Out of the 3 Ralph's here in Pasadena, this is definitely my favorite. Parking is better than the other two (except around the end of the year, in which they start setting up the bleachers for the Rose Parade (this one is on Colorado Ave.)). Minor grievance, but this is the only Ralph's in Pasadena that doesn't sell Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme candy bars individually in the checkout aisles, other than that, the discounts are great, the produce is fresh, the layout is fantastic, the bathrooms are kept clean, the sushi and nigiri by the prepared food counter is pretty good. 10/10 location.

They had exactly what we were looking for, a deli. Luckily there was no waiting in line to order a sandwich. We ordered all veggie sandwich with all the fixing and it ended up tasting pretty good. They had many other options that could be added for your side dishes. Quick exit at the customer self check out since only had one item.

Digital Coupon

I occasionally use this location to buy some groceries. This morning I wanted to use a coupon for pizza and the manager gave me attitude claiming I already used the coupon and that I wouldn't be able to redeem it again. It seems like they don't know how to read as the offer was available to make the coupon valid for more of the same product. This guy Ron is very nice to other customers but me. No idea what I did to him as I'm just a regular customer and want my shopping done smoothly without any hassle. The store was empty and they had all the time in the world to address my shopping needs. No manners whatsoever from this guy, nasty attitude towards me.

This is a wonderful Ralph's, clean and has a wide variety of products. They have self checkout, groceries, and everything your local Ralph's should have. I did take off one star because of the cramped aisles which many reviews have mentioned but I honestly didn't find it to be that big a problem. The parking is plentiful and the employees are kind and gracious. Someone even greeted me at the entrance. However, the one thing that did make this Ralph's stand out to me was the fact that they had the Snyders pretzel rounds I have been searching for for almost half a year. These things are absolutely amazing, they are fluffy and crispy and melt in your mouth. I have scoured every Ralph's for these to no avail so when I found these, I was ELATED. Otherwise, I bought some spicy tuna sushi which was great albeit a little hard to find because of store layout, some slices of cake, and some snacks. All the groceries were great and I definitely recommend this Ralph's. Such a blessing that I found one of my all time favorite snacks here :D

We tried eating a few pieces and pretty much gagged. Absolutely horrible!!

If I could put a zero star I would! This is the 3rd time I've bought fried chicken from their deli. Shame on me! I should have learned my lesson the first time! But it's shocking to me that the store or deli manager thinks this is ok but clearly they do since it has been 3 times now. They must leave the chicken to bake and rot under the lights. See pics! Save yourself the money do not buy deli chicken from Ralphs!

Even though the Rose Bowl is being played in Texas, this is still one of the best Ralphs in the area. Their store is well stocked and has an excellent meat department. Because of its location, it get's a lot of their business from the Rose parade, and rightly so. I'm starting to come here more often, looking for specials and quality goods to bring home.

This door is always open because it does not stay shut. It's been this way for at least a year. Hope you like extra crunchy Kaiser buns!

Last night a staff member noticed that I had only one item and brought me to a different register to ring me up. Well done.

They have pretty good service throughout the day, but they consistently close very early around 12:10.

For those that are not familiar with Super King Market, this is a market that was founded by Peter…read moreand Mary Fermanian, with the first store in Anaheim (which has since remolded and is significantly bigger than the first one). The name "King" is a homage to honor their father, who was known to be the king of fruit. Super King Market is best known for their produce, excellent quality and very affordable prices. The market itself is very international in which you can find Middle Eastern items, Hispanic items and also Asian grocery items as well. I really love Super King and so does my husband. After my husband had discovered the location in Claremont (I actually had shopped there before he did, many years ago), he just has this desire to visit the other locations. We have already visited the one in Glendale, which is my least favorite of the 3 that we have gone to so far. This location is cleaner and does seem to be bigger (but I prefer the set up and layout of the location in Claremont. The parking is way better than the other 2 locations that we have visited). Anyways, we came by this store on a Saturday and it was definitely busy. But not so busy that it felt crowded (but can't say that will be the same for you if you come on a weekend). The first selection I love to visit is their produce section. There is such a vast variety of different, good quality, vegetables and fruits. And what makes this section even better is the fact that the produce is so cheaply priced. A market like this really encourages you to choose healthier choices of fruits and vegetables (and also whole grains. The dried grains, rice + beans section is also very cheap, as compared to the typical American market like Von's, Ralph's, etc). I also love all the different types of breads that you can find on the other side of the store. The prices for whole wheat pita bread is very cheap too (and also the regular pita bread for those who don't appreciate whole grain foods and don't get enough fiber in their diet). Be aware that a lot of their fresh breads have a short shelf life so make sure you finish your bread before they go bad and have mold :( Customer service at the register was just whatever, but I don't come to this market expecting it to be stellar, so that doesn't bother me. The prices are great here, the selection of food items (in many different departments, not just the produce) is excellent and would come back to this location more often if I lived in the area.

That's right the day he accused me he had literally walked into the store to start his shift. Stated the way I was walking with my son and husband looked suspicious . We also shopped around for snacks couldn't resist the immaculate sushi section. Beautifully displayed and the best market sushi I have tasted. I love torched (yakumi) fish on nirigis and chose the salmon. So glad I did bc I wasn't even that hungry but gladly inhaled 3 pieces from Hubs' box. DD loves crispy rice and got the imitation crab salad with freshly sliced avocado on top. Loved it! Before we left for home, we made another stop here for their hot deli breakfast bar and coffee bar and more smoothies. Yes, yes, yes. My eggs, potatoes and bacon box was tastier and fresher then sit down restaurants. DD loved her croissant eggs and ham sandwich. My vanilla latte was bold and packed a punch. This second time around the smoothies were a bit on the sweeter side. Wish we had a location up North. Couldn't resist the tote in an ARMY green. Structured and well made in nylon with a firm base.

I heard that if you order the meat plates, it's a bit more reasonable. So that's what I tried on this visit. You would think you wait in the line in front of the counter but then I noticed people just walking up on the other end. So I did that and didn't have to wait. There should be signs or something. I was able to sample the items which was nice. I opted for the chicken curry which was the special with carrots who I heard was good. The sweet potato fries were also delicious. I love the seasoning. It's by weight, see my pics so it was $23.85. I really like their spicy tuna sushi sandwich which was $21ish. However, when I got some, it didn't look like tuna, It looked like cooked salmon. A little confused but what can you do. I'm not driving all the way up. :) Definitely an experience you should try. Just be prepared for the price. SYOY!

I wanted to try their tacos, rice, and beans which I did... very good by the way. Besides that, I so desired to seek out their ceviche selection which I did as well. I got to try 5 different ceviches... spicy fish, spicy shrimp, shrimp + avocado + mango (non-spicy), butterfly shrimp (aguachile), and spicy shrimp (aguachile rojo). They also have non-spicy fish and shrimp ceviches. Thanks Scott for the free samples! I loved the citrus taste of the spicy shrimp and shrimp + avocado + mango! I think they need to make a spicy version of the latter or combine it with spicy shrimp. Just my 2 cents! I ended up with about half a pound of each ceviche flavor. After taking my first bite, I said to myself, "I should have gotten 1 to 2 lbs of each instead especially when it was on sale for $9.99 per lb." I won't make that same mistake next time LOL. During my visit, I was very impressed with the different sections of the store starting with La Cocina a La Panadería (Bakery) a La Verdulería (Produce) a La Pescadería (Seafood (ceviches made fresh daily is here)) a La Cremeria (Dairy). They even have the guacamole and aguas frescas made to order stations. How cool is that! Store was bright and clean. Aisles were organized and well stocked. Mexican food and groceries selections are massive. Lots of the foods are freshly made in-house daily. Prices are very reasonable. They have inside and outside dining space for customers to sit and eat. Free parking is plenty. Staff was super friendly and nice. I will definitely be visiting Vallarta again soon!

Another time, the pizza stand was completely empty and I saw numerous packaged pizza doughs that looked like they had been out and over proofing for wayy too long! It wasn't refrigerated, and when I asked what happened, they said the burner broke down. If that's the case , you need to refrigerate the dough or hire someone that cares enough to handle food properly there. The cashiers never smile, don't make eye contact, and never greet you. They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad. Truly a shame. If I was a health inspector, I'd be shutting down your pizza center first, then I'd fire every single cashier there and train proper human beings to work with human beings.
