Not sure where they originated, but it seems like Duck Donuts locations have been popping up quite frequently. As a fan of donuts, I've been very curious and finally was able to grab donuts at this location in Rancho at Victoria Gardens. The space is not large - with really just an area to walk up to the counter and order with areas of merch you can purchase. They make their donuts fresh to order (or at least that's how it was during my visit). I came in near closing time, so there was no line and I was greeted and helped right away. The two ladies in there - I wanna say Joy and Brie (sp?) were very friendly. I ordered half a dozen donuts and just got a variety of flavors. 6/14/25 Freshly made to order, hot donuts, Donuts! Couldn't decide so I went with what's popular, blueberry pancake & and cold brew with a side of sweet cream. Service was excellent & staff are friendly. It's in the middle of Victoria Gardens so it is absolutely crazy looking for parking on a busy Father's Day weekend. I'm sorry but this place was filthy. I some time to kill this morning waiting for another store to open and decided to grab a donut. While waiting I took a look and the baseboards were filthy. Cobwebs and dust on and under the shelves where the little ducks are. Behind the counter and in between the machines were dirty and dusty. We've been coming here for years and needed a little pick-me-up trying to get back into the swing of things after Spring Break. Made-to-order, warm, fresh donuts sounded perfect! This time around, I noticed they were offering a BOGO on DoorDash. So we hopped on that. It was actually for a half dozen donuts, so you get a full dozen for the half dozen price with the option of their party half-dozen or classic half dozen. We opted for the party. I went to Duck Donuts for the first time recently to pick up a Too a Good To Go order. For those that don't know Too Good To Go is an app for fighting food waste and I love that Duck Donuts participates! Our pick up consisted of a half dozen donuts. The cool thing about Duck Dounts is that they dip and glaze their dounts right in front of you. It was very fun to watch! The glaze flavors were very tasty and unique to eachother. The strawberry had notes of strawberries, the chocolate was very chocolatey. Of the donuts, my favorite was the chocolate with Reese's peanut butter MnMs, but I would have preferred a stronger peanut flavor. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with a very nice atmosphere , but we took ours to go. The man who served us was also very nice and explained things well. We used the to good to go app to order a dozen donuts, 6 for us and 6 for my nephew (and his mom and grandma of course). First of we went there early as they opened. We hadn't even walked through the door and we heard the manager Joy welcomed us so we greeted her good morning back. She was so pleasant as she made our order. The donuts were nice and fresh even when we got back home they were still warm. The maple bacon donut has been my favorite so far but everything was so good. The donuts itself isn't the traditional dough, it was more cake BUT not too much. They maple was sweet as expected but the real bacon toppings balanced that out. came in to for our too good to go orders, within our pickup window, 15mins to spare, I know it's cutting close it's definitely not past the pick up window. This older lady was at the register said she doesn't have enough and will have to make fresh ones, and she was so upset, loud and throwing things around (in the open kitchen). it was definitely not a welcoming place and will not return. she has plenty of bad attitude reviews on yelp. Loud rude and obnoxious indeed. Me and my partner each placed a too good to go orders, cuz there's a limit on each account. She screamed at us saying it's not cool for us to beat the system, initially saying we can come back to pickup tomorrow. I told her we paid for the orders on the app and on separate accounts. For anyone not familiar with "too good to go" orders will be considered expired if we don't pickup within the pick-up time frame. Her screaming threw me off guard and I just apologized and told her we'd not do that in the future. She then said it's not cool that we came in right before pick up time is over and that now she has to make us fresh donuts?! WHAT THE ACTUAL heck?! Too good to go is meant for vendors to sell their left over food at a discounted price! To save surplus food being thrown away as trash! It's not our fault that their ran out of one day old donuts!!! In fact, I've ordered from them once before, and the donuts were prepackaged and ready to go (it was a young man at the register). She clearly ran out today and now pissed off that she had to make fresh ones but that didn't give her any right to be screaming like a maniac at us in front of a ton of other customers. I read my Yelpie friend's great review on Duck Donuts (Thank you twin brother... you know who you are LOL). I was curious so I gave them a try. The day before pick-up, I ordered 3 dozens online... 1 Breakfast Box, 1 Signature Box, and 1 Duck Dozen. Each dozen costs $34... hence, total was $102... yes, believe it! They are all worth every penny. They are warm, delicious, and made-to-order as advertised. Btw, each donut is $3.95... if you do the math, it's a way better deal to get the half ($17) or full dozen... it's quite a savings of over $1 per donut! My pick-up time was 7:45 AM, but I hit traffic so I didn't get here until sometime after 8:00 AM. Upon arrival, I was the only customer at the time. So glad I was... I got to take lots of pictures. I was surprised to see so many cute duck toys. I was quite intrigued indeed... such a fun theme! Oh, you may purchase a duck toy for $2.50 each. Don't know if they sell them by the dozen at a discounted price. Just ask them! Joy, the store manager, was super nice and friendly. She labeled the boxes for me. She even gifted me a complimentary cinnamon donut (freshly made right on the spot) plus a couple duckies for my birthday. Yes, it was my b-day on pick-up day. Was excited to come here and try the place on 8/3/25 around 11:20 am my child slipped and mind you he just walked near to me where a floor is wet sign the floor felt like I was on ice and when I told the manager "Excuse me the floor here is super slippery!". There's an extensive menu with names that don't really describe the flavor profile unless you ask one of the staff. I asked what he recommends and he said the strawberry shortcake so I went with it. I've always enjoyed the donuts here but after my most recent visit, I feel the need to address something that's been a consistent issue. There's an older woman who works there, and her behavior is beyond obnoxious. She's loud, rude, and clearly thinks she rules the world. Not only was she unhelpful and dismissive, but she also made me feel uncomfortable just by the way she spoke to me. It's not just me either. I've noticed other reviews mentioning her poor attitude, and it's time something was done. The service is just as important as the food, and when you're treated like an inconvenience, it's hard to want to come back--even for the donuts. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems like she has no interest in providing even the most basic level of customer service. A little respect and kindness would go a long way, but clearly, that's not happening here. It's really disappointing because this place could be great. Came on a Wednesday evening to satisfy my donut craving and I was so pleasantly surprised to find out this place MAKES THEM TO ORDER. I went in assuming they were gonna be out of few donuts considering the time I was going but nope, because they make it to order - they can make any flavor you'd like :) Joy was super sweet at helping me decide what's good and even mentioned the special they had going on. There was a bit of a malfunction with the fryer but she handled it so well. Donuts: Soooo good and fluffy!! She shared with me that they have a shelf life of 4 days. That is impressive, but I can't confirm because these donuts are so good they won't be around that long!
