leave a message informing me that they had decided to put a hold on my order. It was too late for them to fulfill the order in time, so I had to go to the party with no gift. I don't think businesses should assume their customers are being dishonest. It left me with a very bad feeling, so I won't be returning there. read more

This pharmacy is great. Good prices compared to CVS where I used to go, and faster service by far. Jeff is the absolute best, very friendly, professional, extremely responsive, and has called me on numerous occasions with important updates in regards to my prescriptions. I am always glad to see he is working when I need to do an rx pick up or drop off because I know he is very fast and gets me out quick. I had a not so great experience one time when a female pharmacist was training another girl. When I ran into issues with my insurance and was a little upset, she explained to the trainee (who was trying to be compassionate) that she was going to have to "deal with this" all the time, and not to get into a conversation with me about it but instead say "take it up with your insurance company we can't help you", and to move on to the next person. This may be an efficient policy, but I don't feel she needed to say all this right in front of me while I was obviously stressed over not being able to pick up my meds that I really needed. But that was my only bad experience here, and let it slide because everyone else who works there has been nothing but kind to me. There's another guy who I forgot his name, but he is good too. Exceptional service at the pharmacy! After experiencing such bad customer service at the Alhambra Walgreens I checked Yelp and saw this store had better reviews. I know... I should've done that first. I waited patiently in line for a minute, when suddenly the customer in front of me who had finished with the clerk, said to me,"she'll take good care of you she's good!" I walked up to be greeted by Stephanie. No joke, she's awesome! Stephanie was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. She went above and beyond to help me. After I arrived at home she contacted me to update me on my prescription dilemma and gave me the info I needed to resolve it. It may not be as convenient to drive to Pasadena if you're in the Alhambra area, but you'll be a lot happier! read more

I'm giving this pharmacy one star!!! Although the other reviewers seem to be ok with mediocre corporate operations, I don't agree. I'll deal with a small amount of corporate beuracecy just as must as the next reasonable patron. However, when I had problems with a glitch in communication between my insurance and this pharmacy the pharmacist and his/her technicians made no extra effort to resolve or at least offer helpful advice. The standard answer I got from the technicians was "sorry you have to call your insurance company." No further advice or help was offered. What happened to customer service in this country? Obviously, Walgreens' pharmacists cannot be blamed for my insurance companies computer glitches, but I am holding them responsible for their lack of concern for my business at their establishment. I've been to their pharmacy, been to their photo center, and have done some random shopping. Each visit has been noticeably more pleasant than most other drug stores. I don't know what exactly it is. The employees are helpful and they actually have a touch of cheer to them. As another poster said, this is just another retail drug store with the same old uninteresting merchandise you would expect. The difference here is that the people are friendly and helpful, not a bunch of "deadheads" as you usually encounter in drug stores. I also went to the Walgreens on Rosemead, and the employees were friendly and helpful there too. At both Walgreens I took photos for 1-hour printing, and they offered to print them right away for me if I wanted to wait a few minutes. Nice. Plenty of good parking in both stores too. read more

The pharmacy manager is an anal retentive f@!# head. I pulled my back out at work, go to the urgent care get a prescription for naproxen and hydrocodone. I called an hour before they close and ask if he will be able to fill the prescription. He says yes as long as I'm there before 6. I get there at 530 give him the prescription and ask again if he will be able to fill the prescription because I am in major pain, he say no problem it will be ready in 20 min. I am in so much pain from pulling my back out that I can barely breathe. I sit down in misery for nearly 30 minutes then all of a sudden he asks me if the doctor mentioned the dosage I was supposed to take. I told him he specified "as needed." He then goes back and tries to call the doctor who has already left at 5pm. I ask him if there is a problem. He then informs me that he might not be able to fill it because he can't read the directions for taking the pain medication! He says he will look at it again and se if he can make out the doctors writing. All this for directions on taking a freakin pill for pain! Unfucking believable!!!!! It's obviously a minor oversight but will not fill the prescription. He should of told me he couldn't fill it before making me sit there in fucking pain for half an hour and then tell me he can't fill it 2 minutes before he closes! Absolutely no consideration. I then called him an anal retentive cocksucker and exited the Walgreens, went to CVS in Arcadia and they filled it with no hassles. read more
