Numerous insects were actively flying inside the cabinet and crawling directly all over the uncovered food products. I have captured clear video evidence documenting this infestation, which is available upon request for your investigation. Public Health Risks and Concerns This environment poses an immediate and severe health risk to consumers for several critical reasons: * Pathogen Transmission: Flies carry over 100 dangerous pathogens. They easily transfer hazardous bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, and Shigella from external waste directly onto the food surfaces. * Direct Contamination: Because flies liquefy solid food, they regurgitate digestive enzymes and defecate on the bakery items. This leaves live bacteria and viruses behind. * Ready-to-Eat Hazards: These items are sold as ready-to-eat foods. Consumers eat them without cooking or heating them first, meaning there is no kill-step to destroy the transferred pathogens. Those days are gone ...and most stores now see if they can get away with overworking the checker! Next thing you know they install self check outs! Rather than hire people and keep a system of people working they just get rid of people and have 1 person observing (like these managers were doing). What a world we are moving towards. But anyways that's what you see. I wish they would just hire bag boys and go back to the good ol days.

I understand that working with the public can be stressful, but basic courtesy and respect should still be expected when dealing with customers and coworkers. No one should feel like they are inconveniencing an employee by asking for a service that the store provides. With that said, I do want to give credit where it's deserved. Vallarta has some really good products and food. Their aguas frescas are delicious, and lately I've been getting their rotisserie chicken, which has been really good. The taqueria also serves fresh food, and I've generally had much better experiences with the employees in that department--they are friendly, helpful, and seem to genuinely care about providing good service. It's unfortunate that one person's attitude can make an otherwise good store such an unpleasant experience. I hope management takes customer service seriously, at the service booth because customers deserve to be treated with basic respect.

They also have outdoor seating, if you choose to eat/drink your beverage, food outside. They do catering, pick up and delivery orders. Aisles were fully stocked and easy to navigate. It's a nice, CLEAN, big store with a lot of discounted items here and there. Which was nice. What I liked is that the manager was helping the cashiers, because they were very busy. I miss the breakfasts that were made to order here ages ago. But with Amazon buying the store brand, some prices seem lower. Always browse the clearance section. They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad. Truly a shame. If I was a health inspector, I'd be shutting down your pizza center first, then I'd fire every single cashier there and train proper human beings to work with human beings.

This is the Ralph's that if you're ever in town for a convention, you simply have to go to and know in the event that you want to stock up on cheaper foods than what you will find at the convention center or in the food shops around here. It may not be high end, it may not be high class. But it gets the job done with as little money as possible. Not to mention if you have a Ralph's club card, you're saving even more! Speaking of which, have you've gone to a Ralph's club meeting lately? They're really breaking new ground and tackling the tough subjects like talking about double couponing and how long is too long to wait after the "best sold..." date marked on there. The downside to this Ralph's, and I'm not sure if this is all of S.D. county, but the place goes dry at midnight. After midnight you can't buy yourself any alcohol. What is up with that? I don't know. Cause let's be honest here, the party don't stop till the light of dawn, right? And if you're in the need to get an extra few six packs, which they have a lot of really good beer here of, then you're making sure that you need to get here and buy your stash before midnight. Then you have their prepared food selection. They have a lot of it and during convention time, this is the best and cheapest way to have a sandwich both taste good as well as be light on your wallet. Over all, this Ralph's has seen a lot of strange characters walk through its doors over the last few decades. That's par the course. But they are your best choice for when you need to replenish your supply of food for the hotel room and a quick bite on the go. read more

This is the place where "everybody knows your name". It's like visiting friends when you go shopping here. The staff all greets you with a "Hi" and I'm not kidding, most use my name when saying hello. I didn't think this kind of service was around any more. It's not super huge so you wont get lost. The produce is fresh, the meat counter is small but attractive. You can even have them fry your fish for you while you shop. The shopping experience gets the best at check out. I stopped here specifically for an item I sale (raspberries and blackberries I believe) I like to look online at the ads to decide what grocery stores to go to. What can I say I prefer to plan. But, they had none. The produce section is so small too. Maybe they sold out of them, but there wasn't even an empty place on a shelf with the label. It was frustrating. I ended up getting some other fruit so the journey wasn't a complete waste. I will definitely visit a larger Ralph's even if I'm near this one! read more

The workers seem good, and the lines are usually quicker than Vons or Smart & Final, but man this location needs that remodel asap. One of the trashiest Ralphs in Southern California by far. Dirty, parking lot is good for parking, but it's full of morons, shady drug dealers, and homeless people. The directors of Hills Have Eyes could have seriously cast the characters for their entire movie by just going here for a day or two. read more

Definitely recommended to come at least once every 2 weeks for some great items that may be hard to find somewhere else, or items that maybe you wouldn't have tried otherwise. Today, though, I saw an ad for $0.99 eggs at Grocery Outlet and decided to come back. I spent some time at the store browsing for deals. I remember coming here specifically for big bags of pierogis and dumplings, but I didn't see those this time. I did pick up a pack of ribs for $5.99, which I think is a pretty good deal. I also noticed they carry a lot of their own Simply Go brand items, though I'm not sure about the quality yet. I'll come back when I see good deals that catch my eye.

No one is around if…read moreyou need help on any of the isles, the pizza lady from today had the worst attitude and made a cheese pizza that had 5% cheese on it and half unbaked (who's hiring the pizza workers???) It went straight to the trash, and never will I buy pizza from here again. Another time, the pizza stand was completely empty and I saw numerous packaged pizza doughs that looked like they had been out and over proofing for wayy too long! It wasn't refrigerated, and when I asked what happened, they said the burner broke down. If that's the case , you need to refrigerate the dough or hire someone that cares enough to handle food properly there. The cashiers never smile, don't make eye contact, and never greet you. They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad. Truly a shame. If I was a health inspector, I'd be shutting down your pizza center first, then I'd fire every single cashier there and train proper human beings to work with human beings.

But the community is strong. Reopening of the Altadena Aldi store will bring shoppers and revenue dollars back to the area.

I've gone to the counter/service booth on several occasions to cash a check or take care of other services, and the experience with the lady working there has consistently been unpleasant. She is a lady with blonde hair and always wears a mask covering. She comes across as extremely unfriendly and impatient, and it often feels like customers are bothering her simply by asking for assistance. What bothers me even more is that I've personally witnessed her speaking to other customers in a very rude and disrespectful manner while they are simply trying to get help. I've also seen her treat her own coworkers rudely when they come to the counter needing assistance. It's uncomfortable to stand in line and watch someone be spoken to that way. I understand that working with the public can be stressful, but basic courtesy and respect should still be expected when dealing with customers and coworkers. No one should feel like they are inconveniencing an employee by asking for a service that the store provides. With that said, I do want to give credit where it's deserved. Vallarta has some really good products and food. Their aguas frescas are delicious, and lately I've been getting their rotisserie chicken, which has been really good. The taqueria also serves fresh food, and I've generally had much better experiences with the employees in that department--they are friendly, helpful, and seem to genuinely care about providing good service. It's unfortunate that one person's attitude can make an otherwise good store such an unpleasant experience. I hope management takes customer service seriously, at the service booth because customers deserve to be treated with basic respect.

There was a guy who was letting a customer out the door so I had asked if I can still pick up my online order and he told me no because they were already closed. I went back to my car and another worker, Dolly, walked up to me and said she can help me. I was so surprised that she went out of her way to walk to my car to let me know that. She found my order quickly and I was in and out within 2 minutes. She was very friendly and had great customer service. Definitely need more workers like her! :) thank you!!
