My third visit to Red Berry. Their food is unique, and delicious. It's family owned, and you feel that in the way they treat you. We went for breakfast, then came back later that day for lunch. (be aware that they close at 5 but the kitchen closes at 4 - they opened it back up for us in spite of arriving at 4:20 - I think because we had promised to come back after breakfast). Today's we returned for lunch again. The food today topped our first visits. The Proscioutto & Mozzarella Piadina (kind of like a flatbread pizza) was my favorite (the balsamic glaze knocked it out of the park), but the Chicken Pesto wrap was a very close second. They also fresh bake goodies. Chocolate chip scone was incredibley moist. I don't want to oversell this place because I don't want them to become crowded or raise their very reasonable prices. But I can't keep it a secret. Also pictured are the Turkey & Brie Panini, Sausage & Pesto Piadina, and the Belgian Waffle. I really don't like having to leave this review because I genuinely wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, the spiced latte just wasn't really giving for me. I also tried the coffee cake and banana bread, and unfortunately, both were pretty dry. I'm not sure exactly what they were missing, but neither really stood out to me. I ordered the golden turmeric milk which was good, but I also ordered the matcha and it was flavorless. The menu says ceremonial grade but it doesn't taste like it at all. I could taste the milk more than anything and the matcha was just very watered down. I had my friend try it too to make sure I wasn't crazy and they also said they couldn't taste anything. Been here twice so far. Both time the service has been 10/10. The owner/mgr was very attentive and came around to check on people in the cafe. They have all the essential coffee drinks but their specialty drink menu isn't very big (they have like 4) I got the brown sugar spiced latte. The espresso was tasty and not bitter. My drink tasted like coffee, which I appreciated. I also tried their chicken pesto wrap, which was very good, particularly for a hot day. It's not a big wrap, but it was a good portion for the lunch hour and it came with a side salad. The star however, is their spicy chili oil sauce. That thing is sooooo good. Spicy and garlic-y!!! The second time around I got their breakfast burrito and their iced chai. I want to say they brew their chai and is not from a concetrate because it has a good spice. However, mine was too milky. Im not sure if that's the ratios they use or if they went extra with the milk so I would recommend asking. The burrito has a lot of tasty ingredients (beans, eggs, peppers, onions, cheese), however it was kind of bland. It needed some seasoning. Again, the star was that chili oil, of which I ended up using 2 containers (shout out to the mgr for noticing I was out of the first one and proactively bringing me one) Overall I would recommend giving this place a chance. Tried a new local coffee shop in Rancho today We stopped by Red Berry Coffee Bar on Foothill Blvd near Ramona, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your coffee or breakfast. Toward the back, they have a cozy lounge area with a couch, two comfortable chairs, and a coffee table stocked with coloring pages, word puzzles, and even Connect 4 / Tic Tac Toe. It's the perfect little spot to unplug and have a good conversation with someone. They have a great selection of coffee, breakfast, and lunch items on the menu, and the whole café feels like the kind of place you could spend a while relaxing or getting some work done. I've been eyeing this coffee bar for a few months now and when I heard they were opening today with a 10% deal I had to stop in. They're located in the plaza on the northeast corner of Ramona and Foothill, next to the barber shop. They are open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM I saw that their baked goods (coffee cake, muffins, scones) were warm since the cover was steamed up. I tried the Spiced Brown Sugar Latte (iced) and they recommended the Morning Glory Muffin. They have seating inside and outside. Customer service was awesome as multiple staff members said good morning as they walked by me. On their menu, I see that they also offer breakfast and lunch. The customer service was amazing! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the space was clean, comfortable, and inviting. There is WiFi available and plenty of comfortable seating, making it a great spot to study or get some work done. There are some scattered outlets (not very many though). Unfortunately, the coffee itself was disappointing. I ordered the Iced Spiced Brown Sugar Latte, which tasted overwhelmingly of artificial syrup with noticeable clumps of cinnamon. The flavor was so overpowering that I could only finish about a quarter of the drink. I would recommend considering house-made syrups or adjusting the syrup-to-coffee ratio, as the artificial sweetness completely overshadowed the coffee itself. That being said, the ambiance and customer service were truly wonderful. While I personally would not return for the same coffee order, I would absolutely consider coming back for the clean, comfortable, and friendly environment (and to try a different drink). It's a lovely space to be productive, and I hope the quality of the drinks can eventually match the excellent service and atmosphere! I stopped by Red Berry Coffee Bar during their soft opening and got the Spiced Brown Sugar Espresso. It was amazing! They're still working on expanding their menu, but if this drink is any indication, they're off to a fantastic start. The latte was incredibly smooth, not too milky, and had the perfect amount of sweetness while still letting the espresso shine through. You can tell they put care into making a good latte The pastries looked absolutely delicious too, so I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. Unlike Coffee Port Roasters a couple of miles down, they actually serve the Espresso Shots and Cortado in a Gibraltar and Demitasse cup, Boom! I loved this spot. For my first time here the staff treated me so well. Their Panini's are so good. They are made fresh and they come with a side salad, which is also very fresh. I would also recommend some type of identifier on the cups in the event someone orders 2 of the same drink and one of them as non-lactose. The handoff barista told me which was which but as i'm drinking mine i'm not sure they were correct in telling me which was which and no way to identify by the cups. It looked pretty, but was overwhelmed with cinnamon, to the extent that I couldn't really taste the actual brew, and no sign of brown sugar. I ordered the Spiced Brown Sugar latte. My expectations were high because I imagined what could be done with such simple ingredients. When cinnamon and brown sugar are incorporated and prepared flavorfully in a latte, the taste profile of any coffee can be greatly expanded. I assume, the amount of cinnamon they use, is based on the fact that it is a "spicy" beverage, and that's okay. If you love cinnamon then it's definitely the drink for you. I thought there would be a "play"on the spice. I stayed for about an hour. Normally, I can sit in a coffee shop for at least 3-3 1/2 during the day, and get a lot of work done. I couldn't finish my coffee, and that was disappointing. I left with it and that has never happened when my intention is to stay and work. I tried to drink it, taking several steps, but ultimately, when I left, I discarded it. Maybe I'll return and try one of their food offerings. Yesterday was their soft opening so wanted to come the following early morning before work. Luckily they open at 7am so I was able to order "for here"...We ordered: the Lavender Honey Latte and the Spiced Brown Sugar Latte both hot.
