Came across this small cute cafe in upland when we came out here for dinner. Ran by a cute couple with the cutest logo ! Was able to try their fire owl milk tea and it was perfectly sweet and the perfect amount of tea ratio. I'm so picky about matcha and so many places make theirs too milky/weak, too grainy, etc., but Wake Cafe's is so good! It's so smooth! It feels like the kindest people in the world work here. Wake Coffee has such a pretty aesthetic as soon as you walk in! It's inviting and welcoming to stay. You can play games with friends and family or study at their tables or bar stool area. The drink menu has variety - teas, matchas, coffees, and more. I did not get a chance to try a pastry, but that will be next! Please give Wake Coffee a try! They just opened earlier in the month but they already feel like an established spot. read more

Love this place! Not a lot of cafes in the area of Rancho-Upland-Ontario-Montclair so it was nice experiencing this place! Their energy is real calm and comfy, in which I'd be down to study and make art here :). I ordered the "fire owl" with an add shot and whole milk. It was awesome! I love my coffee strong and with the sweetener collaborated with the espresso very nicely. I also wanted to mention how nice the staff was. I had just done with an interview and I wanted some coffee after and this place popped up . I saw the high ratings for this place and the aesthetic looked cute so I said why not . When I walked in i was greeted and I scanned over the menu and I was amazed about how many options they had . They had options you wouldn't typically find at a traditional cafe or coffee shop such as a Thai lemonade which included Thai tea and lemonade . I also enjoyed how they have different flavored syrups such as peach mango and even agave . I decided on the ice mocha drink and I got a turkey and cheese croissant and a lemon poppyseed loaf . The drink was really good it had just the right amount of sweetness and the turkey croissant was really good as well . The lemon poppyseed loaf was really good as well . Customer service here is top-notch. The employees are so attentive, and they bring your drinks to you instead of waiting for you to grab it from the counter. It has a really cozy vibe and is a pretty good study spot as well - has a few outlets and never gets too crowded. My husband and I have been on a little mission lately to try out different cafes around the IE, and we finally made our way here after a workout and sooo glad we found this cute spot! He ordered the honey cinnamon cloud and I got the matcha cloud, plus we shared a turkey and cheese croissant. Everything was SOOOO yummy and perfectly sweet. The croissant was flaky and warm, and paired so well with our drinks. The ambience is beyond cute. They decorated the space so cozy yet modern. The best part of it was the customer service. Second time trying Wake Cafe and my family and I love it! I ordered the honey oat latte and added cinnamon and it's so bomb!! Perfect balance of coffee, sweet and creaminess. The amount of drink and bakery options they have was really great. I tried the Holiday Seasonal drink Cookie Butter latte and the Joy thing latte (Toasted Marshmallow) both drinks were so good! I ate it so fast I didn't even get a photo! My boyfriend got the same thing and added Oreo crumbs, which was a huge hit. Visit 2: I decided to explore the menu and tried the "Fire Dragon"--a black milk tea topped with crème brûlée and honey boba. It was delicious, though to make the tea more rich I recommend brewing the tea a bit longer to give that black tea flavor an extra punch against the rich cream. My little brother ordered the Thai tea soft serve with boba and Oreo crumbs (16oz) and his instant verdict was: "When can we come back?" I have tried a few, and still, they're just overly sweet for my taste. The staff has told me they can also make drinks less sweet if preferred. That said, they pull a great espresso shot, and the cold brew has definitely improved since my first couple of visits. The matcha is still a bit inconsistent, but at its best it's been great. The service has also really been dialed in. I'm starting to see a steady rotation of staff no matter what time I stop in, and everyone has been helpful and quick. At this point, I think Lontra is one of those places where if you find the drink that works for you, you can depend on what you need to get through the day. For me, that's probably going to be something like a plain espresso tonic, cold brew, or an Americano.
